A Bank of America vice president was killed in a broad-daylight stabbing near Times Square on August 31, 2026, as violence unfolded in Midtown Manhattan.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) identified the victim as Erin Piacenti, 32, who was fatally wounded during the Monday afternoon attack.

Bank of America (BofA) confirmed the loss of an employee, while an internal memo reviewed by Reuters identified Erin as the victim.

The stabbing prompted a major emergency response in one of Manhattan’s busiest areas. What happened in the moments leading up to Erin’s death began one block away.

A Man Was Stabbed First

The first victim was a 68-year-old man who had exited the subway and was waiting with his wife to cross the street near 41st Street and Seventh Avenue.

Police said the suspect, Pamela Cisneros, approached the couple while carrying two knives. A witness told investigators that Pamela had the weapons inside a red Target bag before removing them, according to NBC New York.

Pamela waved the knives and stabbed the man in the side, police said. She then continued north on Seventh Avenue toward 42nd Street. Police said the next stabbing occurred about 20 seconds later.

What Erin Piacenti Was Doing Moments Before the Attack

Erin was walking along Seventh Avenue near 42nd Street at about 4:30 p.m., according to Fox 5 New York. She was about one block north of the location where the 68-year-old man had just been stabbed.

After attacking the man, Pamela continued north and approached Erin, police said. About 20 seconds separated the two stabbings. Pamela stabbed Erin in the stomach.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch later described the stabbings as a “random and unprovoked attack,” according to CBS News. “At this point in the investigation, we have no reason to believe this incident was an attack of terrorism,” she said.

After stabbing Erin, police said Pamela continued north on Seventh Avenue while still carrying both knives.

Police Confronted Pamela Cisneros After the Second Stabbing

Pamela encountered officers between 42nd and 43rd streets, according to police. The officers repeatedly ordered her to put down the knives. The encounter lasted about four minutes, Commissioner Jessica said.

Pamela refused to comply. “I’m not dropping anything. I would rather kill both of you,” Pamela said during the encounter, according to Commissioner Jessica. Police said she also repeatedly threatened to kill the officers.

Officers deployed stun guns, but police said they appeared to have no effect. Pamela then advanced toward the officers, and two officers opened fire.

“This was an extraordinarily dangerous situation unfolding in the heart of Times Square, the crossroads of the world,” Commissioner Jessica said.

Police said Pamela had documented mental health-related contacts with the NYPD dating to 2018 and 2019, according to NBC New York. She had no criminal history. Police described Pamela as emotionally disturbed.

The NYPD Commissioner and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani defended the officers’ use of lethal force. The police shooting will be investigated, which is standard following an officer-involved shooting in New York, according to The Guardian.

“I want to thank the NYPD officers who stepped in and prevented a horrific attack from becoming even worse,” the mayor said.

Pamelas was taken to Bellevue Hospital and pronounced dead. The two stabbing victims were also transported to Bellevue. Erin died, while the 68-year-old man survived.

The First Victim Was Visiting From Rhode Island

The 68-year-old man is from Rhode Island and was believed to have been visiting family in New York, according to ABC7 New York. His next-door neighbor, August DiMartino, spoke about the attack after learning what had happened.

“Absolutely terrible, to just find out that something that horrible can happen to somebody that close to you really makes the community seem vulnerable,” August said.

ABC7 also spoke with the victim’s family by phone Tuesday. The family declined an interview but provided a brief update on his condition. “He seems fine,” they said. The man was released from Bellevue late Tuesday afternoon.

From Friends to Forever

Brandon and Katarina Demetriades are engaged, with the 30-year-old producer proposing during a trip to Indonesia on August 29, 2026.

The pair grew up in Los Angeles and were friends for years before their relationship became romantic in 2025. They now live together in New York and reportedly plan to marry in late 2027.

That history makes their engagement all the sweeter. Rather than a whirlwind romance between strangers, Brandon and Katarina’s relationship grew from a friendship that had already been established long before wedding plans entered the picture. And when they finally chose to tell the world, they did not settle for a simple announcement.

Fans quickly joined the celebration, with one commenter writing, "You’re a good son and deserve a great wife just like your mama." The remark was among several messages connecting Brandon's happy news back to his famous mother. | Source: Instagram/katarina.deme and brandonthomaslee

Pamela Anderson Had Plenty to Say About the Match

The milestone marks another emotional family chapter for Pamela, 59, and Tommy, 63, who welcomed Brandon in 1996, a year after marrying.

Their younger son, Dylan Jagger Lee, arrived in 1997. Pamela and Tommy divorced in 1998 after three years of marriage.

Earlier in 2026, the former couple reunited for another major occasion when Dylan married Interior Designer Paula Bruss in Saint-Tropez, the same destination where Dylan and Paula had become engaged two years earlier.

Speaking about Dylan’s wedding, Pamela admitted the experience was unexpectedly moving. “Tears are catching me off guard at times — happy tears. But as Khalil Gibran says, ‘As parents, we are the bow from which life springs.'”

She later explained just how emotional the transition felt. “It kind of catches you off guard even because we’ve all been living such independent lives. My boys are very independent and they’ve all lived on their own for many years and [he and Paula have] been together for nine years, but it really did feel like, oh, ‘Dylan is not mine anymore. He and Paula belong together.'”

Brandon attended that celebration with Katarina, in what became their first prominent public appearance together. Now it is Brandon preparing for a wedding of his own.

Both Dylan and Katarina Had Notable Romantic Chapters Before Finding Each Other

Before their romance began in 2025, neither Brandon nor Katarina was entirely unfamiliar with public relationships. E! News reported that Brandon had previously been romantically linked to Kathryn Newton, Bella Thorne, and Lily Easton.

Katarina, meanwhile, dated The Kid Laroi from 2020 until 2023. Then, her and Brandon’s friendship eventually became something more, and less than two years after they began dating, Brandon was ready to propose.

The images move from close-up moments between the newly engaged couple to scenes from their tropical escape, gradually revealing more of the trip that ended with a proposal.

After years of friendship, a romance that began in 2025, and an Indonesian proposal, the pictures make one thing especially difficult to miss: these two appear very ready for whatever comes next.

These Former Child Stars Are Almost Unrecognizable Today — Here’s Where They Ended Up — Photos

They were once familiar faces on screens, growing up in front of millions of viewers. Years later, these former young stars have built lives audiences might never have expected.

For some, leaving Hollywood meant more than walking away from acting. They found new careers, built families, and settled into quieter lives – and a few have become almost unrecognizable from the characters audiences remember.

Amanda Bynes

Amanda Bynes followed an unexpected path after stepping away from the screen, pursuing new interests that gradually took her in a different professional direction.

In June 2019, the “She’s the Man” star graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. She documented the milestone herself on X, posting a photo in her cap and gown with the simple message, “FIDM graduate 2019.” Her studies continued after graduation.

In April 2022, Bynes told E! News that she was continuing with a bachelor’s degree at FIDM, majoring in Creative Industry Studies with a focus on Beauty Marketing and Product Development. She also said she planned to travel to New York that June to work on developing a fragrance intended for a holiday launch.

By October 2022, the former Nickelodeon star was learning another skill in the beauty field. Access Hollywood reported that she wrote in her Instagram bio that she was “in cosmetology college to become a manicurist.” She also shared a video from school that showed her training space and three nails painted with black and glittering silver polish.

Danica McKellar

Danica McKellar found an unusually academic path beyond child stardom. According to IMDb, McKellar is best known for playing Winnie Cooper on “The Wonder Years,” which ran from 1988 to 1993.

After growing up on television, however, she pursued an interest far removed from her famous character and graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a degree in mathematics.

Her work in mathematics went beyond earning a degree. McKellar’s official website says she co-authored a mathematical physics theorem that bears her name, the Chayes-McKellar-Winn theorem. Her work was also recognized by Britain’s “Journal of Physics” and The New York Times.

McKellar returned to acting after UCLA, including a role as Elsie Snuffin on “The West Wing,” but she also found a way to turn mathematics into another profession.

She began writing books aimed at making math more approachable for young students, with early titles including “Math Doesn’t Suck,” “Kiss My Math,” “Hot X,” and “Girls Get Curves: Geometry Takes Shape.”

She later expanded her work to younger children. “Goodnight Numbers,” published in 2017, was followed by books including “Ten Magic Butterflies,” “Bathtime Mathtime,” “Do Not Open This Math Book,” “The Times Machine,” and “Double Puppy Trouble.”

According to her website, “Goodnight Numbers” has also been included in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library since 2018.

McKellar’s life away from work has also changed since her “Wonder Years” days. The site lists her as married to Scott Sveslosky since November 2014. She was previously married to Mike Verta from 2009 until their 2013 divorce, and they have one child, Draco McKellar Verta.

Omri Katz

Omri Katz stepped away from acting not long after “Hocus Pocus,” beginning a post-Hollywood life that took several unexpected turns.

According to IMDb, Katz played Max Dennison in the 1993 Disney film alongside Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy, and Thora Birch. His Hollywood career did not last much longer.

Katz said in a 2024 interview with Bootleg Betty that starting young and maintaining a nonstop schedule eventually made him want a break. “I left the industry not too long after ‘Hocus Pocus’ and kind of never really looked back,” he said.

He spent the next five years following the Grateful Dead, then stayed in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, for five snowboarding seasons while surfing during the summers. After running out of money, Katz returned to Los Angeles and acting for what he later called “the wrong reasons.”

The comeback did not stick. Katz said his years away had left him with stage fright, and he realized acting was no longer for him. He waited tables before finding another profession and working as a hairdresser for eight years.

Cannabis eventually became a longer-term pursuit. Katz told Bloody Disgusting in 2022 that he had been involved with it since 2002, initially keeping his activities quiet. “Obviously I had to be discreet, stay under the radar, but I’ve been doing it ever since,” he said.

He later established his own cannabis brand, The Mary Danksters. Katz told the outlet that the business was operating legally, while the brand described itself as “exotic craft cannabis cultivators.”

