The annual gala—widely known as the “Nerd Prom”—had been underway for only about 20 minutes after the president and first lady arrived when the dramatic incident unfolded. According to federal authorities, an armed man tried to force his way through a secured checkpoint and advance toward the main ballroom before being confronted by U.S. Secret Service agents.

Investigators identified the suspect as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen of Torrance, California, a teacher, video game developer, and California Institute of Technology (Caltech) graduate. Officials said Allen was carrying a shotgun, a handgun, and multiple knives when he rushed the security perimeter, setting off an immediate law enforcement response.

Secret Service agents intercepted the suspect inside the hotel lobby before he could reach the crowded ballroom. A violent struggle followed, during which gunfire erupted. One Secret Service agent was struck at close range, but officials said the agent’s ballistic vest prevented fatal injuries. The wounded officer was transported to a nearby hospital and was reported to be in stable condition. Allen sustained minor injuries before being taken into federal custody.

Within moments, security teams ordered a full evacuation of the venue as heavily armed officers swept the hotel to ensure there were no additional threats. Although organizers initially considered resuming the evening’s program, the White House Correspondents’ Association ultimately canceled the event, citing ongoing security concerns. Officials say the dinner is expected to be rescheduled with significantly enhanced security measures.

President Trump praised the swift actions of the Secret Service, crediting the agency with preventing what could have been a far more serious tragedy. He condemned the suspect’s actions and backed the decision to prioritize the safety of everyone in attendance.

Federal investigators have launched an extensive investigation into Allen’s background, possible motives, and recent activities. Authorities are searching his California residence and reviewing writings reportedly sent to family members shortly before the incident. Investigators currently believe Allen acted alone and have found no immediate evidence of a broader plot or continuing threat.

The attempted attack has intensified scrutiny of security procedures surrounding major political events in the nation’s capital, with officials expected to review how an armed suspect came so close to one of Washington’s most heavily protected annual gatherings.

Akira on BGT 2025 Week 1 😳😂 — The Judges Couldn’t Believe What They Were Watching

Akira on BGT 2025 Week 1 😳😂 — The Judges Couldn’t Believe What They Were Watching

Britain’s Got Talent has welcomed some truly unusual performers over the years, but every once in a while someone walks onto the stage with an act so ridiculous, unpredictable and strangely entertaining that the judges have absolutely no idea what they are about to witness. Akira delivered exactly that kind of moment during Week 1 of BGT 2025. The Japanese variety performer didn’t arrive with a powerful singing voice, an elaborate magic illusion or a dangerous acrobatic routine. Instead, his entire performance was built around comedy, perfect timing and one extremely important challenge: making absolutely sure the objects he was holding stayed in exactly the right place.

From the moment Akira appeared, there was already a sense that this wasn’t going to be a normal audition. Talent-show judges become surprisingly good at predicting performances after watching thousands of contestants. A microphone usually means singing. A deck of cards probably means magic. An unusual costume might suggest comedy. Akira, however, quickly made it clear that trying to predict his act was almost pointless. His performance relied on physical comedy and carefully positioned objects, creating a routine where the joke wasn’t simply what he was doing but the constant possibility that something could go hilariously wrong.

Akira’s concept was simple enough to understand almost immediately. He used recognizable British-themed objects and imagery to strategically cover himself while moving around the stage. One of the most memorable visual jokes involved the Blackpool Tower, an especially appropriate choice considering BGT was filming in Blackpool. The object became part of a carefully timed routine in which Akira had to continuously move, turn and reposition himself without revealing more than television audiences were supposed to see. The result was a strange combination of slapstick comedy, visual illusion and precision.

And that precision is what made the act work. From the audience’s perspective, everything looked chaotic. Akira was moving quickly while the judges watched with a mixture of laughter and nervous disbelief. But a routine like this depends heavily on timing. If an object moves too early, the joke doesn’t work. If Akira turns in the wrong direction, the performance suddenly becomes a very different kind of television broadcast. Every movement had to be coordinated carefully enough to create the impression that disaster was always only a fraction of a second away.

That tension became part of the comedy. The audience wasn’t simply waiting for the next joke; they were watching to see whether Akira could actually complete the routine without making a mistake. It created the same strange feeling viewers sometimes experience during a dangerous stunt, except here the stakes were considerably more embarrassing than physically dangerous. Every time Akira moved an object, there was another moment of uncertainty. Every successful transition produced another laugh. The judges could see exactly what he was doing, yet that didn’t make the performance any less unpredictable.

Simon Cowell appeared particularly entertained by the absurdity of it all. That’s significant because Simon has spent decades watching novelty acts, and getting a genuine laugh from him isn’t always easy. Akira wasn’t pretending his performance was something sophisticated or serious. He understood exactly what kind of act he had brought to BGT and committed completely to the joke. That confidence was essential. An act this silly only works if the performer treats every movement as though the entire routine depends on it.

The other judges had their own reactions, ranging from laughter to disbelief. That variety of responses made the audition even funnier because Akira seemed completely comfortable while everyone behind the judging desk was trying to process what they were seeing. It was a classic reversal. Normally, contestants are nervous because the judges are watching them. In Akira’s case, the judges seemed nervous because they weren’t entirely sure what Akira might accidentally show them next.

😂

There is actually something clever about performances lik e this. The technical skill isn’t immediately obvious because the audience is too busy laughing. Akira wasn’t trying to demonstrate vocal range or athletic strength. His skill was control. He needed awareness of his body, awareness of the objects, knowledge of exactly where the audience and cameras were positioned, and enough confidence to perform the routine without looking hesitant. The entire illusion of danger depended on him appearing just slightly less in control than he really was.

