This 13-Year-Old’s Voice Left the World Speechless – 20 Million People Can’t Be Wrong

Daneliya Tuleshova’s “Tears of Gold” AGT Audition Wasn’t Just a Performance—It Was an Awakening

Vocal warm-up exercises

Some singers hit notes. Others hit emotions. But once in a while, a voice appears that wraps around your heart and squeezes—not in pain, but in awe. That’s exactly what 13-year-old Daneliya Tuleshova did when she walked onto the America’s Got Talent stage in 2020.

She stood small and humble, with long blonde hair and eyes that held both nerves and determination. And then… she sang.

“Tears of Gold,” a song by Faouzia known for its emotional weight and vocal demands, poured out of her in waves. The moment she opened her mouth, the room shifted. Her voice—controlled, powerful, haunting—felt like it had lived a thousand lifetimes. Every word carried heartbreak. Every note carried strength. The judges sat still at first, maybe unsure what to expect—but by the time she hit the chorus, they were wide-eyed. One by one, they stood, clapping in stunned silence

And back home? Millions of us felt it through the screen. Her audition has since been viewed over 20 million times—and honestly, it’s not enough. That performance was more than just good. It was soul-shaking.

She definitely deserved the golden buzzer!

Now, let’s be honest. We’ve all seen golden buzzer moments that were good—some even great. But Daneliya? That audition had everything. Not just the notes. Not just the power. But truth. And when she stood there afterward, quietly smiling as the audience gave her a standing ovation, it was impossible not to think:

But it didn’t happen.

There was no confetti. No dramatic slow-motion hugs. And maybe that’s what makes this performance even more powerful—it stood on its own. No gimmicks. No need for glitter. Just a girl, a dream, and a voice that could stop time.

A Story Bigger Than the Stage

Daneliya was not new to performing. She had already made waves in Europe—winning The Voice Kids Ukraine, representing Kazakhstan at Junior Eurovision, and reaching the Top 8 on The World’s Best. But AGT? That was different. That was her stepping onto one of the world’s biggest stages and saying, “I’m here.”

And she came not to impress, but to express. The pain and resilience in her voice during “Tears of Gold” wasn’t acted—it was lived. Even if she hadn’t experienced heartbreak the way the song suggests, she carried it like someone who had been listening deeply her whole life. That’s rare. Especially at 13

Throughout the season, she continued to amaze. Her semifinal performance of Jessie J’s “Who You Are” had judge Sofia Vergara saying it felt like being at a real concert. Her finals rendition of Sia’s “Alive” was a vocal hurricane. Still, she didn’t win the show. She placed in the Top 10, finishing in 6th place.

But let’s be real—some victories don’t come with trophies. They come with doors opening, hearts moved, and futures rewritten.

Since the show, Daneliya has only grown—not just in fame, but in artistry. She’s now based in the U.S., writes her own songs, and releases  music under just one name: Daneliya. Her sound has matured, blending pop, soul, and raw emotion. Songs like “It’s Only Pain” and “Cynical” show a young woman stepping fully into her power.

She graduated high school in the U.S., started living independently as a teenager, and continued to perform worldwide. She even returned to AGT in the All-Stars edition, proving that her voice, and her story, still belong in the spotlight.

And maybe most beautifully—through it all—she hasn’t forgotten where she’s from. Every time she walks on stage, she says, “I’m Daneliya, and I’m from Kazakhstan.” It’s not just pride—it’s identity. And it’s powerful.

A Voice That Echoes

There’s something about that Tears of Gold performance that sticks with you. It’s not just a girl singing a song. It’s a moment where everything—talent, heart, timing—lined up perfectly. A moment that deserved confetti. A golden buzzer. A standing ovation from the world.

But maybe the real magic is this: she didn’t need it. That performance was golden with or without the buzzer. Because it made us feel. It reminded us what music can do.

And honestly? That rendition should be sold in pharmacies—because it heals souls.

If you haven’t watched it yet, do yourself a favor. Grab some headphones. Find a quiet space. And let her voice carry you somewhere deep—somewhere honest. You’ll understand exactly what we mean.

The Final Hours of Lindsey Graham: From His Ukraine Trip to the 911 Call No One Saw Coming – Details

Just a day earlier, the senator had been moving through the polished halls of power, talking policy and planning what came next. By Saturday night, the reassuring rhythm of his public life had given way to a chain of unsettling details that only became clear after it was too late.

Lindsey Graham had just returned from a high-profile overseas mission, spoken enthusiastically with the president, and appeared focused on the political battles ahead. Then, within hours, an emergency call sent first responders racing to his Capitol Hill home — where an unexpected problem at the front door reportedly complicated their efforts to reach him.

The details that emerged afterward form a heartbreaking timeline: a long journey home, one final political phone call, an alarming report of chest pain, and a desperate attempt to save the senator’s life.

The Man Behind the Political Headlines

According to Graham’s official Senate biography, the South Carolina Republican was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2002 after serving in the House of Representatives.

He became known as an outspoken national security advocate, a frequent visitor to American troops overseas, and a politician who could sometimes negotiate with colleagues across the aisle.

Before entering Congress, Graham served as an Air Force lawyer. He retired from the Air Force Reserve in 2015 at the rank of colonel after 33 years in uniform. Away from Washington’s cameras, his life had been shaped by an enormous family responsibility.

Graham lost both parents while he was in his early 20s and became the legal guardian of his younger sister, Darline Graham Nordone. A profile on Graham’s private life reported that the then-21-year-old college student helped raise his then-13-year-old sister while completing his education.

Graham never married and had no children. He once said, “I never found time to meet the right girl,” adding that “the right girl was smart enough not to have time” for him.

He is survived by Nordone and her family, which includes his nieces and nephews. Behind the image of the powerful senator was an older brother who had effectively become a parent almost overnight.

Friday, July 10: Graham Meets Zelenskyy in Kyiv

Only one day before the medical emergency, Graham was thousands of miles from Washington on July 10, 2026. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared footage from their meeting in Kyiv, showing Graham greeting him warmly and shaking his hand inside an ornate government room.

Zelenskyy described the visit as Graham’s 10th trip to Ukraine, thanking the senator and the United States for continuing to support the country.

The Ukrainian president said Graham had briefed him on work underway in Congress and that the pair discussed Ukraine’s air-defense needs. Zelenskyy also said agreements concerning the production of Patriot systems in Ukraine needed to be implemented.

At that moment, nothing in the footage suggested the grim events that would unfold after Graham returned to the United States. He looked engaged in conversation, standing face-to-face with Zelenskyy and continuing the kind of foreign-policy work that had defined much of his Senate career.

Graham’s Final Social Media Post

Later on July 10, Graham published what would become his last post on X. In the final message, the senator celebrated continued investment at Coast Guard Base Charleston.

“Great news to see the continued investment in Coast Guard Base Charleston!” he wrote. Graham said that, as chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, he had helped secure funding for the Coast Guard as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill.

The post highlighted a $230 million design-build contract for new operational support facilities at the base. It was an ordinary message about infrastructure and federal funding — with no hint that it would be his last public update.

