Eva Longoria, 51, Soaks Up the Sun in a Skimpy Animal-Print Bikini on a Marbella Beach — and There’s One Thing in the Photos Everyone Is Zooming In On

The former television housewife looked completely at ease during a sunny escape, although viewers soon found themselves studying one part of the pictures especially closely.

Eva Longoria, 51, was photographed enjoying the Mediterranean Sea in Marbella, Spain, in July 2026, wearing a revealing animal-print bikini. Her confident beach appearance earned plenty of praise, but as people moved through the images, a small and rather unexpected feature became impossible for some of them to ignore.

Her Marbella Beach Look Left Little Hidden

Longoria appeared relaxed as she cooled off in the water and soaked up the Spanish sunshine. The actress wore a tiny two-piece covered in an animal-inspired pattern, giving photographers a clear view of the strong physique she has spent years maintaining.

The images showed the former “Desperate Housewives” star moving along the shoreline and standing in the shallow water. Her toned stomach, sculpted legs, and curves were all visible, but she did not appear concerned about the cameras nearby.

Instead, Longoria carried herself with the ease of someone enjoying an ordinary day at the beach. Her husband, José “Pepe” Bastón, did not appear in the pictures, but Marbella has become far more than a temporary vacation destination for their family.

By 2024, Longoria and Bastón were spending much of their time between Spain and Mexico with their son, Santiago, who was six at the time. Her work regularly took her from Europe to South America, and because she rarely filmed in Los Angeles, the international arrangement suited the family.

Longoria told Marie Claire that she had spent her entire adult life in Los Angeles but felt the city had been changing since before the COVID-19 pandemic. She mentioned homelessness and taxes while discussing California, explaining, “It just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.”

With Marbella now part of her family’s everyday life, Bastón may simply have been outside the photographers’ view during the outing. Longoria certainly looked at home as she walked along the shoreline.

Still, the familiar location and skimpy swimsuit were not the only reasons the photographs received attention. Once viewers looked beyond her overall figure, their eyes repeatedly landed on her belly button.

Compliments Soon Gave Way to Questions

Initial reactions focused on how fit and confident Longoria looked at 51. On Instagram, one admirer wrote, “She looks amazing!” Another person examining the same set of pictures had a very different response, asking, “What’s with that belly button ?? 😬😬”

The question was not limited to one discussion. On Reddit, another commenter studied the way Longoria’s midsection appeared from different angles and wrote, “Why in a picture three the belly button is not in the centre of her body [sic]?”

More reactions appeared beneath another Instagram post featuring the beach outing. One person praised what they saw as an unfiltered physique, writing, “Look this natural fit body 🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️ [sic].”

Someone else agreed with the natural appearance, adding, “Real and natural.” Yet the same feature continued distracting people from the rest of the photographs. Another commenter simply asked, “What’s up with her belly button?”

While a few people concentrated on that one physical feature, the broader response remained centered on her athletic build. The photos showed the visible outcome of a fitness routine Longoria has described as a permanent part of her life, rather than a temporary effort before a beach day.

Her Physique Comes From a Lifelong Habit

Longoria has made it clear that exercise is not something she reluctantly squeezes into her schedule for appearance alone. In a 2024 interview with Today, she called movement her “meditation, my ‘me hour,’ my self-care.”

At the time, she was balancing acting and executive-producing duties on the Apple TV+ dramedy “Land of Women” with directing, advocacy work, her businesses, and raising her son, Santiago. Even with those demands, she usually devoted between 30 minutes and an hour to exercise, sometimes extending the session when time allowed.

“I’ve always been an exerciser. It gives me energy.”

Longoria also dismissed the idea that her workouts were driven mainly by vanity. “I don’t really do it for vain reasons, I do it for my mental health,” she said.

Her connection to fitness began long before viewers knew her as Gabrielle Solis on “Desperate Housewives.” Longoria said she had worked as both an aerobics instructor and a trainer while attending college, where she earned a degree in kinesiology.

“It’s not something that I do, it’s part of my life,” she explained. Her favorite workouts also require serious effort. She alternates between strength training and rebounding, a form of cardio performed on a small trampoline.

Longoria said she may spend 30 minutes bouncing or lift weights for an hour. Those strength sessions help explain the muscle definition visible throughout the Marbella photographs.

Heavy Weights Changed How Her Body Responded

Longoria discussed her trampoline routine in greater depth during a 2022 interview with Women’s Health. She began rebounding in 2020 after seeing her friend Elsa Collins share a workout video.

At first, Longoria was skeptical enough to tell Collins that the exercise looked strange. Collins persuaded her to try a virtual session offered by The Ness, and Longoria quickly moved beyond the beginner level.

She eventually began bouncing at least five times each week, sometimes exercising on the trampoline daily. The routines forced her to memorize movements and stay aware as the sequences shifted from one side to the other.

A typical session lasted between 30 and 45 minutes. Longoria then completed the rest of her workout with strength training, sometimes guided by personal trainers Julia Brown or Grant Roberts.

She was also specific about how challenging those sessions could become. “I do very heavy weights,” she said.

Her exercises additionally included weighted squats and hip thrusts, with Longoria monitoring how her heart rate responded to the resistance. She believed that heavy lifting produced the clearest physical changes, even when she was completing an exercise as simple as a bicep curl.

She Does Not Follow a Punishing Diet

Longoria’s approach to food is similarly practical. She told Today that she does not impose strict rules on herself, although she naturally prefers meals built around vegetables, fish, chicken, or beef.

When she is on vacation, she allows herself to enjoy the experience. If a particular role or appearance requires preparation, she adjusts accordingly.

“I think it’s just moderation and just common sense.”

Her Mexican American upbringing also shaped her tastes. Longoria explained that she did not grow up eating much bread because tortillas were more common in her family’s meals.

Desserts hold little temptation for her, either. Longoria said she does not have a sweet tooth and will often pass when other people feel compelled to finish a meal with something sugary.

Wine, however, remains something she enjoys. She even finds it easier to eat well while filming because a caterer can prepare exactly what she requests. Away from a set, she has to handle those decisions herself, just like anyone else.

At 51, Eva Longoria appeared strong, comfortable, and unconcerned with hiding the realities of a body in motion. Some viewers praised that natural confidence, while others kept returning to her belly button, turning one tiny feature into the most debated part of an otherwise carefree afternoon.

Katy Perry Makes Her Isle of MTV Malta Debut in an Outfit That’s Sparking Conversation Online — Photos

The pop star arrived at one of Europe’s biggest summer festivals with familiar hits, an emotional admission and a playful look that quickly divided viewers.

Katy Perry headlined Isle of MTV Malta at the Floriana Granaries on July 22, 2026, making her debut at the annual event alongside AFROJACK and AIDAN. Her performance gave the crowd plenty to discuss, but one of the loudest conversations began with what she wore just before her big stage.

Many netizens considered her outfit not suitable for a person in their 40s, but Katy Perry has always been extra with her wardrobe especially at her music events. | Source: Instagram/enews

Perry Brings Her Pop Spectacle to Malta

Perry opened her set with “California Gurls,” launching a production filled with choreography, costume changes and expansive visuals. The concert moved across different eras of her career while also making room for her new single, “Watch It Burn.”

The singer later changed the mood with an acoustic rendition of “Roar.” During the performance, she told the audience that she had recently “lost her roar” before finding it again, then shared a message centered on kindness and perseverance.

Perry kept the show playful as well. Fan cameras captured audience members, while the singer traveled through the crowd inside an oversized water bottle and sprayed the front rows with pretend “sunscreen.”

The festival itself was celebrating its 18th year. Organized by MTV in partnership with the Malta Tourism Authority, Isle of MTV Malta is promoted as Europe’s largest free summer festival, and the 2026 event is scheduled to premiere across MTV’s international networks on September 18.

Finally, Perry closed with “Firework,” but one costume carried meaning beyond the performance. Perry brought it back from a 2009 MTV Video Music Awards promotional campaign based on “West Side Story” and announced that it would be donated through Fandiem to benefit her Firework Foundation.

This ended up attracting the most attention online. It was a sweet, deliberately youthful look that Perry wore while embracing Malta’s summer atmosphere.

