Sylvester Stallone Covered a Tattoo of His Wife With His Dog Days Before Their Divorce Became Public – Photos of the Ink

Sylvester Stallone’s decades-long romance with Jennifer Flavin survived early breakups and eventually led to marriage and three daughters. Years later, one tattoo sparked questions about their relationship. Photos of the covered-up ink can be found at the end of the article.

Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin first became romantically involved in 1988, not long after his brief second marriage to Brigitte Nielsen had fallen apart.

The actor and the model met at a restaurant in Beverly Hills when she was 20 years old and he was experiencing a temporary setback with “Rambo III.” However, their relationship did not follow a direct path from there.

Stallone later became involved with model Janice Dickinson, who said he was the father of her daughter. He subsequently ended his relationship with Flavin through a letter delivered by FedEx.

Stallone and Dickinson eventually separated, and DNA testing later determined that he was not the child’s father. The actor then became engaged to actress Angie Everhart, but that relationship also ended, and he ultimately reunited with Flavin.

At the time, Stallone’s representative pushed back against speculation that the tattoo reflected problems in the marriage.

This time, their reconciliation lasted. Stallone and Flavin married on May 17, 1997, at the Dorchester Hotel in London. Given the actor’s reputation as a playboy, there had been doubts about how long the union would endure, but the couple went on to spend a quarter-century as husband and wife.

They also welcomed three daughters together: Sophia Stallone, Sistine Stallone, and Scarlet Stallone. By May 2022, Sophia was 25, Sistine was 24, and Scarlet was 20, and their parents had reached another major milestone by celebrating their silver wedding anniversary.

Only a few months later, however, attention shifted to a noticeable change on Stallone’s right bicep. The “Rocky” star had previously displayed a large portrait of Flavin on his upper arm.

But in August 2022, the image was covered by a tattoo of Butkus, the bull mastiff associated with his “Rocky” movies. The alteration attracted additional attention as signs emerged that all might not be well between the longtime couple.

Flavin, who is 22 years younger than Stallone, had shared an Instagram photo in which she only embraced their three daughters. She had also stopped following her husband on the platform.

At the time, Stallone’s representative pushed back against speculation that the tattoo reflected problems in the marriage. Instead, publicist Michelle Bega said the change resulted from an unsuccessful attempt to improve Flavin’s portrait, claiming:

“Mr. Stallone intended to refresh the tattoo image of his wife, Jennifer. However, the results were unsatisfactory and, unfortunately, unfixable. As a result, he had to cover the original image with a tattoo of his dog from ‘Rocky,’ Butkus.”

“Mr. Stallone loves his family. The Stallones are presently filming a reality show together which will debut on Paramount+,” Bega added. Nevertheless, the timing drew attention.

Stallone, then 76, had shown the portrait of his wife in a photo on his Instagram page as recently as August 7, 2022. Nine days later, on August 16, tattoo artist Zach Perez posted an image of himself working on Stallone’s upper arm.

Photos of the finished work revealed that Flavin’s portrait had been replaced by an image of the bull mastiff. Perez also posted a picture of the tattoo but later removed it after commenters began questioning why Stallone had covered the portrait of his wife.

The finished piece prompted reactions of its own online, with several people criticizing both the appearance of the cover-up and the decision to have a partner’s portrait tattooed in the first place.

One person commented, “Horrible cover up [sic]. He could have done better with it.” Another typed, “Too bad you can still see the original tattoo coming thru [sic]…”

A third person questioned the finished work, writing, “Why is the coverup so bad tho [sic]??? He can clearly afford a better artist 🤣.” Another shared, “That poor dog looks mutated and cursed 😅😭😂.”

Beyond critiques of the artwork, the circumstances also prompted a broader observation from one person, who said, “Also a reminder to never get a spouse or significant other tattoo [sic].”

Within days, news about Stallone and Flavin’s marriage provided new context for the attention surrounding the tattoo. On August 24, 2022, it became public that the couple was divorcing after 25 years of marriage.

Flavin had filed a petition “for dissolution of marriage and other relief” on August 19 in Palm Beach County, Florida. Stallone responded to the news in a statement, saying:

“I love my family. We are amicably and privately addressing these personal issues.”

Flavin also issued a statement confirming her decision to end the marriage while reflecting on the decades she and Stallone had shared. “I’m sad to announce that after 25 years of marriage I have filed for divorce from my husband Sylvester Stallone,” she said.

“While we will no longer be married, I will always cherish the more than 30-year relationship that we shared, and I know we are both committed to our beautiful daughters. I ask for privacy for our family as we amicably move forward,” the former model continued.

