As fans continued mourning Kyle during the emotional tribute, reports also revealed the medical condition that led to the NASCAR star’s sudden death, along with the alarming symptoms he reportedly experienced beforehand.

Kyle Busch Reportedly Coughed Up Blood Before Collapsing

According to CBS News, Kyle died from complications related to a serious lung infection, his family confirmed in a statement released on May 23.

“The medical evaluation provided to the Busch Family concluded that severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming associated complications,” the statement said.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, sepsis is a life-threatening condition caused by the body’s extreme response to an infection, which can damage tissues and organs.

CBS News also revealed that Kyle showed several alarming signs before the medical emergency.

In audio obtained from a 911 call, an unidentified caller told dispatchers, “I’ve got an individual that’s shortness of breath, very hot, thinks he’s going to pass out, and he’s producing a little bit of blood, coughing up some blood.”

The caller added that Busch was lying on the bathroom floor but was still conscious while emergency responders were being sent to the scene.