A Gingham Look Brings Back Perry’s Playful Side

It consisted of a retro two-piece ensemble built around pink-and-white gingham. Her sleeveless cropped shirt was tied at the waist and featured a small fruit appliqué on its chest pocket.

A matching high-waisted mini skirt ended in a ruffled lavender hem decorated with beaded strawberry and cherry patches. The outfit blended picnic-table checks with candy-colored pop-star styling, making it difficult to overlook.

Her dark hair was arranged in high pigtails, each secured with a bright pink satin ribbon. Gold earrings, a strong red manicure and dark ankle-strap footwear completed the deliberately playful look.

Perry wore the ensemble during several appearances connected to the festival, including a red carpet where she also stopped for interviews. The combination of gingham, fruit decorations and bows soon became almost as discussed as her concert.

The singer leaned fully into the outfit rather than treating it as a simple red-carpet costume. In a backstage video, she danced with AIDAN to “Watch It Burn”, allowing viewers to see the skirt’s lavender ruffle and beaded details in motion.

Unusual fashion is hardly new territory for Perry. Much of her image has been built around costumes that are exaggerated, colorful or knowingly silly, but this particular choice led some viewers to focus heavily on her age.

Critics Question the Youthful Styling

Responses beneath an Instagram post were blunt, with several people arguing that the outfit looked too young for the 41-year-old singer. One person wrote, “We’re in our forties, honey. Stop shopping in the juniors department 😂,” Another simply said, This is weird.

A third commenter added, “My daughter doesn’t even dress this childish.” Someone else asked, “What is she wearing?” The reaction was not entirely negative. One admirer pushed back against the criticism, writing, “I think she looks amazing 🤷🏿‍♀️.”

The debate continued on Facebook, where another person commented, “Age inappropriate & really cheap looking… She could do soo much better. [sic]”

Yet a different viewer saw the look through the lens of Perry’s earlier career and asked, “Is she going back to her original style?”

That question offered a far more interesting reading of the outfit. The gingham, fruit appliqués and high pigtails could easily remind longtime fans of the theatrical fashion Perry embraced during her rise, when her clothes regularly carried the same cheeky energy as her songs.

The Malta appearance also came shortly after Perry presented a markedly different image beside the man she has called the love of her life.

Her Previous Red Carpet Look Could Hardly Have Been More Different

On June 8, 2026, Perry and Justin Trudeau made their official red carpet debut at the Tribeca Festival in New York City. The former Canadian prime minister, 54, joined her for the premiere of her concert film, “Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris.”

Perry chose a white halter-neck gown covered with rose-like details and wore her hair in an updo. Trudeau stood beside her in a black suit and white shirt, smiling as she greeted reporters and fans.

The couple had previously attended the “Beef” Season 2 Montecito Tastemaker event in April. They posed there with Netflix executive Ted Sarandos and his wife, Nicole Avant, at a gathering also attended by Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Charles Melton and Carey Mulligan.

Romance speculation surrounding Perry and Trudeau began in July 2025, when they were photographed walking with a small dog in a Montreal park. They were later seen having dinner at Le Violon, where a restaurant representative said they appeared to have enjoyed the evening and personally thanked the kitchen staff afterward.

Trudeau then attended Perry’s Montreal concert on July 30. The relationship emerged one month after People confirmed that Perry and Orlando Bloom had ended their nine-year engagement.

Perry has since become acquainted with Trudeau’s children. His 18-year-old son, Xav, who also makes music, said on the “Can’t Be Censored” podcast that he sends Perry songs when he feels especially pleased with them.

“She’s always happy to give me advice or tell me what I should change.”

During the Tribeca premiere, Perry also explained how the new concert film differs from her 2012 documentary, “Part of Me.” She told People, “That was more of a documentary about my life, and this is really a concert experience at the highest level for the fans.”

Perry added that she had created the project for the people who had supported her throughout more than 18 years of her career. She described the energy of the tour as “incredible.”

She was equally open about her private life that evening. While discussing the effect of the tour, Perry said she felt more grounded and declared, “I am very in love.”

She then referred to Trudeau as “the love of my life,” explaining that meeting him had made her feel anchored. Perry compared herself to a rainbow kite that sometimes flies so high it needs something steady holding it in place.

“So, to have that anchor finally makes me feel really whole now,” she said.

Only weeks later, Perry traded the romantic white gown and polished updo for gingham, fruit patches and enormous pink bows in Malta. Whether viewers found the outfit childish or saw it as a return to her wonderfully strange pop roots, the photos and videos captured a version of Perry who appeared completely committed to having fun with fashion again.

Something Else Was Found Inside the Michigan ‘House of Horror’ After 8 Family Members Died in Fire

that the fire claimed other lives closely connected to the family, making the scene even more painful than early reports suggested.

Eight Family Members Were Found in Separate Bedrooms

Police and firefighters arrived at the Karolkiewicz residence on July 24 and encountered a home consumed by the aftermath of gunfire and flames.

Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office Captain Jake Sparks said Kristopher and Mandy were located in the couple’s bedroom. Their four sons and twin daughters, who ranged in age from 5 to 11, were discovered in the children’s bedrooms.

Investigators believe the children and their mother had been shot before the fire began. Captain Sparks said Kristopher used a semiautomatic handgun and discharged the weapon at least eight times during the attack.

According to the captain, Kristopher then set the house on fire before fatally shooting himself. The deaths have been investigated as a murder-suicide, although the question weighing most heavily on those left behind remains unanswered: Why did this happen?

While detectives began reconstructing the family’s final hours, the full extent of the loss inside the residence gradually became clearer.

The Fire Claimed More of the Family’s Loved Ones

The eight people were not the only occupants who died inside the home. Authorities also found at least three dogs and one cat, all of whom belonged to the family.

Captain Sparks told TMZ on July 30 that the animals died because of the smoke or fire. Investigators believe there may have been additional pets inside, meaning even that number might not be complete.

The discovery adds an especially sad element to an already harrowing case. The animals shared the family’s home and were also trapped inside when it burned, leaving no surviving human or pet occupant identified in the information released so far.

It also explains why the property has been described as a “house of horror.” With the search of the home revealing such an extensive loss, investigators have turned their attention beyond the property in hopes of understanding the events leading up to it.

Investigators Are Reconstructing the Family’s Final Hours

Detectives are examining footage gathered from around the neighborhood as they work to establish a precise timeline. They are also speaking with witnesses and people who knew the family, including relatives and friends.

Those conversations could help authorities determine whether Kristopher’s behavior changed before July 24 or whether anyone noticed warning signs. For now, Captain Sparks has not publicly identified a motive.

Every additional finding has made the tragedy harder to absorb, and attention has also turned to the days immediately before the deaths, including a surprising step Mandy took shortly before this tragedy.

Only days earlier, the mother of six had done something that reflected both her love of traveling and her devotion to her children: she took her two adopted daughters to China.

Journalist Robbie Harvey reported on Facebook that the mother and girls visited destinations including Shanghai Disneyland Park and Hangzhou. Kristopher apparently remained in the United States with the couple’s four other children.

Mandy continued sharing glimpses of the trip through TikTok, giving no public indication of the violence that investigators say would follow. She and the girls appear to have arrived home around July 18, just six days before the entire family was discovered.

Her cousin, Emily Jones, said the trip was typical of a woman who enjoyed seeing the world but always centered her children in her plans.

“She had just taken her two daughters to China, so she loved to travel, and her kids were in everything she did,” Jones said in a family statement shared through a WWMT News Channel 3 report.

The timing has made the vacation one of the most discussed details surrounding the deaths. Yet investigators have not said the journey had any connection to the killings, and nothing publicly available establishes that it did.

Commenters Questioned the Final Days

Still, people responding to Harvey’s post began offering their own theories about the marriage, the trip, and Kristopher’s recently ended employment. None of their allegations have been confirmed by authorities.

One commenter alleged, “He cheated on her,” which is something that even Mandy claimed before. Another focused on the days Kristopher may have spent caring for four children while Mandy was abroad, writing, “Sounds like being a ‘single’ dad for a few days really threw him for a ride.”