From a romance that began in 1988 and weathered multiple separations before leading to a 1997 wedding, Stallone and Flavin had shared more than three decades of history by the time the divorce filing became public.

Days before that news emerged, one visible reminder of their marriage had already disappeared beneath an image of Butkus. Photos showing Sylvester Stallone’s original tattoo and the subsequent cover-up can be seen below.

‘I Didn’t Need DNA or Blood Tests’: Photos Comparing Chuck Norris to the Daughter He Didn’t Know Existed for Almost 30 Years

The action star spent decades unaware that one brief relationship during his military service had resulted in the birth of a child. Keep reading to discover how an unexpected letter changed his life, and scroll to the end of this article to see photos of the daughter he didn’t know existed for nearly 30 years.

Long before he became one of Hollywood’s most recognizable action stars, Chuck Norris was a young Air Force serviceman whose life took an unexpected turn during his time in California.

The actor had enlisted in the U.S. Air Force shortly after graduating from high school in 1958. He trained as an air policeman, now known as Air Force Security Forces, with hopes of eventually working in law enforcement.

During a deployment to Osan Air Base in South Korea, he discovered Tang Soo Do, the Korean martial art that laid the foundation for the career that would eventually make him an international star.

By the early 1960s, however, the actor was still serving in the military and married to his childhood sweetheart, Dianne Holechek. The couple had tied the knot in 1958 when he was 18, and she was 17.

They later welcomed two sons together, Mike Norris in 1962 and Eric Norris in 1965. However, between those births, the Hollywood star had a brief affair while stationed in Riverside, California, shortly before leaving the Air Force.

It was only years later, after reading newspaper reports that Chuck had divorced, that Dina decided the time was right to reach out.

In his 2004 memoir, “Against All Odds: My Story,” Chuck explained that his brother had introduced him to two sisters, Joyce and Johanna, during a night out at a club. Chuck spent time with Johanna, but admitted he never told her he was married.

Their relationship was brief and, according to his memoir, they were intimate only once before he ended things because he knew continuing the romance was wrong. But unknown to him, she became pregnant.

Their daughter, Dianna DeCioli, known throughout her life as Dina, was born after that encounter. Johanna later married another man before Dina was born, leading her daughter to believe for years that her stepfather was her biological father.

It was not until Dina was 16 that her mother revealed the truth, explaining that Chuck was her real father. Still, even after learning his identity, Dina chose not to contact him.

Respecting her mother’s wishes, she stayed out of his life because he was married and raising a family of his own. It was only years later, after reading newspaper reports that Chuck had divorced, that Dina decided the time was right to reach out.

With the encouragement of her husband, Damien DeCioli, she wrote the action star a letter explaining who she was and expressing a desire to meet. Chuck later recalled opening the unexpected letter:

“I was going through my mail at home, and I see this letter and I open it up. It’s from Dina…and she says, ‘I’m your daughter from a past experience,’ and she said, ‘I found out you were my father when I was 16, but my mother said you were married and we shouldn’t interfere with your family.'”

The revelation left him stunned, and in his memoir, he wrote that he initially asked his mother to meet Dina before he did. After that meeting, his mother called and urged him to come over immediately. Unsure what to expect, the actor brought his brother with him for support.

At his mother’s home, every doubt disappeared the moment Chuck walked into the room. “I walked into the living room and nearly had my breath knocked out of me,” he wrote.

“There, standing before me, was a beautiful young lady. I was stunned, but the moment I saw her, I knew. I didn’t need DNA or blood tests; there was no doubt in my mind that she was my daughter,” he continued.

Chuck also recalled that they embraced and immediately broke down in tears, writing, “At that moment it was as if I had known her all of her life.” The emotional reunion marked the beginning of a close relationship rather than the end of an unanswered question.

Although an overseas work commitment briefly interrupted their first visit, Chuck and Dina stayed in contact and later reunited. In his memoir, he explained that Dina, Damien, and their three children eventually became “a blessed part of my life.”

He also revealed that he apologized to Johanna for the pain his actions had caused decades earlier, writing that he asked for her forgiveness during one of their conversations. Looking back on the circumstances surrounding Dina’s birth, Chuck never tried to excuse his actions.

Instead, he reflected on the experience through the lens of his Christian faith, acknowledging that the affair had been wrong while emphasizing that his daughter should never bear the burden of those choices. He wrote:

“Certainly, I know now that God does not condone premarital or extramarital sexual relationships. But I’ve also discovered that there is no such thing as an ‘illegitimate child.’ Every baby is legitimate in God’s eyes. […] I am blessed to have her [Dina] as my daughter.”