Saturday Evening, July 11: Graham Makes a Call to the President

After returning from Ukraine, Graham called U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday evening, July 11. Trump later told NBC News about their last conversation, revealing that Graham appeared normal apart from one seemingly understandable complaint. “Other than being tired, he was fine,” Trump said.

Graham had just completed the lengthy journey back from Ukraine. According to Trump, the senator specifically acknowledged his exhaustion during their discussion. “He actually said he was tired, but he wanted to pass the SAVE America Act,” Trump recalled.

Trump said Graham remained focused on the proposed election legislation and was pushing for its passage. The president remembered telling him, “We’re going to get it done, Lindsey. We’re going to get it done. I’ll see you, like, soon.”

They reportedly believed they might see one another the following day. Graham had also been scheduled to appear on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that Sunday, July 12, to discuss his journey to Ukraine. Instead, the program would become one of the places where Trump publicly reflected on his friend’s final hours.

The president described Graham as “like a member of the family to me.” Their close relationship had grown from an especially rocky beginning.

Graham had once been one of Trump’s sharpest Republican critics, while both men competed during the 2016 presidential campaign. He later became one of the president’s most recognizable allies in the Senate.

Trump remembered Graham as a gifted political operator who could resolve problems with Democrats when others could not. “If I had a problem with a Democrat, he could work it out,” Trump said. “He was a great, he was a great politician, actually.”

Yet Trump also described him as a “tough cookie” who could become exceptionally determined when he believed he was right.

Their final call reportedly included Graham’s description of his overseas visit. In a separate CNN interview about the conversation, Trump said the senator told him he had experienced “a great trip.”

“He was telling me about the trip,” Trump recalled, adding that Graham was “full of vim and vigour.” Graham explained his fatigue by saying, “I’m tired because it’s a long trip.”

It sounded like the exhaustion of a 71-year-old man who had just completed an international journey. Only minutes later, however, the situation at his home reportedly changed dramatically.

Around 6:30 p.m.: The Timing That Stunned Trump

Trump said Graham called him at approximately 6:30 p.m. “He called me, I guess, just moments before, because he called me at 6:30 or something,” the president said. “The medical people got there a little bit later, right after that.”

That timing became one of the most haunting details surrounding Graham’s final night. The senator had apparently been discussing legislation, recounting his trip, and making plans for the immediate future. Nothing in the conversation alerted Trump to an impending emergency.

Trump said he learned of Graham’s death hours later. Because Graham had sounded fine during the call, the president concluded that whatever happened must have happened very quickly.

“It had to be something very quick because he was fine,” Trump said. “Other than being tired, he was fine.” Speaking about the suddenness of Graham’s death, Trump offered a blunt but emotional reflection. He described it as a “quick end, and maybe that’s not the worst way to go.”

Shortly After 8 p.m.: The Emergency Dispatch

The evening’s quiet political conversations were followed by an alarming emergency call. According to The Washington Post’s account of the response, emergency medical services received a call at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Saturday concerning someone experiencing chest pain at Graham’s Capitol Hill residence.

Responders rushed toward the property. However, the information they had received about getting inside reportedly did not match what they found when they arrived.

The Front-Door Problem

Emergency radio traffic indicated that dispatchers initially told responding units the front door was unlocked. Once first responders reached the house, however, they reportedly discovered that the door was locked, and no one inside appeared to answer them.

The EMS dispatch audio revealed that responders then requested officers from the Metropolitan Police Department to help them force their way into the property. It was a tense and potentially crucial complication: emergency crews had been sent to deal with a possible cardiac arrest, yet they could not immediately reach the person inside.

The audio did not identify Graham by name. It also offered few details about precisely what responders encountered once entry was made. Still, the sequence painted an unsettling picture — a call reporting a severe medical emergency, responders expecting an unlocked entrance and the door instead preventing immediate access.

CPR Begins Inside Graham’s Home

Roughly 20 to 25 minutes after the initial call, emergency personnel reported that CPR was in progress. The patient was described over the radio as a man in cardiac arrest. Crews worked to stabilize him before preparing to transport him from the house.

The timing means that Graham’s upbeat political conversation with Trump had taken place only a relatively short time before the frantic lifesaving effort. One moment, he was discussing Ukraine and legislation; the next known chapter involved emergency personnel fighting to keep him alive.

Additional radio traffic reportedly indicated that authorities regarded the incident as a “Capitol Police matter only.” That description did not by itself suggest anything suspicious. It reflected the involvement expected when an emergency concerns a sitting United States senator.

Neighbors See the Street Fill with Emergency Vehicles

While responders worked inside, residents noticed an extraordinary level of activity outside Graham’s home. “There were a couple of fire trucks, an ambulance, police, a bunch of people at the house,” one neighbor told CNN in its report from Graham’s Capitol Hill street.

The neighbor, who did not provide a name, said first responders eventually brought someone out on a gurney and left. Another witness, Florida resident Jerrett Wilson, was staying at a nearby Airbnb. He said he and others returned at around 9:30 p.m. and found the street shut down.

“We were actually standing out here when they were rolling the gurney out and putting him in the ambulance,” Wilson recalled. At the time, Wilson said he did not realize the patient was Graham. He described the responders as “basically, taking their time loading him.”

Neighbor Aaron Gulbransen, who stated that he had lived a few doors down from the late senator for less than four months, said he did not learn that Graham had died until Sunday morning, July 12. “Obviously it’s a very sad day,” he said. “I’ve always had great admiration for Sen. Graham.”

Gulbransen remembered Graham as friendly whenever they crossed paths. “He was always very nice. Very friendly, very nice, he waved, said hello,” he recalled.

Other neighbors described Graham as private and frequently away from Washington. One called him “a quiet guy who was hardly ever here,” while another said he was “very careful about his privacy.”

Around 9:30 p.m.: Graham Is Taken from the House

At approximately 9:30 p.m., witnesses saw a man being wheeled from the residence and placed into an ambulance. Photos published by TMZ showed Graham being transported from his home while surrounded by emergency medical personnel.

The outlet reported that paramedics were administering medical assistance as they moved him. The images appeared to show that Graham had been intubated and captured the devastating final stage of the response outside the home.

Medical privacy rules prevented D.C. Fire and EMS officials from releasing detailed information about the treatment provided during the journey to the hospital. Graham was transported to George Washington University Hospital.

10:23 p.m.: Graham Is Pronounced Dead

Officials later confirmed that Graham was pronounced dead at 10:23 p.m. on Saturday, July 11. His office announced that the senator had died following what it called a “brief and sudden” illness.

“On the evening of Saturday, July 11, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham passed away from a brief and sudden illness,” the statement read. “Senator Graham’s family appreciates prayers at this time and asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult period.”

The announcement stunned political figures in Washington and abroad. Only a day earlier, Graham had been meeting with world leaders, speaking about international security and preparing to return to the Sunday television circuit.

Why the FBI Is Now Involved

The presence of federal investigators inevitably raises questions, particularly given Graham’s position and the unusual public interest surrounding the emergency response. However, officials said the FBI’s involvement is part of the normal process and that there is no indication of foul play at this time.

report on the FBI’s assistance said the agency is supporting the Metropolitan Police Department. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the assistance and paid tribute to Graham in a public statement.

