A Dream Trip That Ended in Tragedy

Lynette Hooker, 55, was last seen alive on the evening of April 4, 2026, somewhere between Hope Town and Elbow Cay on the island of Abaco.

Her husband, Brian Hooker, 58, made it back to shore alone hours later, and what he told authorities has since sparked a firestorm of public scrutiny and a family’s desperate push for a full investigation.

The couple had spent years building toward this trip, documenting their life at sea for a growing online following. But behind the sun-soaked posts, Lynette’s daughter says, a very different picture was forming — one she wants investigators to look at closely.

Brian and Lynette were from Onsted, Michigan, and had been sailing together for more than a decade, posting updates on boat repairs, island explorations, and life at sea under the handle “the sailing hookers.”

The Bahamas had always been the destination they were working toward, and they finally made it.

According to the FOX 2 Detroit report, they had posted as recently as the day before Lynette disappeared. One post was titled “Not going anywhere,” while another showed their trip to Great Guana Cay.

What Brian Told Authorities

According to the Royal Bahamas Police Force, the couple had left Hope Town at around 7:30 p.m. in a small 8-foot hard-bottom dinghy, heading back to their yacht.

Brian told police that strong currents struck the boat and Lynette “bounced” overboard. The currents, he says, then swept her away, and he lost sight of her. The last he saw of his wife, he told officials, she was swimming toward shore.

There was another complication. Brian told police that when Lynette fell overboard, she had the engine’s safety lanyard with her — meaning the boat lost power immediately.

Battling winds of 18 to 22 knots and unable to motor, he drifted four miles toward Marsh Harbour. He reached land at 4 a.m. Sunday morning, beached the dinghy, walked through the bush to the Marsh Harbour Boat Yards, and called the police.

Rescue teams from the Royal Bahamas Police Force, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, and local fire and rescue departments launched a six-hour search on Sunday with no results. The US Coast Guard later joined by air.

By Tuesday, the operation — spanning water, sky, and land using drones and professional divers — had still turned up nothing. Search and rescue teams have since shifted to a recovery operation.

The Husband Declines to Answer Questions

When CBS News approached Brian Hooker for comment, he declined to answer any questions. That silence was enough to set the internet ablaze. Viewers who watched footage of Brian reacted with visible unease, and the comments were pointed:

She described her parents’ 25-year marriage as far from smooth. “I feel like it’s always been kind of rocky,” Karli said. “Their relationship has been a lot of fighting and drinking lately.”

She also struggled to make sense of the specific details Brian gave authorities. Lynette typically sat in the front of the dinghy, Karli explained, while Brian always drove and controlled the key.

The claim that Lynette had the engine safety lanyard when she fell simply did not add up to her daughter. “The fact that my mom had it doesn’t make any sense,” Karli said.

“And also, why is she swimming away from the dinghy? Why isn’t she coming back to be on it with him? Like, why didn’t he stop and put the anchor out and look for her? It just doesn’t make sense.”

Karli also shared a voicemail Brian sent her after rescue teams found the flotation device he claimed to have thrown to Lynette:

“I just got a call from Hope Town Search and Rescue, and they have found the flotation device that I threw to Mom when she fell overboard. And — so there is that — they haven’t found her yet, but they can now focus all of their efforts in a smaller area, and they’re still out there searching today.”

‘Prior Issues’ and a Family Demanding Answers

In a statement to FOX News Digital, Karli went further, calling for a thorough investigation.

“There have been prior issues brought to my attention, which may be important for any thorough investigation,” she said. “If this truly was an accident, I can understand and live with it. However, there needs to be an intensive review of the facts and circumstances.”

Karli has since hired an attorney and set up a GoFundMe page to help fund the search for her mother — or, if it comes to it, to help lay her to rest.

Investigators identified the couple as Stephen Larnell Willetts and Tracey Parker Willetts. Their deaths shocked the people who regularly saw Stephen outside, but the couple’s relatives and longtime friends knew how much loss had followed them through the previous 13 years.

What Led Deputies Inside the Couple’s Home?

