OOh! Wow!! Simon Cowell told her 500 views was terrible. Her response The most powerful

16-year-old Jasine Little thought no one liked her singing. Then she stepped onto the stage and left Simon Cowell calling her a “world star.” Watch the viral video!

Before she even sang a single note, she admitted something to the judges that made the entire room go silent. She had tried to share her gift with the world once before, posting a single video to the internet.

The result? A measly 500 views. To a young girl dreaming of a future in music, that number felt like a total rejection.

A Heart-Wrenching Admission

When Simon Cowell asked why the numbers were so low, her answer was enough to break your heart. “People don’t like to watch my videos,” she whispered, her voice trembling with the fear of being judged.

She stood there, feeling like her throat was literally closing up. The pressure of 4,000 sets of eyes was a “humongous cage of butterflies” exploding in her stomach.

For Jasine, singing wasn’t just a hobby; it was an escape from the crushing reality of peer pressure and the need to fit in. On that stage, she wasn’t just auditioning for a show—she was fighting for her identity.

The Moment Everything Changed

Simon warned her that she wasn’t “selling herself well,” and the tension in the room was thick enough to cut with a knife. It looked like she might fall apart before the music even started.

But then, the first chords of Mary J. Blige’s “I’m Going Down” began to play.

What happened next wasn’t just a performance; it was a transformation. The shy, stuttering girl vanished, replaced by a vocal powerhouse that left the judges gasping for air.

  • The audience erupted in a way Jasine had never experienced.
  • Nicole Scherzinger was moved to tears by the raw emotion.
  • Simon Cowell sat in stunned silence, realizing he had just witnessed the birth of a star.

From “Terrible” to “World Star”

By the time she hit the final note, the girl with “500 hits” was gone forever. Simon didn’t just give her a yes; he told her she could be a “world star”.

The judges realized that behind the lack of confidence was a “superstar voice” and a “brilliant gem” of a person. For the first time in her life, Jasine Little didn’t just feel like a girl from Florida—she felt truly accepted.

You have to see the moment her voice breaks through the nerves to understand why this audition is still being talked about today.

Martin Lawrence, 61, Turns Heads with Dramatic New Look After Health Update — Photos

Martin Lawrence is sparking fresh buzz after fans noticed a striking transformation following his recent health update. The comedian’s latest photos have people doing double takes — and the reactions have been hard to miss.

At 61, the comedian is back on the road for his “Y’all Still Know” tour — and it’s his recent January 2026 photos from Washington, D.C., and Virginia that have truly set social media ablaze. Fans weren’t just reacting to the performances; they were fixated on how noticeably different he looks.

For months, there had been quiet concern about Lawrence’s health, especially after a few public appearances left fans wondering how he was really doing.

Back in a 2024 interview alongside Will Smith, Lawrence addressed the chatter head-on, reassuring listeners that he was doing just fine, saying he was “in God’s hands” and that there was “no need for people to be concerned.”

“I’m fine, I’m in God’s hands. I’m blessed you know I’m glad to be waking up every day. I’m all good, no need for people to uh be concerned,” he said during the interview. At the time, that was enough to calm nerves — but fast forward to now, and recent photos have shifted the conversation in a new direction.

In January 2026, the “Bad Boys” actor shared a glimpse into his ongoing “Y’all Still Know” tour, posting photos from Washington, D.C., and Virginia with the caption, “DC and VA brought the love! #martinlawrence #yallstillknowtour 📸 @niceshotnate 👕 @sharhondastockman @dabrahamcc.”

At first glance, it looked like a standard tour update. But fans quickly zeroed in on something else entirely: his appearance. Just two days later, Lawrence posted again, this time writing, “With God and some hard work, nothin is impossible. #martinlawrence #yallstillknowtour.”

That phrase — “hard work” — suddenly carried a lot more weight. Because by then, social media was already filling with reactions, with many pointing to a noticeable change in his appearance. One fan wrote, “Holy, he looks so much younger.” Another added, “He looks younger, too.”

Others focused on his overall condition, with comments like, “Sure looks healthier.” and “He looks really great and healthy, too.” And then came the comparisons that really got people talking, “He really went back in time! He’s looking like he’s ready to film another season of Martin. Love to see our legends healthy and thriving.”

Some fans even pointed out what they believed was a key factor behind the change, writing, “Weight loss really suits him, he looks way more energetic and confident here.” Another summed it up, “He looks so much better.”

In his second post, reactions continued to pour in, with one fan commenting, “You lost so many kilos… great job.” Another wrote, “Martin, you got thin!!” The consensus? Fans are stunned — in the best way.

These posts, shared just days apart during his tour, now offer a side-by-side moment that fans have been dissecting in real time — from his slimmer frame to the sharper, more energized presence many say stands out immediately. And it’s that visible shift, more than anything he’s said, that has fueled the reaction online.

To see why the conversation has taken off, it helps to look at how Lawrence appeared in the months leading up to this moment — and how different the latest tour photos feel by comparison. Take a look at the pre-transformation photos first:

New Details Released About Utah Mother and Daughter Found to Have Passed Away in Las Vegas Hotel

What started as a missing persons report ended in a hotel room tragedy that no one saw coming. And now, newly surfaced records are painting a far more complicated picture of the days and years leading up to it.

The woman and her 11-year-old daughter found dead in a reported murder-suicide at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas were identified as Tawnia McGeehan, 34, of West Jordan, Utah, and her daughter, Addilyn Smith.

But as heartbreaking as the discovery was, court documents now suggest that trouble may have been lurking in their family life for a long time, particularly relating to Addilyn’s father and his attitude toward their daughter.

A Custody Battle Years In The Making

According to the Clark County Coroner’s Office, Tawnia’s death has officially been ruled a suicide. But authorities were still awaiting official rulings on Addilyn’s cause and manner of death as of February 17, 2026.

Although the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate, legal documents have revealed a deeper consideration in their case.

These newly reviewed court records outline a custody fight between Tawnia and Addilyn’s father, Bradley Smith, that stretched back more than a decade.

The pair’s divorce proceedings began in 2015, and a decree was finalized in 2017 in Utah’s 4th District Court. What followed were years of filings, motions, and heated disputes over parent-time and custody arrangements.

In May 2024, a judge updated the divorce decree to grant both parents equal responsibility and time with their child. The new arrangement established joint legal and physical custody, requiring the child to switch homes every other week.

On paper, the order appeared structured and clear.

Exchanges took place at the child’s school during the academic year, shifting to the Herriman Police Department during breaks.

Furthermore, to keep the process orderly, the court required the parents to park at least five spaces away from each other. The order also strictly forbade both parties from filming their daughter during these times.

There was even a provision allowing one parent to keep Addilyn overnight if the other failed to pick her up from school during scheduled parent-time. This level of detail hinted at a relationship strained far beyond the ordinary.

And that was only the latest chapter.

Earlier Rulings Raised Serious Concerns

Digging further into the records reveals an even more contentious period.

In December 2020, after a temporary order hearing, the court granted Bradley sole physical custody on a temporary basis. The judge determined that changing custody was in Addilyn’s best interest at the time.

The court expressed significant worry regarding Tawnia’s actions, noting that her conduct mirrored patterns of parental alienation.

Furthermore, the judge found that she had committed domestic violence while the child was nearby. Ultimately, the ruling cast serious doubt on her capacity to cooperate effectively as a parent.

The court even mandated that a third party oversee her visitation sessions, requiring her to cover all associated costs.

In May 2020, several months prior, the court commanded Tawnia to attend a hearing to justify why the judge should not hold her in contempt.

This legal notice stemmed from allegations that she had refused to provide scheduled visitation and failed to cover insurance premiums. The court explicitly cautioned her that these violations could result in penalties, such as a 30-day jail sentence.