That is why novelty acts have always had a place on Britain’s Got Talent. The show isn’t called Britain’s Got Singers or Britain’s Got Dancers. The format leaves room for almost anything that can entertain an audience. Sometimes that means an extraordinary vocalist receiving a standing ovation. Sometimes it means a magician making something disappear. And sometimes it apparently means a Japanese comedian using the Blackpool Tower to protect his dignity in front of millions of television viewers.

Akira’s audition was successful enough to move him forward in the competition, proving that the judges saw entertainment value underneath all the silliness. Even more impressively, his BGT journey didn’t end after the audition stage. He was eventually selected for the live semi-finals, where he returned with another version of his outrageous visual comedy. By then, audiences already understood the basic concept, which meant Akira faced a new challenge: how do you surprise people when they already know the joke?

His answer was to make the routine even more elaborate. The semi-final appearance once again put him in situations where carefully positioned images and props were the only things standing between a successful television performance and an extremely awkward moment. The public ultimately didn’t send him through to the final, but Akira still managed to finish fourth in his semi-final public vote with 17.5 percent. For a novelty act built around such a deliberately ridiculous idea, reaching the live stages was already a remarkable achievement.

Looking back, his Week 1 audition perfectly represented one of the reasons Britain’s Got Talent remains unpredictable. In the same episode, viewers could watch singers, dancers, magicians and dangerous performers, then suddenly Akira would appear and completely change the mood. There was no emotional backstory required and no enormous production surrounding him. The entertainment came from a simple visual concept executed with confidence and increasingly ridiculous timing.

It also produced exactly the kind of clip people want to share with someone else. You don’t need a long explanation. You simply show them the opening few seconds and wait for the inevitable question:

“What on earth is he doing?!”

And that’s when Akira has you.

You keep watching because you want to know how far he’s going to take the joke. You watch every movement because one mistake could change everything. And by the end, whether you consider it brilliant, ridiculous or somehow both at the same time, you’re unlikely to forget what you just saw.

BGT 2025 began with plenty of impressive talent, but Akira proved once again that sometimes the most memorable contestant isn’t necessarily the one performing the biggest song or the most technically complicated routine. Sometimes all you need is confidence, comic timing, a very unusual idea…

…and a Blackpool Tower that absolutely must not move at the wrong moment. 😳😂

A performance worthy of the Golden Buzz From the Audience to the BGT Stagef4a

Max Fox became one of the most memorable singers on Britain’s Got Talent 2025 after taking an unexpected chance. While sitting in the audience, the Blackpool singer called out to Simon Cowell and asked for an opportunity to perform. Max had reportedly spent around 19 years trying to get in front of Simon.

Max walked onto the stage and performed Frank Sinatra’s “My Way.” His powerful performance quickly impressed the audience and judges.

Amanda Holden was so impressed that she pressed her Golden Buzzer, sending Max directly to the live semi-finals. His unusual audition soon became a viral moment.

The Judges’ Reaction

At first, the judges were surprised by Max suddenly asking to audition. Simon Cowell even questioned whether the moment had been planned.

Once Max began singing, their attitude changed. Amanda Holden gave him the Golden Buzzer, while the other judges praised his voice and emotional performance.

Why Did He Sing “My Way” Again?

For the semi-final, Max originally planned to sing Elton John’s “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me.” However, Simon Cowell advised him to perform “My Way” again because his first performance had become such a big moment.

Max followed the advice and returned with another performance of Sinatra’s classic.

Did Max Fox Win BGT?

No, Max did not win Britain’s Got Talent. However, he came very close to reaching the final.

He received 19.1% of the public vote in his semi-final and finished second. The 2025 winner was magician Harry Moulding, who won the £250,000 prize and the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.

What Happened After BGT?

Max continued working as a professional singer and performer. He became involved with Cirque: The Greatest Show, a production combining live singing, musical theatre and circus performance.

He is also listed as part of the returning BGT-star lineup for the production’s 2027 UK shows.

Max Fox and America’s Got Talent

In 2026, Max tried to get another opportunity from Simon Cowell on America’s Got Talent. He again approached Simon from the audience and hoped to audition.

However, production reportedly told him that he could not audition because of scheduling issues. Max did not perform “My Way” on AGT.

He said he had planned to perform an original song called “Chasing The Horizon” if he had been allowed to audition.

Max Fox Today

Max continues to pursue live singing and theatrical performance. Although he did not win Britain’s Got Talent, his unusual journey made him one of the show’s most memorable singers.

From sitting in the audience to receiving a Golden Buzzer for “My Way,” Max finally got the opportunity he had been waiting years for—and he truly did it his way.

The journey may have ended in the semi-final, but the story continues. The audition reached millions of views and attracted thousands of followers on social media. From sitting in the audience to receiving a Golden Buzzer, it became a remarkable journey that inspired many people. Now, let’s enjoy the full performances and relive all the unforgettable moments.

Paris Hilton, 45, Spotted on a Yacht in Sardinia in a Barely-There Cover-Up — and Her Hat Says It All — Photos

The socialite made sure a sunny afternoon at sea came with one very bold label and an outfit that left little hidden.

Paris Hilton, 45, was photographed aboard a yacht near Sardinia, Italy, on Saturday, August 8, 2026. Between her barely-there cover-up, the words printed across her cap, and the blunt responses from people who saw the pictures, there was plenty to examine before anyone even reached the final photo.

Some netizens thought that she was posing for those selfies and letting herself by caught by paparazzi was on purpose. | Source: Instagram/tmztv

Paris Let Her Outfit Do Most of the Talking

According to TMZ, Paris posed for an impromptu photo session on the yacht’s deck during her Italian vacation. She wore a tiny, multicolored cover-up with a plunging neckline and a short cut that revealed her bare backside.