In the end, Chuck Norris’ unexpected reunion with his daughter transformed what began as a decades-old secret into one of the most personal chapters of his life. Scroll below to catch a glimpse of Dina.

Shelley Fabares, 82, Who Battled a Life-Threatening Health Crisis While Her ‘M*A*S*H’ Star Husband, Mike Farrell, Stood by Her Side, Has Died

Shelley Fabares spent decades as one of America’s most familiar faces, but one of the most consequential chapters of her life played out far from any camera, when her body nearly gave out, and her husband refused to leave her side.

The actress’s passing closed a story that began in front of millions of TV viewers and ended in a much quieter, more private battle. Her family confirmed the news this week, describing a woman whose warmth extended well beyond the screen.

What they didn’t dwell on in that statement was just how close they came to losing her decades earlier, and how that ordeal reshaped her marriage to “M*A*S*H” star Mike Farrell for good.

A Beloved Star Is Gone

Fabares died on Saturday, August 22, 2026, in Los Angeles, surrounded by loved ones. She was 82. Her family, including Farrell, shared the news in a statement to People.

“She was a devoted wife, cherished stepmother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, family member, and loyal friend whose warmth, generosity, humor, and grace made an enduring difference in the lives of everyone who knew her,” they said.

They added that she had “a remarkable ability to make people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for,” and asked for privacy while they grieve.

From Child Star to Household Name

Fabares was born Michele Marie Fabares in Santa Monica, California, in 1944. Her aunt, actress and singer Nanette Fabray, had already built a career in show business, and Fabares followed a similar path early on, modeling as a toddler and landing her first TV role at age 10.

By her teens, she’d become a household name playing Mary Stone on The Donna Reed Show, a role she held for five seasons. During that run, her single “Johnny Angel” hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100, launching a brief but successful recording career alongside her acting.

She went on to star opposite Elvis Presley in three films — “Girl Happy,“ “Spinout,“ and “Clambake” — and later earned acclaim for the Emmy-winning TV movie “Brian’s Song.“ Her decades-long résumé also included “One Day at a Time,“ “The Love Boat,“ and “Murder, She Wrote.“

In 1989, she found a new generation of fans as Christine Armstrong on “Coach,“ opposite Craig T. Nelson, a role that ran for eight seasons and earned her two Emmy nominations.

A Marriage Built on Loyalty

Fabares first met Mike Farrell in 1970 on the set of his series The Interns, but nothing came of it at the time. She was still married to record producer Lou Adler, a marriage that had already quietly ended in separation years earlier, though the divorce wasn’t finalized until 1980.

Farrell, meanwhile, was married to his “M*A*S*H” co-star Judy Farrell, with whom he had two children. That marriage ended in 1983.

Twelve years after their first meeting, Fabares and Farrell reconnected at a CBS affiliates convention. A coffee date turned into a courtship, and the two married within a year, in 1984, in a ceremony at her aunt’s home.

Blending their families wasn’t seamless. Farrell’s children from his first marriage needed time to accept their new stepmother, something Fabares later addressed candidly, saying the transition took “a lot of love, patience, courage, and strength.”

The Accident That Changed Everything

The couple’s bond would soon face a far more serious test. In 1994, while their home was still under construction, Fabares fell through unfinished floor joists and broke every rib on the left side of her body.

During treatment for her injuries, doctors ran routine follow-up bloodwork — and found her liver counts were, in her own words, “off the charts.” Doctors couldn’t immediately pinpoint the cause, but for the next several years, medication seemed to keep the numbers stable.

That stability didn’t last.

A Race Against Time

In early 1999, Fabares suffered a sudden and severe esophageal bleed and was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s emergency department. Doctors traced the episode to irreversible liver failure, according to a detailed account from Newswise. Without a transplant, they warned, another bleed could kill her.

She was placed on the transplant waiting list that April, fully aware of the odds stacked against her. More than half the people on the liver transplant list don’t live long enough to get one, she later said, describing herself as “living on borrowed time.”

The wait tested both her and Farrell in ways they hadn’t anticipated. Her transplant pager occasionally went off by mistake, sending them into panic before they learned to brace themselves each time it buzzed.

As her condition worsened, exhaustion consumed her days. She described waking up thirsty, starting toward the kitchen for water, and deciding sleep mattered more.

