Taylor Swift Spotted at English Wedding with Sabrina Carpenter and Jack Antonoff, and Fans Can’t Stop Talking About Her New Look — Photos

Taylor Swift traded the stadium spotlight for the English countryside this weekend, turning up at a wedding surrounded by familiar faces from her music career. But amid the glamorous guests and countryside setting, one detail about Swift’s appearance quickly became the thing fans couldn’t stop examining.

Taylor Swift attended the wedding of recording engineers Oli Jacobs and Laura Sisk on August 15 at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios in Gloucestershire, England.

Sisk has been a longtime fixture in Swift’s musical world, with their professional relationship stretching back to the 1989 era.

Swift Traded the Spotlight for a Much More Intimate Celebration

Over the years, she has collaborated with Swift on ReputationLoverFolkloreEvermoreMidnights and The Tortured Poets Department, making her wedding a particularly personal occasion for the singer.

Jacobs also has a history with the venue, having started his career at Real World Studios before establishing himself as a recording engineer and collaborator with major pop stars.

According to TMZ’s report on the wedding, the guest list reflected those connections, with Jack Antonoff, Sabrina Carpenter and Phoebe Bridgers among the familiar entertainment names in attendance.

Despite the celebrity-heavy guest list, the celebration was reportedly kept relatively intimate and low-key. Marquees were set up throughout the gardens, with guests beginning to mingle outside around 3 p.m. before the festivities continued into the evening.

Swift was also showing that her professional relationship with Sisk had clearly developed into a personal friendship. Sisk was reportedly among the guests at Swift’s own wedding in New York last month. Now, Swift had the chance to celebrate Sisk and Jacobs as they began their own marriage.

Swift’s Wedding Guest Look Was Elegant – But One Detail Stood Out

For the reception, Swift wore a plunging navy dress covered in gold appliqués, with a voluminous skirt that created a soft silhouette. She kept her makeup familiar, wearing her signature red lip with brown eyebrow pencil and black mascara.

But the most noticeable part of the look wasn’t her dress or makeup. It was her hair. Swift appeared with a shoulder-length cut, keeping her ashy-blonde color but wearing the shorter length in soft waves that fell just past her shoulders.

According to InStyle’s report on Swift’s wedding look, the new cut represented a significant change from the longer style she had been wearing in recent months.

But the length was only part of the transformation. Swift also wore side-swept bangs, moving away from the eyebrow-skimming fringe that has remained one of her most recognizable features for years.

Her bangs have followed her through major musical eras, including ReputationLoverFolkloreEvermoreMidnights and The Tortured Poets Department. This time, however, the fringe was swept to the side, giving her familiar look a noticeably different shape.

The shorter cut also framed her face differently, while the soft waves gave the hairstyle a more relaxed appearance. And because the photos captured Swift from multiple angles, fans had plenty of opportunities to take in the change.

The Photos Gave Fans Their First Full Look at Swift’s New Hairstyle

The photos offered a much clearer look at Swift’s shortest hairstyle in years, with the shoulder-length cut and side-swept bangs visible from different angles. The new style quickly became a subject of conversation online, with some fans suggesting Swift should make even bigger changes.

One Instagram commenter wanted Swift to experiment with her color, writing, “I’ve been saying for years that she needs a different color! That is about the same color my hair grows in these days, and I hate it!”

“It lightens up if I’m in the sun a lot, but it’s still dark underneath. She’s Taylor Swift, she could have anyone color her hair. I wish she’d do it already,” the comment read on.

A third commenter was considerably less enthusiastic, writing, “Red lipstick and grandma’s hair with everything. 😬😬😬😬😬😬” The reaction wasn’t limited to Instagram.

On TMZ’s Facebook post about Swift’s appearance, commenters also debated Swift’s appearance. One person wrote, “Does my look like her or she aged overnight [sic].” Another commented, “She sure aged real quick.”

Swift’s appearance at the Gloucestershire wedding came just days after she stepped out for a girls’ night in London.

Days Before the Wedding, Swift Had Already Been Turning Heads in London

On August 12, she was spotted leaving private members’ club Annabel’s in a lilac minidress by Delphine decorated with metallic floral appliqués and the new hairstyle.

She paired the look with a crystal-covered Christian Louboutin shoulder bag, silver Aquazzura stiletto sandals and her signature red lip.

Swift’s English wedding appearance came during the first weeks following her own highly publicized marriage to Travis Kelce.

A Massive Multi-Day Blueprint

The spectacular union officially kicked off its public countdown after the couple shared their news on August 26, 2025. They announced their engagement via concurrent Instagram posts, showing off a stunning cushion-cut diamond ring with a playful caption about an English teacher and a gym teacher.

During a subsequent appearance on “The Graham Norton Show,” the pop star teased that her wedding would be a massive affair. She joked that there would be “no bubble” for invitations, promising to invite almost anyone she had ever spoken to. According to The New York Times, the festivities kicked off on July 2, 2026, with an intimate gathering of roughly 100 people.

The main event followed on July 3, featuring a massive guest list of up to 1,200 people. To ensure absolute privacy, another report noted that organizers had completely bypassed traditional paper invitations, communicating with high-profile guests entirely via encrypted text messages.

Shutting Down Manhattan

The scale of the wedding was so massive that it required altering the infrastructure of New York City itself. Prior to the nuptials, a prominent event planning company based on the Upper West Side, Winick Productions, had quietly filed an application with the city’s Street Activity Permit Office in early June.

The filing explicitly requested authorization to set up a massive tent and canopy structure directly outside the venue. It also noted that heavy commercial trucks would need dedicated space to load and unload stage materials for days.

As a result, a permit was filed with New York City to close the streets around the venue from July 2 to midday July 4 for the events. This multi-day shutdown completely altered traffic during one of the busiest holiday weekends of the year.

Logistics had already fallen into place across the city as traveling guests prepared for the big weekend. Several members of the Kansas City Chiefs had already booked premium accommodations at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square around July 3.