Emergency medical personnel were called to 5841 Rowsgate Lane in New Hanover County on the morning of July 30, 2026. Authorities reportedly believe a smartwatch worn by one of the victims automatically contacted 911 after sensing either a hard fall or the absence of a pulse.

The medical crew could not enter the residence, so deputies from the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office were asked to assist. They found an open garage door and used it to get inside.

Stephen and Tracey were discovered dead in the home, and both appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds. The sheriff’s office later announced that evidence allegedly pointed to a murder-suicide. But there’s more to the case.

Detectives believe Tracey fatally shot Stephen before taking her own life, according to the local report. Officials described the incident as isolated and said there was no known danger to other residents.

The date of this discovery made the whole situation much more painful for those who knew the couple. Stephen and Tracey had reportedly celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary only one day earlier.

Still, their long marriage was just one part of the family history that friends began revisiting. Years before the deaths on Rowsgate Lane, Stephen and Tracey had faced two losses in quick succession, each involving one of their children.

What Had They Lost Over a Decade Ago?

Stephen and Tracey were the parents of Zachary “Zack” Grey Willetts and Colby Willetts. Both sons died as young men, just over a year apart.

Zack died on February 2, 2013, at age 23. His publicly available obituary did not state a cause of death. But like his father, Zack chose to serve his country. His memorial said he proudly served in the Army National Guard and volunteered for deployment to Afghanistan.

A Google search for Billy Joel incorrectly displayed an informational box stating that he had “Died Sept. 17, 2026,” according to Newsday. His publicist, Claire Mercuri, confirmed that the information was false.

“Billy’s not dead,” Mercuri said Thursday afternoon. “I was just emailing with him.” The false report surfaced as Joel recently shared new details about the health problems that forced him to step away from performing.

In an interview on SiriusXM, Joel recalled the physical changes that first made him realize something was wrong. “I noticed that my balance was not good. I have this sense of like, being on a boat, like this rocking motion. I wasn’t steady on my feet. I didn’t know why that was,” Joel said.

Because he did not know what was causing the problem, he went to a neurologist.

The Diagnosis Behind Billy Joel’s Health Problems

Joel revealed that he was diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus, or NPH, a condition he said was previously called “water on the brain.”

“Nobody’s really sure what causes it, but they’re able to diagnose it,” Joel said.

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, NPH occurs when excess cerebrospinal fluid, or CSF, builds up in cavities in the brain called ventricles. The buildup can enlarge the ventricles and put pressure on nearby brain tissue.

NPH most often affects older adults. Possible symptoms include trouble walking, poor balance, falls, forgetfulness, confusion, and loss of bladder control.

Because some NPH symptoms can resemble those associated with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, doctors may use brain scans, walking evaluations, spinal taps, and other tests to help confirm the condition.

For Joel, receiving the diagnosis also meant considering the treatment his doctors recommended.

Joel Initially Resisted the Recommended Treatment

Joel said doctors warned that his condition could progress and recommended implanting a shunt in his brain. After hearing that the procedure would involve drilling through his skull to place the device, he initially did not want to go through with it.

He later researched the treatment and reconsidered. Joel also found it difficult to determine which changes he was experiencing were related to aging and which were connected to his condition.

“It’s hard to tell what’s age and what’s a condition. So, I agreed to do the shunt, and I had a surgery, and they implanted a shunt in my brain, and it actually improved things,” Joel said. “My memory got better, my balance got a little better, my ability to function was better.”

Johns Hopkins explains that a shunt used to treat NPH drains excess cerebrospinal fluid from the brain. The tube is typically placed in a brain ventricle and routed under the skin to the abdomen, where the excess fluid is absorbed by the body. The treatment does not work for everyone, though some patients benefit from it.

Why Joel Stepped Away From Performing

Joel’s concert schedule had already been affected by his health. In March 2025, he announced that several shows would be rescheduled, and in May, he canceled his remaining scheduled concerts.

In his recent SiriusXM interview, Joel offered more context about why performing had become a concern.

“I realized, and the doctors told me this, because of my job, which is playing rock and roll music very loud, that it was giving me something like a concussion every time I did a show,” Joel said. “It was causing damage to my brain nerves and I could be losing more brain cells the more I played the more shows I did.”