Danny Pintauro’s life after “Who’s the Boss?” took him far beyond television, through college, restaurant work, and animal care, before another unexpected job put him back in the public eye.

Pintauro told Fox News Digital in May 2026 that starring on the hit sitcom from 1984 to 1992 did not leave him financially set for life. Residuals from television contracts of that era can be much smaller than viewers assume, he explained. For some early episodes, he said he now receives only “five to six cents per episode.”

Much of his earnings from the series went toward a different future.

Pintauro used the money to help pay for Stanford and support himself after the show ended. He also began working outside entertainment, starting with a job at the Gap.

More jobs followed. Pintauro waited tables and moved into management at P.F. Chang’s, then tried to become a theater director in New York. After moving to Austin, he worked at an animal shelter caring for cats while training to become a veterinary technician.

Eventually, the pull of acting returned. Pintauro left the animal shelter and moved to Los Angeles with his husband in 2022 to give the industry another shot. But pursuing acting full-time did not mean acting was paying the bills.

That is where Amazon Flex came in. Pintauro began using his own vehicle to deliver packages, groceries, and same-day orders. In April 2026, a selfie he posted while working as a delivery driver went viral, showing a side of former child stardom that many people may not associate with a successful sitcom.

“For me, as a working actor, I’m not working as an actor,” Pintauro said. The experience also gave him greater respect for people doing whatever work is necessary to support themselves and their families.

His husband, Wil Tabares, has shared much of that post-Hollywood journey with him. In an April Instagram post celebrating their 12th wedding anniversary, Pintauro wrote, “I’m still so thankful for this life with you,” and thanked Tabares for “the love, the memories, the laughter” they had shared.

The actor also makes time for the youth as an acting teacher in drama camps, where he sometimes appeared in drag while interacting with his students.

Mike Vitar

Mike Vitar went from playing a gifted young baseball player on screen to a life far removed from movie sets and Hollywood premieres.

According to IMDb, Vitar played Benjamin “Benny” Franklin Rodriguez in the 1993 film “The Sandlot.” Set during the summer of 1962, the movie follows a new kid who joins Benny and his neighborhood baseball team, leading to a series of adventures.

Years after Vitar left acting, his “The Sandlot” co-star Patrick Renna offered a rare update on the former child star’s life. Renna contrasted the character fans remembered with the work Vitar later chose.

He said, “You know, the man started out as a childhood hero of everyone, and became a real-life hero, like he’s a firefighter. From what I’ve gathered, he’s just a private dude now.”

That career faced a serious interruption following a 2015 Halloween confrontation in Chatsworth. The Los Angeles Times reported that Vitar pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery and received three years’ probation and 90 days of community service. He and fellow Los Angeles firefighter Eric Carpenter were suspended for six months without pay.

The suspension did not end Vitar’s career with the fire department. An LAFD spokesman told the newspaper that both men had returned to full duty.

Jamie Walters

Jamie Walters found fame as an actor and musician in the 1990s, but the demands of Hollywood eventually pushed him toward a career he had long considered from afar.

Walters played aspiring musician Ray Pruit on “Beverly Hills, 90210,” appearing in 40 episodes through 1996. The role followed earlier work in the film “Shout” and the television series “The Heights,” which produced his hit song “How Do You Talk to an Angel.”

His time on “90210” became more complicated when Ray’s relationship with Donna Martin, played by Tori Spelling, turned abusive. Walters recalled receiving hate mail and being confronted by viewers who struggled to separate him from his character.

The reaction contributed to his growing doubts about acting. Walters eventually decided to pursue a very different profession.

In an interview with The U.S. Sun, he said becoming a firefighter had interested him for years, although getting there proved difficult. The application process took about three years and included medical exams, background checks, psychological screening, and physical tests before he received an offer to enter the training academy in 2003.

More than two decades later, Walters was still working as a firefighter-paramedic with the Los Angeles Fire Department. The career change occasionally surprised people who remembered him from television.

“A lot of years have gone by and I don’t think people are expecting when the fire department shows up that the guy in uniform might be somebody from a TV show in the 90s,” he said.

His two careers even crossed paths unexpectedly. Walters recalled responding to a traffic accident when his former “90210” co-star Luke Perry happened to drive past the scene. Perry recognized him in uniform and called out his name, giving the former castmates a brief reunion on the job.

Walters also built a family away from his teen-idol years and described himself as a single father of four. Looking back, he said leaving show business gave him work that both he and his children could take pride in.

“I’m thankful that I was able to switch gears and do something that I’m proud of and that my kids find interesting and cool,” he said.

Despite spending more than 20 years in the fire service, Walters has not completely closed the door on entertainment. He continues to play music and said he would consider acting again after his firefighting career ends.

Michael Schoeffling

Michael Schoeffling became a 1980s heartthrob as Jake Ryan in “Sixteen Candles,” only to choose a remarkably different life once his acting career wound down.

The 1984 coming-of-age comedy starred Schoeffling alongside Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall, and Justin Henry. According to IMDb, the story follows a teenage girl whose 16th birthday is complicated by her sister’s wedding, family problems, and a crush that seems out of reach.

By 1990, Schoeffling already had another profession to fall back on.

He had become a woodworker and furniture maker, running a successful furniture-making business from his home near Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, according to the Los Angeles Times. The craft gave him a level of creative control that he did not have as an actor.

“Actors spend most of their time out of work, so I actually spend more time making furniture,” Schoeffling said. “The thing about furniture that’s much better than acting is that it’s just me.”

At the time, he was living with his wife and two young children and appeared comfortable with the prospect of fewer acting roles. His outlook was simple: “How much money do you need? How many parts do you need?”

That question proved telling. Schoeffling eventually stopped acting and largely disappeared from public view.

According to People, he was living in Newfoundland, Pennsylvania. His wife, Valerie Robinson, offered a rare description of the former actor in an earlier interview with the magazine. “He’s a very different kind of person,” she said, adding that he is “very reclusive and private.”

The distance between childhood fame and adult life can be vast, and success does not always mean staying in the spotlight. For these former stars, moving forward meant defining accomplishment on their own terms — sometimes in places where celebrity mattered very little.

Iowa Teacher and Her 10-Year-Old Student Both Perish on School Field Trip — Authorities Are Investigating What Happened at Lake Macbride

The school outing was meant to give fifth graders a day of discovery beyond their classroom walls, but an emergency near the water left a child missing and revealed the extraordinary lengths one young teacher reportedly took for her student.

Hannah Jorgensen, 24, and 10-year-old Ahmed Osman visited the Macbride Nature Recreation Area in Johnson County, Iowa, with Borlaug Elementary on September 22, 2026. Before the afternoon was over, frantic rescue crews had descended on the area, and the two families awaiting news would be drawn into an ordeal stretching well into the following day.

What Was Supposed to Happen Beside the Lake?

Ahmed was a fifth-grade student at Borlaug Elementary in Iowa City, where Hannah taught the same grade. They had traveled to the recreation area as part of a School of the Wild field trip, an opportunity for children to step beyond their desks and learn in the open air.

The program brought the class to an area associated with Lake Macbride State Park and the Coralville Reservoir. It should have been the sort of school day children carried home as a happy memory, filled with unfamiliar surroundings and the freedom of learning somewhere new.

Instead, sometime around midday, something went gravely wrong near the Coralville Reservoir spillway.

The exact chain of events has not been publicly explained. However, shortly after noon, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office received a report that people were in the water, according to a news report.

Emergency teams rushed toward the reservoir as a peaceful educational outing became an urgent fight to reach two members of the Borlaug school community.

First responders pulled Hannah from the water at 12:43 p.m. Tragically, she did not survive, and authorities confirmed her death at the location. Ahmed was still missing.

Crews searched throughout the remainder of the day, bringing numerous agencies and specialized teams into the operation. But as daylight faded on Tuesday evening, they were forced to suspend their recovery efforts overnight without having found the 10-year-old.

For Ahmed’s family, classmates and teachers, the wait continued through the darkness. The rescuers who had spent hours looking for him knew they would have to return to the water the next morning.

When Did the Search Reach Its Heartbreaking End?

Recovery operations resumed on Wednesday, September 23. First responders searched until 1:24 p.m., when Ahmed was finally recovered from the water, according to the sheriff’s office announcement online.

At that stage, more than a dozen agencies joined forces in a massive coordinated response. Responders included the Johnson County Metro Dive Team, Johnson County Emergency Management, Johnson County Ambulance Service, and various area fire departments.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the Iowa State Patrol, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers supported the mission as well. Officers and specialists from the University of Iowa Police, North Liberty Police, UI Air Care, UI MED ONE, and the medical examiner’s office also took part, teaming up with extra emergency and dispatch crews.

Despite that extensive response, authorities have not disclosed precisely how Hannah and Ahmed entered the water or what occurred in the crucial moments beforehand. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said the incident remained under investigation, with no further information ready for release.

One deeply emotional account nevertheless began circulating among those who knew Hannah. A former teacher said the 24-year-old had tried to save one of her own students.

Authorities have not officially confirmed the circumstances described in that tribute, but the account brought a profoundly personal dimension to a tragedy that had so far been described mainly through emergency calls, recovery times, and official statements.

If accurate, it meant Hannah’s final moments had been spent doing what those closest to her said came naturally: putting a child before herself.

Who Were the Teacher and Child Their School Lost?

For Borlaug Elementary, Hannah and Ahmed were never simply the two victims named in an investigation. One was a beloved young educator building her career, while the other was a fifth grader whose place in the classroom was suddenly and painfully empty.

Officials from the Iowa City Community School District expressed deep heartbreak over the tragic loss. Its tribute described both as cherished members of the Borlaug family whose absence would be felt throughout the school.

“There are simply no words that can adequately express the depth of this loss,” the district wrote. “Hannah and Ahmed were so much more than members of our school community. They were a teacher and student, a colleague and classmate, a friend, and most importantly, deeply loved members of their families.”