“Senator Lindsey Graham was a devoted public servant, a fierce defender of our nation, and a true patriot who dedicated his life to the people of South Carolina and the United States,” Patel said. “Our prayers are with his family, loved ones, colleagues, and all those who knew him during this devastating time.”

The Preliminary Medical Findings

On Sunday, the District of Columbia’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner released its first findings about what may have caused Graham’s sudden collapse.

According to the medical examiner’s preliminary conclusion, Graham suffered an aortic dissection due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

An aortic dissection occurs when a tear develops in the inner layer of the aorta, the body’s largest artery. Blood can then move between the layers of the vessel wall, potentially causing catastrophic internal bleeding or damage to vital organs.

It is considered a life-threatening emergency that can develop with devastating speed. Arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease involves thickening or plaque buildup within the arteries, which may restrict blood flow and contribute to serious cardiovascular complications.

An autopsy was performed on Sunday, but officials stressed that the findings are not yet final. Graham’s death certificate remains pending while toxicological and microscopic examinations are completed. Officials explained that those tests are routinely conducted following an autopsy in the District.

A Final Conversation That Sounded Almost Ordinary

In retrospect, the most haunting part of the timeline may be how ordinary Graham’s conversation with Trump initially sounded. He was tired, but he had an obvious explanation: he had just returned from a lengthy journey to Ukraine.

He spoke about a successful trip; he pushed for legislation, discussed future plans, and apparently expected to see Trump again soon. There was no final farewell and no apparent recognition that something was gravely wrong.

Hours later, the street outside his home was crowded with fire trucks, police officers, and an ambulance. Inside, responders were administering CPR after struggling to gain entry through a door they had been told would be unlocked.

Graham’s final days reflected the life he had built — overseas diplomacy, national-security debates, political dealmaking and a direct line to the president.

But his final hours narrowed suddenly from the world stage to a locked Capitol Hill home, a frantic emergency response, and one last phone call in which he admitted only that he was tired.

At this time, we wish to extend our most heartfelt condolences to Graham’s entire family, loved ones, friends, colleagues, community, and all who knew and loved him as they mourn such a significant loss. We hope for their healing amid their time of grief. RIP, dear Lindsey Graham.

Donald Trump Makes a Surprise Move at Turkey Airport Amid Reports of a Threat Against Him – Video & Details

New reporting has filled in the gaps of a seemingly routine departure, which is being viewed through a very different lens.

Donald Trump made what looked like a perfectly ordinary departure from Turkey, but what reportedly happened after he disappeared from the cameras was anything but routine.

Footage from Ankara airport is now giving a much clearer look at the remarkable operation that allegedly unfolded behind the scenes.

Trump had said during the Ankara summit that he was Iran's "number one target," amid reports of a credible threat against him. The security concerns would soon lead to an extraordinary departure plan. | Source: Getty Images

The president had been in Ankara for a NATO summit in July 2026, and his departure initially appeared straightforward. Trump was filmed boarding the older Air Force One on July 8, with television cameras capturing him entering the aircraft before takeoff.

But according to a detailed BBC News reportTrump reportedly never left Turkey aboard that plane. Instead, the public boarding was allegedly the first stage of an elaborate security maneuver prompted by intelligence about a possible Iranian threat against the president and his aircraft.

The BBC reported that U.S. officials told CBS News that authorities had detected what was considered a credible Iranian threat to fire a missile at the planeThe White House, however, has not formally confirmed that the reported secret aircraft switch took place.

Trump had already spoken publicly about the danger he believed he faced, saying during the summit that he was Iran’s “number one target.” The reported maneuver also came one day after the U.S. renewed military strikes on Iran following a breakdown in negotiations between Washington and Tehran aimed at ending the war.

There was another unusual wrinkle to Trump’s travel plans even before the airport operation. He had arrived in Turkey aboard the newer Boeing 747-8 donated by Qatar but announced that he would depart aboard the older presidential jet “for old time’s sake.” Then came the part that was apparently hidden from almost everyone watching.

A Catering Truck May Have Been the Key to the Entire Operation

After Trump boarded the old Air Force One in view of cameras, he was reportedly moved out of the aircraft on its far side with the assistance of a catering truck that could be raised to the level of the plane.

The vehicle then traveled across the airport to a nearby C-32A, a modified Boeing 757 commonly used for government travel and often associated with the vice president. That catering truck appears to have been the key to the entire operation.

After reaching the UK, Trump later reboarded the older Air Force One before eventually transferring to the newer Qatari-donated jet for the trip back to Washington. Exactly how some of those aircraft transfers were carried out remains unclear. | Source: Getty Images

BBC graphic reconstructing the reported maneuver shows the catering truck positioned on the opposite side of Air Force One from the area where members of the media were boarding. It then shows the truck moving away toward the nearby C-32A, whose external stairs could be seen on the tarmac.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reportedly boarded that smaller aircraft separately using the outside stairs, which, according to the report, helped make the flight appear routine.

Meanwhile, journalists and some White House staff were still aboard the old Air Force One, and apparently had no idea that Trump was no longer traveling with them.

Reporters later questioned Trump about why window shades had been ordered closed during the flight from Turkey. He replied that they were "probably on a dangerous flight" because of the people the U.S. had to deal with. | Source: Getty Images

They were reportedly instructed to keep the aircraft’s window shades closed. A White House pool producer later described the request as one of the strange moments of the flight. According to the BBC account, when a photographer briefly opened a shade, the photographer was quickly instructed to shut it again and was told that the order had come at the request of the Secret Service.

That same producer also recalled seeing what appeared to be two catering trucks, one near the front and another near the back of the aircraft, when members of the press arrived.

Their van had reportedly been positioned too far back in the airport motorcade for journalists to get their own clear photograph of Trump boarding — another detail that, in hindsight, has attracted attention.

The operation reportedly relied on maintaining the appearance that Trump was traveling as planned. Even the aircraft carrying the press continued using the "AF1" call sign while Trump's actual plane reportedly flew as "Reach 18." | Source: Getty Images

Even the Plane’s Call Sign Was Part of the Ruse

Even the aircraft call signs reportedly helped maintain the illusion. Technically, “Air Force One” is the call sign assigned to any U.S. Air Force aircraft while the president is actually aboard. But during this operation, the C-32A reportedly carrying Trump used the call sign “Reach 18,” while the aircraft carrying journalists continued operating as “AF1.”

That meant anyone following the presidential flight could reasonably have believed Trump remained aboard the familiar jet.

The Airport Videos Make the Story Even More Striking

Video footage from the airport has now made the sequence even more fascinating. CBS News shared footage showing the catering truck pulling away from Air Force One after Trump had boarded and traveling toward the second government aircraft that ultimately carried the president out of Ankara.

Another widely shared post on X zoomed in on the same operation and described the scene in much more cinematic terms. “This is a JAMES BOND-style mission,” the post declared.

Trump Then Flew Out on a Different Aircraft

Trump then reportedly flew to the United Kingdom aboard the C-32A while the old Air Force One continued with the journalists and staff. Once in the UK, however, the operation apparently became even more complicated.

The president later reboarded the old Air Force One and was publicly seen descending from it after the aircraft landed at RAF Mildenhall, creating the appearance of an ordinary presidential journey. Exactly how he was transferred from the C-32A back to the legacy aircraft has not been made clear.