On October 23, 2000, after 22 months on the waiting list, the call finally came. A spokesperson confirmed to ABC News that Fabares had undergone successful transplant surgery and was recovering well, with doctors expecting a full recovery.

The operation, led by surgeon Steve Colquhoun and hepatologist John Vierling at Cedars-Sinai, gave her what she would later call an entirely new life.

Grateful for Every Day

Throughout the ordeal, Farrell rarely left her side, accompanying her to every doctor’s appointment and managing the parts of her life she could no longer handle herself. Fabares often said the crisis didn’t strain their marriage—it strengthened it.

😭Look what you lost, Stallone! This is how the actor’s ex-wife Bridget Nielson looks and lives today

Brigitte Nielsen, once known for her high-profile marriage to Sylvester Stallone, has reemerged in the public eye for far more inspiring reasons. At 60, the actress, model, and television personality is being celebrated for her confidence, grace, and authenticity. Her recent photos on social media have resonated with fans who see her as a symbol of resilience and the beauty of aging with self-assurance rather than fear.

Nielsen first rose to fame in the 1980s with roles in Red Sonja and Rocky IV, quickly becoming an international star. Her marriage to Stallone made her one of Hollywood’s most photographed figures, but the relationship ended after two years, drawing intense media attention. Despite the scrutiny, she continued to build her own career, refusing to let her personal life define her professional identity.

Following her acting success, Nielsen expanded into modeling and television, appearing in various European programs. Her 2018 return to Hollywood in Creed II was both nostalgic and meaningful, as she reprised her role as Ludmilla Drago. She described the experience as a professional and emotional full circle, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to revisit an iconic chapter of her career.

Throughout her journey, Nielsen has been candid about her struggles and personal growth. In a 2014 interview with Oprah Winfrey, she reflected on her battles with fame and self-doubt, emphasizing the strength that comes from acknowledging one’s mistakes. Her honesty inspired many who admired her willingness to reinvent herself.

Her personal life also reflects transformation. Nielsen, a mother of five, welcomed her youngest daughter, Frida, at age 54, describing motherhood later in life as both challenging and deeply fulfilling.

Today, Nielsen’s story represents empowerment through self-acceptance. She reminds audiences that true beauty and vitality come from confidence, courage, and embracing every stage of life.

Julia wore a loose-fitting black long-sleeved midi dress paired with black flip-flops. She completed the look with oversized dark sunglasses, carried a large olive-green shoulder bag, and wore her signature auburn hair in loose waves.

Hazel walked beside her mother in a black cardigan layered over a black top featuring a pink floral graphic. She paired it with black-and-white checkered cropped pants and black flats, along with oversized sunglasses and a black shoulder bag.

Her long blonde hair was styled straight, and one photo captured her briefly raising a hand near her face while Julia looked ahead.

One admirer wrote, “Beautiful and beautiful hair.” Another focused on Julia’s outfit, writing, “Why do rich people dress so badly? I’m not talking about the price of the clothes. I’m sure they’re expensive. But the cut and fit of Julia’s dress is embarrassing.”

A different individual questioned the outfits, writing, “Why would they wear black long sleeved clothes, and a cardigan on her daughter in July? It’s summer and these look like winter clothes.” Another commenter simply observed, “She looks like her.”

One series of images captured Julia linking her arm through her son’s as they continued their walk together. The gesture became one of the most talked-about moments from the outing after the photographs were shared online.

Who Was Walking Beside Julia? Online Comments Quickly Turned to His Resemblance

Because Roberts has kept her family life largely private, many people who saw the photos wanted to know more about the young man walking beside her.

According to the same publication, he is Phinnaeus “Finn” Moder, Roberts’ 21-year-old son. Phinnaeus is the twin brother of Hazel, and the couple also has a younger son, Henry.

Once his identity became clear, many commenters turned their attention to another question: Which parent does he resemble?

Several people thought Phinnaeus closely resembled his father. On Instagram, one user wrote, “He looks just like his dad.” Another commenter echoed that view, “I thought that was Danny. He looks like his dad here.”

Others pointed to similarities with Julia instead. One person commented, “Looks like his mom with red hair,” while another wrote, “Lips like his mother! 💕”

Not every comment focused on family resemblance. Someone else reacted to the photos of Julia linking arms with her son, asking, “does she need his support to walk? she isn’t that old.”

The discussion continued on Facebook after the images were reposted there. One commenter wrote, “She does not look like Julia Roberts,” while another focused on Phinnaeus’s first name instead of his appearance, writing, “Lovely family, love it that Julia’s son has an ancient Greek name 😀.” A third simply added, “What a name lol.”