The grief extended far beyond one classroom. Ahmed’s friends had lost a classmate, Hannah’s students had lost their teacher, and colleagues who had expected to keep working beside her were instead confronting her death.

Borlaug Elementary brought in counselors and extra support staff to help students and staff. The district promised to surround the school with care while keeping Hannah, Ahmed, and their grieving families “at the center of our hearts.”

Hannah had also formed a lasting connection with Garner Elementary before joining Borlaug. She served there as a paraeducator for several school years and completed both her practicum and student-teaching work at the school.

Garner remembered her as a quiet, devoted educator with a willingness to exceed what was asked of her. Staff members said her calm presence and love for children had made her an exceptional person to work beside.

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds also addressed the loss, saying people across the state were standing with the Borlaug and Iowa City school communities.

“Our hearts are heavy with news of the tragedy at Lake Macbride,” she wrote in her message. “Kevin and I offer our deepest condolences to the families of Hannah Jorgensen and Ahmed Osman and ask that Iowans join us in prayer for their comfort and healing at this difficult time.”

The governor also thanked the law enforcement officers and first responders whose work continued across two grueling days. Their efforts could not restore what had been lost, but they ensured that Ahmed was returned to those who loved him.

What Do Hannah’s Loved Ones Want People to Remember?

As official statements gave way to personal grief, the tributes revealed a young woman remembered for her humility long before she ever entered a classroom as a teacher.

Hannah’s stepmother, Dayna Parker, recalled meeting her when she was about 10, the same age Ahmed was at the time of his death. During an outing to a demolition derby in Tiffin, young Hannah became determined to take a helicopter ride and emerged absolutely delighted, smiling broadly and talking about the experience long afterward.

Dayna remembered her as naturally quiet and so modest that relatives sometimes had to coax a few extra words from her in group conversations. That family memory inspired the six words with which she ended her deeply personal farewell, “I Love You and ALWAYS will.”

She then left others with one simple request: “Be a Hannah.”

Jessie Frerich, one of Hannah’s former teachers, said some students remained unforgettable no matter how many years passed. For her, Hannah was one of them. “She was a real treasure; kind, sweet and loving,” Jessie wrote in her remembrance.

Jessie also addressed the account that Hannah had attempted to rescue a student, describing it as a final act consistent with the person she had always known.

“Hearing that she tried to save one of her own students is heartbreaking beyond words, and yet, knowing Hannah, that kind of selfless love does not surprise me.”

Emily Riggan had watched Hannah grow from an 8-year-old girl into the woman and educator she became. Her tribute also remembered Hannah’s close bond with her sister, Carly, and asked people to keep both victims’ loved ones in their prayers.

Ahmed’s life deserves to be remembered with the same tenderness. He was a child surrounded by relatives, classmates, and friends who expected him to return from a school outing, walk the Borlaug hallways again, and continue growing alongside them.

Investigators must now determine how that ordinary expectation was shattered beside the reservoir. While that work continues, the tributes preserve Hannah and Ahmed as they were before their names appeared in any official report: two deeply loved people whose lives will always mean far more than the tragedy that took them.

Chad Lowe’s Daughter Fiona Appears Happy in Her Last Video — Nothing Seemed to Signal a Problem — Video

When Fiona Lowe added a new Reel to Instagram in August, there was no reason for anyone scrolling past it to stop and study every second. It was simply another post from a 13-year-old girl whose summer was still unfolding.

Weeks later, that small piece of her online life became something very different. But before returning to what Fiona actually shared, the people who knew her outside social media had already left a much fuller picture of her final year.

Her Life Was Bigger Than a Famous Last Name

At school, Fiona had her own circle. She was remembered as “a very well-liked student” who had “a lot of friends”.

People in the community also described her as “sweet, quiet and kind” with “a very artistic soul”. After her death, many of her friends stayed home from school as classmates struggled with the loss.

Those memories showed a side of Fiona that rarely appeared in public photographs. And another part of her life would soon become especially important when people looked back at the final months she left behind.

One passion came up especially often when people spoke about Fiona: dance. It was not something newly attached to her memory after her death; it had already occupied a large part of her young life.

Her teacher, Kendra Andrews, had known that side of Fiona well. And earlier in 2026, she saw the teenager return to the studio after the Lowe family had already endured a major loss.

The Family Had Already Lost Something Huge

The Lowe family’s Pacific Palisades home was destroyed in the Los Angeles fires. Chad later shared photographs of his daughters returning to the property and looking through what remained.

He called their resilience “nothing short of remarkable”. He also wrote that helping his daughters through that period had become his “sole purpose.”

Around 1 month later, Andrews saw Fiona back at dance. She remembered the teenager walking into the studio “excited with a beaming bright smile and a big, warm hug”.

Fiona began rehearsing again. When she returned for another session a few weeks later, Andrews could see how much work she had done on the choreography between lessons.

Fiona eventually performed the routine onstage. Andrews later remembered her student’s “passion and determination”and said she watched the performance with pride.

That was one piece of Fiona’s year. School continued, family life continued, and summer arrived — bringing with it one post that would only stand out much later.

August Left Behind Something Nobody Expected to Revisit

By August, Fiona’s Instagram still looked like the account of a teenager sharing pieces of her life. One new Reel joined the page without a farewell message or any announcement attached to it.

At the time, the upload had no reason to feel final. It was simply the newest thing Fiona had chosen to post.

The weeks that followed changed the way people would later return to that Reel. What had once occupied an ordinary place on her page became one of the final public records of Fiona’s life.

And when the clip is finally opened, its subject connects directly to something her teacher had already been talking about.

Then You Press Play

Fiona’s August Reel shows her dancing. There is no goodbye attached to the clip. The final post on Fiona’s Instagram page captured the activity that had already taken her through rehearsals, practice sessions, and performances.

Only weeks separated that upload from Fiona’s death. The girl Andrews had recently watched working through choreography had left behind one more piece of that passion on her own page.

But the Reel was not the only deeply personal material to emerge afterward. Four days after Fiona’s death, her older sister Mabel reached much further back than August.

Mabel Opened a Different Album

On October 3, 17-year-old Mabel shared childhood photographs and videos of Fiona. Instead of focusing only on the final weeks, the tribute moved through years the sisters had spent growing up together.

Some of the material included moments connected to dance. Then Mabel added a line that brought a very different tone to the collection.

“I wish your short time here was easier, and I hope your mind is at ease now,” Mabel wrote.

She later added another promise to her younger sister: “I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you, I hope you knew just how much.”

Mabel’s photographs showed the Fiona she had known long before headlines entered the family’s life. There were younger faces, sister moments, and pieces of childhood that had never belonged to a public story.

The tribute also showed how much history existed before the final summer. Fiona’s life had included years of family milestones, school friendships, lessons, performances, and ordinary days with her sisters.

Chad Had Spoken About His Daughters Years Earlier

Fiona’s father had also talked publicly about what raising 3 daughters meant to him. During a conversation about fatherhood, Chad called being a “girl dad” an incredible privilege.

He said Mabel, Fiona, and Nixie had pushed him to look at the world from their perspectives. Those comments came before the family had any reason to imagine one of the girls would be gone at 13.

After Fiona died, Chad and Kim described their daughter as smart, creative, loving, and passionate about dance. They called her “the light of our lives.”

Those words sat beside memories from entirely different parts of Fiona’s world: classmates had spoken about her kindness, while Andrews had remembered the student who kept working until her routine was ready for the stage.

Then the Official Answer Came

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed that Fiona died by suicide.

The confirmation came as people around the family were still sharing memories of who Fiona had been in their own lives. School friends, relatives, and her dance teacher were each remembering a different part of the same girl.

Andrews returned to one of those memories in her tribute. She recalled watching Fiona perform with her “heart swelling with pride” and tears of joy in her eyes.

For the teacher, that memory belonged to the work Fiona had put into learning the routine. She had practiced it, improved it, and finally taken it onto a stage.

What Remained After the Headlines

By then, several very different records of Fiona’s life had surfaced. Mabel had shared years of sisterhood, Chad’s earlier words showed how central his daughters were to him, and Fiona’s school community remembered a quiet, artistic girl with friends around her.

Her Instagram left something smaller. One short August Reel captured Fiona inside the passion people closest to her had already been describing.

There was no final speech in that clip and no carefully written closing message. Fiona had simply posted a moment from her life, without knowing how people would one day return to it.

What came afterward filled in pieces the Reel never could. Her teacher remembered the hours she spent practicing, her school community remembered a “sweet, quiet and kind” girl, and Mabel went back through years of childhood photos and videos to remember the sister she had grown up beside.

Those memories stretch far beyond one August post. There were dance rehearsals, performances, family outings, school days, 2 sisters growing up alongside her, and people who knew Fiona long before strangers knew her name from a headline.

Roseanne Barr’s latest family podcast announcement quickly became about more than the emotional reunion with her oldest daughter. As fans celebrated the heartfelt moment, many took a double take upon seeing the comedian’s dramatic silver-haired transformation, sparking a flood of reactions online.

Roseanne Barr has spent decades making headlines for her comedy, television career, and candid personal life. But her latest social media post has people talking for an entirely different reason, as fans could barely recognize the actress after she debuted a striking new look while sharing a deeply personal family moment.

The post wasn’t about fashion or beauty, but a heartfelt podcast conversation with the daughter Roseanne placed for adoption more than 50 years ago. Still, once the photos surfaced, many fans admitted they were immediately struck by her dramatic hair color.

She wrote, “For the first time on the podcast, Roseanne sits down with her oldest daughter, @brandibrown3600, for an honest conversation about the adoption that changed both of their lives.”

“They share the story of their emotional reunion, the years apart, and how faith, family, and forgiveness brought them back together. It’s funny, heartfelt, and one of the most personal conversations Roseanne has ever had.”

The same announcement also appeared on her Facebook page, where followers praised both the emotional subject matter and the touching mother-daughter reunion.

But while many readers focused on the powerful story behind the podcast, others found themselves distracted by something entirely different. Roseanne’s unexpected hairstyle quickly became the conversation.