Others wondered whether an undisclosed financial crisis had developed. One person claimed, “Seems like he might have had all the money problems on his shoulders and felt hopeless. She probably wasn’t aware of any money problems or there would not have been a trip.”

A separate commenter asked, “I wonder if she was unaware that he had lost his job.” Another combined several unproven theories, writing, “Was she prepared to leave him after all his cheating on her ??? Did he find out her about smth [sic]?”

The comments reflect the questions circulating after the deaths, but they are speculation. Investigators have not announced evidence of infidelity, marital separation, travel-related conflict or financial trouble.

His Employment Had Recently Ended

But one confirmed change had occurred shortly before the family died. Kristopher’s employment with the American Heart Association ended earlier in July 2026.

According to NBC Chicago, he had joined the organization in September 2023 and worked remotely from home as a national vice president of sales and marketing. His role supported the division responsible for CPR and first aid products and training.

The association confirmed those details in a statement but did not explain why his employment ended. It said it does not publicly discuss personnel matters.

“As an organization with professional staff who are dedicated to helping others, we are devastated by the news out of Grand Haven, and our thoughts are with the loved ones of those who lost their lives in this tragedy,” their statement read.

Meanwhile, Captain Sparks said investigators were examining documents recovered from the home. However, they had found no note revealing a motive, leaving the role of Kristopher’s job loss, if any, unknown.

Their Marriage Had Once Been Documented With Joy

Years before their deaths, Mandy wrote openly about the family’s beginnings on a parenting blog. She and Kristopher met while working for a beverage company in 2008, began dating that summer and married in August 2009.

Their first child arrived on April 25, 2011. Mandy described his birth as “the best day of my life (so far).”

Two more sons were born during the next four years. During that period, Mandy left a banking position, worked part-time at a local insurance agency, and eventually stopped working outside the home.

The couple later adopted their daughters and welcomed another biological son. Her blog, which ended in 2016, frequently discussed her Christian faith and expressed affection for Kristopher as a husband and father.

Kristopher also publicly celebrated their relationship. Ahead of their 10th wedding anniversary in 2019, he wrote, “I’m a very lucky guy.”

Those older posts offer no explanation for the violence alleged by authorities. They show the public history of a family that appeared deeply important to Mandy, something her relatives have emphasized since her death.

A Teacher Remembered for Her Care

Mandy had more recently worked as an elementary substitute teacher for Grand Haven Area Public Schools. The district is now providing counseling support to affected students and employees.

In a January Facebook post, the district praised her for going “above and beyond for students,” particularly when a child was struggling. It said she responded with empathy, patience and care.

Jones similarly remembered her cousin as someone who could light up a room. Mandy’s mother and stepfather, Becky and Steve Lawwill, described the depth of the family’s loss in a statement.

“Our daughter Mandy was a kind and devoted soul who loved her family and her students. We treasured every moment we had with her and her six children, and words cannot adequately express our devastation.”

They added that they were praying for peace as they grieved and honored their loved ones. While asking for privacy, the family also welcomed continued support. “Keep your prayers and support coming, because we value all of it, and we need it,” Jones said.

The deaths brought another period of grief to Mandy’s relatives. Her adult stepbrother died from a fentanyl overdose in 2020.

Friends of her parents began organizing a GoFundMe to help cover expenses and create a scholarship honoring the six children. The loss has also shaken Grand Haven Township, a community of about 18,000 people roughly 30 minutes west of Grand Rapids.

The Karolkiewicz investigation remains open. For now, the family’s final trip has become a painful reminder of how ordinary their lives still appeared, while the absence of a note leaves the question at the center of their deaths unanswered.

The House Was So Cheap I Thought I Won the Lottery, but When I Saw the Basement, I Understood Everything — Story of the Day

I was tired of paying rent my whole life and was ready to fulfill my dream of buying my own house. A dream home at an unbeatable price seemed like the ultimate win—until I realized there were reasons for the low price hidden in the basement.

The first time I saw the house, I could hardly believe my luck.

It was like something from a postcard—a charming colonial with white siding and green shutters, tucked away at the end of a quiet, tree-lined street.

Sure, the paint was peeling a little, and the roof could use some work, but it had character. A lived-in charm that felt… welcoming. Almost.

Susan, the real estate agent, was waiting by the front door, her grin as bright as the clipboard of documents she waved in the air.

“Perfect day to finalize your dream home, huh?” she said, her tone so chipper it made me wonder if she was trying a little too hard.

I nodded, eager to see inside. The house didn’t disappoint. Room by room, it seemed to reveal more reasons for me to fall in love.

The living room had a fireplace that practically begged for stockings at Christmas, and the hardwood floors creaked just enough to remind you they had a history.

Susan trailed behind me, her heels clicking against the floor as she narrated.

“You won’t find a deal like this anywhere else,” she said, tucking a strand of dark hair behind her ear.

“A home like this at this price? Practically unheard of.”

She was right, and I knew it. Still, something felt off—just a whisper of doubt at the back of my mind. It grew louder when we reached the basement door.

Unlike the others, this one had a lock. Not a simple latch, but a solid, heavy-duty lock that didn’t belong in a cozy house like this.

After all, this was my dream house, right? A place where I could start afresh.

I signed the papers, and Susan left in a hurry, her heels clicking faster than before.

By the time I started unloading boxes from my car, the sun was setting, casting long shadows across the street.

That’s when I noticed her—an older woman standing on the porch of the house next door.

Her face was a map of deep wrinkles, and her thin lips curled into a tight, disapproving line, like she’d just bitten into a lemon.

“Hi there!” I called, trying to sound cheerful. “I’m your new neighbor.”

She didn’t answer. She just stared, her eyes narrowing before she turned and disappeared inside her house without a word.

The screen door slammed shut behind her.

I shrugged, telling myself she was probably just one of those grumpy types. Still, her silence gnawed at me.

I spent the rest of the day unpacking, trying to ignore the prickle of unease that lingered.

By the time I collapsed onto the couch, exhaustion claimed me, and I drifted into a restless sleep, the house settling around me like it was testing me, deciding if I belonged.

I woke to a sound that pulled me from the depths of sleep, a sound I couldn’t quite place.

At first, I thought it might’ve been the wind rattling the old windows, but then it came again—soft and eerie, like a child’s giggle.

My heart started pounding, loud and insistent, and I lay still for a moment, straining to hear more. Was I dreaming?

The giggle came again, clearer this time. High-pitched, carefree, and completely out of place in the stillness of the night.

My throat tightened as fear prickled down my spine. I sat up, scanning the darkened room.

Shadows stretched across the walls, and the only sound was the ticking of the old clock above the mantel. But the giggle was real. I knew it.

Swallowing my nerves, I grabbed the closest thing I could find—a mop leaning against the corner of the room.

My palms were already sweaty, and the handle felt slippery as I gripped it tightly.

I crept through the house, the hardwood floors creaking beneath my feet. My breathing was shallow, and every step made my chest tighten further.

The sound grew louder as I approached the basement door. The lock on it glinted faintly in the dim light. I stopped, staring at the door as if it might move on its own.

My stomach churned as I raised the mop, holding it like a weapon. “Who’s there?” I called out, my voice shaking.

Silence. For a moment, I thought maybe the sound had been in my head.

Then it came again—a giggle, followed by a soft, whispering hush that sent goosebumps racing up my arms.

I couldn’t bring myself to open the door. Instead, I backed away, grabbing my phone and dialing 911 with trembling fingers.

The dispatcher’s calm voice tried to soothe me, but all I could do was stammer about the noises.

Twenty minutes felt like an eternity before the flashing red and blue lights finally appeared outside.

A single officer stepped out, his posture relaxed, his face unimpressed. “So, what’s going on here?” he asked, tilting his head toward me.

“There’s someone in the basement,” I said, trying to steady my voice. “I heard laughing.”

He arched an eyebrow. “Laughing, huh?” With a sigh, he fetched a crowbar from his car and approached the door.

The sound of the lock snapping open echoed in the quiet house. I held my breath as he disappeared down the stairs, his flashlight casting strange, flickering shadows.