According to People, the new book “Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump” claims Harp controlled much of the flow of information reaching the president.

The book, written by New York Times Journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, reportedly relies on more than 1,000 interviews with hundreds of people from spring 2023 through spring 2026.

That kind of access alone would make Harp an interesting figure. But what really makes the story sparkle with intrigue is how personal the relationship between aide and boss allegedly became.

Harp joined Trump in his post-presidency life at Mar-a-Lago after previously working as a TV personality for Fox News and One America News Network.

From there, the book describes her as a constant presence around Trump, including on the golf course. She reportedly supplied him “with a fresh stream of positive news stories and social media comments that she would often read aloud and later follow up with copies from the portable printer she carried around.”

That portable printer detail may sound almost comical, but it became central to her image. In fact, another report called Harp Trump’s “human printer,” and suggested the nickname was not just a cute bit of staff shorthand.

As per The Daily Beast, Author Michael Wolff said Harp filters everything Trump reads in a role that included typing out his Truth Social posts and printing his daily reading material. “Everything that he reads is funneled through Natalie Harp because she’s the human printer,” Wolff said.

He added, “The stuff that she prints out is this laudatory stuff. Anything laudatory, she’s searching for at all times and then giving to the president.” That is where the story gets even more fascinating…

The book also described a March 2025 incident involving Trump’s economic team. At the time, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and others were reportedly giving Trump accurate tariff numbers for countries such as China and India as he prepared a sweeping trade war.

Trump allegedly thought the numbers were “[expletive] numbers.” So Harp was reportedly called in to “do your Google, do your computer thing” and find the “real numbers.”

But Haberman and Swan wrote, “Harp, despite her best efforts, was not finding the numbers that didn’t exist.” That moment paints Harp as both powerful and limited. She could search, print, and filter, but even devotion could not produce facts that were not there.

Still, the White House pushed back against the tone of the reporting. White House Spokesperson Kush Desai told People, “No President has used social media as effectively as President Trump, who has formed a direct line of communication to the American people.”

“The Fake News Media hates being cut out, but the American people appreciate directly hearing from their president, Donald J. Trump,” he added. Desai also defended Harp directly. “No president has cultivated as much loyalty among their staffers and administration officials as President Trump; this is a testament to his commitment to our country and its people,” he said.

“Natalie Harp is a beloved White House Official, and the Fake News Media will never understand what it’s like to be as trusted and admired as her,” Desai added. That loyalty, however, reportedly had a long emotional backstory.

Leavitt’s Friday trip to South Carolina, where she joined a rally for Sen. Darline Graham, marked her final official flight as press secretary.

She won’t be gone completely. Leavitt told reporters she’ll be back on Air Force One for the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention on September 9 and 10.

The trip came 12 days after she first announced she was stepping down — a departure that closes out her run as the youngest press secretary in American history.

Speaking to reporters in the press cabin before takeoff, Leavitt got personal about why she’s walking away from the daily grind of the briefing room.

She admitted she’ll miss the job, “but I love my kids even more.” She and her family plan to stay in Washington for now, and she made clear this isn’t a real goodbye: “You guys will still see me all the time.”

She also thanked Trump for giving her the “distinct privilege” of speaking on his behalf from the White House podium, saying she had taken great pride in defending his administration’s record and pushing back against the media.

Leavitt explained that becoming a mother while holding one of Washington’s most demanding public-facing jobs had been both deeply rewarding and incredibly difficult. Since returning to the White House following the birth of her daughter, she said her priorities had become impossible to ignore.

She is also a regular presence on Fox News and other cable networks and has been quick to challenge stories on social media as “fake news.” At 29, Kelly is close in age to Leavitt and reportedly has a similar on-camera presence.

Before moving into Trump’s political world, Kelly was the 2019 Miss State Fair of Virginia and later became involved with Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign after working as Wisconsin communications director for the Republican National Committee.

Alina Habba

Alina Habba would bring a very different résumé to the briefing room. Habba spent years defending Trump through high-profile legal disputes, including matters involving his former Adviser Michael Cohen and Author E. Jean Carroll.