The Silver Wig That Had Fans Looking Twice

Standing beside Brandi, Roseanne smiled warmly in a vibrant red outfit, paired with a long, wavy silver-gray wig that fell well past her shoulders. The polished hairstyle, combined with bright red lipstick, soft makeup, and statement jewelry, gave the comedian a noticeably different appearance from the one fans had grown accustomed to seeing in recent years.

The photo was taken inside what appeared to be her podcast recording space, surrounded by framed artwork, family photographs, recording equipment, and a partially visible satirical campaign sign referencing her past presidential campaign.

Social Media Could Not Stop Talking About Her New Look

The reactions poured in almost immediately after the images appeared online. One Instagram fan wrote, “Rosie, what’s your secret to aging backwards [sic]😍❤️” One admirer declared, “Roseann looks so good, the best she’s ever looked.”

Not everyone recognized her instantly. One person simply commented, “That’s not her.” Another follower shared, “You look Younger than ever! I still watch Roseanne every single day. Its my comfort show❤️” One more admirer concluded, “She has never looked better.”

The conversation continued on Facebook. One commenter wondered, “Is that her real hair? Bc that’s the prettiest gray hair I’ve ever seen.” Another added, “Roseanne is beautiful. She rocks that silver hair, nicely.”

The Mother-Daughter Story Behind the Podcast

Long before the hairstyle became a topic of discussion, Roseanne and Brandi’s relationship had already become one of the most emotional chapters of the actress’s life. According to Today, Roseanne gave birth to Brandi in 1971 when she was just 18 years old, after staying at the Salvation Army Home for Unwed Mothers in Denver.

Unable to raise her daughter at the time, she placed the baby for adoption. Years later, after Roseanne became one of television’s biggest stars through her hit sitcom, she reunited with Brandi in 1989 after the National Enquirer located her daughter.

Roseanne later recalled telling her newborn before the adoption, “I’ll see you again when you’re 18, because I’m not going to change my name, I’m going to be famous. I’m going to have my own show named ‘Roseanne.'” The prediction ultimately came true.

Their Reunion Became One of the Most Emotional Moments of Her Life

As People reported, Roseanne described their first meeting as almost impossible to explain. She recalled, “I turned around and felt this powerful magnet. We looked at each other, Brandi jumped out of her seat, and we started running toward each other. We embraced and wouldn’t let go of each other, hugging and crying.”

Today, Brandi remains an important part of Roseanne’s life, making the podcast conversation especially meaningful for longtime fans who have followed their story for decades.

Roseanne is also the mother of Jessica, Jennifer, Jake, and Buck from her later marriages, as detailed by Closer Weekly.

A Look Back at Roseanne’s Transformation Through the Years

As conversations about Roseanne’s striking silver-haired appearance continue online, her latest photos also offer another opportunity to see how her public image has evolved across nearly four decades in the spotlight.

Emilio Estevez and the ‘Young Guns’ Cast Reunite 38 Years Later — and Fans Can’t Get Over How They Look — Photos

Emilio Estevez and his Young Guns co-stars have taken fans straight back to the Wild West — nearly four decades after the 1988 film first brought the group together. But when one of the stars shared a new photo, the reunion quickly became about more than nostalgia.

In 1988, Young Guns introduced audiences to a group of young gunmen led by Billy the Kid, who become deputies while seeking revenge for the murder of the rancher who had become their benefactor. The Western, directed by Christopher Cain, eventually became one of the defining ensemble films of its era.

The original cast included Estevez as Billy the Kid, Kiefer Sutherland as Doc Scurlock, Lou Diamond Phillips as Chavez y Chavez, Charlie Sheen as Dick Brewer, Dermot Mulroney as Dirty Steve Stephens, and Casey Siemaszko as Charley Bowdre.

A 1988 promotional portrait captured the six actors in full period Western attire, with Phillips, Siemaszko, and Mulroney standing in the back row while Sutherland, Estevez, and Sheen posed in front. It was a snapshot of six young actors at the beginning of what would become very different careers.

38 Years Later, the Gang Rides Again

Fast-forward 38 years, and Mulroney brought the old crew back into the spotlight.

On September 14, 2026, Mulroney shared a reunion photo on Instagram with the simple caption, “38 years later #youngguns rides again – PALS @akawilliamhbonney #charliesheen @kiefersutherland #caseysiemaszko #loudiamondphillips #terryoquinn @johnfusco @geoffrey_blake”

The post immediately gave fans a chance to see the actors together again, and the reactions made one thing clear: people were very interested in seeing what time had done to the men they remembered as young guns.

Fans Did a Double Take at the Reunion Photo

The comments quickly filled with admiration, with one fan declaring, “Emilio looking younger than all of them!” Another commenter enthusiastically wrote, “The boys! You guys look great!” A third fan appeared to need a second look before recognizing Estevez, saying, “Is that Emilio Estevez? He looks awesome.”

The reaction was especially warm toward Siemaszko, who has maintained a relatively low-key public presence compared with some of his former co-stars. One fan expressed happiness that he had joined the reunion, writing, “I’m so happy Casey joined in, he’s rarely in the public eye anymore which is a shame. ❤️❤️❤️”

Another admirer summed up the whole moment by declaring, “If that isn’t the most epic reunion I don’t know what is!!!!😍” The praise continued, with a fan saying, “Aging like fine wine! Bunch of good looking men there!”

And Estevez, in particular, became a recurring subject of the comments. One fan asked, “Does Emilio Estevez ever age? He has the secret to the fountain of youth.”

That reaction is perhaps unsurprising given just how long Estevez’s career has lasted.

Before Billy the Kid, Estevez Was Already Making His Mark

Estevez was born May 12, 1962, in New York City, as the eldest son of actor Martin Sheen and Janet Sheen. His siblings — Charlie Sheen, Renée Estevez, and Ramon Estevez — also became actors.

His family moved from Manhattan’s Upper West Side to Malibu in 1968, and by the time he graduated from Santa Monica High School in 1980, he had already appeared in Apocalypse Now, although his small role as a messenger boy was ultimately cut.

Unlike his father, who adopted the stage name Sheen, Estevez chose to keep the family’s surname. He has said he wanted to avoid riding his father’s coattails and also liked the look of his initials.

His early film work included Tex in 1982 and The Outsiders in 1983, followed by the cult favorite Repo Man in 1984. He then became part of another iconic ensemble with The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo’s Fire in 1985.

By the time Young Guns arrived in 1988, Estevez had already established himself as one of the young actors to watch. The film only added to that momentum, and he later starred in and directed projects including Men at Work, before taking on the hugely popular role of Coach Gordon Bombay in The Mighty Ducks in 1992.

His career also increasingly moved behind the camera. He wrote, directed, and starred in films including Wisdom, The War at Home, Rated X, Bobby, The Way, and The Public, while continuing to act.

In 2021, Estevez returned to his beloved Mighty Ducks character Gordon Bombay for Disney+’s The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers. And now, decades after first saddling up as Billy the Kid, he has once again found himself surrounded by the men who helped make Young Guns memorable.

Sutherland Traded the Old West for Music – And Rodeo

Sutherland’s career also took some unexpected turns after he played Doc Scurlock. In addition to becoming widely known for playing Jack Bauer on 24, he developed a serious connection to rodeo and eventually music.

In a 2006 interview, Sutherland recalled how he learned horseback riding for The Cowboy Way in 1994. He later took time away from filmmaking in 1998 and ended up winning the national team roping competition twice.

“Those two years on the ranch were my college years,” Sutherland recalled. “Three or four guys riding around in a truck from rodeo to rodeo. It was fantastic.” Sutherland’s more recent creative life has also included music. His official band page introduces the musicians he performs with, including Jess on drums, Joe on bass, Doug on guitar, and Austin on guitar.

In a May 2026 Instagram post, Sutherland shared photographs from a performance and wrote, “A couple of shots from last night. I thought the lighting was amazing. 📸 Gary Walker – @thisisgary.photography.”

So while fans may still picture Sutherland as Doc Scurlock riding across the screen, his life after Young Guns has taken him well beyond the saddle and into another kind of spotlight.

Phillips Still Has Fans Talking About His Look

Phillips, who played Chavez y Chavez, had already become recognizable to audiences before Young Guns arrived. His breakthrough came as Ritchie Valens in La Bamba, and his performance in Stand and Deliver earned him a Golden Globe nomination and an Independent Spirit Award.

He later made his Broadway debut in the 1996 revival of The King and I, earning a Tony Award nomination for his portrayal of King Mongkut of Siam. His other notable credits include Young Guns II: Blaze of Glory, Courage Under Fire, The Big Hit, Brokedown Palace, Che: Part Two, The 33, Longmire, Numb3rs, and Prodigal Son.

Phillips’s personal life also made headlines after his Young Guns days. In a 1994 interview with The Advocate, Julie Cypher discussed her relationship with Melissa Etheridge and reflected on her previous marriage to Phillips.

When asked about her past, Cypher said, “Well, I’d rather hear this story directly from you, Julie.” She then explained, “Well, I was straight. I was married to Lou Diamond Phillips. I’m originally from Texas, and he and I met there.”

“I’d known lesbians as friends in college, but I’d never met a woman that I was attracted to, so lesbianism had never occurred to me–until I met Melissa. Then it occurred very strongly.”

When asked whether she was working on Etheridge’s video when they met, Cypher recalled, “I was working as an assistant director on her video “Bring Me Some Water.”

“There was a very long two-year crazy period where we were both circling in our own relationships, trying to figure out what we were going to do. Then we came together.”

Phillips has also had difficult moments in the years since the original film. In 2018, the Caller-Times reported that he received two years of probation after pleading guilty following a 2017 arrest in Portland, Texas, on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. But the response to the reunion was decidedly lighter, with fans focusing on the actor’s appearance rather than his past headlines.

In separate reactions to Phillips’s profile picture change, one admirer declared, “Perfect hair 👌” while another wrote, “Too handsome 😍”

Phillips’s presence in the reunion makes the throwback feel especially complete, bringing back another instantly recognizable face from the original group.