To sum up, the legal documents show a long history of requests to change custody and a move from Salt Lake County to Utah County in early 2015. All of these filings paint a clear picture of a years-long fight over Addilyn.

Yet the courtroom battles were only part of what was unfolding.

Alarming Allegations Surface Online

In the days following the tragedy, a Facebook page called Vacationland Mama shared troubling screenshots that allegedly came from Tawnia’s now-private Instagram account.

The posts appear to show text messages sent by Bradley.

One message, uploaded on February 22, 2018, read, “I’ve told you easily 4 [expletive] times now that she’s going to daycare you stupid [expletive] [expletive].” Another stated, “You are one jealous fat ugly stupid [expletive] of a [expletive].”

According to Tawnia, she had simply asked whether their daughter was already at daycare and suggested that her own mother could watch Addilyn if not. The response was seemingly that explosive.

But the texts were not the only claims shared online.

In another lengthy post, Tawnia allegedly wrote, “I need advice I have no idea what to do since I am terrified of Brad.”

She went on to describe several supposed incidents involving Addilyn during visits with her father and his girlfriend. According to the post, Addilyn had begun seeing a therapist and had disclosed troubling experiences.

“The things Addi has been telling me in the last two weeks is awful,” Tawnia wrote, explaining that her daughter said she was restricted from eating pizza at a birthday party and was only allowed chocolate.

She also claimed that Addilyn had not been properly bathed and had developed rashes. Even more disturbing were allegations that her daughter had been told not to tell her about things that happened at her father’s house.

Tawnia wrote that the therapist had advised her to contact Child Protective Services. Still, she admitted to being afraid of retaliation. “I just can’t make up my mind on calling CPS,” she wrote.

In yet another post, she alleged that during Christmas 2020, Addilyn told her that her father’s girlfriend had kicked her while Bradley was passed out on the couch.

“Whole [expletive] reason I was so [expletive] off when they amended the protective order to where she can be around Addi, but not alone,” the post read. “I knew [expletive] well… that brad would be passed out and not do anything.”

These claims have not been independently verified, and no charges related to those allegations have been publicly announced.

The Father’s Record

Apart from the custody battle, 2News reported that Bradley has several other legal marks on his record. His history involves a 2023 DUI, multiple traffic tickets, and child support liens from both 2015 and 2024.

Additionally, he faced a trespassing charge in 2013, though the court eventually dropped that case. While those records do not directly tie to the events in Las Vegas, they add another layer to an already complex narrative.

What Happened in Las Vegas?

Tawnia and Addilyn traveled to Las Vegas for a cheer competition over the weekend. When the pair failed to arrive, alarm bells rang. According to ABC4, Utah Xtreme Cheer reported them missing on Sunday morning, February 15, after they did not show up for the event.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a welfare check at the Rio Hotel and Casino around 10:45 a.m. on Sunday.

Police knocked repeatedly and called out to the mother and daughter, but there was no response, Lt. Robert Price said during a press conference.

After officers cleared the scene, hotel security continued receiving urgent calls from concerned family and friends. Eventually, security entered the room.

Inside, they discovered a woman in her mid-30s and a preteen girl deceasedUXC Coaches identified the deceased as Tawnia and Addilyn. Police believe the deaths were an apparent murder-suicide, according to ABC4.

“This is a sad and tragic incident, and our hearts go out to the family,” police reportedly said during the press conference. The investigation remains ongoing.

Why the Loss Is Hitting So Hard

Addilyn wasn’t just another athlete. In an emotional interview cited by ABC4, Utah Xtreme Cheer gym owner Kory Uyetake described her as the team’s spark.

Addilyn “was kind of a hype man on the team, she was always the person to get up there and get the kids pumped up when things weren’t really going their way.”

“She was an athlete that just embodied everything that we that we [sic] strive to have and we strive to do and teach our kids at my gym.”

The cheer organization later shared a heartbreaking tribute on Instagram, writing, “With the heaviest hearts, we share the devastating news that our sweet athlete Addi has passed away.”

“We are completely heartbroken. No words do the situation justice. She was so beyond loved, and she will always be a part of the UXC family,” the post read on.

‘Lilo & Stitch’ Star Daveigh Chase Dead at 35 as Details About Her Life Away From Hollywood Surface — Photos

The voice behind one of Disney’s most beloved characters spent years out of the public eye before tragedy struck. Now, as loved ones share painful details of her final chapter, a haunting picture of her life outside Hollywood is beginning to emerge.

Former child actress Daveigh Chase has died at the age of 35. According to TMZ, Daveigh’s boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, said she died Tuesday from meningitis and a blood infection that led to septic complications and caused her body to shut down.

She had reportedly been admitted to a Los Angeles hospital earlier this month because of malnutrition. In a fundraiser created two days ago, he wrote, “Recently, everything changed. Daveigh was diagnosed with meningitis and several serious blood infections. Her condition has become critical, and the doctors have told me she may not have much time left.”

Daveigh became a household name in 2002 after voicing Lilo in Disney’s hit animated film “Lilo & Stitch” and later reprised the role in “Stitch! The Movie” and the television series.

She also lent her voice to Chihiro Ogino in the English-language version of “Spirited Away” and terrified audiences as Samara Morgan in “The Ring,” earning the MTV Movie Award for Best Villain.

Her career continued with roles in “Big Love,” “Donnie Darko,” “Beethoven’s 5th,” “ER,” “Mercy,” and “Sabrina the Teenage Witch.” However, after 2016, her acting work largely came to a halt.

The Instagram Photo and Tumblr Post Daveigh Never Updated Again

Even as public sightings became increasingly rare, traces of Daveigh’s online presence remained frozen in time. One of her final Instagram uploads, dated November 20, 2017, appeared nearly nine years ago.

She wore ripped skinny jeans, a flowing dark blouse with bell sleeves, aviator sunglasses, and a necklace while posing casually along a roadside. In the caption, she wrote, “Unicorns DO exist 😻.”

Her last known Tumblr activity dates back to 2017. The post, shared on her account daveighsays, was a reblogged still from the 2011 film “Violet & Daisy.” The image featured a red folding chair with a handwritten note draped across it that read:

“If you touch you DIE.”

Beneath the image appeared the caption “violet and daisy (2011).”

The Video That Sent Loved Ones Racing to Skid Row

As those old posts remained untouched online, people close to Daveigh were trying desperately to reach her. According to the New York Post, her longtime manager, John Ryan, and stepsister, Gaia Brown, hired a private investigator about a year ago in hopes of locating the actress and convincing her to accept treatment.

Ryan said he was alerted near the end of 2025 to a video circulating online that allegedly showed Daveigh in a shocking condition. The footage, which was later removed from social media, reportedly showed an extremely thin Daveigh, barely conscious and lying on the floor of what appeared to be a tent or trailer on Skid Row.

In a post showing her living conditions, someone on X wrote, “She looked sick.” In another post, one person said, “Drug user??? She was scared and helpless… this isn’t normal and it’s very scary!” while another asked, “What did they do to her?”

Ryan said he managed to speak with her by phone after the video surfaced and immediately headed to Skid Row to bring her to treatment. But by the time he arrived, she had already vanished. Ryan told the outlet:

“We were so close to finding her. Daveigh was the sweetest and brightest light in Hollywood. I can’t believe this is real. Her legacy and work will live on forever.”

Ryan said they had planned to bring her to Los Angeles to regain her strength before transferring her to a rehabilitation facility in Costa Rica owned by a friend.

He was also reportedly developing a documentary about the search, titled “Finding Lilo,” and added that major studios had already expressed interest.