Minutes later, he reappeared, shaking his head.

“Just cobwebs and dust,” he said, his tone dripping with skepticism. “Nothing down there.”

“But I heard it!” I protested, heat rising to my face.

He smirked, shrugging.

“You’re not the first. Last few owners said the same thing. If you’re scared, maybe this isn’t the house for you.”

I clenched my fists, my frustration bubbling. “I’m not going anywhere. This is my home.”

“Suit yourself, and good luck with the haunted house.” He left laughing, leaving me standing in the hallway, mop in hand, seething as the sound of his cruiser faded into the night.

The next morning, my phone buzzed on the counter, breaking the quiet stillness of the house.

I picked it up and glanced at the screen. A number I didn’t recognize. Hesitantly, I answered.

“Hello?”

“Hi, it’s Margaret,” a thin, raspy voice said on the other end.

“The previous owner. Just checking in to see how you’re settling in.”

Her voice immediately put me on edge, like she already knew something I didn’t. I hesitated before replying.

“The house is lovely,” I said cautiously. “But… something strange happened last night.”

There was a pause. I could hear her breathing, soft and uneven. Then she sighed—a long, heavy sound that made my stomach drop.

“You’re not the first, Clara” she admitted finally.

“There’s… a history with that house. Some say it’s haunted. I’ve tried to fix it, but nothing ever helps.”

Haunted? The word hung in the air like a fog. My fingers tightened around the phone. “What kind of history?” I asked, my voice firmer than I felt.

She dodged the question.

“If you want out, I’m willing to buy it back,” she said quickly, her tone almost desperate. “Not the full price, but close enough.”

Her offer was tempting. I wouldn’t have to deal with the creepy noises or the weird basement.

But the thought of giving up made my pride bristle. I’d worked hard for this house. I wasn’t about to walk away.

“No,” I said firmly. “I’ll figure this out.”

After we hung up, I grabbed a flashlight and headed for the basement. The air was cool and damp, carrying the stale smell of mildew.

I swept the beam of light across the basement. Dusty shelves, old pipes, and cobwebs filled my view.

Then I noticed something strange—scuff marks on the floor near the vent. Faint but deliberate, like something had been moved. My pulse quickened. Something wasn’t adding up.

That night, I lay in bed, the blankets pulled tightly around me, every muscle tense. I kept my eyes on the ceiling, listening to the silence.

It wasn’t peaceful, though. It felt like the house was holding its breath, waiting for something to happen.

Then, it came. The giggle. That same eerie, childlike sound that sent chills racing down my spine.

I sat up, heart pounding, but this time, it wasn’t just laughter. A faint hissing followed, like air escaping a tire.

My chest tightened as I slipped out of bed and tiptoed downstairs, each step creaking louder than I wanted.

My New Coworker Walked In, and I Instantly Knew He Was the One Who Had Once Destroyed My World – Story of the Day

I woke up again with a heavy weight on my chest as if a giant stone pinned me to the bed. I glanced at the clock. 7.45 a.m. If I didn’t get up now, I’d be late for work. Again.

Forcing myself to push through the oppressive feeling, I swung my legs over the side of the bed and stood up.

The floor was a mess — clothes everywhere, clean and dirty jumbled together in careless heaps.

I grabbed whatever was closest, pulling on a wrinkled shirt and pants, then headed downstairs. My footsteps felt heavier with each step.

Sophie was already in the kitchen. She moved with purpose, scrubbing dishes I should have washed last night.

She didn’t even glance at me. She shouldn’t have to clean up after me, but here we were.

She had grown up too fast, taking on responsibilities no teenager should have. My chest tightened again, but this time it wasn’t just the heaviness. It was guilt.

“Want me to make you breakfast?” I asked.

“No. I’m fine,” Sophie said, her tone sharp and distant. She didn’t even look up, busy zipping her backpack and grabbing a banana from the counter.

“Need a ride to school?” I asked, even though I knew what her answer would be.

“Grandma’s taking me,” she replied flatly, moving toward the door without slowing.

I hesitated but followed her. “I just wanted to wish you a good day.”

“Right,” she muttered under her breath, shaking her head.

As she opened the door, my eyes landed on the photo on the wall. Kira was smiling brightly, holding a little Sophie in her arms. They both looked so happy, so carefree.

“You know you’re not the only one who lost her, right?” Sophie said suddenly, her voice tight. Before I could respond, she walked out and shut the door behind her.

I stared at the photo for a long time, then at the wedding ring still on my finger. “We miss you so much,” I whispered to Kira’s picture.

Before I could head back to the kitchen, my phone buzzed on the counter. It was a message from Mom.

@Mom:

Sophie has a debate competition tomorrow. It would be good if you came.

I stared at the screen for a moment. Mom had done so much for us this past year, stepping in when I couldn’t.

I’d barely been a person — just a shell going through the motions. Mom had kept Sophie steady when I couldn’t even get out of bed.

@Ethan:

She doesn’t want me there

@Mom:

She’ll appreciate it if you come.

I let out a heavy sigh. Tossing the phone into my pocket, I grabbed my work bag, headed to the door, and left.

The moment I walked into the office, I heard footsteps approaching before I even made it to my desk. It was Mr. Harris, my boss.

“Ethan, good morning,” he said, his tone upbeat, as though he had good news to share. I gave him a quick nod and kept moving toward my desk, hoping he wouldn’t follow. He did.

“Remember we talked about bringing someone in to help with your workload?” he asked, keeping pace with me.

“Yeah,” I replied flatly. I didn’t care. More work, less work, it didn’t matter. I just wanted to bury myself in tasks, anything to stop thinking for a while.

“Well, we found someone great. Mark, come over here!” Mr. Harris called out, his voice cheerful.

I didn’t bother looking up, shuffling papers on my desk as if I were already busy.

Then I saw a hand extend toward me. I looked up reluctantly and froze. It was him.

My chest tightened, and for a moment, I couldn’t breathe. Mark’s face mirrored my shock, and I saw fear flicker in his eyes.

“What are you doing here?!” I shouted, my voice loud enough to turn heads across the office.

“I… I didn’t know you worked here. I’m sorry,” he stammered.

Mr. Harris stepped in quickly, concern etched on his face. “What’s going on, Ethan? This is Mark, our new hire. He’ll be working with you.”

I shot him a glare. “I’m not working with him! I’m not even staying in the same building as him!” I turned to Mark, anger boiling over. “Get out!”

“I’ve been trying to find a way to apologize to you,” Mark said, his voice shaky, as if he’d been rehearsing this moment.

“Get. Out,” I repeated.

Mr. Harris stood his ground, his tone firm now. “Ethan, Mark works here. He’s not going anywhere.”

“Then I’ll leave!” I snapped and stormed out, leaving the office in stunned silence behind me.

Outside, the cold air hit me, but it didn’t help. The memories came rushing in, relentless and vivid.

That night was burned into my mind, as clear as if it had just happened. I could still hear the piercing sound of sirens blaring, cutting through the darkness. The flashing red and blue lights lit up the street, making everything feel surreal.

Then I saw her. Kira was lying in the ambulance, motionless. Lifeless. My legs felt like they might give out.

Police officers were everywhere, shouting commands and directing traffic. Two cars were wrecked, smashed together like crumpled paper.

Kira’s car was unrecognizable, barely more than twisted metal. My breath caught when I spotted him — Mark. He stood a few feet away, handcuffed, his face pale and hollow. A cop led him toward a squad car.

I remember someone saying, “It wasn’t drunk driving. Just reckless.”

As if that made it better. If it hadn’t been for Mark, Kira would still be here. If he hadn’t been so careless, everything would be different. Everything.

“I’m sorry,” a voice said, pulling me out of my thoughts. I turned around and saw Mark standing there.

“Your apologies won’t bring my wife back!” I shouted, my voice sharp and full of rage.

“I regret that night every single day,” Mark replied. His voice was steady, but his eyes betrayed the weight of his guilt.

“It should have been you. Not her,” I said.

“I know,” he said quietly, his gaze dropping to the ground. “I wish it had been me too.”