Mulroney Found a New Stage of His Own

Mulroney, who played Dirty Steve Stephens, has also added a surprising new dimension to his career: country music. On August 27, he posted about a performance at the Grand Ole Opry, calling it an “Extraordinary night of my musical life!”

He thanked his fellow performers and Nashville for the warm welcome while directing followers toward JackRabbit’s show dates and merchandise.

Away from the spotlight, Mulroney is also a father of three and lives in Los Angeles with his family, according to NBC. The actor’s move into music gives his Young Guns journey another unexpected chapter. The actor who once rode into the story as Dirty Steve now has another stage — and another audience.

Sheen’s Life After Dick Brewer Has Been Anything but Quiet

Sheen, who played Dick Brewer, has arguably had the most publicly turbulent path of the group. A recent Independent profile described the actor’s long history with substance abuse and his very public career troubles, including his 2011 departure from Two and a Half Men.

The same profile noted that Sheen has remained largely out of the public eye since getting sober and has since written his memoir, The Book of Sheen, and appeared in the two-part documentary, aka Charlie Sheen.

His connection to the Young Guns reunion is also personal: Sheen is Estevez’s younger brother. Their father, Martin Sheen, chose the surname Sheen professionally, while Estevez retained the family name.

That makes the new reunion photo more than a simple cast callback. It brings together actors whose lives and careers have taken dramatically different routes since they first appeared as young men in the same Western.

Siemaszko’s Appearance Made the Reunion Even More Special

For longtime fans, Siemaszko’s presence may have been one of the biggest surprises. The actor, who played Charley Bowdre, became known for a string of 1980s films, including Class, Silence of the Heart, Secret Admirer, Back to the Future, Stand by Me, Biloxi Blues, and Young Guns.

He continued working in the decades that followed, appearing in more than 60 film and television productions, including Of Mice and Men, Public Enemies, and Killing Kennedy. But unlike several of his Young Guns co-stars, Siemaszko has largely kept a low profile and rarely makes public appearances.

That helps explain why one fan specifically celebrated seeing him back with the group. The reunion therefore offered something that fans do not often get: a rare glimpse of six actors who once represented a single cinematic generation, together again decades later.

Could the ‘Young Guns’ Ride Again?

The enthusiasm did not stop at reminiscing. One fan took the reunion as a possible sign that something bigger could be happening, writing, “They need to make a movie!!!! I’m not sure if that’s what this post is for or if it was just a reunion. Young Guns needs to ride again!!!!”

There is no indication in the supplied sources that the reunion post announces a new Young Guns movie. Mulroney’s caption simply says, “38 years later #youngguns rides again” and refers to his former co-stars as “PALS.” Still, the reaction shows just how much affection remains for the original film.

He Played a Beloved TV Character, Has 5 Daughters, and at 77 Is Refusing to Slow Down — His Latest Birthday Post Says It All — Photos

A beloved Happy Days actor turned his fame into a career as a director, entrepreneur, and father of five. Now 77, his latest birthday post delivers a defiant message about aging, staying active, and refusing to become invisible.

Born in Los Angeles, California, on September 25, 1949, the actor grew up to become part of a television cast that defined an era. He became one of the stars of ABC’s Happy Days, the sitcom that ran from 1974 to 1984 and presented an idealized version of life in the 1950s and 1960s.

The TV Role That Made Him Famous

He played one of Richie Cunningham’s best friends, appearing alongside Ron Howard as Richie, Donny Most as Ralph Malph, Henry Winkler as Arthur “The Fonz” Fonzarelli, Tom Bosley as Howard “Mr. C” Cunningham, and Marion Ross as Marion “Mrs. C” Cunningham. The role was Potsie Weber, and it turned the actor into a household name.

He did not, however, land the part without a struggle. He told Smashing Interviews Magazine that his agent sent him to audition at the last minute and he initially got the role, but the pilot did not sell. A second pilot was made a year later after American Graffiti became a hit, and the actor had to screen-test again with a group of other actors.

“Then I had a screen test with a bunch of people, and it took a month of not knowing to finally get the part again. Hundreds of people tried out for the role of Potsie.”

That uncertainty eventually led to one of the most recognizable sitcom careers of the era.

He Knew Early That Acting Would Not Be His Whole Life

The success of Happy Days could easily have convinced the beloved actor to remain in front of the camera indefinitely. Instead, he had already started looking beyond acting.

“Early on in acting, I knew I wouldn’t be doing it as a career my whole life. I first started creating and writing shows and selling them as a producer. Then it was Ron Howard who said, ‘You really should direct.’ I ended up attaching myself to shows that I had created because no one would give me a break as a director.”

The actor was Anson Williams. And Howard’s suggestion ultimately opened another major chapter in his career. Williams began directing in 1985 and went on to direct episodes of Diagnosis Murder, Xena: Warrior Princess, Melrose Place, Beverly Hills, 90210, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, 7th Heaven, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Charmed, and Lizzie McGuire.

His other directing credits included the 1990 television movie Quiet Little Neighborhood, a Perfect Little Murder, starring Teri Garr and Robert Urich, the 1991 direct-to-video thriller All-American Murder, starring Christopher Walken and Charlie Schlatter, and episodes of New York Undercover, The Pretender and The Love Boat: The Next Wave.

He also had feature films in development and said he had done a project for Chris Walken for HBO. Still, television remained overwhelmingly his territory. “I’ve had feature films in development. I did something for Chris Walken for HBO. But it has been 99.9% television.”

He Never Let Potsie Define Him

Interestingly, Williams said he did not worry much about being typecast after Happy Days. His reason was simple: he had already begun thinking beyond acting. “No, because I didn’t care. I own two national product companies, so I’ve always been an entrepreneur and a realist. I didn’t care about typecasting and didn’t care about acting after Happy Days.”

Instead, Williams said he wanted to work satisfyingly and use the opportunities he had been given to pursue other ventures. “I cared about working in a satisfying way and using what I had for positive things in future adventures and challenges for future profits, so I was able to use that and develop a lot more than acting.”

That same willingness to move on appeared in another part of his career: music. Williams said he pursued singing for more than a decade, co-headlining in Las Vegas and Reno before deciding that chapter had reached its limit. “I saw limitations, and I changed course.” That phrase could almost serve as a summary of his entire career.

His Fame Was Huge — But He Says It Never Went to His Head

The success of Happy Days was enormous. Williams recalled that the cast had millions of people watching every week and compared their level of fame to The Beatles.

Yet he insisted that the success did not create massive egos among the cast. “We had millions of people watching us every week, and we were The Beatles for years, but it never went to our heads. We all used it constructively.”

He said the cast remained involved in the entertainment business and also contributed to charities and society. Williams credited Garry Marshall, the creator and boss of Happy Days, with inspiring that approach.

His relationship with the cast also remained strong years after the series ended. Asked whether he was still in contact with his former co-stars, Williams responded, “Oh my gosh, yes. Everybody is very close.”

His connection with Howard went beyond simply sharing the Happy Days set. Williams recalled working with Howard years earlier and noted that Howard executive produced the first television film Williams created, Skyward, which aired in 1980 and starred Bette Davis and Marion Ross.

He described Howard as “one of those major artists in film” and said they had worked together on numerous projects in the past.

Henry Winkler Was Nothing Like The Fonz

Williams was particularly complimentary when asked about Henry Winkler. “Henry is the kindest, most decent person on earth. He’s so not the Fonz. He’s an intelligent, wonderful actor with an amazing heart and social conscience.”

Williams said the Happy Days cast could easily have developed large egos given how many people watched them. Instead, he said, they tried to use their success constructively. The same affection extended to Tom Bosley, who played Howard Cunningham.

When interviewer Melissa Parker mentioned Bosley’s death, Williams remembered him as a genuine father figure. “He didn’t want any of us young guys taken advantage of. Tom was much more than a talented actor; he was a very kind and giving friend.” Williams even remembered Bosley helping him negotiate his first mortgage.

He Also Had a Surprising Singing and Commercial Chapter

Long before his directing and business ventures fully developed, Williams spent years performing as a singer. But one of his earliest entertainment opportunities came from a commercial. When Parker mentioned seeing an old McDonald’s commercial featuring a young Williams and a young John Amos on YouTube, Williams called it one of his greatest breaks.

“That was one of the greatest breaks ever! It was the first time I was able to get some money.” During the interview, he explained that the commercial eventually became iconic enough that the company would call, renegotiate, and put it back on the air.

There was also the question of another Happy Days reunion. The cast had reunited in 2005, but Williams did not expect another one. “No. I don’t think there’ll be another one. It was fun, though.”

Then He Took His Career in a Completely Different Direction

Williams eventually became an entrepreneur, founding two product companies: StarMaker Products and Physicians Prefer. His business interests were not simply an extension of celebrity branding. As the father of five daughters, he became particularly interested in women’s health and helped put those issues at the center of Physicians Prefer’s agenda.

One of the company’s products was Cool Flash for the Hot Flash, which Williams described as an alternative approach to hot flashes associated with menopause and chemotherapy.

The story behind the product began while he was directing Melrose Place in 2000. The cast members had been raving about skin-care products in the makeup trailer, which led Williams to meet JoAnna Connell.

Connell had created skin-care products for actors before they went on camera and had also created skin care for Baywatch. Williams and his partners turned that connection into StarMaker Products, which eventually became a nationwide company. “We’ve been on QVC for 8 years,” Williams said.

His interest in alternative healing also had a family connection. He explained that his uncle — technically his cousin, whom he called his uncle — was Dr. Henry Heimlich, known for the Heimlich Maneuver.

Heimlich’s wife, Jane Heimlich, wrote What Your Doctor Won’t Tell You, and Williams said that background contributed to his longstanding interest in alternative medicine.

His Passion for Women’s Health Had a Personal Side

Williams and his business partner eventually connected with doctors who were concerned about hormonal treatments and wanted to develop alternative products that were clinically proven.