The Fortune Daveigh Never Claimed Despite Years of Searching

Ryan later shared another heartbreaking revelation. According to a separate New York Post report, Daveigh allegedly had millions of dollars in unclaimed residuals tied to her “Lilo & Stitch” contract.

Ryan said Disney had agreed to give her a percentage of merchandise sales, theme park attractions, residuals, and products using her voice instead of paying her a one-time fee.

He continued receiving SAG-AFTRA notices for years, informing him that checks remained uncollected. According to Ryan, Daveigh was allegedly battling heroin and fentanyl addiction and had become “too far gone” to access the money despite repeated attempts to contact her.

The Childhood Dream Daveigh Once Thought She Could Handle

Long before people searched for her in Los Angeles, Daveigh seemed destined for a very different future. Born Daveigh Elizabeth Schwallier in Las Vegas on July 24, 1990, she moved with her family to Oregon just weeks after her birth.

She was homeschooled and won the Little Miss Oregon beauty pageant at age six before appearing in a Campbell’s Soup commercial and eventually landing the role that changed her life.

At the 2002 premiere of “Lilo & Stitch,” an 11-year-old Daveigh was asked whether she could handle the expected fame. “Well, it is just my voice,” she said at the time. “But some people who worked for Disney have recognized me already. I don’t think people will really know who I am. I guess I’ll have to deal with it!”

What Happened After Daveigh Quietly Stepped Away From Acting

Behind the scenes, however, her family life became increasingly complicated. Daveigh’s father, John David Schwallier, said she had struggled with drugs since the age of 13. He also revealed that he had not spoken with his daughter since she was 19 and that she had experienced a painful falling-out with her mother around the same time.

John said Daveigh and Roy had been homeless and living in Los Angeles near the hospital where she ultimately died. “Him and her were destitute [sic],” he said.

In the years after stepping away from acting, Daveigh also faced several legal troubles. In November 2017, TMZ reported that she was arrested after police stopped a BMW in Hollywood that had been reported stolen. Although she was not driving, authorities booked her on suspicion of being in a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

The following year, The Blast reported that she was charged with possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was also questioned in connection with a separate 2017 incident involving a man who died after being left outside a hospital. However, authorities never accused her of causing his death or filed charges against her in that case.

Roy’s Message Revealed What Daveigh Wanted Most

As her health deteriorated, Roy launched a fundraiser asking for help. In a GoFundMe campaign, he wrote, “Daveigh Chase, my girlfriend, has always been a light in my life.”

He added, “All she ever wanted was a place where we could live together, feel safe, and be happy. Now, more than ever, I want to give her that sense of home and peace in her final days.”

For many fans, Daveigh will forever remain the spirited voice behind Lilo and the unforgettable face of Samara. Yet the details emerging after her death reveal a much more complicated story — one marked by fame, estrangement, years of

TikToker Rachel Tussey Passes Away at 47

“We ask that our family be given time and space to grieve our unimaginable loss,” a family statement read.

She smiled through nerves, asked strangers for prayers, and spoke about the next chapter. Now, those words feel unsettlingly final — and people can’t stop replaying them.

Before that haunting final moment, Rachel Tussey was known for something very different.

Who Was Rachel Tussey

Rachel built her online presence on something rare: raw honesty mixed with encouragement. She wasn’t a flashy influencer chasing trends but rather a relatable voice for women navigating midlife, family, and self-image.

Through her TikTok account, Rachel invited followers into her daily experiences, often blending humor, faith, and vulnerability in ways that resonated deeply. Friends and supporters described her as the kind of person who didn’t just post positivity — she lived it.

According to her family’s GoFundMe page, Rachel was a “vibrant mother, devoted wife, and a true servant to her community,” someone who consistently stepped in to help others without hesitation.

Whether organizing donation efforts after Hurricane Helene or simply being present for someone in need, Rachel had a reputation for showing up. That reputation made what followed even harder for many to process.

What Seemed Like a New Beginning

In the days leading up to her surgery, Rachel appeared hopeful — even excited. She openly shared that she was undergoing a “mommy makeover,” a cosmetic procedure she had long anticipated.

According to TMZ, the surgery initially appeared routine, something thousands undergo every year. But Rachel’s own words, captured in her final TikTok video, now carry an emotional weight no one expected at the time.

She said, “Okay, here it is. It’s my turn. I feel a big range of emotions, but mostly it is absolutely excitement and gratitude. Um, my husband’s here. I’ve got a great support team, and I’m really looking forward to this next chapter.”

“If you’re a praying person, I will absolutely take your prayers. I’m getting closer. They’re getting ready to do my IVs, and they’re asking all the questions, and I’m starting to get so many incredible messages from you guys.”

“Um, please pray. I know it’s gonna be great, and I’ve waited a really long time for this. Um, I’m in good hands. I know God’s got my back, and, uh, let’s do this.”

At the time, it sounded like courage. Now, many say it sounds like something else entirely.

When Everything Changed

What followed that video was anything but routine. The GoFundMe page revealed that Rachel’s procedure “tragically resulted in an unfortunate situation of medical neglect.”

The details became clearer in a statement from the family: She was placed on a ventilator and remained under heavy sedation as doctors assessed the damage.

“On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, Rachel underwent a surgery that tragically resulted in an unfortunate situation of medical neglect. Following the procedure, she suffered severe brain damage after extended loss of oxygen and was placed on a ventilator under sedation.”

Despite her family’s hopes, medical evaluations confirmed that Rachel had very minimal brain activity, leaving her in what was described as a vegetative state.

On March 5, her husband Jeremy Tussey faced what the family described as an “unimaginable and heartbreaking decision” — removing her from life support.

Even then, Rachel continued breathing, but her prognosis remained dire as she was transitioned into hospice care.

Where Her Final Days Unfolded

Rachel spent her last days surrounded by loved ones, a stark contrast to the vibrant life she once shared online. On March 18, 2026, Jeremy later updated supporters with devastating news, writing, “We are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and generous support shown to our family during this incredibly difficult time.”

He added, “Last night, my wife Rachel lost her battle while in hospice care. Rachel was an amazing wife, mother, and person who touched so many lives. We will carry her memory with us always. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with our family.”

Her family echoed that grief in a statement to TMZ, saying:

“It is with deep regret and sadness that we share the news of Rachel’s passing. We would like to thank everyone, around the world, who faithfully prayed for Rachel and our entire family throughout this extraordinarily difficult time in our family’s life.”

“The outpouring of support, from our community and beyond, has provided us with so much comfort at a time when it was dearly needed. We ask that our family be given time and space to grieve our unimaginable loss.”

Why Her Story Is Sparking Debate

As news spread, Rachel’s story quickly became part of a larger conversation — one about cosmetic surgery, expectations, and risk. The GoFundMe description’s mention of “medical neglect” has raised questions, though no official determination has been publicly confirmed.

Meanwhile, the doctor who performed the procedure has firmly denied any wrongdoing. In a statement to TMZ, Dr. Tork said, “I am heartbroken for Rachel Tussey and her family. My thoughts remain with her loved ones during this devastating time. Like them, I am struggling to understand how this could have occurred.”

He continued, “Rachel’s surgery was completed successfully and without complications. When I last saw her in the recovery room as she prepared for her planned overnight stay, she was awake and in excellent condition with her husband by her side. Out of respect for Rachel and her family, and due to patient privacy laws, I will not comment further.”

That contrast — between a “successful” surgery and a tragic outcome — has only deepened the mystery surrounding her death.

The Internet Reacts in Real Time

As Rachel’s final video circulated, viewers began dissecting every moment, every word, every expression. Many felt there was something almost prophetic about her tone.