“You took everything from me!” I yelled. My hands shook as the anger boiled over. “You destroyed my life! My daughter barely looks at me. She thinks I’m weak. She hates me because of you!”

Mark winced but didn’t look away. “I’ll never forgive myself for what happened,” he said. “But at least you still have someone.”

“How dare you!” I spat, my fists clenched. “Kira should still be here!”

Mark took a deep breath. “The crash happened because I was rushing to the hospital,” he said, his voice trembling. “My wife was in labor. The delivery was complicated. I panicked. I lost control. After the crash, they told me… neither my wife nor my baby survived.”

His voice broke, and tears welled up in his eyes. “I know your pain,” he said softly.

“You don’t know anything!” I roared, the anger overwhelming me. “If you hadn’t been rushing, my wife would still be alive,” I added, the words cutting like a blade.

Mark flinched. His jaw tightened as he looked at me, his own pain flashing across his face. “Go to hell,” he snapped, his voice low and angry. Then he turned and walked back toward the office, leaving me standing there.

I stayed frozen, my breath shallow, my mind spinning. Deep down, I knew the truth. If I had been in his position, if it had been Kira or Sophie, I would have done the same. I would have driven just as fast.

Shaking my head, I forced myself to move. I got into my car and drove home, my chest heavy with the weight of everything I couldn’t undo.

The next day, I walked into the office without a word and sat at my desk. My eyes stayed fixed on the stack of papers in front of me.

The Armed Civilian Who Helped Stop the Idaho In-N-Out Gunman Is Finally Identified — Police Say He ‘Without a Doubt Saved Many Lives’

Twenty-four-year-old Chad Williams turned a routine Saturday lunch rush into a bloodbath. But two men refused to let him keep firing.

Three people are dead, and seven more are recovering after a gunman opened fire outside a brand-new In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho, on August 1, 2026. As chaos spread through the parking lot, two armed men — one an off-duty state trooper, the other a civilian bystander — turned around and fired back.

Police say their split-second decision changed everything. Now, one of those men has stepped forward, and his account of those “two or three minutes” reveals a level of preparation nobody expected.

An In-N-Out employee was also shot in the chest. Koehn watched a coworker drag her toward the sidewalk while screaming her name, trying to keep her conscious until paramedics arrived.

That employee was later confirmed among the three people killed. In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder wrote on Instagram that her associate “was taking care of our most important asset — our Customers, and her life was taken by a disgusting human who doesn’t value the lives of others or his own.”

The gunman eventually fled toward the visitor center bordering the property, still firing as he ran. He was later identified as 24-year-old Chad Williams, and police confirmed he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound before officers reached him.

Police Commend the Heroic Responders for Diverting Additional Casualties

At a Sunday news conference, Hicks confirmed what witnesses like Koehn had described: an off-duty state trooper and an armed civilian both engaged Williams and returned fire during the attack, according to CBS News.

“We believe their actions drove the suspect from the scene, preventing further casualties,” Hicks said.

Twin Falls County Sheriff Jack Johnson went further, crediting the pair with keeping the death toll from climbing even higher. “These people are true heroes in our community. They diverted the shooter and without a doubt saved many lives,” Johnson said, according to the Idaho Statesman.

For a full day, officials declined to name either man. Then one of them decided to speak for himself.

The Mystery Protector Emerges as a Devoted Local Healthcare Worker

The civilian who fired back has been identified as Jordan Salinas, a 35-year-old healthcare worker from Kimberly, Idaho. He’d stopped at the In-N-Out for lunch with his girlfriend on their way to a weekend of horseback riding in Hagerman, expecting a quiet Saturday, not a mass shooting.

Salinas is the full-time caregiver for his wheelchair-bound brother, and that role shaped his decision to start carrying and training with a firearm. He began after the 2021 Boise Towne Square mall shooting, reasoning that a person in a wheelchair and their caregiver would make an easy target for anyone looking for what he called a “soft target.”

He trained every weekend in the desert outside Eden, a small town in Jerome County, drilling a four-step military framework — observe, orient, decide, act — even though he never expected to use it.

On Saturday, he did. Salinas drew his FN Five-Seven pistol, moved toward the gunfire, and located Williams by the drive-through window before firing.

Tactical Desert Training Prepares a Quiet Hero for a Deadly Encounter

Salinas said he felt “no fear” throughout the encounter, focusing instead on the steps he’d rehearsed for years. His entire exchange with Williams lasted only two or three minutes before the gunman fled toward the visitor center.

“There’s a task that needs to be done, and we’re the ones who need to do it,” he said afterward.

Police have not officially confirmed Salinas by name, and both the Twin Falls Police Department and city spokespeople declined to comment when asked directly. His girlfriend, however, confirmed his role in confronting the shooter.

Grateful Local Residents and Online Fans Rally Around the Heroic Caregiver

By Sunday, Salinas had become something of a local legend. His usual coffee shop gave him free drinks, and strangers stopped to shake his hand throughout the day.

Memes featuring his silhouette against a Gadsden flag began circulating online, captioned “Idaho shoots back.” One friend told him people were buying up ammunition at local sporting goods stores in response to the video of him returning fire.

Twin Falls In-N-Out Shooting Survivor Terry Dudley Was Between Taxi Rides When His Ordinary Afternoon Turned Into a Nightmare

ut

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said 911 dispatchers began fielding calls with screaming audible in the background as the shooting unfolded. Customers dove from their seats. Some barricaded themselves in the restrooms while employees bolted for the front door, spilling onto the sidewalk.

Outside, the scene was just as chaotic. The parking lot, normally filled with people charging electric vehicles or waiting in the drive-thru line, became the backdrop for gunfire that would leave lasting scars on the community.

Twin Falls resident Haley Dodaro, 43, was in the drive-thru line with her mother when she saw people running across the road and employees fleeing the restaurant. She initially assumed there was a fire until a man in a reflective vest directing traffic told her otherwise.

“So that’s when we knew there was a shooting. People were running out crying and screaming. It was very scary,” Dodaro said in a text message to the Associated Press.

Terry Dudley Was Simply Charging His Car

Among those caught in the parking lot was Terry Dudley, a taxi driver who had pulled in between customer rides to charge his Tesla. He never got the chance to leave before the gunfire reached him.

Dudley was sitting inside his car when the shooter opened fire, striking him twice in the back, his longtime friend and coworker James Crow told CNN. His son, Michael Dudley, later told NBC News that his father was shot in the back, near his neck.

“He was just in the car,” Michael Dudley said. “He got shot, and then the car next to him got lit up, as well.”

Witness video circulating from the scene shows a man in a black T-shirt firing an AR-style rifle into a parked Tesla through the windshield before jogging away through the parking lot. It remains unclear whether that vehicle belonged to Dudley.

Bleeding and in shock, Dudley managed to call Crow and tell him he had been shot. The two men have been friends for a decade, first bonding over motorcycling before eventually becoming business partners at North Star Taxi.

“He’s a larger-than-life kind of guy, just a big personality,” Crow told CNN. “He’s boisterous, but he’s still like a very gentle soul, very kind, compassionate, loves to laugh. He wants to enjoy life, he’s tenacious, charismatic.”

Michael Dudley had just finished an overnight bartending shift and was asleep when he woke up to an urgent phone call telling him his father had been shot. He said his father suffered severe injuries, was intubated, and had to be airlifted to a hospital.

Dudley has raised four children alone since being widowed years ago, including three sons and a daughter. His son said the family’s focus now is entirely on his recovery.

Other Customers Describe a Scramble for Cover

Dudley wasn’t the only person in the parking lot fighting to survive those minutes. One witness, sitting in a car with his two younger brothers while waiting for his sister to return with their food, heard the first shots and looked up to see a man walking between vehicles with a pistol.

“We were just sitting there, I was playing on my phone when I heard a couple pops and I look up and I see a gentleman walking from a white vehicle to another vehicle with a pistol in his hand,” he told CNN affiliate KMVT.

He told his brothers to duck and threw himself across the front seat for cover, keeping track of the gunman’s location as best he could. His sister had just ordered food and stepped into the restroom when the shooting started.