That work regularly put Habba in front of cameras for impromptu press conferences outside courthouses, giving her plenty of experience delivering forceful public defenses of Trump. Margo Martin is another familiar figure in Trump’s inner circle, although her current job looks very different from the traditional press secretary role. As the president’s special assistant and communications adviser, Martin has become a major force behind Trump’s social media presence, with her videos regularly appearing on Team Trump accounts and attracting millions of views.

Originally from Oklahoma, Martin previously worked as a press assistant during Trump’s first administration and later moved to Palm Beach, Florida, to continue working with him after he left office. The report describes Martin as MAGA’s most prolific content creator, while Trump has reportedly called her “the most beautiful photographer in the world.”

Leavitt herself has previously said Martin has the “trust of the president.” Still, moving from a behind-the-scenes social media role to becoming the administration’s main representative in the briefing room would be a substantial shift.

Katie Miller

Katie Miller is another name with deep connections to Trump’s political operation. Miller, the wife of Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, has built her own media profile through a podcast, television appearances, and online commentary, often interviewing administration figures and discussing Trump administration policies.

She also previously worked on Capitol Hill, including for Mike Pence, and served as an aide to Elon Musk at DOGE.

There is one obvious practical consideration, however: Miller has four children, including a newborn, something the report suggested could make taking on such an all-consuming role difficult.

Scott Jennings

Scott Jennings would be a more unconventional choice. Jennings has become a familiar conservative voice on CNN, regularly appearing as a commentator in discussions involving Trump and his administration.

That television role has earned him praise from inside Trumpworld, with the report noting that Trump personally enjoys watching his commentary.

At 48, Jennings is older than several of the other potential candidates and also brings decades of experience in Republican politics dating back to 2000. One of his earlier jobs was working as a campaign manager for Mitch McConnell, giving him a résumé that stretches well beyond media commentary.

Kingsley Wilson

Then there is Kingsley Wilson, whose potential selection could prove significantly more controversial. Wilson has served as press secretary at the Department of War since May of last year (2025) and became particularly visible during the Iran war.

However, the report said she could be a divisive option because of previous comments she made while working at the right-wing Center for Renewing America.

Despite the controversy, Wilson appears to have significant support within the administration. She became the youngest press secretary at the Pentagon at 26 and also has family connections to Trump’s political movement: her father is Steve Cortes, who served as a communications spokesman for Trump during the 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns.

Laura Loomer

And then there is perhaps the most eye-catching name on the list: Laura Loomer. The Times pointed to the 2024 book “How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America,” by Josh Dawsey, Tyler Pager and Isaac Arnsdorf, which recounted Trump once asking aides about Loomer: “Is she too fringe to be press secretary?”

Loomer has developed a reputation in Washington as both an ally of Trump and an enforcer within his movement, at times highlighting administration figures she views as insufficiently loyal. Some of those figures have subsequently been dismissed, according to the report.

However, the report also suggested a Loomer appointment is considered unlikely, despite Trump’s continued relationship with her.

Loomer was also the person who showed Trump unfounded online allegations before the 2024 ABC presidential debate claiming Haitian immigrants in Ohio were stealing and eating cats and geese.

Trump repeated a version of that claim during the debate, prompting allies including Kellyanne Conway and Lindsey Graham to urge him to distance himself from Loomer. Despite that, the two have reportedly remained in contact.

So while several names may look far more conventional, the range of possibilities alone guarantees plenty of intrigue around Trump’s eventual choice.

JD Vance Praises Leavitt’s Time at the Podium

Leavitt’s announcement quickly triggered a wave of messages from major administration figures. Vice President JD Vance praised her on X, describing the White House press secretary position as “one of the hardest jobs in the Administration.”

As people debated who the woman was and whether the picture was even real, the story surrounding Trump’s longtime aide Natalie Harp made the image particularly intriguing.

The image began circulating widely online on Monday, September 14, 2026, appearing to show Trump embracing a blonde woman on a golf course. The woman’s face cannot be seen, but social media viewers quickly assumed she was Harp, the 35-year-old aide who has worked in Trump’s orbit for several years.