One person wrote, “She knew. Her soul knew!!!!! Asked for prayer twice and a cracked voice.” Another commented, “she was already so scared like something would go wrong. poor girl I hope you recover [sic].”

A third shared, “this hurts my heart 🥺 ladies, we do NOT need surgery on our bodies. Please know that you are beautiful just as you are [sic] ❤️.” And one particularly striking comment read, “It’s like she’s telling us without telling us smh.”

Whether coincidence or intuition, the emotional response has been overwhelming—and deeply personal for many viewers.

How Loved Ones Are Remembering Her

Rachel’s family continues to share glimpses of her impact, both online and offline. In a Facebook tribute, Ryan Tussey wrote, “😞 It’s with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Rachel Tussey. Rachel passed peacefully last night with her husband Jeremy Tussey at her side. She fought so hard through everything, and her strength never wavered,” adding:

James Higginbotham’s Parents’ Interview Draws Attention for All the Wrong Reasons

The search for a missing college student had already become every family’s nightmare, but one televised appearance left viewers uneasy for a reason nobody expected.

James “Weston” Higginbotham’s parents, Nancy and Keith Higginbotham, spoke publicly while search crews in Japan were still looking for their 20-year-old son.

They shared hope, fear, and the final pieces of his last known movements, but the interview later drew attention for their strange demeanor.

A Family Trip Became A Desperate Search

On June 4, 2026, Nancy and Keith appeared on “Fox & Friends First” from Japan, two days before their son was found. Weston, an Auburn University student from Alabama, had vanished during their family trip to Kyoto to celebrate his brother’s high school graduation.

Host Todd Piro began the conversation by acknowledging the pain of the situation. Nancy said she last saw her son on May 29 in their hotel room.

She explained that the family had been arguing a little after days of close travel. According to Nancy, they decided to split up for a while, with Weston going his own way and the rest of the family going theirs.

But no one was worried. Nancy said they could initially follow Weston through Life360. He went near a river, stopped at a couple of stores, and then got on a train. Afterward, his location disappeared.

They went on an interview, hoping to raise more awareness about their missing son. Here are the Higginbothams in Japan on a picture uploaded on June 3, 2026 | Source: Facebook/Nancy Higginbotham

Nancy recalled that the app went completely dark. Their messages were not going through, and the family could no longer track him.

Todd then asked whether Weston could swim, since he had been seen near a river. Nancy answered that her son was a triathlete and had recently completed his first half Ironman.

Additionally, Weston also loved trails and hiking. Although he hadn’t mentioned a specific hiking plan in Kyoto, his father believed that if there was a trail nearby, his son would probably be interested.

The parents were also careful to explain that Weston wanting time alone did not feel strange by itself. Nancy said he may have needed space, just like anyone else might.

But Keith made clear that disappearing for a long stretch was completely different. According to them, Weston had never done that before. They described how they usually stayed connected as a family and knew where each person was.

Still, the most important part is that they spoke about their son with deep affection. Nancy called him sweet, vegan, and gentle, saying he “wouldn’t kill a mosquito.”

She also emphasized more of his experience outdoors. Weston had hiked in the Pyrenees Mountains and Acadia, and Nancy believed he was capable of surviving in the wilderness.

At that moment, the interview appeared to be a family’s plea for visibility. They wanted his face and story shared worldwide. But as the clip spread, many viewers began focusing less on the facts of the disappearance and more on the parents’ behavior and expressions.

Viewers Focused On Their Calm Appearance

During the interview, Nancy and Keith sat close together. Nancy rested her shoulder against Keith’s chest as they answered questions. Their faces were serious for the most part, although some grins appeared. Still, many viewers saw them as unusually calm and composed. Almost too steady for such a terrifying situation.

That impression became the center of online discussion. People who watched the clip began questioning how their emotions of lack thereof were showing on camera. Keep scrolling to see the video.

On the official clip of that interview, one person wrote, “It’s strange how the parents are so nonchalant. It’s actually quite disturbing. 🤔” Another added, “This interview is so eerie.”

Someone else commented, “Almost like mom Is smirking 😢 [sic].” A fourth viewer wrote, “It’s strange—a mother keeping a smile on her face while talking about her missing son.”

The discussion did not stay in one place. On TikTok, viewers raised similar questions, though some offered a more sympathetic explanation. One person wrote, “I think she’s in shock.” Another asked, “Is she smiling?” A third said, “This is a weird reaction from a mother in my opinion.”

The comments were blunt, and they showed how quickly a public plea can be judged frame by frame. Still, grief rarely looks the same from one person to another, especially when someone is speaking live on television while waiting for news.

This interview happened before the family received the worst possible news. Sadly, on June 6, 2026, the search officially ended as rescuers found Weston, and on June 8, TMZ revealed that no cause of death would be released.

But what happened? Let’s examine the timeline of his discovery. As previously reported, for days, Weston’s loved ones followed every clue, chased every reported sighting, and searched dense mountain trails hoping for a different ending. Investigators, meanwhile, worked to retrace the Auburn student’s route through Kyoto using surveillance footage, train records, and phone data.

A Family Adventure Begins in Japan

Weston traveled to Japan with his family on May 25, according to information later shared by his mother, Nancy. The Alabama family had been exploring the country together when events took a devastating turn just days into the trip.

Nancy described Weston as an experienced traveler, an excellent navigator, and a college student studying environmental engineering. She also said he was passionate about sustainability and nature.

The Argument No One Expected

One of the most surprising details to emerge during the search involved a disagreement between Weston and his mother shortly before he disappeared. In an interview with NBC News, Nancy revealed that Weston walked away from his parents following an argument about ChatGPT.

According to her, Weston strongly opposed society’s growing dependence on artificial intelligence because of his environmental concerns.

“We had an argument because I was using ChatGPT too much to try to help us navigate the trip and find the best restaurants and do this and that,” Nancy said. “We try never to use it, and I totally agree with him. It was just a dumb, dumb argument to have,” she added during the interview.

Nancy said her son became emotionally distressed afterward, but stressed that she did not believe he posed any danger to himself or anyone else. “He’s such a pacifist. When he gets mad, he just likes [sic] retreat to himself,” she said.

At the time, nobody could have known the disagreement would become one of the last publicly known interactions between mother and son.

May 29: The Last Confirmed Place

As investigators worked to retrace Weston’s movements, surveillance footage and phone data helped establish a timeline. According to ABC News 4 reporting and updates shared by Nancy, Weston was last confirmed in the Kyoto area on May 29, 2026.

His final confirmed purchase was reportedly made at a hardware store called Kohnan in the Kyoto area. Investigators later determined that Weston arrived at Kyoto Station at approximately 8: 15 p.m. His phone then reportedly lost network service around 8: 29 p.m.

The family said evidence suggested he had boarded a local train on either the Biwako Line or Kosei Line and was traveling east. The biggest breakthrough came when police reviewed surveillance footage. Nancy later revealed that authorities narrowed the search area after determining that Weston got off at Yamashina Station, located east of central Kyoto.

What happened after that remains unclear. Police could not confirm whether he boarded another train after leaving the station.

June 2: The Search Narrows Toward the Mountains

As investigators pieced together his route, attention shifted toward the nature-rich areas surrounding Yamashina. Nancy said Weston was an experienced hiker who may have intentionally headed toward nearby trails and mountain paths.

Among the areas identified by the family were Bishamon-do, Lake Biwa Canal, Misasagi, Keage, Nanzen-ji, the Kyoto Trail, Mount Otowa, and the Daigo region.

On June 2, Nancy shared an emotional update as the family intensified its search efforts. “Reddit has been my main lead source, and they have just taken down my posts. I need help. Spread this post, please,” she wrote.