Furthermore, law enforcement officials actively braced for an unprecedented logistical challenge. Amtrak police officers had been formally told to expect the pop star’s wedding over the holiday weekend.

Meanwhile, the NYPD prepared for an overwhelming influx of onlookers and paparazzi. According to reports from Variety, active patrolling officers confirmed they had been briefed on how to handle the massive expected crowds.

The Million-Dollar Mystery Venue

For months, devoted fans scoured the country for clues, initially descending upon a luxury hotel near her Rhode Island home on June 13 following false tabloid reports. But after that seaside gathering proved to be a false alarm, the true location was finally unmasked. The couple officially hosted their massive wedding spectacular inside Madison Square Garden.

While a massive sports arena might have seemed like an unusual choice for exchanging vows, the iconic venue offered unparalleled advantages for the safety-conscious couple. The entirely windowless environment completely blocks overhead paparazzi drones and long-range lenses.

Additionally, the iconic arena features an indoor underground parking structure and a highly discreet entrance ramp. This allowed black town cars to transport celebrity guests directly inside without ever facing the public.

According to TMZ, renting the legendary arena cost the couple an astonishing $1 million per night.

Sources also told the publication that the venue was secured for at least three full days to allow for extensive set construction, the event itself, and striking the stage. Despite her history of performing eight sold-out shows at the arena, the billionaire singer did not receive any special discounts.

The First Footage Revealed a Hidden Fairytale Inside the Arena

And then, after all that buzz and secrecy, the wedding finally happened. What followed was exactly the kind of spectacle fans might expect from Swift and Kelce: a tightly guarded celebration, a room full of famous faces, and just enough mystery to make every leaked detail feel like a clue.

As the Daily Mail reported on July 4, 2026, breathtaking footage obtained by the outlet offered the first look inside the couple’s top-secret New York City wedding. The video showed Madison Square Garden completely transformed into what one could only describe as a fairytale hidden inside a sports arena.

The leaked footage also showed guests dressed in formalwear inside the transformed arena, adding to the sense of just how elaborate the private celebration became. The ceremony space appeared to be dressed as an enchanted garden, with towering trees, lush greenery, emerald drapery, and soaring archways surrounding the guests. It was a striking visual twist for a venue better known for concerts, basketball games, and hockey nights than whispered vows and couture wedding looks.

Guests could be seen gathering at the altar before later moving through a hidden set of doors into the reception area.

The footage reportedly captured the room buzzing as Candi Staton’s disco anthem “Young Hearts Run Free” played. Stars dressed in formalwear filed through the doors behind the altar after the ceremony, where Swift reportedly walked down a raised, stage-like aisle to a string arrangement of one of her own songs.

One guest told the outlet that after the vows, attendees “headed into the festivities room behind the altar’s magic doors,” where the real party began. The same guest divulged that the interior had a “whimsical Tinker Bell fairytale” theme, and the footage certainly matched that description.

Arrangements of green foliage and large trees leaned fully into the garden-party atmosphere the bride was said to have wanted for her big day. Emerald green drapery hung from the ceiling, adding to the dreamy ambience.

Even the arena’s usual blue seats were transformed, covered in nude-colored fabric to soften the massive space and make it feel less like MSG and more like a private castle garden.

A towering ceiling-height structure with gray embellishments and archways dominated the space. The feature resembled a chapel — or perhaps the very “castle” that had sparked frenzied speculation before the wedding.

The leaked footage also showed a romantically lit hallway with pink walls, peach drapery, and matching carpet. It appeared to sit just beyond the glamorous, carpet-covered stairway that some guests had posted on social media.

But the hallway held one of the most sentimental details of the night: Photos of Swift and Kelce from throughout their relationship were displayed on the walls inside large gold frames, including images from the couple’s August 2025 backyard proposal.

In the center was a large “T and T” logo, which seemed to have appeared in other parts of the nuptials too. Another section of the footage showed the ceremony space itself, where elegantly dressed guests lined up in what appeared to be the area where Swift and Kelce exchanged their vows.

“Good Morning America” host and wedding guest George Stephanopoulos later summed up the transformation with a phrase that felt tailor-made for the occasion. “It was really this garden inside The Garden,” he said on Saturday. “It was just so beautiful.”

AMC CEO Adam Aron also gushed about the magical transformation in a since-deleted post on X. He wrote that immediately upon entry, everything — floors, walls, and ceilings — was draped in peach and white.

Aron also said large blown-up pictures of Swift and Kelce at each age, year by year from one-year-old to late teenage years, were on display. He added that the space was “devoid of any notion that a basketball or hockey game [had] ever shared the space.”

The Outside of MSG Carried Its Own Newlywed Message

Outside, Madison Square Garden was bathed in pink light to mark the occasion. The giant illuminated screens displayed “JUST&T MARRIED!” — a cheeky nod to the newlyweds.

Industry experts estimated that Swift and Kelce, both 36, spent more than $15 million turning MSG into their dream wedding venue. A source told The New York Times that lighting, sound, catering, flowers, decorations, and labor alone could cost between $10 million and $12 million.

The days leading up to the event were reportedly packed with movement around the venue. Dozens of staffers were seen unloading equipment, boxes of food, and decorations from a fleet of trucks and caravans.

Security, Secrecy, and NDAs Kept the Celebration Under Tight Control

Security was also a major part of the production. Several NYPD officers and security members reportedly patrolled MSG ahead of the wedding, with the cost said to have reached about $1 million for taxpayers. The massive event did not escape criticism either.

Some local business owners reportedly complained that business was disrupted during a holiday weekend because of street closures. Still, inside the venue, the celebration seemed to be every bit as grand as fans imagined.

Shortly after the couple said “I do,” Swift’s publicist issued a press release sharing several intimate details from the nuptials. Adam Sandler officiated the wedding, while the couple wore custom Christian Dior Haute Couture. Swift opted out of bridesmaids and chose her brother as her “man of honor.”