They used profits from StarMaker to fund the work. The first product was Cool Flash for the Hot Flash, which Williams described as a drug-free, hormone-free, and estrogen-free topical gel. He explained that users applied it to two areas of the body when a hot flash began — the back of the neck and the bottom of the neck in front.

Williams said the product had become a phenomenon and was available through Costco and drugstore.com. He also highlighted its use among chemotherapy patients because hot flashes can be a side effect of treatment.

“Women can basically use these liquid ice cubes instead of going through hormone treatments that cause cancer. It costs less than $10 and lasts about a month.” He said thousands of chemotherapy patients were using the product. “That just blows me away, and it is one of the main reasons I’m so passionate about Cool Flash.”

He Has Five Daughters — And Kept Them Out of Hollywood

While Williams was juggling directing and his companies, he was also raising five daughters. At the time of the interview, he described having two 8-year-olds, a 3-year-old, a 12-year-old, and a 21-year-old.

And despite their father’s long Hollywood career, he said none appeared particularly interested in show business. “I would say no. They’re all unique, but I don’t think anyone has a passion for show business, and I don’t push it on them. I don’t think they’ve seen a whole episode of Happy Days.”

For Williams, being a father meant putting the children first. “I’m daddy, and when I’m with them, I’m with them. It’s their time, and it’s not my time.” He described show business as a very difficult road for young people. “Writing may be a little easier, but being an actor is a very difficult road.”

Williams was especially critical of the risks surrounding child actors, pointing to what he called numerous sad stories involving young performers and questionable parenting. He considered Ron Howard an exception because, in his view, Howard’s parents provided him with a balanced upbringing.

“Most child actors have a terrible time because there is questionable parenting. Ron Howard is healthy because his parents were amazing, and it was a balanced life. Numerous times it is not that way. The highs are too high, and the lows are too low. I don’t recommend it.”

He Had Strong Opinions About What Television Should Be Doing

Williams’ years on Happy Days also shaped his thoughts about television’s role in society. When asked about The Secret Life of the American Teenager, which he was directing at the time, he said he had joined the show during its first six episodes.

He directed almost half the episodes, while Keith Truesdell directed the others. Williams praised the ensemble for being experienced and prepared, saying that the production’s discipline helped save time and keep working hours reasonable.

He also defended the show’s controversial pregnancy storylines. Although he described himself as “just a hired director,” Williams said the studio and producers received positive mail about the storylines. He believed the show encouraged parents and children to discuss difficult subjects rather than portraying teenage parenthood as glamorous.

When asked whether the storylines were educational, Williams replied: “Very educational. Parents’ groups love the show. Any parent who has intelligence will say, ‘Wow! This is helping to prevent it!’ The show deals with teenage issues very honestly. It says, ‘This is not cool because look what your responsibilities are going to be.'”

He also pushed back on the idea that the show sent the wrong message to young viewers, saying its storylines were meant to encourage thoughtful conversations, better communication, and responsible choices.

His Views on Television Had Changed Since Happy Days

Williams acknowledged that Happy Days belonged to a very different era of television. While some subjects were rarely discussed openly at the time, he remembered that the sitcom still had episodes that pushed boundaries for its audience.

He also pointed to All in the Family and Maude as examples of earlier shows that tackled difficult social subjects and helped bring topics that were rarely discussed into mainstream television.

Williams recalled that Happy Days also addressed racial issues during its first season, including a storyline involving neighbors who wanted to marry at the Cunningham family home.

Television itself had changed dramatically since Williams’ Happy Days days. When he was on the sitcom, viewers had only a few major networks to choose from, whereas the television landscape had expanded enormously by the time of his interview.

Williams believed that the growth of media had also changed the culture surrounding fame. He felt that the constant pursuit of attention had contributed to a society increasingly focused on brief moments of publicity rather than lasting accomplishments.

He was also critical of the modern celebrity-news cycle, particularly the way photographers and media outlets could contribute to manufactured attention. In his view, sensational material often attracted more interest because audiences continued to consume it.

All of those ideas — staying active, changing direction, refusing to be defined by age and continuing to pursue new challenges — make his latest birthday message particularly fitting.

And Then Came the Birthday Post

At 77, Williams took to Instagram with a message aimed directly at fellow Baby Boomers. “My yearly reminder to every Boomer: NEVER let anyone diminish us because of our age. I’m 77. More creative, healthier, busier, more curious — and more alive than I was at 40.”

He credited a combination of love, kindness, adventure, and discipline for the way he feels today. “Why? A partner who sees the best in me. Good lovin’. Kindness. Adventure. A little discipline — eat right, move, take care of yourself. Mountains still worth climbing.”

Then he made the central point of the post unmistakable. “And the absolute refusal to let anyone else decide my worth.” Williams finished with a declaration that sounds remarkably consistent with the career choices he has made since Happy Days. “We didn’t come this far to become invisible.”

“We came this far to become unstoppable. We’re not winding down. We’re still winning — and we haven’t even played our best hand yet.” After a career that moved from Happy Days fame to directing, singing, entrepreneurship, women’s health advocacy and fatherhood, Williams is still talking about mountains worth climbing.

And perhaps the most revealing part of his birthday message is that he does not sound like someone looking back at what he has already accomplished. He sounds like someone who believes his best hand may still be waiting to be played.

Ricky Schroder Posted a Tribute to Dolly Parton — His Words Drew Strong Reactions

Dolly Parton’s death has brought an extraordinary wave of affection from the people who knew her, worked with her and grew up loving her. But one celebrity tribute took an unexpected turn — and the reaction was almost immediate.

People confirmed that Parton passed away on Tuesday, August 25, surrounded by loved ones. Representatives said she spent her career “bringing joy, laughter, hope and integrity into everything she touched.”

Her team pointed to her Imagination Library, which has sent free books to children for three decades, and to her role in funding research that helped speed up the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Both accomplishments would come up again and again in the tributes that followed.

Among those remembering her was actor Ricky Schroder, who had a particularly personal connection to the country music legend.

A Hollywood Connection That Went Back Years

Schroder and Parton worked together on the 2015 television movie Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors, in which he played her father.

The film was based on Parton’s childhood and her upbringing in rural Tennessee, bringing the two stars together for a story that was deeply connected to her own life. IMDb describes the movie as a warm adaptation of the singer’s remarkable upbringing.

That history made Schroder’s tribute especially notable. On August 26, he turned to Instagram to remember Parton, sharing a message that began as a reflection on the opportunity she had given him.

Schroder wrote, “I didn’t agree with her advocating for Transgender & Covid Vaccine support…but Loved her anyway. Thank you for choosing me, Dolly, to be your Movie Daddy.” The wording quickly became the focus of the post.

The Tribute Had a Message of Its Own

His words and entire message drew strong reactions from people who felt a memorial message was not the place to emphasize political or cultural disagreements with someone who had just died.

One commenter criticized the wording and said, “‘I loved her anyway’ what a strange tribute. Good Lord.” Another commenter reacted even more bluntly, saying, “Wow… you should have said nothing.”

A third person questioned why Schroder had chosen to make the disagreement part of his remembrance, writing, “Imagine being the first (and probably only) person in the whole world to post something negative about Dolly. NOT COOL.”

The reactions were not entirely negative toward Schroder, however. One commenter defended the idea that Parton could have friends who disagreed with her, saying, “Loved that movie, Ricky! She would be ok with you having different views than her. RIP Beautiful Dolly!”

Another person similarly pushed back against the criticism and wrote, “I think she was all about including everyone! She was not one to judge! She will be greatly missed!”

Still, several commenters remained uncomfortable with the decision to include the political references. One person told Schroder, “Honestly dude, please just sit down and be quiet. Honor her or don’t. This is weird.” Another commenter simply said, “No need to even post that..”

A further reaction called the tribute “Tone deaf” and added, “Dolly advocated for love and not judging anyone.” One commenter also connected the controversy directly to Parton’s message of acceptance, writing, “Wow, how disappointing. Dolly is in a better place where love is love. When we all get and understand that message, the world will be a better place.”

Why the LGBTQ+ Reference Hit Differently

The response to Schroder’s post was particularly striking because Parton had spent decades publicly speaking about acceptance and embracing people who were different from her.

In a 1984 conversation with Interview magazine, Parton addressed her large gay following directly. She said, “I got a huge gay following and some really macho-looking women,” before explaining her philosophy:

“To me, people are people. … Many of my friends are gay, male and female. I don’t judge people. I don’t care what people do in their bedrooms, and people shouldn’t care what I do in mine.”

Her relationship with LGBTQ+ fans was not limited to a single interview.

Parton recorded the queer-affirming song “Family” for her 1991 album Eagle When She Flies, adding a musical expression of acceptance to a career in which she repeatedly emphasized the importance of treating people with humanity.

That history helps explain why some commenters saw Schroder’s wording as particularly jarring.

Another Tribute Highlighted a Very Different Side of Dolly

Brandi Carlile offered another perspective on Parton’s legacy in her own tribute. Carlile wrote that Parton “had a way of deeply belonging to every one of us, and yet somehow still not being of this world.” She added, “I loved Dolly with all my heart.”

Carlile also recalled that she had loved Parton even before meeting her because the “Coat of Many Colors” singer had accepted her. She wrote, “Before I met her, I loved her because she took a risk and accepted me (and all of us) for being gay in a time where she didn’t need to say anything.”

According to Carlile, Parton consistently chose to focus on compassion rather than getting drawn into every controversy surrounding her.

She wrote that Parton had been asked to comment on “MANY things” over the years, but chose to speak about matters that brought “love and mercy to real people.” Carlile also remembered Parton as “obscenely generous, whip smart” and described her as “a bona fide rockstar, a preacher and the quickest comedian I ever took a shot from.”

Schroder’s tribute may have sparked the sharpest debate, but it was only one small part of the enormous outpouring that followed Parton’s death. Across Hollywood, country music, politics, and beyond, celebrities were also choosing their own ways to say goodbye — and some tributes stood out for very different reasons.