As the search expanded, Nancy urged locals to check hotels, hostels, internet cafés, train stations, convenience stores, parks, temples, shrines, rivers, bridges, and hiking areas throughout Kyoto and neighboring regions.

She also shared more about her son, describing him as a vegan, an environmental engineering student, an excellent traveler, and a skilled navigator. “He is a vegan, in college studying environmental engineering and is an excellent student, very well travelled and an excellent navigator,” she wrote.

Nancy also revealed that she and her husband had already entered wooded areas near Yamashina during nighttime searches. “My husband and I went last night with flashlights and headlamps and didn’t get too far because we weren’t prepared for the wildlife we encountered,” she wrote. “If anyone wants to join us after the storm, I would be grateful.”

The mother ended her appeal with a heartfelt plea for compassion as rumors and online speculation spread. “Please be kind. We are in our own living hell,” she wrote.

Despite severe weather conditions moving through the region, Nancy vowed to continue searching the trails and forests where she believed Weston may have gone.

Support Pours In From Around the World

As Weston’s story spread online, support began arriving from across the United States and Japan. In a video update, Nancy thanked supporters for sharing information and keeping the search in the public eye. “We want to thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts for the outpouring of love and prayers,” she wrote alongside the video.

During the recording, she told supporters that every repost could potentially help someone in Japan recognize her son. “We’re going to find him because of everybody’s help and posting and getting the word out so we can find the person who’s going to find him.”

The family remained hopeful as volunteers, government agencies, and law enforcement personnel joined the effort.

June 3: Helicopters, Volunteers, and an Expanding Search

By June 3, search operations had grown significantly. Nancy reported that dozens of officers were searching on foot while helicopters scanned mountainous terrain north of Yamashina.

Particular attention focused on the hills behind Bishamondo and areas near Mount Otowa. “It’s 8: 45 p.m. on June 3rd. This was an unimaginably hard day. Unfortunately, the authorities did not find Weston today,” she wrote in her update.

Still, she praised the efforts of Japanese police, volunteers, the FBI, the U.S. Embassy, and government officials who assisted in the search. “The search resumes tomorrow as this is a large area,” she added.

New Sightings Raise Fresh Hope

Even as days passed without answers, new leads continued to emerge. On June 5, Nancy revealed that investigators were reviewing additional surveillance footage after reports suggested Weston may have been seen getting off at another station.

The possibility reignited hope. “We are waiting on additional CCTV footage because there have been several sightings of him getting off at a different station- another hikers paradise,” she wrote.

The family also received permission to launch its own search party in neighboring Shiga Prefecture. But each promising lead ultimately ended in disappointment. “We have chased so many leads that look very similiar to Weston, but they arent,” Nancy said. “It’s been tough, but we take every lead seriously.”

At the same time, she shared a photo showing the dense forests surrounding the search area, describing the difficult conditions crews faced while looking for her son.

“This is a picture of the woods in Kyoto where Weston went missing. This is what we are up against. It’s so dense. Please keep praying,” she added.

The Heartbreaking Discovery Came on June 6

Then came the update no family ever wants to write. On June 6, Nancy announced that Weston had been found deceased. “Our family is heartbroken to share that Weston was found deceased by a volunteer search-and-rescue group in a mountainous area outside of Kyoto,” she wrote.

The discovery ended an intensive international search that had drawn volunteers, law enforcement agencies, government officials, and thousands of online supporters.

Nancy did not disclose additional details about the circumstances surrounding her son’s death. Instead, she focused on gratitude for those who helped during the family’s darkest days.

“We are deeply grateful to the countless people across the United States, Japan, and around the world who shared Weston’s story, prayed for our family, offered encouragement, and helped in the search efforts.”

“We shared our story here and in the media in the hope of finding Weston. We now ask for privacy as we begin to navigate this unimaginable loss. Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, and support. We will need them now more than ever. We will always love you, Weston,” Nancy ended the announcement.

In just over a week, Weston’s disappearance transformed from a missing-person case into a global effort fueled by social media shares, volunteer search teams, and community support.

As his family now grieves, one thing remains clear: the search for Weston brought together strangers from around the world who refused to stop looking, right up until the very end.

The situation escalates further when the bike goes down again, intensifying the standoff. But the viral footage only captured part of the story — and what led up to it paints a more layered picture.

A Quiet Street, Then Chaos

According to TMZ, the situation escalated in a well-to-do Nashville suburb, where Alan Ritchson was riding a green Kawasaki motorcycle through the neighborhood.

The actor was not alone — two children, reportedly his, were nearby on motorbikes, watching as tensions began to rise.

The neighbor, identified as Ronnie Taylor, claimed the issue began the day before, Saturday, March 21, 2026, alleging that Alan had been speeding and revving his engine, disrupting the peace.

A Very Different Account Emerges

Ronnie said he confronted Alan the following day, Sunday, March 22, 2026, asking, “Can you [expletive] stop this please,” which is when things allegedly turned physical.

He claimed Alan punched and kicked him, alleging he was struck “at least four times” and left with bruises and swelling. However, his account contrasts with the footage now viral.

However, sources close to Alan told TMZ that he did not instigate the fight and was actually pushed off his bike twice before retaliating. That detail, combined with additional footage and witness accounts, began to shift public perception as authorities reviewed the evidence.

No Charges, Case Closed

As the competing accounts circulated, authorities began reviewing what really happened. In a follow-up report from TMZ, police announced that no charges would be filed. Officials stated that Alan’s actions were determined to be self-defense, and the case has now been formally closed.

Even though a reckless endangerment charge was considered, the “Reacher” actor declined to pursue any charges of his own.

“After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued. Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defense. Although a potential reckless endangerment charge was considered, Mr. Ritchson declined to pursue charges,” the Brentwood Police Department told the publication.

“With the agreement of the District Attorney’s Office, the case is now closed, and no further action will be taken,” the police department added.

The Internet Weighs In

With the case officially closed, the court of public opinion was just getting started. As expected, social media lit up with reactions — many of them strongly opinionated. One commenter wrote, “Before you try to bring someone down, make sure they arent wearing a body cam!” Another added, “Neighbor started the whole thing. And the video proved it.”

A third reaction suggested that new footage changed public perception, noting that Alan’s actions were widely viewed as self-defense.

Alan’s Cryptic Response

And Alan himself didn’t stay completely silent. Shortly after the incident, Alan shared a post on Instagram that raised eyebrows. The post featured a message attributed to Napoleon Bonaparte that said to allow an opponent to continue making mistakes without interference.

The timing did not go unnoticed — and fans were quick to connect the dots.

The Bigger Picture

What began as a neighborhood dispute quickly turned into a viral spectacle, fueled by partial clips, conflicting accounts, and strong opinions. But as more footage surfaced, the narrative shifted — reminding viewers that context can change everything.

And in this case, the final verdict may not be what the internet expected when the first clip hit their feeds.

Beyonce’s Nephew Julez Ignites Romance Buzz With 41-Year-Old Reality Star Tommie Lee – Video

He traded basketball courts for runways and landed on the front pages of Vogue, but nothing Julez Smith has done in his budding modeling career has generated quite as much attention as one night at a hookah lounge.

The footage surfaced just days after the 21-year-old model began appearing in Tommie Lee’s social media posts, and fans were already suspicious before TMZ got involved.

Once that video dropped, the internet completely lost its mind, and the reason why goes far deeper than just an age gap. The deeper you dig into this story, the more complicated it gets.

Who Exactly Is Julez Smith?

For anyone who needs the backstory, Julez is the only child of Solange Knowles, who had him when she was just 17.

Solange married his father, high school sweetheart Daniel Smith, and the young family briefly relocated to Moscow, Idaho, while Daniel attended college. The marriage did not last — Solange filed for divorce in 2006 before she had even turned 21.