Times Square Incident: Facts About Erin Piacenti, Her Final Post, and the Second Victim’s Identity Revealed – Plus What the Attacker’s Family Said About Her

A matter of seconds connected two strangers in a tragedy that has since uncovered deeply personal details about the lives behind the headlines.

What began as an ordinary Monday afternoon in one of New York City’s busiest tourist districts turned deadly within seconds. In the days afterward, the identities and deeply personal stories behind those caught in the violence revealed just how random the encounter appears to have been.

A Sudden Attack in the Heart of Times Square

The violence unfolded around 4:24 p.m. near West 41st Street and Seventh Avenue on Monday, August 31, 2026, according to a Daily News report.

Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said 49-year-old Queens resident Pamela Cisneros approached a 68-year-old man who had just emerged from a nearby subway station and was waiting to cross the street with his wife.

A witness told investigators that Cisneros removed two knives from a red Target bag before attacking the man, stabbing him in the abdomen. Within roughly 20 seconds, police said, the violence continued.

Cisneros moved north toward West 42nd Street, where she allegedly then stabbed a 32-year-old woman in the abdomen. The woman would later be identified as Erin Piacenti. Officers confronted Cisneros near an NYPD substation around West 43rd Street, beginning an approximately four-minute standoff.

According to Tisch, officers repeatedly ordered Cisneros to drop the knives. She allegedly responded, “I’m not dropping anything. I would rather kill both of you. I will kill you.” Police attempted to use a taser as Cisneros approached officers while holding both knives. When those attempts failed, two officers opened fire.

“This was an extraordinarily dangerous situation unfolding in the heart of Times Square, the crossroads of the world,” Tisch said, adding that the officers had been facing “a rapidly evolving threat with countless innocent people around them.”

The two stabbing victims and Cisneros were transported to Bellevue Hospital. Piacenti and Cisneros died, while the male victim was expected to survive. Mayor Zohran Mamdani asked New Yorkers to keep the surviving victim in their thoughts while thanking officers for intervening before the violence could escalate further.

Two knives were recovered from the scene, police said. The afternoon attack stunned people who happened to be nearby. Construction Worker Jorge Disla said he recorded Cisneros during the confrontation with officers and recalled police repeatedly telling her to put down the knives. Another witness, Linda Ruiz, recalled encountering a man bleeding heavily and pleading for help.

“I went to get a cop on the corner and there was another lady on the floor. She was stabbed in the back or in the chest. I couldn’t tell. There was a lot of blood. She wasn’t conscious. The police were trying to resuscitate her. But she wasn’t moving. It was horrible,” Ruiz explained.

Video footage later shared by The New York Times shows Cisneros holding knives during the confrontation with officers, as well as scenes from the aftermath of the stabbings. But as investigators worked to understand what had happened, attention increasingly shifted toward the woman whose life had been taken.

Erin Piacenti Had Just Returned from Maternity Leave

Piacenti was not simply another commuter passing through Midtown. According to The New York Times, the 32-year-old Bank of America vice president was in her first week back at work after five months of maternity leave.

She had reportedly been walking home from work through Times Square when she was attacked seemingly at random. Just four days earlier, Piacenti had shared what would become a heartbreaking final social-media update.

In it, she posted a family photograph while holding her newborn daughter beside her husband, Frank. She wrote about how grateful she was for the five months she had spent on maternity leave, during which her daughter had recently been baptized.

The young family had also spent time traveling together, visiting Long Beach Island in New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Maine. The joyful update now stands in painful contrast to what happened only days later. Piacenti’s Instagram account is private, and her profile image features her alongside her husband.

The couple lived in Chester, New Jersey, and both graduated from Fordham Law School in 2021. Bank of America said it is “shocked and deeply saddened” by the loss of its colleague, describing Piacenti as a valued teammate who will be greatly missed.

Her death has also deeply affected the community where she lived. “This definitely shakes us up,” Chester resident Megan O’Hara said, noting that many residents in the area commute to New York. “It’s like a family member passed away,” she added.

Dan Matlaga, who previously worked in Manhattan, focused on the cruel randomness of what happened. “She was just somebody on their way home from work,” he said. “This is heartbreaking.”

A Standout Law Student with Another Side Few May Have Known About

Piacenti’s achievements stretched well beyond her career at Bank of America. She attended the University of Pennsylvania before attending Fordham Law, where she met her future husband.

Piacenti graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into the Order of the Coif, an honor society recognizing accomplished law graduates.

Fordham Law Dean Joseph Landau remembered her warmly in a message to alumni. “Erin was a vibrant and cherished member of the Fordham Law family,” he wrote, praising her “academic devotion, sharp legal mind, warmth and generosity to her peers.”

During her final year at Fordham, Piacenti served as editor of the Kaufman Competition, an annual securities-law tournament involving teams from schools across the country. Former fellow Fordham student Ashley Slater explained just how demanding the responsibility was.

“It takes someone who is highly dedicated, very intelligent and very organized,” Slater said. “It’s a very difficult position, and she made it look easy.” Yet there was another part of Piacenti’s life that showed a more creative side. While at the University of Pennsylvania, she belonged to an a cappella group called Dischord and appeared in videos of its performances.

An April 2015 YouTube performance shows Piacenti performing as a soloist with background vocalists on Ariana Grande’s “Love Me Harder.” It is a small glimpse into the life she lived long before becoming a lawyer, executive, wife and mother.

The Second Victim Has Now Been Identified

For a time, the surviving victim was described publicly only as a 68-year-old man. His identity has since emerged. The second victim was Tak Kam, a Rhode Island resident who had traveled to New York City to visit his son.

Kam had reportedly just left a subway station and was standing with his wife, waiting to cross the street, when Cisneros approached. According to USA Today, investigators were told that Cisneros pulled two knives from the red Target bag before waving them and stabbing Kam in the right side of his abdomen.

He was transported to Bellevue Hospital and was listed in stable condition. Authorities subsequently said Kam was expected to recover. Like Piacenti, there was no indication in the information released that Kam had any prior connection with Cisneros.