As we previously reported, in the hours that followed, condolences poured in from politicians, pop stars, and fellow country legends, each trying to capture what Parton meant to them.

Yet among thousands of posts, two specific celebrity messages grabbed everyone’s attention for entirely different reasons. One was hailed as the ultimate farewell, while the other left fans utterly speechless and deeply offended.

World Leaders Send Their Condolences

Former President Barack Obama shared a tribute on Instagram, noting that Parton was born in a one-room cabin, earned 11 Grammys and an Emmy, and helped millions of kids learn to read, and helped speed along the vaccine research. He added that Michelle and he were thinking of her family and her many fans.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris commended her legacy, calling the East Tennessee native a true American icon. She traced her path from a “little girl from up in East Tennessee” to global superstar.

Harris singled out the more than 300 million books distributed through the Imagination Library as her favorite of Parton’s accomplishments, alongside her 11 Grammys, an Emmy, and an honorary Oscar.

Former President George W. Bush, in a joint statement with his wife, Laura, said they mourned alongside thousands of fans. He praised Parton’s music and personal style, and specifically thanked her for her work promoting literacy, advancing health, and strengthening communities, calling her “a talented and hardworking American who will be missed.”

Country Music Mourns One of Its Own

Reba McEntire wrote that she had just learned her “buddy” had passed “onto the higher and greater side,” recalling their first meeting and their final conversation.

She thanked Parton for everything she gave from her “huge huge heart,” adding that she believed Parton was now in heaven singing with family and friends who had gone before her.

Tim McGraw described Parton as the blueprint for every entertainer who came after her, “head and shoulders above anyone that came before her.” He said everything she did, she did with kindness, grace, and her famous wit and smile, and admitted it had been hard to stay out of tears all day.

Trisha Yearwood said there weren’t words to describe what Parton meant to the world. She told fans their job now was to keep Parton’s light alive by living out “WWDD” — What Would Dolly Do — adding that Parton “walked the walk” and would be missed more than words could say.

Wynona Judd called Parton family, recalling that Parton showed up for her personally after the death of Judd’s mother. She wrote that Parton’s mark on music and culture was greater than anyone could hope to leave behind, signing off “from one mountain woman to another.”

Blake Shelton said the loss felt personal after spending real time with Parton while working alongside her and Gwen Stefani on “The Voice.” He described her as exactly the person fans hoped she was — “the funnest, most loving, most caring and closest member of your family.”

Kimberly Williams Paisley recalled first meeting Parton when she recorded “When I Get Where I’m Going” with Williams Paisley’s husband, Brad Paisley, saying Parton’s voice “pierced my soul.”

She also described filming a windy, rain-soaked scene for Netflix’s “Heartstrings” series, joking that when Parton arrived, the storm seemed to stop around her, and not one hair moved out of place.

Billy Ray Cyrus remembered apologizing to Parton in 1992 over false tabloid rumors linking the two of them romantically, only for her to wink and tell him, “Honey, this trash sells records!” He added that Parton had recently sent him a message telling him she loved him with her whole heart, and that he would always love her the same way.

Marie Osmond called Parton a trailblazer and a beautiful soul who touched generations with her music, kindness, and spirit. She shared a photo of herself with Parton and Betty White, taken with Paul Mitchell cofounders, calling the two women “national treasures” and asking Parton to give White a hug on her behalf.

Hollywood Pays Its Respects

Jamie Lee Curtis said the saying “don’t meet your heroes” didn’t apply to Parton. She pointed to Parton’s decision to write “I Will Always Love You” as an example of her bravery — a way of thanking and loving someone while still choosing to move on to new work and new possibilities.

Anne Hathaway wrote that heaven had gotten one of its own back. She said Parton left behind so many melodies, lyrics, stories, jokes, and performances that it was now up to everyone else to follow in her “brilliant, adorable, one-of-a-kind, bedazzled footsteps.”

Katy Perry remembered Parton as someone who defied stereotypes for decades, proving that a big voice and a big heart could exist in one small package.

She recalled once dreaming of having Parton join her for a Super Bowl performance, popping out of a giant rhinestone cowboy boot, and said that when Parton couldn’t do it, she sent Perry’s team a handwritten note by fax back in 2015.

Vera Wang called Parton “a modern and independent woman way ahead of her time,” describing her as beautiful, gifted, honest, and a joyful, consummate performer.

Goldie Hawn shared a memory from the day she first met Parton, saying she was already “lit up like an angel” back then. She asked Parton to rest and, in her own words, “keep the angels creating music and singing in the heavens.”

Oprah recalled wearing Bob Mackie gowns together while appearing on Parton’s talk show, “Dolly,” calling it one of her fondest memories.

She said a girl from the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee had dreamed a life and then lived one bigger than she could have imagined, giving generously in ways people saw and in ways they never did.

Priscilla Presley shared a more personal memory, recalling that after she and Elvis left the courthouse following their divorce, he sang “I Will Always Love You” to her as they walked down the steps together.

She said she later shared that memory with Parton herself, and that it was Parton’s warmth, humor, and enormous heart — not just her music — that made her one of a kind.

Jane Fonda posted an extended tribute describing Parton as more present, powerful, generous, and playful than anyone she had ever known, woven permanently into the memories of “9 to 5,” Dollywood, and the millions of books she put into children’s hands.

Fonda called her simultaneously “a naughty, playful southern gal from the hollows of Tennessee” and a deep, soulful thinker who could see straight through people to their true selves, someone who always seemed to know just what to do and say to make things right — and then, in Fonda’s words, “stick her butt out the car window and moon Kenny Rogers’ home.”

Fonda also had a message for Parton’s gay and trans fans, telling them Parton loved them, and urged everyone to celebrate her spirit rather than mourn, pointing fans toward the final episode of “Grace and Frankie,” in which Parton played a working-class angel in heaven.

Kelly Osbourne thanked Parton for paving the way, not just for women in music but for women everywhere to be unapologetically themselves. She said Parton proved it was possible to be ambitious and kind, strong and soft, fearless and authentic all at once, and called working with her one of the greatest honors of her life.

Lauren Sanchez wrote that Parton gave meaning to her Courage and Civility award, rather than the other way around. She recalled Parton saying she always tried to put her money where her heart was — with kids — and pointed to three decades of free books mailed to children who had none, a cause Parton pursued because her own father never learned to read.

Ivanka Trump cited a piece of advice from Parton that she had referenced years earlier on a podcast: “I don’t criticize and condemn; I love and accept.” She called the quote, like much of what made Parton an icon, deceptively simple on its face but profound underneath.

Candace Cameron Bure kept her message brief, thanking Parton for a lifetime of music and magic and wishing her reunited with the love of her life.

The Tribute Fans Called the Most Beautiful

Of all the messages posted, one from Carrie Underwood stood out to fans as the most moving. Underwood wrote, “She’s not gone. I know exactly where she is. She was the epitome of faith, grace, talent, beauty and humor. She had a humble heart for Jesus and made everyone around her feel special.”

She continued, “She was probably the one person on planet Earth that everyone loved and could agree on. She was a one of one and no one will ever come close. It’s alright to be sad that this world lost a legend, but heaven gained an angel. Well done, good and faithful Dolly. Welcome home.”

The response in the comments was overwhelming. One fan wrote, “I’ve never heard anything better. Perfectly said. I’m still crying btw.” Others agreed, with comments like, “Totally agree. I don’t think anyone could have said it better. It is how we all feel,” “So am I,” and “Me too. Dolly was a legend.”

Another commenter called it, “The most beautiful tribute. Heaven keeps getting sweeter,” while another added, “This is probably the best tribute to Dolly. A believer in the Lord Jesus. She is home in His arms.”

One fan even tied the message to Parton’s own music, writing, “The best tribute ❤️. Gonna go play ‘When I Get to Where I’m Going.’ She got there….❤️.” Another described it as “the most perfect caption that captures her.”

The Message That Left Fans Wanting More

Not every tribute landed the same way. Barbra Streisand’s post, by comparison, was brief. She wrote, “So sorry to hear about Dolly – she was a true force of nature. May she rest in peace 😢. Barbra.”

Some fans felt the shortness didn’t match the moment. “Barb. Maybe you could have written a little bit more. Disappointed,” one commenter wrote.

Another user pushed back on that criticism directly: “Why? They were peers but not close friends – Barbra is always real and authentic. She didn’t know Dolly well enough or collaborate with her to write something more personal. People really need to get lives – I swear 🙄.”

A third commenter simply responded, “I’m Speechless.”

Whether fans saw it as fitting restraint or a missed opportunity, the contrast between the two posts became its own small story within the bigger one — a reminder that even in shared grief, not everyone chooses to say goodbye the same way.

Meanwhile, fans everywhere continue to honor Dolly Parton’s extraordinary life, unforgettable music, and endless generosity.

Miley Cyrus Makes a Surprising Move After Her Godmother Dolly Parton’s Passing – Details & What the Public Is Saying About It Online

Sometimes, the smallest details say the most. As the artist begins navigating life without one of her greatest influences, a subtle choice has sparked interest in where she may be heading next.

Miley Cyrus has spent the days following an unimaginable loss honoring the woman she lovingly called “Aunt Dolly.” But amid the grief, the singer appears to have quietly begun turning the page toward something new, and fans are paying very close attention.

The shift comes less than a week after Miley lost her beloved godmother, Dolly Parton, whose influence stretched far beyond their famous musical collaborations.

Miley has long credited Dolly Parton as both her godmother and a guiding force in her life and career. Their bond extended beyond music, with Miley later saying some of their most meaningful moments would remain private. | Source: Getty Images

The legendary country music icon died at 80 on August 25, 2026. Her nephew Bryan Seaver announced her passing in an emotional Instagram video made on behalf of the Parton and Owens family.

“This video announcement is something Dolly asked of me years ago, before I fully absorbed it as a future reality,” Bryan continued. “As her head of security for more than two decades, a role my father Larry held before me, I have imagined the heaviness of this moment but haven’t truly felt it until now.”