Julez grew up surrounded by fashion royalty. His grandmother, Tina Knowles, designed costumes for both Beyoncé and Solange, and watching his mother and aunt command every room they walked into left a lasting impression.

He originally had his sights set on the NBA, but eventually traded hoop dreams for the runway, and the pivot paid off fast.

His professional debut came at New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2024, walking for the brand Luar. The moment went viral instantly, partly because Solange, Beyoncé, and Tina were all seated front row to watch.

By April 2024, he had landed his first Vogue feature, and he has since walked for major international labels.

And Who Is Tommie?

Tommie — born Latasha Jefferson — is a rapper, TV personality, and one of the most polarizing figures to ever appear on “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.” She joined the cast in 2016 and immediately became appointment television, equal parts magnetic and combustible.

During her debut season, it came out that she had been arrested nearly 30 times, a detail she neither fully denied nor apologized for. Her legal history did not end with the show.

In October 2018, she was arrested on felony charges, including aggravated assault and child cruelty, following an incident at her daughter’s middle school.

A second arrest followed hours later on stalking and obstruction charges. Then, in January 2019, she was formally indicted on multiple counts.

Most recently, in June 2024, she was arrested outside Club LIV in Miami on a battery charge after allegedly poking a man in the face, cursing at him, and threatening to have him killed. Surveillance footage backed up the victim’s account, and she was taken into custody without incident.

Away from the headlines, Tommie has spoken openly about her complicated relationship with alcohol, pushing back on the “alcoholic” label while acknowledging she drinks more than she should, often to manage nerves on camera or in tense situations.

Her “Truth” documentary gave audiences a more complete picture: a woman who grew up fast, survived a great deal, and has always moved through the world on her own terms.

It Started on Snapchat

Before the TMZ footage, there was a screen recording. On Monday, March 23, a video began circulating online that appeared to be lifted straight from Tommie’s Snapchat story.

In it, she was perched on Julez’s back, receiving a piggyback ride as the two talked casually. At one point, she called him “so fine” — and that was the spark that lit the fire.

The clip was unscripted and unbothered — exactly the kind of footage that sends blogs into a tailspin. Fans started tagging each other almost immediately, and the speculation about what exactly was going on between them kicked into high gear.

The Video That Set Everything Off

Two days later, TMZ released a video that made the Snapchat clip look tame by comparison. At a hookah lounge, Tommie was filmed straddling Julez face-to-face as he sat in a booth.

Her legs were spread on either side of him, arms draped around his shoulders, while he held her around the waist — one hand firmly on her backside — as she whispered something in his ear.

Both had coordinated in white — her in shorts and a tank top, him in pants and a T-shirt — and the two had already been treated to bottle service before things got visibly comfortable. Neither of them seemed remotely concerned about the cameras.

The Number Nobody Can Get Past

Here is where the internet truly short-circuited. Solange — Julez’s mother — is 39 years old. Tommie is 41. That means the woman straddling Beyoncé’s nephew at a hookah lounge is two years older than the boy’s own mother.

Fans on Facebook and Instagram were quick to rush to the comments section, doing the math as soon as the TMZ footage dropped, and once it did, the reactions got louder:

One person remarked, “Ain’t Solange and her the same age 🤔?” while another added, “She older than his mom 😭.”

Others expressed their shock with comments like, “Him messing with someone older than his mom is wild,” and “Aren’t her kids his age and older?”

“Tommie is older than Solange,” exclaimed one viewer, with others echoing the sentiment with comments such as: “His mom is the same age is she not?” and “Gross.. he’s just a baby.”

The consensus was swift and decisive. Nobody was rooting for this one.

As of now, neither Julez nor Tommie has addressed the videos or the speculation publicly. No labels, no denials, no explanations. Both appear entirely unbothered by the noise, which, knowing Tommie’s track record, is not entirely surprising.

‘Lion King’ Star Imani Smith Dies at 26 – Details

A former child star has been brutally slain, a father is behind bars, and a toddler is left motherless, all in a shocking act of domestic violence that’s torn a family apart just before the holidays.

Imani Smith, the radiant young actress who once lit up Broadway as Young Nala in Disney’s “The Lion King,” was found fatally stabbed in her Edison, New Jersey home early on the morning of Sunday, December 21, 2025. She was just 26 years old.

Police rushed to the scene on Grove Avenue after receiving a frantic 911 call at 9:18 a.m. What they found inside was horrifying: Smith had suffered multiple stab wounds. She was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, but despite their best efforts, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Father of Her Child Charged with Murder

Authorities have arrested Jordan D. Jackson-Small, 35, of Edison, the man now accused of taking Smith’s life. He was taken into custody without incident and remains behind bars at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center.

He is now facing a slew of serious charges:

  • First-degree murder
  • Second-degree endangering the welfare of a child
  • Third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose
  • Fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon

A pre-trial detention hearing is pending, but for now, he remains in custody.

What makes this tragedy even more chilling is who was left behind — Smith’s 3-year-old son, the child she shared with Jackson-Small. Miraculously, the boy was not physically harmed during the deadly attack. Prosecutors have been quick to confirm, “It was not a random act of violence.”

Broadway Mourns as Mother and Grandparents Step In

The loss has shaken the Broadway community to its core. Smith starred as Young Nala from September 27, 2011, to September 23, 2012, a breakout role that highlighted her triple-threat talent and sparkling stage presence.

Her mother, Monique Rance-Helper, is no stranger to the entertainment world either. A sought-after hair stylist in theatre, TV, and film, she has worked on productions like “Eclipsed,” “Once On This Island,” “POSE,” and “In the Heights.”

Now Smith’s mother and her partner, Rawni Helper, are left to raise their daughter’s young son, while still caring for their two younger children — all while navigating unspeakable grief.

Family’s Desperate Plea for Help as They Face the Aftermath

GoFundMe campaign launched by Smith’s aunt, Kira Helper, lays bare the crushing burden now placed on the grieving family.

“It is with a tragic and heavy heart that we share the loss of my niece, Imani Dia Smith, who was senselessly killed by her boyfriend on the morning of Sunday, December 21st, just ahead of Christmas,” she wrote.

She remembered Smith as “a vivacious, loving and fiercely talented person.” Calling her a “true triple-threat performer,” Helper said Smith brought “joy, creativity, and light” wherever she went.

The fundraiser seeks to support funeral costs, memorial services, crime scene cleanuptrauma therapy for the children, and time off for grieving parents, not to mention the long-term costs of raising a child suddenly left without his mother.

It also highlights one heartbreaking detail: the family now needs help caring for Smith’s beloved dog, Kuro, yet another soul left behind by the tragedy.

Online Outrage Builds as Investigation Continues

On social media, netizens have erupted with anger and sorrow over Smith’s death. One person posted on X, “Imani Smith had her whole life ahead of her. This has to stop.”

The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office is urging anyone with information to come forward. Contact Detective Kevin Kirsh of the Edison Police Department at 732-718-8064 or Detective Olivia Ankudowicz at the Prosecutor’s Office at 732-745-8083.

Family Faces Legal Battle as Another Young Life Is Lost

As the Smith family prepares to bury their daughter and face the long road ahead, prosecutors remind the public that Jackson-Small is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Still, the legal battle to come promises to reopen wounds again and again.

And in a gut-wrenching twist, just hours after Smith’s death, a 13-year-old girl was gunned down in a separate act of violence, another young life stolen before the year’s end.

Thirteen-year-old Jaleeyah Tune was fatally shot in broad daylight on Sunday, December 21, 2025, in what authorities are calling a deliberate and devastating act of violence.