The two victims were attacked in rapid succession, turning what appeared to be an ordinary afternoon for both into something unimaginable.

Police Had Encountered Pamela Cisneros Years Earlier

Questions quickly emerged about Cisneros and whether authorities had previously encountered her. As it turns out, they had. Police Commissioner Tisch said Cisneros had two previous encounters with the NYPD, although she had no New York City criminal record. The first came on December 20, 2018.

Officers reportedly found Cisneros screaming and behaving belligerently on Lexington Avenue near East 49th Street in Midtown Manhattan. Police determined that she was intoxicated. Less than four months later, on March 6, 2019, Cisneros was involved in another serious incident.

According to the police report, she attempted to jump in front of a southbound E train at the Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike subway station in Queens. She survived. Those incidents became even more significant after Cisneros’ family began describing what they said had been a decades-long struggle with mental illness.

Her Brother Says the Family Never Expected Violence

Cisneros’ brother, Patrick Peralta, spoke about his sister’s history and her final years in a separate Daily News interview. Peralta said his sister had dealt with mental-health problems for approximately two decades, including multiple hospitalizations, post-partum depression, and the 2019 suicide attempt with the subway-track incident.

But he insisted that what happened in Times Square was unlike anything he had known her to do before. “I don’t know what was in her head,” Peralta said. “I can’t tell you what she was thinking or if she just completely went blank. I don’t know where that rage came from.”

Peralta remembered his younger sister very differently from the images that later circulated from Times Square. “She was a happy-go-lucky kid,” he recalled. He said her mental-health difficulties developed after she gave birth to the second of her three daughters. “She went off track after that,” he said.

According to Peralta, Cisneros had been hospitalized several times and received psychiatric treatment. He said she had previously taken medication through monthly injections because she struggled to consistently take daily medication.

“For the last six years now, she was getting injections and nothing was wrong,” he said. “As long as she got the medication, she was fine.” Peralta also noted he had recently learned that Cisneros had begun administering the injections herself.

He therefore wondered whether she had missed doses, though that was his speculation and has not been established as the cause of the attack. Cisneros had reportedly lived alone in Woodside and had been out of work before securing a job approximately three months earlier as an administrative assistant for a lawyer.

Her family had also noticed something unusual shortly before the incident. Peralta said Cisneros normally ate dinner with their parents almost every evening, but she did not show up during the week before the attack, prompting relatives to call and check on her.

He last saw his sister on August 8 for their father’s birthday. “She was fine. Normal,” he said. Their mother spoke with Cisneros by phone on Saturday, according to Peralta. Cisneros reportedly told her that she was fine.

A Facebook Message from Months Earlier Takes on an Eerie New Meaning

There was another detail that resurfaced following the attack. Months earlier, Cisneros had published a lengthy Facebook message centered on religion, what she described as the “end times,” and signs she believed were visible in the world around her.

Among wars, earthquakes, homelessness, drug use, and other societal problems, Cisneros referred to what she described as “the disminished [sic] love of people to the point of stabbing others for no reason.” The wording is particularly unsettling in light of what police say happened months later.

Elsewhere in the post, she wrote extensively about repentance, salvation, hatred, spiritual warfare, and what she described as voices telling people to harm themselves or others. At another point, however, Cisneros urged people to stop hating each other, writing, “Life is too short to be hating on each other.”

She concluded by encouraging people to help others and “be an agent of love.” Those contradictory themes have taken on new significance after the fatal encounter, though authorities have not publicly established that the post explains her actions months later.

Her Family Learned What Happened from the Viral Footage

Peralta said he recognized Cisneros after seeing cellphone footage of the Times Square confrontation on television. “I was shocked,” he said. “I’m still numb.” Something about the woman in the footage made him think she resembled his sister, prompting him to contact the Midtown South precinct.

Police later confirmed the devastating news. Peralta was then faced with telling two of Cisneros’ daughters, who live in Florida with their father, what had happened. Her third daughter, who Peralta said is autistic and nonverbal, lives in a Brooklyn group home and had regularly been visited by her mother.

Cisneros’ family expressed sorrow not only over her death, but also for the strangers she was accused of attacking. “My entire family feels so sorry for the two people, the one that passed away and the one who was hurt,” Peralta said. “We are so sorry. We never thought this would happen.”

For Piacenti’s family, meanwhile, the tragedy came at what should have been an especially joyful time. She had a five-month-old daughter, had recently returned to a career in which she had already risen to vice president, and had shared her gratitude for the months she had just spent with her new family. Four days after that final celebration, a routine walk home from work became her last.

His Acoustic Cover of This Coldplay Song Left the Room in SILENCE! 😲❤️

Some performances don’t need a huge stage, flashy effects, or complicated arrangements to make an impact. Sometimes, all it takes is a guitar, a voice, and a song that means something. 🎶✨ That’s exactly what happened when this talented performer delivered a beautiful acoustic cover of a Coldplay song.

When he walked onto the stage, the atmosphere was relaxed. 😊 He carried an acoustic guitar and appeared calm, although there was a hint of nervousness in his expression. The judges and audience waited quietly to hear what he had prepared. 👀🎸

Then he started playing.

The first gentle guitar chords immediately changed the mood inside the room. 🎶❤️ Instead of a large production, the performance focused entirely on his voice and acoustic guitar.

As he began singing, the room became noticeably quieter.

His voice was warm, emotional, and incredibly intimate, giving the Coldplay song a completely different feeling. 🌟🎤 He didn’t try to overpower the music. Instead, he allowed the emotion of the lyrics to shine through.

The judges listened carefully, barely moving as the performance continued. 👏✨ The audience was equally captivated. What had started as a simple acoustic cover had gradually become a deeply emotional musical moment.

With every verse, his confidence grew. ❤️ His guitar playing remained gentle and steady while his vocals became increasingly expressive.

Then came the most powerful section of the song. 🎤🔥

He delivered the emotional peak with remarkable control, and the entire room seemed to hold its breath.

Silence.