Calling the responsibility an honor mixed with “absolute pride and great sadness,” Bryan said the sadness belonged to those Dolly left behind. “Dolly has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus, surely met by Carl, her parents and countless others who have watched her and longed to meet her in the heavens,” he said.

He also reflected on how Dolly transformed not only her family’s lives, but those of generations of artists and dreamers. “Dolly opened doors not just for me but for her entire family to reach the potential we didn’t even know was possible,” Bryan shared.

“Dolly also opened doors for generations of singers, songwriters, musicians and dreamers from every walk of life and across every continent,” he added. “By her example, we believed that anything is possible.”

Perhaps one of the most poignant details came when Bryan revealed what Dolly had told him about her final resting place. “Dolly called me and said she wants to rest in a beautiful bed of plush cotton because after a life of wearing heavy rhinestones, she finally deserves to be comfortable and have some rest.”

He closed the announcement with a final message to his aunt: “Rest in peace, Aunt Dolly — Aunt, Granny, Gigi. May God bless Dolly Parton, and may God bless you all. She will always love you.” For Miley, however, Dolly’s passing is not simply the loss of a universally beloved entertainer; it is the loss of someone woven deeply into her own life.

Miley Shared an Emotional Tribute to Her ‘Aunt Dolly’

Following Dolly’s passing, Miley shared a deeply personal tribute alongside a black-and-white image of her godmother. “The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share,” Miley wrote. “Our most sacred moments were private and they’ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts.”

Rather than reveal those private memories, Miley offered a glimpse into what Dolly might have wanted for her in the aftermath. “What I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong,” she continued. “I have an angel by my side. I always have.”

Miley then revealed that one of their final conversations had centered on “music and metamorphosis.” That choice of word now feels particularly striking. “I will always love her and want to make her proud,” Miley wrote. “My heart breaks for the world, her family and friends who will miss her deeply.”

“We’re in this loss together and we will see her in all of the most beautiful things. 💖 @dollyparton.” It was an intensely personal goodbye, but Miley’s message also carried something else: a determination to keep moving. Only days later, that idea of metamorphosis suddenly appeared to take on a much more public meaning.

Then Miley Shared Something Without Saying a Word

On August 30, Miley uploaded a cryptic new Instagram post. The image was dramatically stylized in red and black, focusing tightly on Miley’s face. There was no caption at all.

On its own, the post could easily have been interpreted as another striking promotional image. But fans who began looking elsewhere soon spotted something much harder to dismiss, and it concerned Miley’s name.

‘Miley’ … and Nothing Else

On Miley’s official website, visitors are now greeted by an enormous red-toned image of the singer. In the upper-left corner sits a single word in bold black lettering:

“MILEY.”

Not “Miley Cyrus,” just Miley. The stripped-back branding (dropping her last name) quickly sparked speculation that Miley may be entering a new era professionally using only her first name.

There has been no explanation accompanying the website presentation thus far, so whether this represents a permanent professional name change, a temporary artistic choice, or simply branding for her next era remains unclear.

Still, the timing was impossible for fans to ignore. It arrived just days after Dolly’s passing and shortly after Miley said that one of their final discussions had been about “music and metamorphosis.” That was more than enough to get people talking.

Billy Ray Cyrus Weighs In

Miley’s father, Billy Ray Cyrus, revealed that the two had recently discussed her name and its place in her career. He wrote on Instagram:

“I told @miley yesterday I felt good about her going with her first name. I mentioned Dolly and Cher. Thinkin about it more and more … Elvis .. Prince … and so on. It’s a natural progression for an iconic superstar legend.”

Billy Ray also reflected on the personal significance of the name, noting that he had long addressed both of his children simply by their first names.

“I always called my little girl Miley. Just … Miley. Just like I always called my little boy Braison,” Billy Ray added.

He then connected his daughter’s apparent move to his own early career. Before “Achy Breaky Heart” came out in 1992, he said, his merchandise identified him simply as “CYRUS.” He joked that his label’s insistence on adding “Billy Ray” may have cost him his own chance at a one-name career.

Billy Ray ended his message on an enthusiastic note about what comes next for his daughter: “And the legend continues! Looking forward to the new album.”

Fans Have Plenty to Say About ‘Just Miley’

As the apparent rebrand spread online, social media users began reacting to the possibility of a surname-free Miley era. One person praised her ability to reinvent herself, writing, “the way miley rebrands every era and somehow makes every new version of herself work will never not impress me [sic].”

Another connected the move directly to Miley’s promise to keep going after Dolly’s death, “OMG she didn’t cancelled the era, she’s so strong and doing exactly what dolly told her to do [sic].” Someone else summed up the change rather succinctly, penning, “Just Miley now. The surname officially clocked off.”

Another fan was already anticipating what the singer might do next, writing, “Miley is about to do this for Dolly 🥺.”

The speculation continued in a separate wave of reactions. One user declared, “Dropping the last name completely? Oh she is coming to end the entire industry once again 😭💀 mother is preparing a masterpiece [sic]!” while a fellow observer added, “Dropping your last name just for a new era is an iconic move.”

For now, those remain fan interpretations rather than a confirmed explanation from Miley herself. But there is one especially interesting wrinkle in all of this: Miley has reinvented her name before.

‘Miley Cyrus’ Wasn’t Actually Her Original Name

Long before millions knew her simply as Miley Cyrus, she had an entirely different legal name. The singer was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, and she legally became “Miley Cyrus” in 2008, when she was just 15. The name Miley itself originated from a childhood nickname.

Her mother, Tish Cyrus, previously explained on the “Tea Time with Raven & Miranda” podcast that Billy Ray Cyrus came up with it. “She always smiled when she was little, so we would call her smiley Miley, and it just stuck,” Tish shared.

That meant the name the world would eventually know her by was itself the result of an earlier transformation. Billy Ray later reflected on why he and Tish originally chose Destiny Hope. “She’s a giver. She believes that we’re all put here for a reason, and that’s to give back to our fellow man,” he told Us Weekly in 2020.

“I’m real proud of her. That’s why we named her Destiny Hope. Destiny Hope Cyrus is her name – at least it used to be [before she legally changed it],” he explained. “But no matter what you call her, she still is Destiny Hope,” Billy Ray continued. “She is a ray of sunshine. She is a special human being. She’s got a great heart.”

Billy Ray Cyrus previously explained that he and Tish Cyrus named their daughter Destiny Hope because he believed she was destined to bring hope to the world. Years later, Miley would make the nickname her legal identity and build a global career around it. | Source: Getty Images

Billy Ray had given a similar explanation back in 2007. “Destiny Hope is her real name, but from the time she was born, she just smiled all the time, so we called her Smiley, and that evolved into Miley,” he said. He added, “Even before she was born, I just felt like it was her destiny to bring hope to the world.”

Nearly two decades after officially leaving “Destiny Hope” behind, Miley now appears to be playing with her identity once again. Only this time, she may be simplifying rather than replacing it.

From Destiny Hope Cyrus to Miley Cyrus, and now perhaps simply Miley, each version has marked a different chapter.

Coming so soon after the death of the woman Miley said spoke with her about “music and metamorphosis,” fans understandably believe this latest shift could carry far more meaning than a website redesign. For now, Miley has not provided the answer herself.

But if the stark new branding is indeed signaling the beginning of another era, one word may be all she needs this time: Miley.

As we previously reported, Miley was spotted for the first time since Dolly’s passing looking visibly somber outside a Los Angeles recording studio — and fans were quick to notice a small but deeply personal detail.

Miley Steps Out in a Somber Mood

The “The Last Song” actress kept things understated for the outing, wearing an all-black outfit and appearing noticeably subdued as she made her way inside. There was also another detail that immediately stood out: a small lavalier microphone was clipped to her shirt, suggesting she may have been recording or filming something at the studio.

That detail alone was enough to get people talking, with one person reacting, “The chick just walk [sic] around with a microphone on her shirt?” But the microphone wasn’t the only thing drawing attention.

Her Look Had Fans Wondering What Happened

Miley’s sunglasses covered much of her face, but they did little to stop viewers from scrutinizing her appearance. Several people thought her eyes appeared puffy, with one commenter writing, “Her eyes must be so puffy from the constant crying.”

Another person bluntly reacted, “She looks broken.” A separate comment added, “Not her hiding her eyes behind sunglasses after crying her eyes out over Dolly’s death.”

Those reactions reflected the emotional weight surrounding Miley’s first photographed appearance since Dolly’s death. Still, the most intriguing discussion wasn’t actually about Miley’s face.

Then Fans Zoomed In on Her Arm

As the photos circulated, attention shifted to a much smaller detail. Viewers began wondering whether a marking visible on Miley’s arm could be a tattoo depicting her famous godmother. One person asked, “Is that a tat of Dolly on her arm? How cool.”

Another echoed the question more simply, “Is it Dolly on her arm?” At this point, the photos themselves are what had sparked the speculation. The comments did not establish that the marking is a portrait of Dolly, but the possibility was enough for fans to immediately connect the detail to the longtime bond between the two singers. And that connection runs much deeper than a celebrity friendship.

Dolly and Miley’s Bond Began Before the Actress Was Born

Dolly’s relationship with Miley’s family dates back to 1992, when Billy Ray was promoting his breakout country hit, “Achy Breaky Heart.”

Shortly after their first meeting, Dolly interviewed Billy Ray in an NBC segment. “I have to honestly say to the folks out there that this one is one of the nicest people you ever want to meet,” a very affectionate Dolly said about Billy Ray at the time.

The “Coat of Many Colors” singer met Billy Ray around that period and later took him on tour as her opening act, helping strengthen a friendship that would eventually extend to his daughter.

When Miley was born on November 23, 1992, Dolly was already close to her family. In an interview giving an account of their relationship, Dolly later recalled, “And then, when Miley came along, I just said, ‘she has to be my fairy goddaughter.'”

The bond became part of Miley’s childhood, with Dolly even appearing three times on “Hannah Montana” as Aunt Dolly.