He subsequently switched again, transferring to the newer, Qatari-donated Boeing 747-8 for the flight back to Washington.

Then Trump Gave Reporters a Remark They Won’t Soon Forget

It was during that later flight that reporters finally got a tantalizing comment from Trump about what had happened. He did not directly explain the secret plane switch, but when journalists asked why they had been told to keep the window shades lowered during the flight from Turkey, his response was striking. Reportedly, Trump said:

“Because you’re probably on a dangerous flight because of the sleazebags we have to deal with.”

He then said he faced a “threat all the time” and repeated that he was “number one” on Iran’s alleged list. Trump then added, “But if I go, you go, right?” “Perhaps someday you want to change professions.”

Security Concerns Had Reportedly Been Building Before the Trip

The apparent security concerns surrounding the trip were not entirely new. According to the BBC, U.S. intelligence had previously warned of a specific threat involving an attack on Trump or his aircraft.

The New York Times had also previously reported concerns surrounding the Qatari-donated jet, including that the Secret Service had urged Trump to switch aircraft on his way home from the NATO summit.

Several New York Times journalists were later summoned to testify under oath in connection with that reporting, while the Justice Department told the BBC it was investigating illegal leaks.

Questions Remain over the New Presidential Jet’s Defenses

Questions also remain about the defensive capabilities of the president’s different aircraft. The United States has spent months retrofitting the approximately $400 million Qatari-donated Boeing 747-8 for presidential use.

Older Air Force One aircraft have technology designed to help defeat incoming missiles, sources told CBS News, while the exact systems aboard the newer aircraft have not been publicly detailed.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told CBS News that the new Air Force One was “perfectly safe for the president’s travels” and said it would receive further upgrades and enhancements in the fall, with the additional work expected to take about a month.

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung, meanwhile, did not directly confirm or deny the reported Turkey operation. He said the new Air Force One was a “state-of-the-art aircraft” equipped with security measures intended to protect the president and his staff.

But What About Everyone Left on the Apparent Decoy?

Another issue quickly emerged from the episode: what about everyone who remained aboard the apparent decoy aircraft?

Jose Zamora, regional director for the Americas at the Committee to Protect Journalists, said the administration had a responsibility to ensure that journalists covering the president were not unnecessarily exposed to danger.

He also argued that reporters should be informed about credible security threats so they can make their own informed decisions regarding their safety.

Senate Democrats Are Now Demanding Answers

Now, lawmakers are demanding answers as well. According to NBC News, Senate Democrats have called for a briefing.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said, “The Senate should be immediately briefed on the Iranian threats against the President, the extraordinary measures taken to get him out of Turkey, any risks posed to U.S. personnel, and any threat to the homeland.”

Schumer added that it was “unacceptable that Congress was kept in the dark” and learned about the reported operation through news coverage.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal was similarly alarmed, focusing in particular on the people who remained aboard the original aircraft. “There has to be a congressional briefing because it involves not just the safety of the president,” Blumenthal said, according to the report.

“I want to know what precautions were taken to make sure that all of the passengers on that Air Force One, which was judged too dangerous for the president to fly on, what precautions were taken to keep the staff and reporters on that plane safe.”

The original reporting on the secret flight and the alleged use of Air Force One as a decoy was detailed by The Washington Post, helping bring the previously hidden operation into public view. Blumenthal went even further during an appearance on CNN with Kaitlan Collins.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal called the reported circumstances "downright scary," "unprecedented" and "surreal." He also pressed for answers about what precautions were taken to protect the staff and journalists who remained aboard the apparent decoy aircraft. | Source: Getty Images

As Newsweek reported, the Democratic senator described the circumstances surrounding the reported aircraft switch as “downright scary.” He also called the situation “unprecedented” and “surreal,” arguing that the war involving Iran had made the president, U.S. troops, Persian Gulf allies, and the wider world less safe.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO’s love story was never quiet, never simple, and never built to look perfect. A Divorce Filing Turns a Famous Love Story Into a Mystery

According to TMZ, Jelly Roll filed for divorce from Bunnie in May in Tennessee. Sources told the outlet that the divorce is “a mutual decision by the two and a private family matter.”

Still, that calm explanation did not stop the internet from spiraling. The report immediately stood out because Jelly Roll and Bunnie had long been one of those celebrity couples who made fans believe in messy, complicated, against-the-odds love.

They met in 2015, before Jelly Roll became a mainstream star. The relationship reportedly only turned romantic the following year, and the two married in August 2016. But from the beginning, their story had twists.

Bunnie, who had previously worked in the sex industry, left that industry in 2023, years after marrying the singer. Adding another layer to their complex story is the fact that one week before their wedding, Jelly Roll welcomed a son with another woman.

For some couples, details like that might have stayed hidden forever. For Jelly Roll and Bunnie, they eventually became part of the public story — a story about chaos, forgiveness, blended family, and two people who repeatedly chose each other.

Fans Quickly Started Reading Between the Lines

Once the divorce news spread, fans did what fans do best: they started looking for clues. Many immediately connected the split to Jelly Roll’s weight loss, his changing public image, and old conversations about trust.

Underneath a Facebook post about the news, one person wrote, “This is what happens when a partner loses a lot of weight . Their self confidence soars and they don’t know how to handle the attention they receive that they’ve never had before. They feel wanted and desired by totally strangers rather than the partner who was with them all along [sic].”

Another commenter quipped, “Let me guess, ‘He’s changed. He’s not half the man he used to be.'” Meanwhile, others were much more direct. One person opined, “I bet he cheated. 🗑️.” Another reiterated, “He cheated it’s [sic] simple 🤷🏼‍♀️.”

The speculation continued on another Facebook post about the reported split, where one user commented, “So basically he got fit and is gonna look for a younger model.”

Another person speculated, “Looses all that weight and boom wants something new other the the person that was with you through it all. But we all don’t know what it’s like behind closed doors. But I’m sure the cheating don’t help [sic].”

A third person took a softer but still telling approach, “Yep, had a hunch.. people change, both got more successful in their own ways.. best wishes to both.. happens.”

Those comments show exactly where the public conversation went first. Fans are not just reacting to a divorce headline; they are reacting to years of backstory.

Their Marriage Had Already Survived More than Most Fans Knew

Bunnie XO’s memoir“Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic,” revealed just how complicated the couple’s relationship had been behind the scenes.

In a report about the memoir’s revelations, Bunnie was described as opening up about everything from their first meeting to sex, marriage, parenting, infidelity, separation, and fertility struggles. She even explained that cheating was included in the book not to punish Jelly Roll, but to show how hard they had worked to stay together.

Bunnie wrote that some people might judge her for staying, but she did not see herself as weak, nor did she see him as a horrible person. Instead, she framed their early marriage as two people who fell in love without knowing how to keep love healthy.

She described them as two strangers who rushed to the altar in 2016, became parents to a traumatized seven-year-old in 2017, and got fully sober in 2018. That is a lot of life in a very short amount of time.