The outfit may have technically been beachwear, but it did very little covering. Paris appeared completely comfortable in front of the camera, turning the deck into her own casual photo-shoot location.

Her blue cap supplied the joke that tied the entire look together. Written across the front in yellow letters were the words “Trophy Wife.” The playful title matched the confident mood of the pictures. Paris did not need an elaborate setup when her cheeky hat and daring cover-up already gave viewers more than enough to discuss.

Later, Paris moved from the yacht to a smaller craft on the water while holding her son, Phoenix. The child wore a life vest for added safety.

Other netizens wondered why she was doing that in the middle of the ocean where no one can see her. | Source: Facebook/TMZ

That detail carried some history because Paris faced criticism a couple of years earlier after sharing pictures of Phoenix during a day on the water without a life vest. This time, the safety gear was clearly visible.

The Comments Could Not Agree on the Message

People on Threads debated who Paris was dressing for and whether the label on her cap suited her. One person joked, “On a yacht… in the ocean. Who’s she flashing 🤣😂🤣.”

Another offered a harsher assessment of her place in celebrity culture: “Well what can she do these days. She has been “ran over” by Kardashians, Hadid, Jenner and so many others. Its a tough one 😉 [sic].”

Someone else rejected the cap’s description altogether and focused on Paris’ professional success: “She’s not a trophy wife, she’s a career woman and has her own money.”

The reactions on Instagram were just as divided. One critic wrote, “The things you have to do to stay relevant 🙄.” Another remarked, “Of course she never carried her own children or gave birth so her body never changed.”

A supporter placed Paris firmly at the front of modern celebrity photo culture: “She’s literally the best person to ever do it, the original selfie queen.“

Her Selfie Queen Status Has a Long History

That last compliment connects directly to a title Paris has claimed for years: that she and Britney Spears are the inventors of the selfie.

Paris first made the claim in 2017, when the then-39-year-old reality star shared a 2006 picture with Britney. She wrote, “11 years ago today, Me & Britney invented the selfie!”

People quickly responded with much older examples of self-portraits. Paris remained committed to her version of pop-culture history and posted the photograph again in 2020 with the message, “14 years ago, @britneyspears and I invented the selfie [red heart emoji] #LegendsOnly.”

More than 106,000 people liked the post. Many replies borrowed her famous catchphrase and declared, “That’s hot.”

Paris became famous through the reality series “The Simple Life” in the early 2000s. As an heiress to the Hilton hotel chain, she was frequently photographed partying with co-star Nicole Richie, as well as Britney and Lindsay Lohan.

Their nights out arrived as celebrity gossip sites were rapidly gaining readers, years before social media became part of everyday life. The often-invasive paparazzi coverage made the young stars even more recognizable.

Paris and Britney did not actually invent the selfie. The 1991 movie “Thelma and Louise,” for example, included Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon posing for one, and neither Paris nor Britney trademarked the word “selfie.”

Paris does, however, own a trademark for using “That’s hot” on clothing. More broadly, the pair’s photographs and public appearances influenced a generation of pop culture.

Paris Wants Control Over Photos That Are Not Real

Paris may embrace glamorous pictures she chooses to take, but she is also fighting the circulation of fabricated sexual images created without consent. On August 10, 2026, The Times reported that she had joined forces with New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to support major AI legislation.

Alexandria, commonly known as AOC, is co-sponsoring the Defiance Act, while Paris is publicly backing it. Introduced in May 2025, the bill would allow victims to sue people responsible for creating or distributing explicit deepfakes made with their images and without their consent.

Survivor Recounts the Terrifying Seconds Before She and 13 Others Were Thrown Into New York Harbor — and the Desperate Cries That Followed

The birthday group expected an evening of sightseeing beside one of New York City’s most famous landmarks. Within seconds, they were trapped beneath an overturned boat, and two loved ones had vanished in the harbor.

Paula Rivera and her daughter, Sara Raez, survived the horrifying accident on Saturday, August 8, 2026. Their accounts reveal how quickly the celebration collapsed, what passengers were allegedly told before boarding, and the painful uncertainty that followed their rescue as two of their loved ones had disappeared.

A Surprise Birthday Cruise Left Randall’s Island

The 21-foot bowrider had been booked through a legit company for Paula’s surprise 41st birthday celebration. According to the New York Post, the group consisted of 14 relatives and friends.

They boarded at Randall’s Island at approximately 7 p.m. and headed toward the Statue of Liberty. The plan was to give Paula a memorable sightseeing trip around New York Harbor.

The passengers included a 27-year-old mother from College Point, Queens, her 5-month-old daughter, and her partner, Andres Garcia. The couple’s 6-year-old son, Salvador Garcia, was not on the boat.

As the vessel began returning from Liberty Island later that evening, the mood changed with terrifying speed.

The Boat Rose Before Everything Turned Upside Down

Sara, 20, remembered water entering the vessel shortly before it capsized. There was almost no time for anyone aboard to understand the danger or prepare for impact. “The water got into the boat. The boat went up, and when it went down, it was in seconds, it flipped over,” she said.

All 14 passengers were thrown into the harbor. Some initially found themselves beneath the overturned vessel and had to fight their way out.

“Everyone was on the bottom of the boat. We were just trying to get out,” Sara recalled. Once they surfaced, panic spread because the mother and baby were nowhere to be seen.

“Then, when finally everyone got out, everyone was screaming, because we were still missing them, too,” she said.

Those cries continued as the survivors struggled to remain near the capsized boat. Some climbed on top of its exposed hull while others stayed in the water.

Their First Attempts to Get Help Failed

Roughly 15 minutes passed before the stranded group spotted another vessel in the distance. They waved desperately, but the boat did not come to them. A second vessel eventually appeared. Sara described it as another party boat, and everyone immediately began shouting for its attention.