As other customers crowded in beside her to try to barricade the door, she waited until it seemed safe, then ran out through the drive-thru line, directly into the shooter’s path.

“As I was running I faced the shooter head on and he pointed the gun at me,” she said. “I ducked behind a white car just to have some sort of coverage.” She said she spotted a pistol resting on what she believed was the gunman’s gun case, grabbed it, and tried to use it, but it was jammed.

A separate witness, 34-year-old Lane Koehn, was stopped at a light just outside the restaurant when he saw someone emerge from the drive-thru carrying an AR-style rifle. He watched the shooter move erratically through the parking lot while another armed customer, positioned in the drive-thru line, fired back and appeared to draw the gunman’s attention away from fleeing bystanders.

“The shooter was solely focused on him, and [it] allowed us to get out,” Koehn told NBC News. “I mean, the car directly ahead of me was getting shot — it gave them time to leave.” He estimated the entire ordeal lasted 10 to 15 minutes.

Koehn later pulled into a lot on the other side of the restaurant, where he saw an employee dragging a wounded coworker who had been shot in the chest. A retired EMT happened to be nearby and rushed over to help before paramedics arrived and got the victim into an ambulance within seconds, he said.

Two Bystanders Are Credited With Saving Lives

Authorities say the shooting could have been far worse without the intervention of two people: an off-duty state trooper and an armed civilian, both of whom returned fire toward the gunman during the attack.

Police believe those actions helped drive the shooter away from the restaurant and prevented further casualties. Twin Falls County Sheriff Jack Johnson called the pair “true heroes in our community,” crediting their actions with diverting the shooter and saving lives.

Minutes after officers arrived on scene, a separate officer-involved shooting took place, though no one was injured. The Twin Falls officer who fired is currently under internal review, Hicks said.

The Gunman Is Identified

The shooter was identified as 24-year-old Chad Williams. He died from what investigators determined was a self-inflicted gunshot wound after the exchange of gunfire, according to police.

Hicks said investigators are confident Williams acted alone, and that his family is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation. “Their hearts are also broken during this time,” Hicks said of Williams’ relatives.

A motive has not been released. Police also pushed back on social media posts that misidentified a different man as the shooter, calling those claims unfounded and urging the public to avoid spreading unverified information.

Separate video captured from a passing vehicle shows a man firing a gun outside the restaurant; police confirmed to CNN that individual was not the shooter, but rather someone unconnected to the attack.

The Toll: Three Dead, Seven Wounded

In total, three people were killed and seven others were wounded. Of those injured, two remained in critical condition as of Sunday, three were listed as stable, and two had already been treated and released from the hospital, according to updates from police.

In-N-Out confirmed one of its own employees was among those killed. Company president Lynsi Snyder addressed the loss directly in a statement posted to Instagram, describing her grief over losing a member of her staff.

“We lost one of our beautiful Associates tonight. She was taking care of our most important asset — our Customers, and her life was taken by a disgusting human who doesn’t value the lives of others or his own,” Snyder wrote.

She said the company would mourn alongside the victims’ families and asked employees to lean on their faith during the difficult days ahead.

Law Enforcement Response Expands

The investigation quickly grew to involve multiple agencies beyond Twin Falls police, including the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office, Nampa Police Department, Caldwell Police Department, Meridian Police Department, and Idaho State Police, all of which sent officers to assist with patrols in the city.

FBI Salt Lake City Special Agent in Charge Robert Boles said the bureau had committed its full resources to the case. “We have committed the full weight of our resources to the Twin Falls Police Department, deploying every investigative and intelligence tool at our disposal,” he said, adding that evidence response teams and victim services specialists were on the ground supporting both the investigation and those affected.

The FBI also opened a digital tip line, asking members of the public to submit any photos, video, or audio recordings from the shooting to help investigators piece together what happened.

In a statement to residents, the Twin Falls Police Department sought to reassure the community that emergency services remained available despite the tragedy, even as officers from outside agencies filled in around the city.

“Even in light of yesterday’s incident, we want to assure you that law enforcement services remain available to our community,” the department said. “We are here if you need us.”

North Star Taxi Shuts Down, Community Rallies Around Dudley

North Star Taxi, where Dudley has worked for years, posted on Facebook that it was closing for the remainder of the night and possibly the next several days. The company confirmed Dudley had survived but faced a long road ahead, and asked the community to keep him in their thoughts.

Crow set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the mounting cost of Dudley’s hospitalization and recovery. As of this writing, it has raised more than $22,500 toward a $40,000 goal.

The fundraiser describes Dudley as a man who quietly puts others before himself, someone loyal, dependable, and devoted to raising his four children alone since being widowed. Organizers said any money raised beyond what Dudley’s family needs will go toward supporting other victims and their families.

A Community Still Struggling to Process It

For both Michael Dudley and Crow, making sense of what happened has been nearly impossible. Crow told CNN he never imagined witnessing something like this in Twin Falls, a place he’s always considered peaceful and far removed from the kind of violence that dominates national headlines.

“I never thought I would see this here,” Crow said. Michael Dudley echoed that disbelief, telling CNN that mass shootings had always felt like distant news stories rather than something that could reach his own family.

“I was kind of in shock that it happened because while you hear about the occasional thing on the news, it all seems kind far away,” he said. Asked how he felt about the man who shot his father, Michael Dudley kept his answer simple. “I’m honestly glad he’s been handled and taken care of,” he told NBC News.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of those killed, citing ongoing efforts to notify families. The investigation into what drove Williams to open fire that afternoon continues, even as the community works to support survivors like Terry Dudley through what’s expected to be a long recovery.

Priscilla Presley, 81, Makes a Rare Public Appearance and Fans Can’t Stop Talking About How She Looks – Photos

A glamorous evening abroad quickly gave way to a much deeper conversation, as newly released images prompted questions that carried a painful history few viewers appeared to consider.

Priscilla Presley stepped back into the spotlight for a glamorous evening abroad, but it was not merely her striking red ensemble that captured people’s attention. Once close-up photos from the event surfaced, her appearance became an immediate online talking point.

The 81-year-old attended the Remus Lifestyle Night party at the Hotel Hilton Mallorca Galatzo in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, on July 30, 2026. The annual gathering was hosted by luxury Real Estate Mogul Marcel Remus, whom Presley supported during her relatively rare public outing.

One commenter bluntly wrote, "She needs some help with her neck." The remark was among several appearance-focused reactions that followed Presley's rare outing in Spain. | Source: Facebook/E! News

For the occasion, she wore a floor-length red gown with long sleeves and gathered detailing around the waist. She coordinated the outfit with crimson lipstick and a structured red handbag, creating a head-to-toe look that was difficult to miss.

Presley kept her accessories understated, wearing a watch and delicate gold jewelry. Her necklace featured a crescent moon pendant that rested just above the neckline of her dress. Her signature red hair was worn long, straight, and neatly styled around her shoulders.

Another observer claimed, "I'm sorry, but her cheeks look like they are full of stitch scars." The speculation carried added sensitivity given Presley's documented history as the victim of unauthorized cosmetic injections. | Source: Facebook/E! News

Photos of Priscilla Presley Spark a Blunt Online Debate

Some social media users focused on her complexion and facial features, while others questioned whether she had undergone additional cosmetic work. One commenter wrote, “She needs some help with her neck.”

Another person commented, “Her face is more paler [sic] than before. The corners of her mouth were covered up – the lines of the scars.” A third user added, “I’m sorry, but her cheeks look like they are full of stitch scars.” Someone else remarked, “Probably should have got your neck done with the last facelift!”

The discussion continued under another entertainment post, where one observer marveled, “Wow…What happened to her?” and another commenter questioned, “What’s wrong with her face?! Why is it so white/pale?!”

Presley’s Painful Cosmetic History Adds Another Layer

While the comments were blunt, Presley’s history adds significant context to any conversation about her face. Long before this latest outing, she confirmed that she had been one of the victims of an unqualified practitioner who administered unauthorized cosmetic injections.

In March 2008, TMZ reported that Presley had received injections from Daniel Serrano around 2003. Serrano reportedly presented the treatments as injections that produced better results than Botox.