Before Jelly Roll, Bunnie Had Already Survived a Lot

Bunnie’s story did not begin with Jelly Roll. In a December 2019 Facebook post about aging and refusing to conform, she said she would be turning 40 on January 22 of that year and joked that she would one day be a “hot [expletive] grandma.”

She also said she would never conform to society’s standards or let age make her feel small. That same no-apologies energy has been part of her brand for years. During a 2022 interview with Sofia Franklyn, Bunnie said she was born in Houston and grew up in Las Vegas after her family moved there when she was around five.

She described her father as a musician and said her early childhood had a wild rock-and-roll atmosphere. Then, when she was about 12, her family made a hard turn into strict Pentecostal religion. Bunnie said she was no longer allowed to listen to secular music or watch movies above a G rating.

She also described her dad as having been an alcoholic and an alleged cheater and divulged how she had an abusive stepmother.

Additionally, she said she left home at 14. That background matters because it helps explain why so many fans see Bunnie as more than a celebrity wife. She has built her image around survival, reinvention, blunt honesty, and refusing to be shamed.

Bunnie and Jelly Roll’s First Connection Was Messy, Magnetic, and Not Instantly Romantic

In her memoir, Bunnie recalled meeting Jelly Roll in 2015 while she was still with an abusive ex she referred to as Karma. She admitted Jelly Roll “was not” her usual type, but something about him intrigued her. After her ex went to prison, she and Jelly Roll reconnected.

Bunnie remembered him calling her while she sometimes had another man in bed nearby. She would leave the room to take his call, and he would ask questions about his daughter. Those conversations about fatherhood caught her attention.

At the time, Jelly Roll had gotten full custody of his daughter Bailee, and Bunnie said she loved hearing him talk about trying to be a better dad. Still, the romance did not begin with a perfect fairytale setup… It began with two people carrying heavy histories, drawn together in a way neither of them seemed fully prepared for.

The Night He Said No Became One of Their Most Revealing Stories

One of the more unexpected moments Bunnie described involved Jelly Roll refusing to sleep with her early in their relationship. She wrote that she stripped naked and called him into her room, but instead of jumping into bed with her, he held back.

According to Bunnie, he told her they were friends and said he did not want them to regret anything in the morning. He also talked to her about his five-year plan. It was funny, awkward, and surprisingly tender.

That moment became part of the lore around them because it showed that even in a relationship known for wildness, there was also hesitation, fear, and a desire not to ruin something meaningful.

The Road, Her Work, and Their Unconventional Rules

Once they officially started dating, Jelly Roll invited Bunnie to travel with him. Bunnie agreed, but only if she could continue meeting clients as part of her career as a sex worker. In the memoir, she described boundaries around that arrangement, including that overnights were off limits.

She also later wrote about the couple’s unusual views on monogamy. Bunnie said Jelly Roll had been used to having multiple relationships with different women before her.

She explained that they both initially frowned upon traditional monogamy, but she drew a hard line around honesty. To Bunnie, the issue was not simply attraction or freedom; it was lying. That is why the cheating history remains such a sensitive part of how fans are now interpreting the divorce.

A Vegas Wedding, Morning-After Doubts, and the Start of a Hard Marriage

Their 2016 wedding was pure Vegas chaos. Bunnie described the ceremony as involving a chapel, substances, and the couple listening to wedding-ready music before saying “I do.”

She also admitted Jelly Roll had specifically asked her not to do cocaine before the wedding, but she still described herself as in that state. The morning after, she woke up hungover and had her first married fight with him. The fight started after she admitted she thought the wedding may have been a mistake.

It is a startling detail now, given that the pair later turned that spontaneous chapel wedding into one of the most romantic parts of their public love story.

Years later, Jelly Roll shared a reel from their vow renewal and said they had returned to the same little Las Vegas chapel seven years after stumbling into it the first time. He wrote that his only regret from their original wedding night was never seeing her in a dress.

He also promised he planned to give her the life she deserved and called her his anchor. At the time, it read like a love letter. Now, it reads like a heartbreaking reminder of how much they tried to rewrite the rough beginning.

Bailee’s Rescue Changed the Marriage Overnight

One of the most emotional parts of Bunnie’s memoir involved Jelly Roll’s daughter, Bailee. Bunnie described how Jelly Roll got custody after discovering the conditions Bailee had been living in.

The child, then seven, had reportedly been caring for other children, had no room of her own, was living around a registered sex offender, and was not regularly seeing her biological mother. Bunnie also wrote that Bailee was malnourished.

That became especially serious when Bailee needed her tonsils removed and suffered complications because her tissues would not clot properly. Suddenly, Bunnie was not just in a new marriage; she was in a marriage with a deeply traumatized child who needed stability, care, and protection.

Bunnie and Jelly Roll’s First Breakup Came When She Felt She Could Not Carry It All

After Bailee’s surgery, Bunnie said she became overwhelmed. She wrote that she could not handle being a mom and a wife while also fighting for her place in Jelly Roll’s life and navigating early sobriety. So she moved out.

In hindsight, she described that moment as abandoning her family, even though she now says she knows she never would again. That confession gave fans one of the clearest looks at how heavy their life together had become.

This was not a couple dealing only with fame, attraction, and tabloids. They were also dealing with trauma, parenting, sobriety, and pressure from people around them.

Then Came the Infidelity That Fans Still Bring Up

Bunnie and Jelly Roll eventually reunited and moved into a home in Las Vegas. But the marriage hit another painful chapter when Jelly Roll moved back to Nashville without telling her. Bunnie wrote that he was talking to his ex behind her back.

Even so, she went to Nashville to try to save the marriage. The situation became one of the central wounds in their relationship. Bunnie later wrote that Jelly Roll continued to have flings and contact with exes, and that at one point she nearly took her own life before changing her mind.

The couple considered a three-month separation and planned to announce their split. Instead, they found their way back to each other. But Bunnie admitted it would take years to put the affair aside.

Jelly Roll Later Said the Affair Was One of His Worst Adult Moments

Jelly Roll also addressed the cheating himself in October 2025 on the “Human School Podcast.” He said he does not usually discuss the topic publicly, then described having the affair as one of the worst moments of his adulthood. He said it made him feel like he really could not “get this right” even though he knew he loved Bunnie.

The “Son of a Sinner” musician also said he did a lot of work to repair the relationship. At the time, he said the repair had been special and that he believed they were stronger than ever.

The filing comes after a major personal transformation that fans have been openly linking to the split. Online, commenters quickly began speculating about whether fame, confidence, and a changing lifestyle played a role. | Source: Instagram/jellyroll615

He added that although he wished their story had never included an affair, he was proud of who they had become. That makes the timing of this divorce news feel even more dramatic. Less than a year before the report, Jelly Roll was publicly describing the affair as something they had survived.

His Son’s Timeline Was Another Painful Detail Bunnie Tried to Clarify

Bunnie also used her memoir to explain confusion around Jelly Roll’s son, Noah. She wrote that before her, Jelly Roll had been involved with multiple women over many years.

Before me, J was a player […] One of them was an off-and-on again relationship that resulted in a son together. This woman gave birth to his son a week before we were married,” she penned.

Bunnie said Noah’s mother was already eight or nine months pregnant when she and Jelly Roll decided to be together. She also made it clear that while the relationship with Noah’s mother was difficult at first, it had grown into something respectful.