“Then we saw another boat, and we all started screaming, ‘Help, help, help.’ And they started getting close,” she said. People aboard the approaching boat threw life jackets into the water. Sara swam toward it as the rescue effort began.

Andres was among those pulled from the harbor. Photographs later showed the grieving father weeping after his rescue, while the search for his partner and infant daughter continued.

The survivors repeatedly asked authorities to find the missing pair, but Sara said they received no immediate answers.

“We would just keep screaming, ‘Please help us find them.’ And then police wouldn’t tell us anything,” she recalled. “Then we went to the police, and then we went to the hospital. And we spent the whole night there.”

The Family Says They Were Assured It Was Legal

Paula said the boating company, Zeus Luxury, had told the group that “everything” about the trip was legal, including the number of passengers allowed aboard.

The vessel reportedly had seating for no more than 10 people, based on its online specifications and information from NYPD sources. Fourteen passengers were packed onto it that night.

Paula also said the operator permitted the 5-month-old baby to board as long as she wore a life vest. According to Paula, the remaining passengers were told they did not need to wear one.

Those assurances now carry crushing weight for the survivors. The birthday trip ended with the deaths of the young mother and her infant daughter. Even more heartbreaking, Sara revealed that Salvador’s birthday was coming later that same week.

The 6-year-old now faces that occasion without his mother and sister. Paula had been present when the baby was born, making the tragedy intensely personal for her. “He [Andres] has to figure out how to live without them. It’s a big loss,” Paula said.

Sara expressed the shock that remained after the family’s night at the hospital. “Nobody is prepared for this to happen,” she said. The mother and the baby have been identified: Sara Sanchez, 27, and her 5-month-old daughter, Antonella Garcia, and the captain of the boat now faces serious criminal charges.

According to our earlier report, shortly before 10:30 p.m., everyone aboard the 2019 white Yamaha AR210 was thrown into New York Harbor. Emergency footage described by the New York Post showed red and blue lights moving across the dark water as rescue crews searched for passengers.

NYPD helicopters hovered above the harbor while FDNY vessels, the U.S. Coast Guard and Air Sea Rescue joined the response. The following morning, images showed crews lifting the overturned 21-foot bowrider from the water.

Witness Madeline Hunter remembered the frantic activity around the scene. “I saw a lot of ambulances, firefighters, and then I saw that there were boats here,” she told Eyewitness News.

“And then people were just saying that there was a mother and a child that needed to be rescued from the water and that they were found.”

Sara and Antonella were pulled from the harbor and taken to a hospital, where both were pronounced dead. A loved one could be heard crying, “No! Why? Why? No!” at the hospital that night.

A Father Returned Without His Family

Andres was photographed crying as rescuers brought him to safety. He had worked hard to provide for Sara and their children, his boss said, and the family had moved into their College Point, Queens, neighborhood only two months earlier.

Neighbor Diego Naranjo struggled to absorb the news. “I’m in shock right now,” Diego told the New York Post. “She was a really nice person. My condolences to her family.” The couple came from Colombia and had no other relatives in the United States, according to Andres’ employer.

Sara, Antonella, the captain, and 11 other passengers had been aboard the boat. Along with Sara, the women were ages 20, 41, 43, 43, 44, and 45, while the six men, including the operator, ranged from 29 to 58.

All but one passenger lived in Queens. The exception was a 58-year-old man from Park Avenue between East 95th and East 96th streets in Manhattan.

The other 11 passengers rescued from the harbor were transported to NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn, formerly Lutheran Hospital. They were in stable condition with minor injuries, and some still held their life jackets after arriving.

The Captain Faces 13 Charges

Police identified the boat’s operator as Manuel Hernandez, 46, whose last known address was an upscale Midtown Manhattan building near Central Park South. His relationship to Sara, Andres and the other passengers remained unclear.

Manuel was taken into custody and charged with 13 counts of reckless endangerment. Authorities indicated that additional charges connected to Sara and Antonella’s deaths could follow as the investigation continued.

Toxicology testing did not indicate that Manuel was impaired at the time, according to law enforcement sources. Investigators instead turned their attention toward the vessel’s passenger load and the circumstances surrounding the outing.

The Factors That May Have Contributed to the Incident

One of the factors that may have contributed to the incident is that the AR210 had 14 people aboard despite a typical capacity of approximately 10, according to online specifications and police sources.

A knowledgeable source said even 10 would have been excessive for that part of New York Harbor, where an experienced captain should have limited the boat to five passengers.

“Recreational boating in New York Harbor is the Wild West,” the source said, citing uncharted debris, riprap, bridge abutments, anchorage chains, commercial shipping channels and seaplane traffic.

Rod Stewart’s Family Tree Revealed: A Newborn Grandchild, the Wife He Proposed to After 3 Weeks, and the Partner Who Sued Him for $25 Million — Photos

The singer’s sprawling family tree began with a painful decision made before fame and fortune arrived. Decades later, it includes an audacious proposal over sandwiches, a multimillion-dollar courtroom fight, an enduring marriage pact, and a baby whose meaningful name moved an entire family.

Rod Stewart has eight children with five women, and their stories rarely follow the route expected of a rock star’s family. Some entered entertainment, but others chose hockey, wellness, writing, business, and lives kept almost entirely away from public view.

Susannah Boffey and the Daughter They Could Not Raise

Stewart and his teenage girlfriend, Susannah Boffey, met at a nightclub before his music career took off. Their relationship produced his first child, but the young couple had neither the money nor the stability to raise her.

Their daughter was placed in care at one and moved between foster homes before Evelyn and Gerald Thubron adopted her at five. Boffey later said Stewart had romanticized their relationship in “Brighton Beach,” a song from his 2013 album “Time,” and accused him of abandoning both mother and child.