Not because people were unimpressed—but because everyone was completely absorbed in the performance. 😲❤️ There are moments when an audience doesn’t immediately clap because they simply don’t want the song to end.

When the final chord finally faded away, there was a brief pause.

Then the room erupted with applause. 👏🎉

The judges praised his emotional delivery, unique interpretation, and stripped-back acoustic style. By removing the complicated production and focusing on the essentials, he allowed the song to feel more personal and honest. 🎸❤️

Viewers quickly shared their reactions:

💬 “That silence said EVERYTHING.” 😲👏
💬 “His voice fits this song perfectly!” 🎤❤️
💬 “The acoustic version gave me chills.” 🥹🎶
💬 “I didn’t want it to end!” 🌟🎸

The performance proved that sometimes less really is more. A simple guitar, a powerful voice, and genuine emotion were enough to completely capture the room.

Hayden Panettiere Once Felt ‘Guilt Ridden’ over Daughter Kaya – Details About Kaya’s Life and Her Relationship with Her Mom

Behind the headlines about the late star’s motherhood lies a far more complicated family story, and Kaya’s life today tells an unexpected part of it.

Hayden Panettiere spent years hearing other people tell the story of why her daughter, Kaya Evdokia Klitschko, lives thousands of miles away. But the now-late actress had increasingly filled in the missing pieces herself, and the reality she describes is far more complicated than simply “giving up” her child.

From the postpartum struggles that followed Kaya’s birth to the devastating custody papers Hayden later signed, motherhood did not unfold the way the “Nashville” star once imagined it would.

Today, however, her daughter is thriving and speaks an astonishing number of languages. She also shared an “incredible” bond with her mom and shares the same with her dad. And there is one painful misunderstanding that the actress especially hopes Kaya herself never takes away from her mother’s story.

Kaya’s Arrival Made Hayden Panettiere a Mom for the First Time

Kaya was born on December 9, 2014, in Hawaii to Hayden and Heavyweight Boxing Champion Wladimir Klitschko. According to People’s report announcing Kaya’s birth, the baby weighed 7 lbs., 14 oz. and measured 20 inches long.

“We are over the moon and madly in love!” the new parents said at the time. Hayden had largely kept quiet about her pregnancy, although her baby bump naturally became harder to hide. At the 2014 Emmys, she accidentally revealed that she and Wladimir were expecting a girl while talking about decorating and shopping for the baby.

“I’m thrilled that I am having a girl first because I feel like I know a lot about raising a strong woman,” she told Hello! Magazine while discussing her pregnancy and then-impending motherhood. “I feel very empowered myself and I think my daughter will, too,” she added.

At the time, Hayden was engaged to Wladimir. The couple had announced their engagement in 2013, more than a year before Kaya arrived. The first days of motherhood brought all the expected exhaustion, and some surprises.

Hayden later joked that she finally got her first uninterrupted night of sleep because Wladimir’s mother had been eager to take care of the then-newborn overnight.

“Wlad’s mom was desperate to take the baby for a night,” Hayden recalled in People’s first-photo story about the new family. “She looks like she didn’t get much sleep, but I feel well-rested!”

She described becoming a parent as “such a surreal experience and so out of body,” saying that she and Wladimir were simply getting to know the little person who had spent months growing inside her. Physically, however, recovery from childbirth was not easy.

“I’m limping around,” Hayden said at the time, adding that she was still trying to understand what pregnancy had done to her body and which changes might be temporary or permanent. She even joked that she felt “like an 80-year-old woman trying to go down the stairs.”

Kaya, meanwhile, was described by her mom as an easy and very sweet baby, albeit one with what Hayden called an “insatiable appetite.” But behind those tender early moments, Hayden would eventually face a struggle she said she had not been prepared to recognize.

Years later, Hayden explained that she suffered from postpartum depression after Kaya’s birth. The actress said part of what made the experience so frightening was that she did not understand what postpartum depression was or realize she should be watching for it.

“I wish I knew about postpartum depression. I wish I knew to look out for it,” she told E! News while reflecting on her experience in 2023. Hayden said she thought “there was something seriously wrong” with her and turned to alcohol in an attempt to make herself feel better.

She recalled thinking, “Fireball will fix this — duh!” before discovering that any relief was fleeting and ultimately made things worse. The isolation was another painful component. Because Hayden had not known what she was experiencing, she felt she should somehow have been able to overcome it on her own.

Her struggle with postpartum depression was something she had spoken about publicly years earlier, but she later connected those emotional difficulties to a much broader battle. Hayden had also candidly addressed her struggles involving opioids and alcohol, which became part of the circumstances surrounding Kaya eventually living with her father.

The actress said she wished new mothers were told that an immediate, overwhelming sense of attachment is not the only possible reaction to giving birth. She recalled wanting someone to explain that it was not abnormal to meet a newborn and initially see a “crazy little creation” whom a parent would come to love more deeply as they got to know the child.

The Mayo Clinic’s information on postpartum depression cited in E!’s report notes that symptoms can include severe mood swings and difficulty bonding with a baby. For Hayden, what followed was not just a private battle with her health; it ultimately changed the day-to-day structure of her daughter’s childhood.

Kaya Went to Live with Her Father

When Kaya was still very young, she began living with Wladimir in Ukraine while Hayden was struggling. The circumstances surrounding that arrangement have become one of the most misunderstood — and emotionally charged — parts of the actress’ life story.

During a September 2022 appearance on “Red Table Talk,” Hayden was asked about the idea that she and Wladimir had simply agreed it was best for Kaya to be with her dad after the couple had already split for good in 2018. Her answer was striking.

“At first it was not because it wasn’t a discussion,” she said during the Red Table Talk” conversation about relinquishing custody. Hayden explained that had Wladimir approached her and suggested that Kaya stay with him temporarily because of what she was going through, she probably would have understood the reasoning.

“Okay, that makes sense. I get it. I’ll come there, you know, to visit and stuff like that,” she said of how she believed such a conversation might have gone. Instead, Hayden said the way the situation unfolded was “very upsetting.” Then came the paperwork.