In July 2023, Bunnie publicly introduced Noah’s mother, Melisa, in a Facebook post about their blended family. She called Melisa “one stand up [sic] chick” and said the family could not imagine life without her. Bunnie also praised Melisa for holding things down for Noah while she and Jelly Roll were on the road.

It was a rare public embrace of a complicated family setup. And it showed how hard Bunnie had worked to make peace with the pieces of Jelly Roll’s life that existed before and alongside their marriage.

Publicly, Jelly Roll Often Made Bunnie Sound like His Saving Grace

For all the messiness, Jelly Roll frequently posted about Bunnie with deep affection. In one July 2023 tribute, he called it a “Bunnie appreciation post” and said he had never been more moved by anyone’s story than hers. He praised what she had overcome and said she had supported him through one of the darkest times of his life.

According to Jelly Roll, Bunnie did not want to be known only as his wife; she wanted to build her own empire, empower women, and share her story in a way that could motivate others. That post is one reason the divorce news feels so strange to longtime fans.

The public version of their relationship was not just romantic; it was full of gratitude, admiration, and a sense that they had both helped each other become better.

Their Baby Dreams Make the Split News Feel Even More Sudden

Another emotional layer is the couple’s fertility journey. In February 2026, Bunnie told People that IVF had been one of the hardest things she had ever gone through. She said she believed her past pain and current fertility journey might allow her to become a voice for women facing similar struggles.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Address the Topic of Divorce on Their Show Following Her Absence – Video

What started as a lighthearted conversation quickly produced a line that sounded far more dramatic out of context, and the reaction online shows just how closely fans are listening.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have been married for decades, but their latest on-air conversation suddenly took a turn toward divorce — and even a “loveless marriage.”

The eyebrow-raising moment happened during a recent episode of “Live with Kelly and Mark,” not long after Ripa returned following an absence from the daytime show. In a clip shared on Instagram, the couple began discussing what would happen to their pets in the event of a divorce.

“How do we fight over pets in a divorce?” Ripa asked. Consuelos responded, “I mean, listen. Let’s just put it this way, I would stay in a loveless marriage just to make sure I could be with Lena every day.

“That’s how much I love Lena,” he added. Ripa, however, was ready with a comeback of her own: “Is that all you’re asking for, is [sic] a loveless marriage? Cause that can be arranged.” And that is where the context changes everything.

One viewer reacted to the couple's divorce banter by insisting that Mark "would never divorce her" and crediting Kelly with supporting the lifestyle they share. The comment was among the more pointed responses sparked by the exchange online. | Source: Instagram/pagesix

Ripa’s Response Reveals What Was Really Going On

The two were very clearly joking, with laughter accompanying the exchange — meaning viewers witnessing the full clip were not watching the couple make some solemn announcement about the state of their marriage.

Instead, it was another example of the teasing, marital humor that regularly makes its way into their conversations on the show. Still, the wording was apparently enough to get people talking online.

The couple have joked publicly about marriage and divorce before, including a 2025 "Live" segment in which Ripa quipped that most marriages end in "homicide" before immediately clarifying that she was kidding. One viewer wrote, “Let’s be real. Mark is living his best life because of Kelly. She is the breadwinner. She is the reason why he lives the lifestyle he lives. he cant act. He would never divorce her. And her fake laughing on tv is exhausting [sic].”

Another commenter responded, “truer words have never been spoken out loud. what keeps a marriage going…..seriously, let’s talk [sic]!”

The Lighthearted Exchange Came After Ripa’s Unexpected Absence

The exchange also comes shortly after Ripa had a very real reason for temporarily disappearing from her usual seat beside her husband. As People reported in July 2026, Ripa was recovering after undergoing gum graft surgery, leaving Consuelos to explain her absence at the beginning of a July 27 episode.

“Kelly sends her love,” Consuelos said while welcoming guest Co-Host Kevin Jonas. “Kelly had a little bit — well, it’s not a little — she had a gum graft surgery.”

gum graft procedure, according to Cleveland Clinic, can be used to treat gum recession by placing healthy tissue over areas where the gums have become thin or receded. The procedure can protect exposed tooth roots, help with sensitivity, and prevent additional recession.

Consuelos explained that Ripa had actually been advised years earlier that she would eventually need the procedure. “Her dentist said five years ago, ‘You can do it in about five years,'” he recalled. “And she joked, ‘I didn’t think I’d still be on the air in five years!'”

Although Consuelos said his wife was “doing well” and “doing great,” her recovery came with one particularly difficult rule for a professional talk-show host: she was not supposed to talk. “Wow. That’s got to be the hardest thing she’s ever done,” Jonas joked.

Consuelos laughed and called Ripa “such a great conversationalist,” while explaining that he had been trying to make sure she followed her dentist’s recovery instructions. Those included eating soft foods, avoiding straws and resisting the temptation to inspect the area where the surgery was performed.

Consuelos Reveals Just How Painful His Wife’s Recovery Was

That last instruction apparently proved especially challenging. Consuelos recalled Ripa asking him, “Can you look?” He said he answered, “I’m not pulling your lip down,” before describing how she repositioned herself so he could take a look without disturbing the surgical area.

“So I’m down there like, ‘It looks great!'” he shared. When asked whether Ripa had been in pain, Consuelos acknowledged that she had. “But she famously doesn’t feel pain. When she goes into [sic] the dentist, she doesn’t use the novocaine. But this one hurts, so I know it’s bad,” he added.

Jonas then compared Ripa’s high pain tolerance to that of his own wife, Danielle. “I’ll be like, ‘Are you in pain?’ She’s like, ‘I’m fine!’ Come to find out her foot’s, like, falling off,” he joked.

“Well, they do have kids. They deliver kids,” Consuelos responded. “We’re not built for that.” So after a recovery period that temporarily kept Ripa — rather unusually — from talking, she was back alongside Consuelos and apparently more than ready to resume their signature back-and-forth.

The Recent Jokes the Couple Made Weren’t the First Time Divorce Has Become a Punchline

And divorce humor, as it turns out, is not entirely new territory for the pair. Entertainment Weekly reported in September 2025 that Ripa previously startled Consuelos while discussing statistics about falling divorce rates during an episode of “Live.”

Ripa began by saying that “everything we think we know about divorce is wrong” and referenced the familiar claim that “50 percent of marriages end in divorce.” Then came her rather darker punchline. “That’s not true,” Ripa said. “Most marriages [don’t] end in divorce, [sic] they end in homicide!”

Consuelos said his wife was feeling better and receiving supportive messages from viewers and friends. He also shared that ice cream had been delivered to help her cope while following a soft-food diet. | Source: Getty Images

The audience reacted audibly, while Consuelos reportedly gave his wife a concerned look. “Okay, I’m kidding!” Ripa quickly clarified. “These are the jokes, [sic] it’s a free show!” She went on to discuss research suggesting divorce rates in the United States had been declining since the 1980s, while also observing that marriage itself had become less common.

“So maybe there’s a correlation. There’s not as many divorces because there’s not as many marriages [sic],” Ripa said. She also suggested that people marrying later — when they may be older, more financially secure and more established — could contribute to stronger marriages.