Stewart’s version carried guilt of its own. In a later interview, he recalled the fear of telling his parents about the pregnancy.

“My mum wanted to know if I was going to get married, and I said, ‘Well, not really, Mum,’ you know. She’s really old-fashioned. She said, ‘Well, she won’t get married in white, will she?’ I didn’t have a [expletive] clue what that meant.”

Boffey and Stewart never rebuilt their relationship. Yet the daughter they gave up eventually found a way back to her famous father, though that reconciliation took almost half a century.

Alana Stewart, His First Wife, Carried Private Pain Into Hollywood

Alana Stewart, born Alana Kaye Collins in San Diego on May 18, 1945, endured abandonment, poverty, and an unstable childhood in rural Texas. She escaped to New York, became a Ford model, and built an acting career that included “Evel Knievel,” “Night Call Nurses,” and “Delivered.”

She married actor George Hamilton in 1972 before marrying Stewart in 1979. Their glamorous life included famous friends and lavish travel, but she later acknowledged that she was deeply unhappy.

“I was expecting a man or the marriage to make me happy when it was really up to me to deal with what I had been holding deep inside me,” she told CBS12. “Happiness is an inside job, isn’t it?”

Her memoir, “Rearview Mirror“, addressed her marriages, bulimia, depression, sexual assault, family addiction, and the death of her best friend, Farrah Fawcett, from anal cancer in 2009.

Kelly Emberg and the $25 Million Claim

Model and actress Kelly Emberg was born in Houston, Texas, on July 2, 1959. Her screen credits include “Portfolio,” “Dumb Luck in Vegas,” and “Art Be Damned!” Emberg met Stewart in 1983, and the two were living together by 1985. Their relationship ended in 1990 after they had welcomed their daughter, Ruby Stewart.

The separation soon entered a Los Angeles courtroom. Emberg filed a $25 million palimony claim, arguing that an agreement entitled her to half the assets accumulated during their relationship, including properties in Holmby Hills and Epping, England.

In June 1992, Judge David Horowitz dismissed the case, finding no merit in the claim that Stewart had promised to support Emberg for life. Stewart had already married his next wife by then.

Emberg eventually built a different kind of enterprise. She now describes herself on Instagram as the founder and CEO of sun-protection sportswear company BESO Shade, as well as an enthusiastic gardener and pickleball player.

Rachel Hunter and a Proposal Over Tuna Sandwiches

Rachel Hunter was born in Auckland, New Zealand, on September 8, 1969. An illness ended her childhood plans to become a ballet dancer, but modeling carried her from New Zealand to international magazine covers and eventually into acting.

Hunter was 21 when she met Stewart, who was 24 years older, in Los Angeles. During a 1996 television interview, she confirmed that he proposed only three weeks after they met, and that he did it over tuna fish sandwiches.

They married in Beverly Hills on December 15, 1990, three months into their romance. Their children, Renée Stewart and Liam Stewart, arrived in 1992 and 1994.

In a 1993 profile, Hunter described herself as the practical partner who kept their household organized. She also defended Stewart as an attentive father and welcomed his older children without trying to replace their mothers.

The couple separated in January 1999 after eight years together, although their divorce was not finalized until November 2009. Hunter later hosted “Rachel Hunter’s Tour of Beauty,” judged “New Zealand’s Got Talent,” and entered the South African jungle for the 2026 Australian season of “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”

Her engagement to hockey player Jarret Stoll ended seven weeks before their planned 2009 wedding. As of 2026, Hunter had not publicly confirmed another relationship.

Penny Lancaster and the Small Rituals That Lasted

Penny Lancaster met Stewart in a nightclub after her friends dared her to request an autograph. When she mentioned studying photography, he invited her to photograph his concert the following night, a polished pickup line she later described in an interview as “crafty.”

But they did not meet again for nine months. When Stewart finally left a message on her landline asking to see her, Lancaster arrived for their reunion completely covered in brown pleather trousers, a rollneck, and a buttoned jacket because she wanted him to understand there was more to discover.

After five years together, Stewart proposed at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris on March 9, 2005. “I left it this long because I wanted to get it right this time,” he said in a statement confirmed by People.

The couple married in 2007 and became parents to Alastair Stewart and Aiden Stewart after Lancaster endured two miscarriages and underwent IVF for their younger son. Their relationship has lasted through deliberate attention rather than one grand romantic trick.

Lancaster said they made a pact never to spend more than 10 days apart. She also told the Mirror that they protect time for meals together and regularly check in with each other amid work and parenting.

Those modest acts of care became their real marital secret. A bath waiting after traffic, a glass of wine, a phone call after work, or a cup of tea mattered because each showed that one partner had remembered the other.

Now, let’s get to know his eight children.

Sarah Streeter, His Firstborn, Reclaimed the Word “Dad”

Sarah Streeter learned at 18 that Stewart was her biological father. The revelation stunned her, especially because she already had the singer’s poster hanging in her bedroom. They met several times during her 20s, but their connection faded by the late 1980s.

Nearly 20 years of minimal contact followed, leaving Streeter with unhappiness and resentment as she watched his public family life from afar. After her adoptive mother, Evelyn Thubron, died in 2007, Stewart reached out.

Calls, emails, dinners, and family gatherings gradually brought Streeter closer to him, Penny Lancaster, and several of her half-siblings. Their changing language revealed how far they had come.

Stewart told the Standard, “We’ve just began to call each other ‘father and daughter’, which was hard because I didn’t change nappies or take her to school, or help her do her homework.”

Streeter initially struggled to call him “Dad” because that name already belonged to Gerald Thubron, the man who raised her. Eventually, she accepted that both relationships could hold different places in her life.