Goldsboro Police officers rushed to the 200 block of Alpha Court around 4:35 p.m. after frantic 911 calls reported gunfire. There, they discovered the lifeless body of the seventh-grade student, struck by a bullet and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Say Teen Trio Ambushed Innocent Girls

In the hours that followed, three teenage boys — one just 15 and the others only 16 — were swiftly arrested. All three are now facing first-degree murder and felony conspiracy charges.

The city’s Criminal Investigations Division is continuing to unravel what led to the shocking slaying of a child in what should have been the most joyful season of the year.

‘She Is My Miracle Baby’: Mother Speaks Through Tears About Her Christmas Angel

While others were wrapping gifts and lighting trees, Jaleeyah’s mother, Whitney Brown-Tune, found herself making funeral arrangements for her youngest daughter.

“She is my miracle baby,” Brown-Tune told ABC11, her voice heavy with grief. “She was born premature. She came home in 2012 right before Christmas, and now she’s leaving right before Christmas.”

Still beneath her tree sit unopened presents, haunting reminders of a daughter who will never unwrap them. Described as a bubbly, smart, and kind-hearted helper, Jaleeyah, lovingly nicknamed “Lee Lee,” was remembered by family as a tiny fighter who defied the odds at birth, weighing just two pounds.

“She just had this personality that we aren’t going to get back,” her mother said.

As the city reels from the tragic loss, a GoFundMe campaign in Jaleeyah’s honor has already raised more than $12,000 of its $14,000 goal.

Describing her as a “bright and loving 13-year-old,” the page mourns a life “tragically cut short by gun violence just days before Christmas.” It calls her death “especially devastating during a time that should be filled with love and togetherness.”

What Happened in Shreveport Before Sunday’s Family Crisis — The Details

Something was already unfolding inside the Elkins’s Shreveport home before sunrise, but no one outside knew how serious it had become.

A Shreveport neighborhood woke up to the sound of gunfire on Sunday morning, April 19, 2026, and by the time police arrived, eight children were dead, most of them still in their beds.

The attack unfolded across two houses and ended with a police chase into Bossier City. What investigators found as they pieced together the morning raised a question the community has been sitting with ever since: Was there anything that could have stopped this?

Eight Children, Two Houses, One Man

The shooting began just before 6 a.m. south of downtown Shreveport. According to police, the suspect — 31-year-old Shamar Elkins — first shot a woman at a home on Harrison Street, then drove roughly a quarter-mile to a house on West 79th Street, where eight children were sleeping.

Seven were found dead inside the home. The eighth had climbed to the back roof trying to escape — and was found dead there too. A ninth child, not shot, jumped off the roof and survived with non-life-threatening injuries.

The children ranged in age from 3 to 11. Most were shot in the head.

Who They Were

The Caddo Parish Coroner’s office identified the victims as Jayla Elkins, 3; Shayla Elkins, 5; Kayla Pugh, 6; Layla Pugh, 7; Markaydon Pugh, 10; Sariahh Snow, 11; Khedarrion Snow, 6; and Braylon Snow, 5 — three boys and five girls.

Crystal Brown, a cousin of one of the wounded women, described all of them the same way: “Happy kids, very friendly, very sweet.”

How It Ended

After leaving West 79th Street, Elkins carjacked a man and led police on a high-speed pursuit across the river into Bossier City. Investigators believe he may have intentionally driven into that neighborhood because of a personal connection to a home there.

Shreveport police officers shot and killed him on Brompton Lane near Long Acre Drive. He was carrying a small-caliber handgun and, when confronted by officers, had a rifle-style pistol. In total, ten people were shot that morning — eight of them fatally.

A City Lost for Words

This was the deadliest mass shooting in the United States since eight people were killed in a Chicago suburb in January 2024. Shreveport, a city of roughly 180,000 people, had never seen anything like it.

Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith stood before cameras, visibly shaken. “I just don’t know what to say, my heart is just taken aback,” he said. “I cannot begin to imagine how such an event could occur.” Mayor Tom Arceneaux called it “the worst tragic situation we’ve ever had.”

That evening, mourners gathered outside the house on West 79th Street and laid flowers. One door appeared stained with blood. At a nearby prayer vigil, community members lit candles in a parking lot.

Kimberlin Jackson, who was there, put it plainly: “It just makes you take your children and hug them and hold them and tell them how much you love them.”

What the Neighbor Heard – and Didn’t

Liza Demming lives two doors down from the West 79th Street house. Her security camera captured Elkins running from the home toward a nearby tire shop. The audio caught two shots.

But before that? Nothing. “It was nothing loud, no altercations,” she told reporters. “It was quiet. Nothing.” To anyone on that street, there was no warning at all.

Inside the investigation, though, a very different picture was forming.

The Marriage That Was Already Over

Detectives confirmed the attack was entirely domestic in nature. And once family members began speaking, the shape of what led up to it became clearer.

Elkins and his wife had been in the middle of a separation. They were due in court the very next day — Monday. According to that account, the couple had been arguing about the separation before the shooting.

That detail shifted the timeline.

It placed a domestic argument directly before the violence, narrowing the focus to those final hours inside the home.

The relative said, “He murdered his children. He shot his wife.”

Elkins shared four children with his wife, and three with another woman who lived nearby, and all their children had been together that night at the house on West 79th Street. The eighth child who was shot was described as a relative.

The two women shot that morning were his wife, who was shot in the face and survived, and the second woman, believed to be the mother of three of his children. Both were critically wounded.

A Record That Should Have Raised Flags

Shreveport police acknowledged they were already familiar with Elkins — but said they had no known history of domestic violence in the home. What they did have on file was something else entirely.

In March 2019, Elkins was arrested on two charges: illegal use of weapons and carrying a firearm on school property.

His own account, documented in a police report, was that he had stepped outside to meet a friend when someone in the car pulled a gun on him first — and he fired back, five rounds, as the car drove away.

The location of that shooting was less than 300 feet from the fence line of Caddo Magnet School. The rounds were fired in the direction of the building while children were playing outside.

Elkins pleaded guilty to the weapons charge in October 2019. The second charge was dismissed, and he was sentenced to 18 months of probation.

Domestic Violence Is Not a Private Matter

Caddo Parish District Attorney James Stewart did not let the morning pass without naming what it exposed. “What began as a domestic dispute has ended in irreversible harm,” his office stated.

“Domestic violence is not a private matter. It is a community issue with far-reaching consequences, often affecting the most vulnerable among us — our children.”

And as recent headlines have shown, this pattern — a domestic situation under strain, followed by sudden violence — is not isolated to one city or one case.

In fact, just days earlier, another story involving a well-known public figure revealed a similarly complex timeline, where court filings, financial strain, and a looming separation raised difficult questions about what happens behind closed doors.

At first, it looked like another devastating headline. But as the pieces fall into place, something far more unsettling begins to emerge. Because behind the quiet exterior of a family home, a storm had clearly been building for some time.

Pressure Inside the House

To understand how things reached this point, attention quickly turns to what was happening inside the home in the weeks leading up to the tragedy. The first clues were chaotic, incomplete, and terrifying. But as the details spilled out, the final days inside Justin Fairfax’s home began to look even darker than anyone first realized.

At first, all anyone seemed to know was that something awful had happened behind closed doors. Then came the 911 call, and with it, a series of details that turned a shocking death into a deeply unsettling unraveling.

A report from AP News revealed one detail that now stands out: in a March 30 order, a judge told Justin to move out of the family home by the end of April. That means the killing happened weeks before the deadline he had been given to leave.

That timing is impossible to ignore, especially because the divorce proceedings, by then, appear to have turned into a brutal mix of emotional collapse, financial strain, and life inside a house that neither side had fully escaped.