Against that backdrop, the latest “loveless marriage” exchange looks much less like a sudden relationship revelation and much more like another chapter in the couple’s long-running habit of turning marriage itself into material.

Ripa and Consuelos have never shied away from discussing uncomfortable medical experiences on air. Her latest procedure, however, prompted him to admit that the pain appeared unusually severe for someone with such a high tolerance. | Source: Getty Images

Lindsey Graham’s Sister Breaks Her Silence, Trump Recalls His ‘One Bad Moment,’ and His Estate Raises New Questions

The sudden passing of Senator Lindsey Graham has sparked a massive political shakeup in South Carolina. While power players scramble, an unexpected family twist is taking center stage.

The lifelong bachelor spent over three decades in Washington’s elite circles before his sudden medical emergency this weekend. His departure leaves a massive power vacuum and plenty of chatter about what comes next.

While ambitious local politicians are already drawing battle lines, a surprising update about his personal estate has turned heads. Even more unexpected is the familiar face stepping up to carry on his legacy.

On February 13, 2026, just five months before his passing, Senator Lindsey Graham spoke at a Townhall panel on the future of Iran at the 62nd Munich Security Conference in Munich, Germany. Now following his demise, President Donald Trump has weighed in with a surprising recommendation for who should fill his seat. | Source: Getty Images

A Sudden Medical Emergency Shakes Capitol Hill

The veteran lawmaker passed away on Saturday night, July 11, 2026, just two days after his 71st birthday. He had recently returned from a high-stakes diplomatic trip to Kyiv before collapsing at his home.

Emergency officials rushed to his Capitol Hill home around 8:30 p.m. following reports of severe chest pains. Medics frantically performed CPR at the scene, but he was later pronounced dead.

Preliminary medical examiner findings showed he suffered an aortic dissection, a tear in his aorta brought on by chronic heart disease. The condition was linked to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, which causes a dangerous hardening of the arteries.

His family had a known history of cardiac issues. His father, Florence James Graham, had also died from a sudden heart attack in his late 60s.

Hours before his death, Graham spoke on the phone with Donald Trump around 7:00 p.m. Trump noted that the senator sounded great, though he was a little bit tired.

Trump ordered national flags to fly at half-staff until next Saturday evening to honor his memory. He described the long-serving South Carolina Republican as a true member of his own family.

Just before his passing on Friday, Graham had finalized a major agreement with the Trump administration regarding a package of Russia sanctions. He was also scheduled to appear on NBC’s Meet the Press the following morning.

The foreign policy hawk was the fourth-longest-serving senator in South Carolina’s history. He follows behind GOP Sen. Strom Thurmond and Democratic Sens. Ellison Smith and Fritz Hollings.

Graham is the first senator to die as an incumbent since former Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s death in 2023 at 90. His sudden departure leaves a major void in the Senate, where seniority determines influence.

Rising From Small-Town Tavern Roots

Long before he became a Washington titan, Graham came from incredibly humble, blue-collar roots. He grew up in the small town of Central, South Carolina, where his parents operated a local bar, liquor store, and pool hall.

The family lived in a tiny room directly behind the tavern, known as the Sanitary Cafe. They shared a single bathroom with local mill workers who stopped by after their shifts.

Young Lindsey took baths using water heated up on the kitchen stove to keep clean. By the age of 12, he was already working downstairs, racking tables for pool players to help with financial struggles.

He helped stock ice buckets with Pabst Blue Ribbon beers for the regulars at the bar. He also kept a few Budweisers and Millers on hand for what he called the free thinkers.

The regulars gave him the nickname Stinkball because he would occasionally sneak swigs of their beers. He would also take quick puffs of their left-behind cigarettes when his parents weren’t looking.

The bar operated during a heavily segregated era in the American South. Black customers were expected to drink their beverages completely off the premises after purchasing them from the family.

His father later desegregated the tavern in the early 1970s, causing white customers to flee instantly. However, his father refused to tolerate racial hostility and once knocked a white customer unconscious for using slurs.

Despite the rough environment, Graham lived a normal childhood filled with Little League, Cub Scouts, and rabbit hunting. He even brought pigs’ feet to school to make his classmates envious.

He was not a star student, earning average grades and scoring an 800 on his SAT. His classmates openly laughed when he blurted out to his teacher that he wanted to be the governor one day.

He played four sports but suffered an embarrassing football blunder as a backup holder. He fumbled a snap, threw a random pass that scored, but the local newspaper mistakenly credited the quarterback instead.

His luck didn’t improve in law school, where he lived in highly disorderly apartments. During one date, his girlfriend Debbie accidentally sat on a stray peanut butter sandwich that stuck to her posterior and became campus gossip.

According to his official congressional biography, Graham became the first person in his extended family to attend college. He earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of South Carolina.

He then compiled a distinguished 33-year military career, starting with over six years of active duty. From 1984 to 1988, he served overseas as an Air Force lawyer at Rhein-Main Air Force Base in Germany.

He later joined the South Carolina Air National Guard and served stateside as a Staff Judge Advocate during the first Gulf War. He eventually joined the Air Force Reserves, deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan during congressional breaks before retiring as a Colonel in 2015.

His political rise began in 1994 when he was elected to the House of Representatives as the first Republican from his district since 1877. He moved to the Senate in 2002 and became a legendary foreign policy hawk, entitlement reformer, and budget chairman.

The Reality of a High-Profile Bachelor Lifestyle

When entering the crowded Republican primary field for his 2016 presidential bid, his bachelor status became a massive topic. If elected, he would have been the first single president since Grover Cleveland.

Because he achieved all of his success without ever marrying, his private life became a political target. In 2014, a primary challenger openly labeled the rising politician as “ambiguously gay.”

The rumors resurfaced in 2018 when comedian Chelsea Handler posted a series of crude tweets aiming to out him. She questioned his motives for supporting Brett Kavanaugh and openly asked what kind of videotape people held over him.

Handler refused to delete the remarks despite facing intense public backlash for using homophobia as an attack. Graham chose to address the internet drama directly during a casual airport interview with TMZ.

He calmly stated that he was not gay, while maintaining that it was a free country and Handler had the right to speak. He shrugged off the comments with his signature measured composure.

The reality of his love life was far different than the internet rumors suggested. In his candid autobiography, Graham revealed that he had two major romances during his twenties in Europe.

He first dated a fellow military lawyer named Carol while stationed abroad. They had a wonderful time together, though she later married and joined Colin Powell’s staff after their tours ended.

His most serious relationship was with a beautiful Lufthansa flight attendant named Sylvia. The romance moved incredibly fast, and he intensely considered proposing marriage to her.

However, Sylvia had to return to Vienna due to pressing family considerations. Graham was a South Carolina boy who felt a strong pull to return home, ending their romance before a ring could be bought.

He later attributed his bachelorhood to poor timing throughout his political career. He noted that the right opportunity simply never presented itself at the exact right moment for him to settle down.

Donald Trump Reflects on a Brief Friction

As Washington remembers his legacy, Donald Trump has drawn attention by reflecting on their complex political partnership. On Monday, the president publicly claimed that Graham had just one bad moment during their years together.