Her bond with Boffey remained broken. Streeter said their personalities and expectations clashed when they met, while Boffey’s failure to acknowledge her adoptive mother’s death caused deeper hurt.

She also objected when Boffey linked her failed romantic relationships to unresolved feelings about Stewart. In the Daily Mail, Streeter insisted those relationships ended for reasons unrelated to her father. “I used to be like Susannah, full of resentment,” she admitted.

Although Streeter did not completely rule out reconciliation, she said Boffey would need to let go of her negativity first.

Kimberly Stewart, His Daughter With Alana Stewart, Became a Mother of Two

Kimberly Stewart was born in Holmby Hills, California, on August 20, 1979. Her screen work includes “Pacific Blue,” “Undeclared,” and “Lost Lake.”

Kimberly shares daughter Delilah Genoveva Stewart Del Toro, one of Stewart’s grandchildren, with actor Benicio del Toro and later welcomed a son whose life she has kept private. She continues to share selected glimpses of her family and work on social media.

Sean Stewart, His Son With Alana, Followed Music Into Reality Television

Sean Stewart grew up in Los Angeles and pursued songwriting, performing, modeling, and television production. He co-wrote and sang “In Crowd,” the theme for the 2006 A&E reality series “Sons of Hollywood,” in which he also appeared.

His career included runway appearances for Rock & Republic and Nico & Adrian. He married Jody Weintraub on February 14, 2023, though she later filed for divorce, and he continues to document parts of his life online.

Ruby Stewart, His Daughter With Kelly, Revealed the New Baby’s Name

Ruby Stewart became a musician and mother, welcoming son Otis Kalick with husband Jake Kalick before expanding her family in August 2026. On August 9, she announced that her second child had arrived five days earlier.

Levi Rhodes Kalick was born at 6:58 p.m. on August 4, weighing nine pounds and measuring 20 inches. In her announcement, Ruby explained that Levi means “My Heart.”

“Seeing Otis and Levi meet for the first time might have been the greatest experience of my life so far.”

The post gave Stewart another grandson and Otis a younger brother. For a family formed across several relationships and generations, the name’s meaning carried an especially tender weight.

Renée Stewart, His Daughter With Rachel, Built a Life Around Movement

Renée Stewart trained at the London Contemporary Dance School and completed 500 hours of yoga teacher training in India. Her work now connects dance, meditation, digital instruction, and wellness.

‘All That’ Actress Christy Knowings, 46, Dies After Sudden Health Crisis — Cast Members React

The comedy star spent years bringing outlandish characters to life, but her final days unfolded with a speed and severity few could have anticipated. A medical emergency left her family facing an agonizing decision only days after she entered the hospital.

Christy Knowings, best known for her work on Nickelodeon’s “All That,” died Tuesday night at 46. As news of her death spread, former castmates shared memories that showed how much of herself she gave both on camera and away from it.

A Sudden Emergency Became a Family’s Worst Fear

Knowings was hospitalized on Friday, August 7, 2026, after suffering an asthma attack, according to information a family member provided to TMZ. The attack caused brain damage, and she was placed on life support.

She remained on life support through Tuesday, August 11. Her family then made the painful decision to remove her from it, and Knowings died that night at a hospital in the Los Angeles area.

For many viewers, especially those who grew up watching Nickelodeon in the late 1990s, her death meant losing one of the performers who helped define an important period of childhood television.

She Found Her Place in a Famous Comedy Family

Born in the Bronx, Knowings appeared in “And Now This,” a Rosie O’Donnell sketch-comedy special produced by Nickelodeon, before joining “All That” in 1997. She remained a regular cast member for three seasons, through 2000.

The series brought Knowings into an ensemble that included Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon, and other young performers. Its cast helped turn “All That” into one of Nickelodeon’s signature shows.

The sketch series also produced several spinoffs, including “Kenan & Kel,” “The Amanda Show,” and “The Nick Cannon Show.” Knowings became part of that wider legacy through characters whose exaggerated personalities suited her bold approach to comedy.

Among her best-known roles were Penny Lane and Jessica. Jessica appeared alongside Bynes’ character in the recurring “Whateverrr!!!” sketches, which centered on two excitable girls with strong opinions and shared celebrity crushes.

Her career also extended beyond “All That.” Knowings appeared in three episodes of “Sesame Street” with her real-life twin brother, Chris Knowings. In 2020, she released the folk single “To the World,” adding music to a creative life most closely associated with acting and comedy.

The tributes that followed her death revealed another part of her story. Behind the memorable characters was a woman her colleagues considered kind, supportive, and impossible to overlook once a scene began.

Her Nickelodeon Family Remembers Her

Mitchell, who worked alongside Knowings on “All That,” praised the individuality behind her performances. He remembered a naturally funny comedian who was willing to take risks and build characters entirely her own way.

“Christy was truly one of a kind,” Mitchell wrote in his farewell post. “She had a gift for creating characters that were big, memorable, and completely her own.”

Mitchell said he remained grateful for their laughter and their time together as members of the “All That” family. He thanked Knowings for the joy she gave audiences and sent his love to her relatives and friends.

Thompson also expressed shock over the loss of his former “All That” colleague. “Never could have imagined this day!!” Thompson wrote in his remembrance. “She was a real one and one of the funniest people out here!!!”

The “SNL” star asked followers to show Knowings love and said he would miss his friend. Josh Server remembered how naturally Knowings entered an already established cast. Although she joined later in the show’s original run, he said she immediately found her rhythm.

“Christy was a light in every room and was such a kind soul,” Server wrote in an Instagram tribute. “Every time we performed she made every one around her better.”