The Photo That Set Off the Rumors

The timing only added to the attention. The image surfaced shortly after Trump visited Ireland and spent time golfing at his Trump Organization-owned course in Doonbeg, with the outing listed on his schedule as “Executive Time,” according to a fact-checking investigation.

But there was no photographer, date, or location attached to the image, and there was no credible photographic record confirming that the apparent encounter had happened.

Why Natalie Harp’s Name Quickly Entered the Conversation

Harp’s name did not appear out of nowhere.

She has become a familiar figure around Trump, accompanying him during golf outings and other events and earning the nickname “the Human Printer” because of her practice of carrying a portable printer and producing hard copies of articles, emails, and other information for him.

Her role reportedly expanded beyond printing documents. According to reports, Harp became involved in communications and Trump’s social media operation, giving her an unusually close position within his inner circle. That proximity has attracted scrutiny before, particularly because of accounts describing how determined she was to remain near Trump.

The Letter That Added to the Speculation

One reason social media viewers connected the mystery woman to Harp was a previously reported letter she allegedly wrote to Trump. The letter reportedly included an apology over an incident during a golf outing in Scotland, where Harp had been filmed running across the course to keep up with Trump’s golf cart.

“I also am sorry if I was an embarrassment walking the course in Scotland,” she allegedly wrote. She reportedly continued:

“There was the time when a surprised Melania Trump stumbled upon Harp late at night in Trump’s private quarters at Mar-a-Lago, an area that was typically off-limits to those outside Trump’s family,” Isenstadt wrote. “Harp was there to deliver Trump some documents and didn’t want to wait until the morning to give them to him.”

That story became another part of the broader discussion about how unusually close Harp’s access to the president appeared to be, although it still did not establish anything romantic between them.

Even the Nickname ‘Fatal Attraction’ Entered the Story

According to Isenstadt’s book, some of Trump’s advisers jokingly compared Harp to Glenn Close’s character Alex Forrest from Fatal Attraction. The comparison reportedly related to what some people around Trump viewed as the intensity of Harp’s attachment to him.

The nickname did not establish a romantic relationship between Harp and Trump. Rather, it reflected the sheer intensity of her devotion that reportedly unsettled some people around the campaign. Isenstadt wrote that Natalie had become effectively “unfireable.” Despite frustration among some senior staffers, Donald continued to value her.

Speaking to Stella Inger Escobedo, the first lady’s representative, Marc Beckman had previously pushed back against what he described as gossip surrounding Harp.

“The liberal media is ridiculous. They don’t know anything about the first lady’s personal and private life. They don’t even take the time to put us on air to cover these incredible achievements that our first lady has accomplished,” he told Escobedo.

Two versions of the picture were circulating online — one in high resolution and another in significantly lower resolution. The higher-quality version contained several details that raised questions about whether it had been created or manipulated using artificial intelligence.

Among the most noticeable issues was the woman’s hand, which appeared to have too many fingers. The higher-resolution version also contained a watermark associated with OpenAI’s generative AI tools, according to the Snopes investigation.

The lower-resolution version was much harder to assess because it was simply too blurry to reveal the same telltale details.

An AI Expert Wasn’t Ready to Call Both Versions Fake

Hany Farid, co-founder of deepfake detection company Get Real, examined the images for Snopes. His assessment was strikingly different depending on which version he was looking at. Farid said the higher-resolution version was clearly AI, while the authenticity of the lower-resolution version remained “inconclusive.”

That distinction matters because it means the available evidence did not establish thatevery version circulating online had been artificially generated. Snopes also noted that it could not find a credible source for the photograph.

The Image’s Digital Trail Raised More Questions

A reverse-image search reportedly found the oldest example of the photograph as a thumbnail for a September 14 YouTube video uploaded by political commentator Keith Edwards. Edwards told Snopes that his thumbnail team had found the image online but said they did not create or alter the underlying image.

He also acknowledged that they had not independently verified the source or the identity of the woman in the picture. Because only the back of her head was visible, Edwards said he did not believe her identity could be confirmed from the image alone.