“I mean, it was the worst signing those papers,” Hayden recalled. “It was like the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever, ever had to do in my life.”

She clarified that the documents gave Wladimir full custody. At that point, Hayden said her intention was to focus on herself, recover, and eventually reach a place where the arrangement could change. She believed that once she was better, Kaya might return and she would have more time with her daughter. “But that didn’t happen,” Hayden stated.

Kaya was nearly three when the arrangement changed, and she initially believed her daughter was simply visiting her father in Ukraine. “It wasn’t fully my decision,” Hayden said on “Red Table Talk,” as recounted in People’s 2024 look at Kaya’s life and her relationship with her mom. “In fact, I didn’t even know it was happening until she was already over there.”

That detail helps explain why Hayden has pushed back so strongly against the narrative that she casually chose to walk away from motherhood.

Hayden Later Said She Was ‘Guilt Ridden’

By May 2026, Hayden was speaking even more candidly about what she felt during that period. At a panel connected to her memoir“This Is Me: A Reckoning,” she described the crushing guilt of knowing she was not in a position to parent Kaya the way she wanted to.

The actress admitted she had felt “guilt ridden” over being “completely incapable” of parenting her now-11-year-old daughter at the time, according to Page Six’s report on her emotional recollection.

She also remembered a remark that particularly hurt. “The worst thing that somebody said to me is that it was a personal choice that I was making,” Hayden said. Her response made clear just how impossible that characterization felt to her.

“Who would choose to feel like this? Like, how could you even say that to me?” she asked. Hayden described Kaya as a healthy, beautiful child who represented “everything to celebrate,” making her inability to function as the mother she wanted to be even more painful.

“And I’m completely incapable of doing it,” she said. “I felt so guilt ridden [sic] that I was incapable of doing it.” Another moment seared itself into her memory: While walking through an airport, Hayden spotted a magazine cover featuring her face and a headline asking why she had given up her daughter.

“You might as well have taken a knife and stabbed me in the heart,” she recalled. Hayden insisted anyone who truly knew her would know she would have done “absolutely anything” for Kaya. But she argued that loving a child can sometimes mean accepting a decision that does not make the parent feel better.

“Sometimes that means not what you want as a mom or what’s going to make you feel good as a parent, but what’s best for them,” she said. Even the actual custody signing remains a painful memory.

Hayden shared that her father was present, while several other people unexpectedly arrived to witness her signing the paperwork. She recalled sitting in a restaurant and clenching her teeth so tightly so she would not begin sobbing.

Then, she heard people laughing and chuckling nearby. “I can’t believe you can watch somebody who’s obviously doing one of the most painful things in the world,” she remembered thinking.

The actress said signing over custody of Kaya was the "most heartbreaking thing" she had ever done. She later stressed that allowing her daughter to remain with Klitschko ultimately meant putting Kaya's stability ahead of what she herself wanted as a mother. | Source: Getty Images

Afterward, Hayden said she went into the restaurant bathroom and locked herself inside as she confronted “the reality of the situation.” Her memoir revisits experiences from that deeply difficult period of her life. But Kaya’s story did not stop with the custody papers. As Hayden recovered, another consideration emerged: her daughter had built a life of her own.

By the Time Hayden Was Healthy, Kaya Had Built a Life Her Mom Did Not Want to Disrupt

In May 2026, Hayden gave one of her most expansive explanations yet of why Kaya remained with her father in Ukraine even after the actress got healthier. Speaking on Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose” podcast, she explained that Kaya had spent substantial time in Europe and was deeply rooted there.

She had family and friends; she had extracurricular activities; she was learning the languages around her, and, in Hayden’s view, her daughter had already built “a beautiful life.”

By the time she herself finally became healthy, Hayden explained, “I felt like it would have been unfair of me to and selfish of me to try to pull her out [sic] away from this life that she had […] created.” Today, Hayden’s daughter has grown up immersed in a multilingual environment.

By age 9, her mother said Kaya could speak English, Russian, Ukrainian and German, and was beginning to learn French. “She’s a genius!” the proud mom had boasted in 2024.

She also contrasted Kaya’s experience with language education in the United States, arguing that American children often begin learning additional languages only after their brains are less naturally receptive to them.

“But when they’re babies and young, they’re like a sponge,” she said. “You can teach them anything.” Hayden joked that Kaya might not appreciate her language skills yet, but her mother kept assuring her that one day she will. Language is hardly Kaya’s only interest, as she is also, according to her mom, obsessed with horses.

Hayden believed that particular passion may run in the family. “I have horseback riding in my genetics,” she said, noting that her great-uncle once won the Kentucky Derby. She also shared one particularly funny glimpse into Kaya’s enthusiasm.

Hayden received a video of her daughter watching “Racing Stripes,” a movie she apparently loves to replay. Kaya was sitting on a toy hippo and pretending to race it with such enthusiasm that Hayden joked she feared the toy’s ears were going to be ripped off.

The girl is also a strong swimmer and loves the water — another quality Hayden had recognized in herself. “She’s just like me,” the actress previously said. Hayden recalled spending plenty of time in her pool while pregnant with Kaya and working on “Nashville.” “And she came out just loving water,” Hayden said.

By 2026, Hayden revealed that Kaya was not merely interested in horses but actually rides them. Yet the detail that perhaps surprised listeners most was how highly Hayden spoke of her daughter’s emotional development.

Hayden Had Shared That Her Daughter Is ‘Happy,’ ‘Solid’ and Knows She Is Loved

At 11, Kaya has been living what her mother called an “incredible life.” “She’s an incredible little girl,” Hayden had shared with Jay. The actress also spoke about the support system surrounding her. More importantly, she believed her daughter knew she had two parents who love her.

Hayden said she was confident in her heart that Kaya felt supported and insisted that their physical separation had not destroyed their relationship. “I have an incredible relationship with her,” the mom said. Hayden would travel to see Kaya as much as possible and spent significant amounts of time talking to her through FaceTime.

