Seaver, who had served as Parton’s head of security for more than two decades — following in the footsteps of his father, Larry — described the weight of fulfilling her final wish.

“This video announcement is something Dolly asked of me years ago, before I fully absorbed it as a future reality,” he said.

In his message, Seaver painted a picture of a woman who lived fully and left the world richer for it. He described Parton as someone who “never saw a door she couldn’t open,” and noted that she had opened doors not just for her family but for “generations of singers, songwriters, musicians, and dreamers from every walk of life and across every continent.”

Dolly Parton was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Dean, who had died in March 2025 at the age of 82. Seaver closed his tribute with words that echoed Parton’s own lifelong motto: “She will always love you.”