However, the outlet reported that he was injecting industrial, low-grade silicone similar to material used to lubricate automotive parts in Argentina. Presley was reportedly unaware that silicone was being placed into her face.

Serrano had gained access to members of Hollywood’s social circles and administered injections to several women. Some treatments reportedly took place during injection parties held in private homes.

The injections were not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and Serrano was not licensed to practice medicine in the United States. According to the report, people who received them experienced complications including lumps, paralysis, and holes in their faces.

Serrano reportedly charged between $300 and $500 per injection. He was later indicted on charges connected to smuggling, conspiracy, and the use of unapproved drugs.

Presley was said to have undergone corrective work after learning what had been injected into her face. Her representative subsequently confirmed that she had been among Serrano’s documented victims.

In a statement published by Fox News, Presley’s representative said, “Priscilla Presley was one of many documented victims of Dr. [Daniel] Serrano. An investigation which uncovered his misconduct ultimately lead to his imprisonment. Ms. Presley dealt with this matter years ago and everything is well [sic].”

Federal agents arrested Serrano in November 2004. Although he had been described as a doctor in some social circles, he was reportedly licensed only as a nurse in the United States.

He was accused of importing and distributing a substance combining synthetic collagen with tiny solid beads. The substance was legal in certain other countries but had not been approved by the FDA.

One woman who had used Serrano’s services described him as charming and said he benefited from glowing endorsements from women he had previously treated. She also claimed that he was “very good at taking advantage of women.”

Serrano pleaded guilty in federal court in Los Angeles in 2006 to conspiracy, smuggling, and using unapproved drugs. He received an 18-month federal prison sentence.

Presley’s history with the procedure makes the harsher reactions to her latest photos especially sensitive. Whatever viewers believe they can detect in an image, her face was once subjected to a treatment she did not knowingly consent to receive.

Hours Before the Party, Presley Shared a Deeply Personal Message

Her July 30 outing also carried a deeper emotional backdrop. Just hours before attending the event, Presley released a candid video reflecting on the pain she has experienced and the perspective she has gained over the years.

“I have suffered a lot in my life,” Presley began. “I have felt for people and still do. I feel at this time in my life that I’ve seen it all, and I’ve learned from it—truly learned from it—and I have to appreciate it.”

The “Elvis & Me” author then noted, “My friends mean the world to me. I’ve had the same friends for many, many years.” “I just want to live life and help whoever I can who needs it, and that makes me happy.”

Siblings Who Survived the In-N-Out Parking Lot Attack Recount the Harrowing Incident – What They Revealed Happened

What began as a desperate search for shelter soon turned into a far more terrifying test of survival, with one sibling forced to make an impossible choice in mere seconds.

A routine stop for food placed siblings in the middle of a deadly attack, forcing them to make split-second decisions while gunfire erupted around them. Yet the most chilling moment came when one of them believed it was safe to run.

The deadly attack unfolded at an In-N-Out restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, leaving three victims dead and seven others injured. Police later identified 24-year-old Chad Williams as the suspected shooter and said he acted alone. | Source: Getty Images

As we previously reported, the Twin Falls, Idaho, In-N-Out shooting erupted on Saturday afternoon, August 1, 2026, while the restaurant was packed with customers. Three people were killed, and seven others were injured in the attack that quickly spread into the restaurant’s parking lot.

Opened on July 24, the Twin Falls restaurant had welcomed customers for just over a week before the shooting, according to a KMVT News Facebook post covering its grand opening.

Police later identified the suspected shooter as 24-year-old Chad Williams, who authorities said died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities said he was armed with an AR-style rifle, and video recorded from a nearby vehicle appeared to show him firing toward a blue Tesla before moving across the lot with the weapon.

Investigators have not announced a motive, and Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said Williams’ family has been fully cooperative as detectives continue examining what led to the shooting. “Their hearts are also broken at this time,” Hicks added.

Police also provided an update on the victims. Two injured people have been treated and released from the hospital, three remain in stable condition, and two remain in critical condition.

Witnesses described scenes of panic as the gunman moved through the drive-thru firing the AR-style rifle, and police later credited an armed bystander and an off-duty state trooper with limiting the carnage.

Witness Describes How the Shooting Unfolded

Hicks said investigators are confident the gunman acted alone. He also commended an off-duty state trooper and an armed citizen who confronted the shooter during the attack. “We believe their actions helped drive the suspect away from the scene, preventing further casualties,” Hicks said. Authorities described the response as “very chaotic.”

According to police, one In-N-Out employee dragged an injured co-worker across the parking lot while employees and bystanders rushed to help victims before paramedics arrived.

NBC News spoke with witness Lane Koehn, 34, who said he was stopped at a traffic light just outside the restaurant when he saw a man carrying an AR-style rifle emerge from the drive-thru. Koehn said bullets struck the vehicle in front of him as the gunman moved through the drive-thru toward his own car.

Koehn said he could see the gunman reacting to an armed person in the drive-thru who was returning fire with a handgun.

“I could tell he was trying to figure out where to go, and somebody in the drive-thru line with a handgun was shooting at him,” Koehn said.

He described the gunman as “panicked,” looking around and moving “kind of erratically.” Koehn said he believes the exchange of gunfire kept the suspect from targeting more people nearby.

“The shooter was solely focused on him, and [it] allowed us to get out,” Koehn told the outlet. “I mean, the car directly ahead of me was getting shot — it gave them time to leave.”

Koehn said he did not know what happened before he reached the intersection, but estimated the portion of the incident he witnessed lasted about 10 to 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, another witness, Twin Falls resident Haley Dodaro, 43, told the Associated Press (AP) that she and her mother were waiting in the drive-thru for lunch when they saw people running across the road and employees rushing out of the restaurant.

Dodaro said she initially thought there had been a fire until a man directing traffic in a reflective vest told them there was a shooter. “So that’s when we knew there was a shooting. People were running out crying and screaming. It was very scary,” Dodaro recalled.

Two of the surviving witnesses, siblings Dominic Gonzales and Jaylyn Sanchez, have also shared what each did to stay alive.

Dominic Gonzales Tried to Shield His Younger Brothers

Gonzales had remained in a vehicle with his two younger siblings while Sanchez went inside the restaurant to order food. The seemingly ordinary wait changed in seconds.

“We were just sitting there, I was playing on my phone when I heard a couple pops and I look up and I see a gentleman walking from a white vehicle to another vehicle with a pistol in his hand [sic],” Gonzales recalled.

He continued, “He popped one shot at the vehicle, and that’s when I ducked down, told my two brothers to duck down, and then periodically I would look up to see where he was at.” “Then I threw myself across the front just to take up space so if anything did come flying I was there.”

Meanwhile, Sanchez was trapped inside the restaurant, unaware of exactly what her siblings were seeing outside.

Jaylyn Sanchez Barricaded Herself Inside the Restroom Until She Came Face-to-Face with the Gunman

Sanchez had finished placing her order and was in the restroom when she heard the gunfire begin. Soon, she could hear people screaming and crying as others sought shelter in the same room. With no clear understanding of the shooter’s location, Sanchez attempted to barricade the restroom door in case the armed man entered the restaurant.

The people hiding inside were eventually told that it was safe to leave. Sanchez then made her way outside and began running through the drive-thru area, desperate to reunite with her siblings. However, what waited for her outside proved that the danger was far from over.

“As I was running I faced the shooter head on and he pointed the gun at me [sic],” Sanchez revealed. “I ducked behind a white car just to have some sort of coverage.”

While hiding, Sanchez noticed, “I saw a pistol on a gun case — I am guessing that was his — I didn’t have anything to protect myself so I grabbed the gun and I pulled it back, it was jammed, so I just felt helpless. I saw the truck in front of me so I ran as fast as I could and I just threw it, got in the car and we left [sic],” she added.

Footage from a Witness Captured the Suspect After the Shooting

Another witness recorded what appeared to be part of the suspect’s movements during the final minutes of the incident. The cellphone footage shows people fleeing the area as the armed man moved toward a white vehicle.

According to the video footage obtained by TMZ, the motorist filmed the suspect carrying a long gun as he approached the car. The man opened the driver-side door before popping the trunk and walking toward the rear of the vehicle.