Their conversations were apparently not limited to quick check-ins. “We talk about really deep things,” Hayden revealed. She described what they shared as a “really intense, incredible” bond.

The actress also said she had paid close attention to ensuring Kaya never interpreted the circumstances of her childhood as abandonment. “She in no way feels abandoned,” Hayden made clear. That had been something the mother said she had consciously stayed aware of.

For Hayden, parenting Kaya from another continent also meant trying to lead through example. Her daughter, she noted, was born to two very public and powerful parents pursuing dramatically different careers on separate continents, and Kaya apparently enjoyed watching both of them succeed. “She’s our biggest fan,” Hayden revealed further.

The actress believed seeing what her parents accomplish may help Kaya believe she can accomplish whatever she sets her own mind to. And Hayden saw something even more important in the way Kaya carries herself.

She described her daughter as “good” and “solid” and said Kaya’s ability to love herself offers powerful reassurance that she feels loved. Watching an 11-year-old already show an ability to love both herself and other people, Hayden said, is more than a parent could ask for.

Speaking to Jay, Hayden Also Wanted to Correct One Persistent Misconception

That picture is noticeably different from the image suggested by years of headlines about Hayden “giving up” her daughter. She addressed that characterization directly on Jay’s May podcast. “I think there’s been a common and, you know, a very common misconception that I just gave up my child,” she said. “That could not be further from the truth.”

She had hoped her podcast conversation — along with the fuller account in her memoir — would finally give people enough context to understand how everything unfolded, and acknowledged that the outcome still came with grief.

Jay referred to a passage in Hayden’s memoir about grieving the mother she thought she would be. The actress admitted that grief had “gotten the best” of her many times. In the beginning, she said, it truly was grief. But eventually, the emotion changed.

Because of the relationship she had with Kaya, and because of the way events ultimately unfolded, Hayden said she had reached a place of being capable of feeling profound gratitude alongside the pain. Kaya, she stressed, has “an incredible father” and “an incredible family.”

The situation was still not the version of motherhood Hayden once hoped to experience. Yet she said she felt lucky that Kaya is safe, well-rounded, and was deeply connected to her. That bond was once one of her greatest fears.

When Kaya went away, Hayden worried she might have had to fight extremely hard to maintain any relationship with her daughter. Instead, she later said the outcome became “in a lot of ways” a blessing. That does not mean she did not ache for more. “I always want her here,” Hayden said. “I always miss her.” “But that’s just not the way life is right at this moment,” she acknowledged.

Hayden was also thinking well beyond Kaya’s childhood. She believed that one day her daughter would be an adult with the freedom to decide for herself where she wants to live and how she wants to structure her life, and the actress had faith in what may have happened then.

Hayden believed Kaya would come to her and that the two would have had an “incredible relationship and bond and friendship” of the kind many parents never get to experience with their adult children.

Kaya’s Parents Still Remained Close to Each Other After Their Split

One thing that seemed to have made the unconventional arrangement easier was Hayden’s relationship with Wladimir. “Wlad and I are very close,” she said in 2026. Despite no longer being a couple, she said all three of them communicated regularly.

Sometimes that meant a three-way FaceTime call between Hayden, Kaya, and Wladimir, whom Hayden described as “incredibly supportive.” She said he has brought Kaya to the United States, allowing their daughter to spend time with members of Hayden’s family.

Kaya was able to know her great-grandparents before Hayden’s “grandpy” and “papa” died. “That was really important to me,” the actress explained. Kaya still has Hayden’s nana and grandmother in her life, and she even has an affectionate nickname for one of them: “Super Nana.”

As for Wladimir, the actress went even further than simply describing them as cordial co-parents. “Wlad and I are still best friends,” she said. Hayden believed few people in the world knew her as well as he did.

She also said they continued to have tremendous love for each other, and, perhaps most importantly for Kaya, respect. That respect had translated into a specific parenting rule. Hayden explained that her own childhood shaped an important choice she and Wladimir made after their romantic relationship ended.

Growing up, she said she heard her mother speak negatively about her father. “It hurt to constantly, you know, hear the person that you love be put down,” Hayden explained. Because of that experience, she and Wladimir had promised they would never speak negatively about one another to Kaya.

According to Hayden, both had kept that promise. Instead, they made sure to speak only highly of each other to their daughter. Additionally, Hayden said she checked that Kaya remained respectful toward and loving with her father.

She also made sure Kaya understood how highly she regarded him, having called Wladimir a “hero” and “one of the bravest people” she knew. And by her account, Kaya “loves both of us to death.”

That united front matters because the actress knew her daughter may eventually encounter a much less tidy version of their family story. In fact, some of that version is now contained in Hayden’s own memoir, which also surrounds a concern she has voiced perhaps most poignantly.

There Is One Thing Hayden Did Not Want Kaya to Believe

Hayden released “This Is Me: A Reckoning” on May 19, 2026. The book examines extraordinarily personal parts of her life, including childhood fame, romantic relationships, her younger brother Jansen’s death, difficult experiences in Hollywood, and the painful circumstances surrounding Kaya living primarily with her father.

At a Los Angeles event discussing the book, Hayden was asked to look ahead to the day when Kaya herself might read it. “I don’t want her ever to read it and think any of it was her fault,” Hayden said in People’s report on what she hopes Kaya understands about the memoir.

“I love her so dearly,” she continued. Hayden also acknowledged that the complicated story contained in the book is “a lot” for an 11-year-old to process. Still, she intended to continue protecting Kaya while her daughter is still young.

Hayden further explained that she was struggling with her mental health and substance abuse at the time and had lost her sense of herself. She also pushed back against another misconception — the idea that she had always been forced into treatment. Instead, she said she had been the one asking for help.

Hayden described herself as a “mother lion” who would have “burnt the whole world down” for her child. Still, Wladimir believed Kaya should remain in Europe while Hayden sought treatment for alcoholism and substance abuse. “That was incredibly difficult,” the late mom admitted.