Snopes also reported that its searches did not find the image in credible news reports or photo repositories such as Getty Images or The Associated Press.

There Was Even a False Theory About an Old Trump Photo

As the picture circulated, some social media viewers claimed it was actually an old photograph of Trump greeting Norwegian golfer Suzann Pettersen with a cheek kiss.

That theory was also investigated and rejected. The older 2017 encounter happened in different circumstances, and the clothing worn by Trump and Pettersen did not match what appeared in the viral image.

So that explanation did not solve the mystery either.

Social Media Had Plenty to Say

While the image’s authenticity was being debated, social media viewers had plenty of opinions about what they were seeing. One commenter called the image “The Moment of Truth. The new Melania,” while another joked, “Blonde is his favorite color lol.”

Others were more skeptical, with one user pointing out, “Their heads aren’t even facing each other!”

Another commenter brought Melania Trump into the discussion, asking, “Anyone tag Melania on this?” The mixed reactions reflected just how quickly the unverified image became a talking point online, with some users debating what it supposedly showed and others questioning whether it was real at all.

Then Trump Posted Something of His Own

As the photograph continued circulating, Trump returned to Truth Social. He posted a picture of himself looking unhappy, with what appeared to be police officers in the background, and gave it a short caption:

“The Hoax Buster.”

He offered no additional explanation alongside the post. The report described the image as appearing to be AI-generated as well, noting that Trump has previously shared AI-generated images on Truth Social.

But the post did not directly identify or address the viral photograph of the woman believed by social media users to be Harp.

And Then Came the White House Response

With the image continuing to circulate and questions growing over whether it was genuine, the White House was asked about it. The response was considerably shorter than the speculation surrounding the photograph. A White House spokesperson described the image as “clearly a fake photo.”

That was the White House’s stated position on the viral picture. The statement came as the image itself remained under scrutiny, with the higher-resolution version showing apparent AI indicators while the lower-resolution version had not been conclusively authenticated.

For now, the photograph does not establish that Trump and Harp shared the apparent kiss shown in it, and the identity of the woman cannot be confirmed from the image alone.

What is clear is that a single blurry photograph, combined with years of public attention around Harp’s unusually close working relationship with Donald Trump, was enough to send social media into another round of speculation — before the White House stepped in with a very simple answer.

The casual studio photos document more than an ordinary visit: They mark Harry’s first reported sighting since relocating to the U.K. with his wife and two children.

Harry, 41, was photographed at Tower Bridge Studios in London after spending much of Friday, September 4, 2026, at the facility, according to People.

Tower Bridge Studios shared several photos from the visit on Instagram on Monday, September 7. Harry wore a dark blazer over an open-collar white shirt as he posed beside the studio’s colorful wall of signatures.

“Thank you Prince Harry for choosing Tower Bridge Studios!” the studio wrote. “It was an absolute pleasure to have you in our studios and signing our wall 📸 we look forward to welcoming you back again.”

One photo showed the Duke of Sussex smiling and pointing toward his signature. Another captured him with his back to the camera as he wrote on the wall.

The Photos Mark Harry’s First Sighting Since His UK Relocation

According to People, this is the first time the Duke of Sussex has been spotted since relocating to Britain with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.

Rather than appearing at a public engagement, Harry was photographed inside a production facility. The studio’s images offer only a glimpse of what happened during his visit. A source at Tower Bridge Studios described Harry’s time there to the publication.

“He was very, very pleasant to everyone,” the source said. “And he was very pleased to sign our celebrity wall. It was all very relaxed.”

What Brought Harry to the Studio Remains a Mystery

Harry was reportedly doing more than signing the wall and posing for photos. According to the outlet, he spent most of September 4 at Tower Bridge Studios working on an undisclosed “mystery project.”

An independent company booked the studio, and a group of men accompanied Harry during the visit. Tower Bridge Studios offers privately booked “closed sets” for audio and video recording.

The gated complex provides privacy for productions and their guests. According to People, the studio has hosted productions including “The Diary of a CEO” and “The Apprentice.”