Lisa Foiles joined “All That” after Knowings’ time on the program, but Knowings had already influenced her long before they met. Foiles said she closely studied the earlier performer’s expressions and complete dedication to every joke.

“Christy was mesmerizing to me on All That,” Foiles wrote in an Instagram reel. “I dreamed of being in her shoes, and even when I joined the show, I knew they were impossibly big shoes to fill.”

Foiles eventually met the performer she had admired and discovered that her kindness matched her talent. She encouraged fans to spend time watching Knowings make them laugh, directing their grief back toward the work that first connected them.

Angelique Bates‘ tribute revealed an even more private side of Knowings’ life. Bates, an original “All That” cast member, said their relationship had grown into a close bond that continued even away from Nickelodeon. “I lost my SISTER,” Bates wrote in her personal tribute. “This SISTERHOOD was beyond ALL THAT.”

The women spoke for hours and consistently supported each other’s work. Bates shared that Knowings had traveled a considerable distance only months earlier to attend an event for which Bates was working as the publicist.

Bates said she was grateful that she and Latangela Newsome repeatedly told Knowings how talented and loved she was. Her message closed with a direct request: “Don’t EVER forget her name!“

The praise from Mitchell, Thompson, Server, Foiles, and Bates also pointed toward the same quality: Knowings left a lasting impression whether someone worked beside her, followed her into the cast, or knew her away from the cameras.

Her own reflections from years earlier help explain why that impression lasted.

Her Favorite Character Followed Her Off Camera

In a 2019 Bustle interview, Knowings spoke with delight about the freedom “All That” gave her. She singled out Gloria Bankhead as her favorite character.

Gloria, whom Knowings played during Season 6, was an exaggerated take on Martha Stewart. The role allowed her to try a kind of performance she had never attempted before.

Knowings recalled staying in character throughout the workday, even when cameras were not rolling. Writers and stage managers embraced the bit and greeted her as Gloria around the set.

Some of her fondest memories involved the musical guests who visited “All That.” When 98 Degrees appeared, Knowings entertained the group backstage by guessing their zodiac signs and pretending to read their palms.

She also remembered meeting the Spice Girls. One of her castmates was so excited that he repeatedly struggled to deliver his line, though Knowings said the visiting performers were patient about it.

Those memories offered a glimpse of a production that could feel like a child’s fantasy while still carrying the demands of a professional television set. Knowings understood both sides, but the stories she preserved were rooted in laughter and spontaneous play.

Her Work Carried More Meaning Than She First Realized

Knowings later recognized that her presence on television mattered to young viewers who rarely saw themselves represented in children’s sketch comedy. She identified herself as Native American Afro-Latina and said her Bronx background helped her bring details to the show that its writers might not otherwise have known.

She and Thompson could contribute cultural touches drawn from their own experiences. Knowings specifically remembered “Inconvenience Store” as a sketch that included elements audiences understand more readily now than they did at the time.

The show welcomed those contributions. For Knowings, that made the comedy more authentic and allowed the cast’s differences to become a creative advantage.

The full impact became clearer when Black viewers who watched her seasons told her they had paid particular attention to her. Knowings had been the only Black girl in the cast when she joined, a responsibility she had not completely understood while filming.

Oprah Winfrey Makes Rare Outing with Her Partner of 40 Years — and Netizens Can’t Agree on What They See in the Photos

The acclaimed TV host and media mogul reunited with her former Harpo team in Chicago — and her longtime partner was by her side for the rare public appearance.

The gathering marked the approaching 40th anniversary of “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” but new images of Winfrey and businessman Stedman Graham soon prompted a separate conversation online.

On August 10, 2026, Winfrey shared footage from the reunion on Instagram, explaining that former Harpo parking manager Ty Owens had brought past employees together in Chicago. “I can’t believe that this September 8 marks 40 years since The Oprah Show debuted!” she wrote.

Winfrey thanked Owens for organizing the gathering and former personal chef Art Smith for hosting it at his Chicago restaurant, Reunion. She also praised her former Harpo colleagues, calling them “the greatest team ever.”

“And to ‘all my children’ who got raised from The Oprah Show by me, your mamas, and grandmamas, we’ll celebrate on the @oprahpodcast in September!” Winfrey added.

Winfrey’s friend Jill Van Lokeren shared additional images from the event on the same platform. She described the reunion as “a night of all love and pure joy” and thanked Winfrey, Smith and Owens.

The Reunion Put Winfrey and Graham Side by Side Again

The images show Winfrey standing between Graham and Smith as the group gathered around a large platter of fried chicken.

Winfrey wore a light pinstriped suit with a pale blouse, white sneakers and tinted sunglasses. Her hair fell in loose waves around her shoulders. Graham stood beside her in a dark suit with an open-collar white shirt. He wore his gray hair short and kept his familiar mustache.

The New Photos Sparked Conflicting Reactions

Once the latest images circulated, netizens began offering very different interpretations of what they saw. On Facebook, one netizen said, “He doesn’t look like he wants to be there.”

In a separate discussion, another commenter focused on Winfrey, writing, “Wow, Oprah shrunk and where did that hair go?” Someone else compared the couple’s appearance, saying, “They have the same hairline.” Another person zeroed in on Winfrey’s hairstyle: “Who did her hair? Oprah needs her bangs back….”

Other reactions centered more heavily on Graham. One viewer wrote, “He looks way older than her.” Another simply remarked, “So weird!” A different person appeared surprised that the man beside Winfrey was Graham, asking, “Is that him!😳”

The reunion photos appear to be the latest public images of Winfrey and Graham together. Before this outing, the couple had last been photographed together publicly at the Tyler Perry Studios Grand Opening Gala in Atlanta on October 5, 2019.