“The fact that my child wasn’t going to be with me all day, every day was…you can’t put words to it.” For Hayden, it was not one clean emotion but “multiple feelings really layered together.”

Hayden Panettiere’s Companion on Her Final Flight Out of Los Angeles Identified as Police Open Investigation

She boarded a flight out of Los Angeles with someone tied to one of the darkest chapters of her life — and less than 24 hours later, she was gone.

Hayden Panettiere’s death on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at age 36 has left fans searching for answers, and the details trickling out only raise more questions.

Behind the headlines sits a story that stretches back years, touching on old wounds, a health complaint she’d been managing quietly, and a statement she made just months earlier addressing accusations that had followed her for years.

Now, as police in South Carolina confirm that an investigation is open, the pieces of Panettiere’s final days are starting to come together.

Police Confirm Investigation Into Her Death

Panettiere’s father, Skip Panettiere, confirmed her passing in a statement Sunday night, five days before what would have been her 37th birthday. “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,” he said, according to a statement obtained by NBC News.

Her publicist, Kasey Kitchen, said the actress’s death was under investigation but offered no further details at the time. Police in Greenville, South Carolina, said officers and EMS personnel responded to a report of an unresponsive woman at around 1:50 p.m. Sunday.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified as Panettiere. An acquaintance had placed the 911 call. Investigators said the preliminary findings had not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances, but the case remains under review by the Greenville Police Department alongside the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.

The Man Who Flew With Her Out of Los Angeles

One day before she died, Panettiere left Los Angeles — and she wasn’t alone. Sources with direct knowledge told TMZ that she flew south from LA on Saturday with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson. Sources said Hickerson’s family was aware of the trip.

The pairing carries weight. Hickerson and Panettiere’s relationship has been marked by turmoil dating back to 2018, and in April 2021, he was sentenced to 45 days in jail after pleading no contest to two felony counts of injuring a spouse, cohabitant, or girlfriend, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office confirmed to People.

Court records showed Hickerson faced eight charges tied to alleged abusive incidents between May 2019 and January 2020, including four counts of corporal injury on a cohabitant and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

He was also sentenced to four years of probation, 52 domestic violence classes, $500 in restitution, and a five-year protective order. At the time, Panettiere spoke out about the alleged abuse.

“I am coming forward with the truth about what happened to me with the hope that my story will empower others in abusive relationships to get the help they need and deserve,” she said. “I am prepared to do my part to make sure this man never hurts anyone again.”

Despite that history, the two remained connected. By March 2026, they were photographed together again, this time under very different circumstances.

The Health Issue She’d Been Managing for a Year

A source close to Panettiere told TMZ she had reportedly been complaining about back pain for the past year — a detail that adds new context to a scene captured just five months before her death.

In March 2026, Panettiere was photographed leaving Los Angeles International Airport on crutches, with Hickerson at her side rolling her carry-on.

Her representative addressed the sighting in a statement to E! News: “Hayden has been privately managing a temporary nerve condition, which is the reason she was seen using crutches. She is recovering well and is on the mend.”

Panettiere herself offered a brief explanation in footage obtained by TMZ as she loaded her luggage into a car. “Just had some pinched nerves in my lower back, but I’m feeling good,” she said. Sources close to the situation insisted at the time that despite stepping out together, Panettiere and Hickerson were “just friends.”

Her Statement Amid Claims She Abandoned Her Daughter

Months before her death, Panettiere addressed a different kind of pain — accusations that had trailed her for years. Speaking on Jay Shetty’s podcast in May 2026, she pushed back directly against claims that she had given up custody of her daughter, Kaya, and walked away.

“The idea that anybody would think that I would just give away my child and be okay with it is heartbreaking,” she said, “couldn’t be further from the truth.”

Kaya, whom Panettiere shares with ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko, has lived primarily in Europe since she was roughly two and a half years old, after Klitschko decided it would be best for her. Panettiere said the decision devastated her at the time. “I went like a mother lion,” she said. “I would have burnt the world down for my child.”

She explained that by the time she felt healthy enough to fight the arrangement, Kaya had already built a life abroad — friends, extracurricular activities, and fluency in multiple languages. Pulling her out of it, Panettiere said, would have been selfish.

“She in no way feels abandoned — and that’s something that I’ve made sure to stay on top of and be very aware of,” she said.

Why She ‘Sought Treatment’

The custody arrangement traced back to a period Panettiere described as one of the hardest of her life. She told Shetty she had been battling postpartum depression, anxiety, and substance abuse in the years following Kaya’s birth, and that she made the choice herself to get help.

“The misconception is that I have been in the past forced into treatment when, in fact, I have been the one who sought it out,” she said.

She described losing herself while trying to act her way through the depression, saying the people around her, including Klitschko, didn’t initially understand what was happening.

“I didn’t know what was going on,” she said. What followed, she explained, was years of cycling through depression, anxiety, alcoholism, and substance abuse as she searched for a way out.

Panettiere had spoken about this period before. In an April 2023 interview with The New York Times, she recalled a moment when she no longer recognized herself. “My eyes were yellow,” she said, adding that doctors told her at 27 that her liver was failing and she was septic.

She left “Nashville” during its fourth season in 2015 to enter treatment. She re-entered treatment again in 2021 for eight months. By the time of that Times interview, she said she’d been sober for nearly two years.

A Family Already Familiar With Loss

Panettiere’s death comes just over three years after her only sibling, Jansen Panettiere, died unexpectedly at 28. The family confirmed at the time, in a statement to CNN, that a medical examiner cited cardiomegaly, or an enlarged heart, coupled with aortic valve complications as the cause.

Jansen had followed his sister into acting as a child, later building a career as a voice actor best known for playing Shovelmouth in 2006’s “Ice Age: The Meltdown.”

Panettiere spoke about the toll of that loss in a September 2024 appearance on Today, admitting she still wasn’t sure she’d fully processed it. “When you lose somebody that you saw in all the important moments in your life, standing right next to you, it just rocks your world,” she said. “I want to leave this world a better place in his name.”