He then reached inside the trunk, causing the motorist recording the scene to fear that he might be retrieving another weapon. The witness quickly drove away rather than remain close enough to discover what the suspect was reaching for.

The sequence was reportedly captured after the shooting but before Williams died from the self-inflicted gunshot wound.

An Off-Duty Trooper and Citizen Returned Fire

Police received the initial report of the shooting at 2:29 p.m. The restaurant was located within an outdoor shopping center. Before responding officers arrived, an off-duty state trooper and a citizen returned fire toward the suspect, according to the latest information released about the investigation.

Local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies responded to the mass shooting. The Twin Falls Fire Department and Magic Valley Paramedics also arrived and assisted victims at the scene.

Investigators asked anyone possessing video recordings, photographs, or other digital evidence connected to the shooting to submit the material through the FBI tip line. People with additional information are also asked to contact the Twin Falls City Communications Center at (208) 735-4357.

In-N-Out Mourns Those Affected

Following the shooting, In-N-Out Owner and President Lynsi Snyder shared a public statement expressing grief over the tragedy and its impact on employees, customers, and their families. The Twin Falls restaurant was the company’s 441st location.

Snyder confirmed on Instagram that one of the company’s associates was among those killed during the shooting:

“She was taking care of our most important asset – our Customers, and her life was taken by a disgusting human who doesn’t value the lives of others or his own. He shot both on our property and off, and ended his life shortly after he took the precious lives of our Associate and Customers, innocent people who never saw it coming.”

She said the company would mourn alongside the victims’ families while supporting employees and customers who witnessed the violence. Snyder described the loss as heartbreaking and encouraged people to seek comfort and strength rather than respond with anger.

She also pledged that In-N-Out would stand together with those affected and “do everything we can to learn from this situation.”

Police Warn Against False Claims Online

According to KTVB 7, Hicks warned the public not to share another name that had begun circulating online, stressing that the individual has no connection to the shooting.

Before taking questions, he urged the public to rely on verified information rather than online speculation. “This information is absolutely false. This gentleman has no involvement in this incident whatsoever,” Hicks said.

Police also said an active-duty service member who shares the suspect’s name has become the target of online harassment and false accusations despite having no involvement in the case.

Online Posts Fuel Speculation

Even as police urged the public to rely on verified information, internet users began searching for details they believed could shed light on the suspect’s background.

A widely shared post on X by @_0HOUR1 claimed users were “putting together a puzzle” on Williams after police identified him. The post suggested he may have left college and pointed to what it described as an X account that was last active in April.

It also included screenshots of older posts discussing careers in criminal investigation and federal law enforcement, along with what appeared to be a College of Southern Idaho (CSI) student profile.

Separately, publicly available CSI Student Senate meeting minutes from February 14, 2023, list a person named “Chad Williams” as a student senator. The meeting minutes document attendance and committee assignments but do not include additional identifying information beyond the name.

Longest-Serving Woman in Congress, 80, Hit by Fleeing Driver en Route to Church — Neighbors Reveal What They Saw

Marcy Kaptur wasn’t headed to a campaign stop or a committee hearing on Sunday morning. She was on her way to church when the sound of crumpling metal stopped a Toledo intersection cold.

By the time neighbors reached their windows, two vehicles sat mangled in the street, and the person responsible for the wreck was already gone. One woman who lived nearby said she initially mistook the crash for something else entirely.

What she saw next would leave her shaken for hours—and it would take Toledo police more than a full day to say they were finally closing in on the driver who caused it all.

A Church-Bound Drive Turns Into a Crash Scene

The 80-year-old congresswoman was riding as a passenger in a vehicle driven by her campaign manager, 26-year-old Kegan Zimmermann.

According to Toledo police, Kaptur was a passenger in a car being driven by Zimmermann that was heading north on Detroit just north of Central when a car traveling south came into its path, causing a collision. The crash unfolded around 10:48 a.m. near North Detroit and West Central avenues on August 2, 2026.

Both Kaptur and Zimmermann were rushed to the hospital afterward. They were taken to the hospital with undisclosed, yet not serious injuries, and by Sunday evening, Toledo police confirmed that both remained in stable condition.

The other driver didn’t stick around to explain what happened. The driver of the other car fled the scene, leaving investigators to piece together the crash from what witnesses and evidence could tell them.

A Neighbor’s Panicked 9-1-1 Call

Morgan Valley didn’t see the crash happen — she heard it. At first, she thought it was cars hitting the water grate in the road, because it made a similar sound.

She ran to her front window expecting something minor. Instead, she saw the first silver vehicle with its engine tossed across the street from the impact, and the second vehicle sitting in her neighbor’s yard.

Valley called 9-1-1 immediately, but the shock didn’t fade. She said she screamed because people initially thought there had been a fatality, and her neighbor told her to get inside the house. All she could do, she said, was pray.

Her account, shared with local station 13abc, gave the first real glimpse of just how violent the impact had been — and how close it may have come to being far worse.

Police Say the Driver Didn’t Get Far Alone

While Valley’s window offered one angle on the crash, another witness gave investigators a critical lead. According to a report from WTOL, that witness said the driver in the other car was picked up by a separate vehicle and fled the scene shortly after the crash.

That detail turned a hit-and-run into something police could actually chase. Both vehicles involved in the crash were impounded, and officers began collecting evidence at the scene.

By Sunday evening, investigators said they were making real headway. Toledo police stated they had made significant progress and continued to follow several strong leads as they worked to identify the driver responsible, adding that the investigation remained active and ongoing.

Toledo Police Chief Mike Troendle also addressed the case directly, striking a personal note. He said he’d spoken with Kaptur himself and was relieved to hear she was doing well, adding that his department remained committed to identifying whoever was behind the wheel and holding them accountable.

Kaptur’s Office Breaks Its Silence

Kaptur’s congressional office confirmed the crash publicly hours after it happened, offering reassurance to a district that had spent the morning refreshing local news.

The statement described her as active, alert, and being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, while the office said it was awaiting more details from Toledo Police as the investigation continued.

The statement also thanked the first responders from the Toledo Police and Fire Departments who arrived promptly on the scene, along with the medical staff treating those involved. Kaptur reportedly wanted her gratitude on record before anything else.

She didn’t stop there. Her office noted she was thankful for the hundreds of constituents who reached out following the crash, and that she was looking forward to returning to a full schedule soon.

The Race That Was Already Making Headlines Before the Crash

The timing of the crash adds another layer to a year that was already politically loaded for Kaptur. She holds a record no other woman in American history has matched — she’s the longest-serving woman in the history of Congress, having represented Ohio since 1983.

That tenure has increasingly become a target. Just months before the crash, Republican Derek Merrin won his party’s primary in Ohio’s 9th Congressional District, setting up a rematch against Kaptur in what’s expected to be one of the most contested House races of the year.

The two have history. Merrin previously tried to unseat Kaptur in 2024 but lost by roughly 2,400 votes—just above the margin needed to trigger an automatic recount—and the race wasn’t officially called until two weeks after Election Day.

This time, the odds look different. Ohio’s 9th District was redrawn in October 2025 into a more Republican-leaning seat ahead of November, a shift expected to hand Kaptur her toughest reelection bid yet as Republicans fight to hold the House. The Cook Political Report has since rated the district a toss-up.

National Republicans haven’t been subtle about their intentions either. In January, the National Republican Campaign Committee said it was poised to flip the district and “retire” Kaptur, referring to her as an “out of touch, career politician” and suggesting she start cleaning out her office.

Kaptur, for her part, has never framed her decades in Washington as overstaying her welcome. Back in 2023, she reflected on why she’d stayed as long as she had.

Her approach to the job, she said, was shaped by her own life experience, and she intended to keep using every bit of her strength to push her message that working-class communities were being overlooked.

As of Sunday evening, the driver who caused the crash remained unidentified publicly, even as police insisted they were closing in.

For a district already bracing for a high-stakes rematch this November, the crash adds an unexpected and deeply personal chapter to Kaptur’s year — one that, for now, ends with her recovering and a search for answers still underway.