At the gala, Graham stood just behind Winfrey on the red carpet as she posed in a long dark gown and he wore a black suit and tie. In another photo from the event, Winfrey spoke with reporters while Graham remained nearby, with Tyler Perry standing beside her.

The public appearance also brings renewed focus to the decades-long relationship Oprah Winfrey and Graham have maintained largely outside the spotlight. Although they once planned to marry, the couple ultimately chose not to tie the knot and have remained together in an unconventional relationship.

How Oprah and Stedman Met

Despite being famous and influential, Winfrey chooses to keep her love life private. For over 30 years, Graham has been a critical support system for the show host. Their commitment and loyalty speak volumes. But, how did it all begin?

A young-looking Winfrey met Graham at a Chicago charity event in 1986. The TV host once said she noticed the entrepreneur moving around town with his girlfriend, but they found themselves single at a friend’s house one day.

The duo decided to step out and have a chat. Winfrey once reflected on their first interaction, noting she was not overly impressed at first, although she found him handsome, too handsome to be interested in her.

Recalling the moment, Winfrey said, “We left together, and I asked if he wanted to get a beer. (Yes, I drank a lot of beer then and wore cowboy boots every day.) He said he didn’t drink. (Still doesn’t—not one sip of nothin’ alcoholic since I’ve known him).”

The media mogul continued, “I thought he was nice enough, but I wasn’t that impressed. He was polite, yes, and kind. The sort of guy who sits with an ailing friend. Tall and handsome, for sure. But actually too handsome, I thought, to be interested in me.”

Before meeting Winfrey, Graham was married to Glenda, with whom he had a daughter, Wendy, in 1974. However, the “Oprah Winfrey Network” producer said to People magazine that her producers were wary of the former athlete and sportswear model. They thought he was a fraud.

It Took 6 Years Before Stedman Started Keeping ‘A Toothbrush at [Her] Apartment’

At first, Winfrey said she did not jump into a relationship with Graham. Her friends advised her to keep things simple with him until she was sure he was single and genuine.

The duo only began dating after Winfrey was sure she had made the right choice. However, gaining the trust of one of the most influential black women in the world isn’t an ordinary feat. It took months for Graham to prove his loyalty and support.

Winfrey later remarked that Graham was not one of those who wanted to ride in a limo, but instead, he was willing to “run and catch the bus” with her.

During the early months of their relationship, Graham traveled on weekends from his humble High Point apartment to her luxurious condo on Chicago’s Gold Coast.

Winfrey was headlining her show, “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” at the time. Graham began spending more time in Chicago, working with the non-profit Athletes Against Drugs, which he founded.

Things progressed sweetly between the lovers, but they made sure to safeguard their relationship from the prying eyes of the media. However, Graham sometimes made unannounced appearances on her show.

Graham made a surprise appearance on Winfrey’s show during a viewer Q&A. He dialed in to see whether Winfrey would spill the beans on what she told her close buddy Gayle King about their relationship.

Winfrey and Graham’s romance has been a sweet journey, but one with its fair share of controversies. First, the couple had to deal with media storms, including a false allegation that Graham was having an affair with Winfrey’s hairdresser, which a Chicago columnist spread.

The columnist, Ann Gerber, swiftly issued a retraction and apologized to Winfrey. The lovebirds have had several milestone moments in their relationship. One such moment came in 1991 when Winfrey finally allowed Graham to keep a toothbrush in her house after six years of dating.

Their 1992 proposal was another big moment in their lives. For years, Winfrey had been quizzed on her marriage plans. However, she gave no affirmative response until their engagement in 1992.

The former athlete proposed to Winfrey in style. Winfrey was waiting for Graham to arrive from Chicago and was hanging out in her kitchen with Gayle King. She stepped outside to meet Graham and was stunned when he proposed to her.

Their conversation seemed too casual for a proposal. The pair kept their engagement a secret for a few weeks until Winfrey revealed it during a November guest appearance on King’s TV show.

Why Oprah Will Never Marry Stedman

In her 2020 piece about her romance with Graham, Winfrey recalled the instant joy of being proposed to and then realized she loved her relationship with him as it was.

The media mogul realized she had doubts about being married. In addition, the 68-year-old said she did not want to make the sacrifices of being married. For Winfrey, her show was her priority.

Despite pressure from her famous friends like Tina Turner, Winfrey believes marriage is not for her. However, after attending Turner’s wedding in Germany, the show host considered marrying Graham but had a change of heart.

Winfrey admits that she and Graham would not have lasted if they had married. But, according to the media star, her relationship with the former model is so odd that it wouldn’t have fit inside the boundaries of marriage.

Winfrey said of her decision to stay unmarried, “If you ever interviewed him, he would tell you that had we married, we would not be together today. Because he’s a traditional man, and this is a very untraditional relationship.” The show host believes she does not fit in with the demands of a “wife.”

Their Unconventional Relationship

Although they never got married, Winfrey and Graham enjoy a supportive relationship. According to the longtime presenter, her boyfriend respects her fame and never tries to compete.

Speaking of their relationship, Winfrey said, “I happen to be with a man who has always appreciated the fact that I was…considered a powerful person. [He’s] not trying to crowd in on it, not competing with it. He knows how to hold his own.”

Although she struggled with her physical appearance, Winfrey said Graham was supportive and helped build her confidence. The TV legend remarkably shed some weight but claimed it was not done for her boyfriend.

Winfrey said she did it for herself, even though she loves Graham. She said, “I love Stedman very much. And he cares about me and has been very supportive of me, fat and thin.”

Winfrey believes weight loss should be self-motivated. But, she added, “I did not do this for Stedman…You know you cannot do it [lose weight] for anybody but yourself.”

The couple is now grandparents to Wendy’s child, and the experience has been a lovely one for Winfrey. The media mogul loves her world just the way it is.