As the court filings show, the tension was not just emotional — it was deeply practical, too.

AP reported that Cerina told the court her husband drank daily, and that his area of the home was littered with empty wine bottles and dirty laundry. Court records also showed that he bought a handgun in 2022 with money intended for their children’s horseback riding lessons.

The couple’s finances had reportedly become a serious source of conflict, too. As People reported from the divorce filings, Cerina claimed Justin failed to pay his 50% share of their children’s private school tuition and extracurricular activities, while also not covering family groceries, utilities, or the mortgage.

In one especially stark line, she wrote, “Husband does not make any financial contributions to support the Wife and their children.” She said all financial responsibilities were being carried by her alone.

Cerina also accused him of allowing the marital home to go into foreclosure while spending marital funds on extravagant trips for third parties. On top of that, civil court records showed Justin had defaulted on almost $30,000 in credit card debt in 2025.

So by the time the final court fight was playing out, this was not simply a marriage ending; it was, at least according to the filings, a household strained by money problems, unpaid family obligations, debt, and a growing sense that the floor was giving way.

The emotional picture painted in the court battle was just as grim. In reporting on those filings, the New York Post said Cerina alleged that after Justin left office in 2022, he withdrew even further from his family and that his troubling behavior had “not abated to this day.”

A Family Rift That Kept Deepening

The filing described him as “a talented man who struggles with undefined emotional and psychological issues.” It also said there could “be no mistake” that those issues were defining and limiting him, including in his role as a father.

The same court material described his isolation, drinking, and lack of participation in family life as signs of what seemed to be “a sense of fatalism and hopelessness.”

The Post also noted that Cerina, after 20 years of marriage, filed for divorce in July 2025, a year and a day after the couple initially separated. Yet despite the separation, they were still living together while the divorce dragged on.

That living arrangement, in hindsight, now feels especially significant.

And then there is the episode that suggested things had already reached a frightening point years earlier. According to a Washington Post report citing court documents, Cerina testified that Justin’s “heavy daily alcohol” use became a “new normal” after he left office in 2022, and that he grew more insular, spending more time alone in his room rather than with the family.

That same year, according to the documents, he bought the gun and at one point left home with the firearm and a suitcase packed with clothes. Cerina, her stepfather, and another relative then went looking for him.

When they later found him in a public park near the family’s home, he reportedly said the gun was for personal protection and that he had taken it because he did not want his children to find it at home.

The morning after, Justin’s brother arranged for a mental health professional to speak with him. AP’s reporting adds more context to how far Justin had fallen from his earlier public image.

A Paper Trail Full of Red Flags

Stepping back further, the broader timeline only adds to the sense that pressure had been building for years. Less than a decade ago, he was widely seen as a rising Democratic star, having won the race for Virginia lieutenant governor in 2017 and appearing positioned for even stronger political possibilities.

Then came the sexual assault allegations in 2019, which he denied, insisting the encounters were consensual. He refused calls to resign, later tried to run for governor in 2021, and lost badly after being largely shunned by Virginia Democrats.

That career collapse appears to have echoed through everything else. AP reported that one of Justin’s longtime friends said he became increasingly despondent after Cerina filed for divorce, and a judge wrote that his “mental and emotional health” had suffered after both his failed 2013 attorney general bid and the 2019 scandal, though, after the latter, he never truly bounced back.

AP also reported that friend Sophia A. Nelson said Justin never moved past the scandal. She said that in a group text just two days before the killings, he brought up recent allegations against Rep. Eric Swalwell because it revived, for him, what he still believed had been an unfair rush to judgment in his own case.

Sophia said she and others repeatedly urged him to get help. “There were talks of suicidal thoughts,” she told the AP. That concern, in hindsight, now feels especially chilling.

She also said she had urged him to move out, but believed he may not have been able to do so financially. And the money problems were not small.

AP reported that filings showed Justin struggled financially after the allegations cost him his position as a partner at a prestigious law firm, and that the IRS had previously filed a lien against the couple for over $91,000 in unpaid taxes, though it was resolved in 2021.

Sophia bluntly told AP that Justin had become “unemployable” after the scandal. He reportedly tried to rebuild his legal career, but only with limited success.

That makes the final timeline feel even more claustrophobic. A failing marriage, unpaid obligations, debt, a court battle, worsening isolation, drinking, and a deadline to get out of the house — all of it closing in at once.

The Detail That Changes Everything

And then come the details that reframe everything. For much of this story, the focus has been on the unraveling marriage, the finances, and the personal struggles.

But two details, confirmed by authorities, shift the weight of the tragedy in a profound way. According to AP News, officers found the estranged couple dead inside their Annandale, Virginia, home early Thursday, April 16, 2026.

Reporting from NBC News further revealed that the couple’s teenage children were inside the home at the time of the shootings. Their older son, Cameron Fairfax, was the one who called 911 just after midnight. And as more information emerged, that moment became even more harrowing.

As first laid out by TMZ, the former Virginia lieutenant governor’s son called 911 after Justin allegedly shot his wife, Dr. Cerina Fairfax, and then himself, while both of the couple’s teenage children were home.

Police later told the outlet that cameras inside the house corroborated what they described as a murder-suicide, with Cerina found in the basement and Justin found in a bedroom.

That alone is devastating. But the dispatch audio adds a layer of horror that is hard to shake. In the audio transcript shared by TMZ on YouTube, the incident is initially called in as a stabbing, with dispatch relaying that the boy thought his dad might have stabbed his mom and that she was “laying [sic] on the ground bleeding” and had “holes in her shirt.”

The son reportedly did not know where his father was at first, though responders noted his car was still in the driveway before another voice later reported a man upstairs with a firearm and a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The responder refers to Justin as an “obvious D.O.A.”

It reads like a nightmare unfolding in fragments. And then comes what investigators believe may have been driving it all. Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis described the incident as a “domestic dispute surrounding what seems to be a complicated or messy divorce.”

That phrasing — particularly “complicated or messy divorce” — now stands at the center of what investigators believe may have led to the tragedy. He also noted that Justin had recently been served paperwork indicating the date of his next court appearance.

“That may have been a spark,” Davis said, while emphasizing that investigators are still working to determine what led to the tragedy. The couple, he added, had been living together but sleeping in separate bedrooms.

A shared house, a fractured relationship, and a looming deadline.

And as the reality of what unfolded inside that home — especially with the children present — sinks in, the public response has been swift and deeply emotional.

An Outpouring of Grief

The public reaction has been immediate. AP reported that Virginia Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine said they were keeping the family — especially the couple’s two children — in their prayers, while Governor Abigail Spanberger said the tragedy was a reminder that domestic violence can happen in any family and in any place.

But perhaps the most brutal summary came from Sophia, Justin’s longtime friend. Fighting back tears, she told the AP that whatever honorable things he had done in public life would now be eclipsed by this final act.

“You now fit what many, many men have done in domestic violence incidences [sic] like this,” she said. “And that’s how you’re remembered.”

And that is the chilling core of this story. Not just the 911 call, not just the terrible violence, but the sense that the final days were crowded with signals — family money allegedly diverted from the children, unpaid bills, drinking, isolation, failed motions, and a move-out date that was almost here.

What began as a frantic emergency call has become something much darker in the details. Because the more that emerges, the clearer it seems that the end did not come out of nowhere…it came at the collision point of pressure, unraveling, and a deadline that was suddenly just weeks away.

At this time, we wish to extend our most heartfelt condolences to the Fairfax children, the entire Fairfax family, their loved ones, friends, colleagues, and community as they mourn such a significant loss. We hope for their healing amid their time of grief.

In the end, what remains is not just a headline, but a devastating reminder of how quickly a family’s private struggles can turn into irreversible tragedy.