Harry’s Appearance Gets People Talking Online

The first photos of Harry since his reported relocation prompted a mix of reactions online, with several netizens commenting positively on his appearance and work.

On a now-deleted Instagram post, one netizen said, “He’s looking very well.” Another user shared, “Good king [sic] Harry simply doing what is important to him.” A commenter wrote, “Harry is busy quietly doing what he does best.”

Other users focused specifically on his grooming and hair. Someone else remarked, “I see they have combed his ‘hair ‘ back and trimmed his beard, tidying him up.😂😂😂” Another netizen wrote, “Wow look at all of his new hair.”

On Reddit, the reaction included speculation about his hair. One user wrote, “What the hell with the photoshopped hair? Or it’s a new turkisk [sic] hair implant?” A different person remarked, “Alarming 🤦.”

King Charles III Clarifies Harry and Meghan’s Status After Their Return

Harry’s return to Britain has also prompted clarification about what the move means for his role within the royal family.

According to CNN, King Charles III has confirmed that Harry and Meghan remain non-working royals and will not carry out official engagements on behalf of the Crown.

The clarification came in a letter sent on the King’s behalf on Monday by the Lord Chamberlain, the most senior officer of the British royal household.

The letter said it is “well known” that Prince Harry and Meghan stepped down from representative duties on behalf of the sovereign in January 2020 and “are no longer working Members of The Royal Family.”

Their current status will “continue to be fully respected,” the letter said, adding, “There is no change to the current status of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

While the King has now clarified the Sussexes’ official position, their return has also renewed attention on Harry’s relationship with the Prince and Princess of Wales.

As previously reported, Harry and Meghan arrived in the U.K. on August 26 after more than six years in California.

According to People, the move came ahead of a major change for their children. Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, are set to start school in the U.K. in September, though their school and the family’s residence have not been disclosed.

Their arrival also closes some of the physical distance between Harry and William. One source told the publication that being back in Britain offers Harry the “best opportunity” to try to mend his strained relationship with his older brother.

William Reportedly Did Not Expect the Sussexes’ Full UK Return

“Prince William was blindsided,” royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told Fox News Digital. According to Kinsey, Harry’s talk of spending more time in the U.K. had already registered with William, but the decision to move the family back was reportedly unexpected.

“William now has to navigate a situation he did not create, did not ask for and, given the state of their relationship, almost certainly would not have chosen,” she said.

Several royal experts who spoke with the same media source described William and Kate as “concerned” about the Sussexes’ extended return.

British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard said the Prince and Princess of Wales were “feeling uneasy” about another chapter in what she called the “endless Sussex soap opera.” Helena added, “It’s about broken trust.”

She claimed William believes Harry and Meghan spent years attacking the royal institution and then monetizing their grievances through their media operation. In Helena’s assessment, William does not want to fuel or endorse behavior he considers damaging.

“I’ve been told he has no desire to connect on any level with his younger brother,” Neil said of William. Neither William nor Kensington Palace confirmed Sean’s account.

Archewell, which handles the offices of Harry and Meghan, also declined to address the matter. “We do not comment on the family’s private travel arrangements or meetings with the extended family,” a spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

Now among the crowd, Catherine spoke with people at close range while phones and cameras captured the interactions around her. During one of those greetings, she stopped with a woman dressed in a black coat and pink plaid scarf, who presented her with a bouquet of flowers.

The exchange soon became more personal. Catherine moved closer and wrapped her arms around the woman in a tight embrace, which the woman returned as both appeared to smile.

Their interaction continued after the hug. Still holding the bouquet, Catherine stood beside the woman for a photograph, and the pair remained close as they posed together.

The woman was not identified, and what she and Catherine said during their encounter was unclear. But the warmth visible in their exchange quickly became part of the conversation surrounding the video.

The Hug Raised Questions About Royal Protocol

In another discussion, one netizen wondered whether customs surrounding physical contact with members of the royal family had changed.

“The rules must be loosening up a bit. Not long ago, the public was not allowed to touch members of the royal family,” the person said. Another reaction took a different direction, with one admirer declaring, “She was born to be queen❤️.”