“He had one bad moment, and that was on the Jan. 6 thing when he stood up [and said], ‘All right, now I’ve had it. That’s it. I can’t do it anymore,'” Trump told Fox & Friends during a phone interview.

Trump claimed that Graham called him about 40 minutes later, asking, “Did I really say that? I can’t believe it,” and took it back.

The late senator had appeared to turn his back on Trump after supporters stormed the Capitol, delaying the official count of Joe Biden’s 2020 Electoral College victory.

“Trump and I, we’ve had a hell of a journey. I hate it to end this way. Oh my God, I hate it. From my point of view, he’s been a consequential president,” Graham said on the Senate floor after order was restored. “All I can say is count me out. Enough is enough. I tried to be helpful.”

By May of that year, however, Graham was publicly back in the future president’s corner. He told reporters that Republicans could not move forward or grow without Trump.

Because of that brief break on the Senate floor, Trump joked that he gives Graham a score of “99 instead of 100” for his loyalty. He noted that a lot of people are a 100, but Graham had that “one little moment.”

Trump touched on the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, adding that he “had nothing to do with that, by the way, just so you understand.” He expressed pride in his Day 1 mass pardons for those convicted or charged in connection with the attack.

Graham had previously refused to join efforts to challenge the 2020 vote in Congress. However, he warned days after the election that Republicans should challenge and change the system, urging Trump not to concede.

The South Carolina Republican later backtracked and remained frequently aligned with the president’s proposals after Trump’s return to the White House. In 2023, Graham told CBS News’s The Hill that Trump’s immunity defense was a legitimate claim.

Trump noted that Graham’s death is a big blow to the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, which is a top legislative priority.

Questions Loom Over a Modest Financial Estate

With the lifelong bachelor gone, financial experts are looking into where his assets will actually go. Disclosures show he died with a surprisingly modest net worth compared to his wealthy colleagues.

His estate is estimated between $1.5 million and $3 million, consisting primarily of real estate, investment funds, and retirement assets. He ranked 294th in wealth among the 535 voting members of Congress, earning an annual salary of $174,000.

Though transparency experts argue that individual stock trading allows members of Congress to abuse non-public information, Graham largely avoided this criticism. Almost all his assets were held in mutual funds or government bonds.

His net worth at the end was relatively normal for his age group. Individuals between 65 and 74 have an average net worth of $1.79 million and a median net worth of $409,900.

Since Graham leaves behind no spouse or children, questions loom over his financial legacy. Public officials without direct heirs often leave parts of their estates to veterans’ organizations, educational institutes, or scholarship funds.

Apart from his ties to the U.S. Air Force, Graham also maintained deep connections with numerous South Carolina civic organizations. His office has not commented on his estate matters, citing the family’s request for privacy.

If he died intestate without a legally valid will, South Carolina law dictates the estate goes to his closest surviving relative. That role falls to his only surviving immediate family member, who has a deeply personal history with the senator.

Investment vehicles, including retirement accounts and life insurance policies, pass directly to designated beneficiaries regardless of a will. Those designations remain private unless disclosed during probate proceedings, which can take weeks or months.

Lindsey Graham’s Sister Steps Into the Spotlight

The deepest reason Graham never married traces back to an incredible family sacrifice he made as a young man. Shortly after a family trip to Disney World, his mother was diagnosed with terminal stage IV Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

She passed away when Graham was 20, and his sister Darline was only 11. At the very end, doctors told the family she was gone, but Graham grabbed her and pleaded until she revived for one final week.

Just 15 months later, their father was diagnosed with prostate cancer and died in his sleep from a massive heart attack. His 13-year-old sister tragically discovered their father’s body.

Suddenly, a 21-year-old Graham found himself completely responsible for raising his young teenage sister. He rushed home from college every single weekend to enforce her curfews and manage the household.

He later became her legal guardian while in the Air Force so she could qualify for his military benefits. He sacrificed his own youth to ensure his sister finished high school and went to college.

Darline Nordone went on to become a mother of two who worked to help people with disabilities find jobs. Graham took particular pride in her success, calling her turning out so well the highlight of his life.

Bob McAlister, a former adviser to Graham, described their bond as extraordinary. He noted that Graham’s decision to step up as her guardian personified exactly who he was as a person.

In a moving online video, Nordone recalled the day their father died, remembering how Graham hugged her and promised to take care of her. Decades later, Graham jokingly told reporters she could serve as his “rotating first lady” if he ever won the presidency.

Now, because of their extraordinary bond, Governor Henry McMaster has officially appointed Nordone to fill her late brother’s U.S. Senate seat. She will serve the remaining months on his current term, making her the first woman to represent the state in the U.S. Senate.

Nordone spoke briefly about her grief on Monday, admitting, “Actually, I’m just kind of like devastated right now.” She declined an interview Sunday, saying the loss of her brother was still too raw.

However, she is determined to step up and complete his term, which runs through January 2027. She expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to honor his memory.

“It is such a privilege to get to finish some of his important work, and I promise to work hard over the next several months to support the president and carry forward the efforts of my brother on behalf of the citizens of South Carolina and the United States,” she declared.

“I think this is what Lindsey would have wanted, and I plan to honor him in this way,” she added. In a touching final message to her departed brother, she said: “I miss you more than I can even put into words, but I’m gonna do this. I got it. Thank you.”

South Carolina Braces for a Quick Primary Race

While Nordone serves as a temporary caretaker, a fierce scramble is unfolding for the permanent seat. A special primary election is scheduled for August 11, with a one-week filing period starting July 21.

Any necessary runoff election would follow two weeks later on August 25. From that point, the new nominee would have just over two months to campaign for the general election on November 3.

The fast-tracked timeline has raised concerns among Federal Election Commission officials, as federal law requires military and overseas ballots to go out 45 days before an election. For this primary, that deadline would have been June 27, creating a major logistical puzzle.

Several ambitious South Carolina Republicans are already surveying the landscape. State Attorney General Alan Wilson recently won the gubernatorial nomination, overcoming a field that included Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette, Rep. Nancy Mace, and Ralph Norman.

All of those candidates are now eyeing Graham’s vacant seat following his sudden passing. Evette is getting encouragement from across the state and feels she would have a good chance in the special primary.

It is unlikely that any current House member would be appointed to finish the current term due to the slim Republican majority. U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson assured Trump he intends to remain in the House to keep the two-vote majority for the American people.

However, House members are still expected to run for the next full term, with Mace actively considering the race. Rep. Russell Fry, a top Trump ally from the Myrtle Beach area, is also considered a strong possibility.

Businessman Mark Lynch and former Governor Mark Sanford are also reportedly weighing potential runs. Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has fielded calls but expressed no interest in the role, preferring his work for the president.

On the Democratic side, pediatrician Annie Andrews won the nomination last month and has raised more than $8 million. She called on South Carolinians to set partisanship aside and offer gratitude to Graham for his service.

Jaime Harrison, who ran against Graham in 2020, noted they had their share of political disagreements. However, he shared that he always appreciated their mutual respect for South Carolina and the institutions they served.

Junior Senator Tim Scott, who co-chaired Graham’s reelection effort, described his former colleague as irreplaceable. He noted that while America lost a statesman, he lost a close friend.

Sen. Lindsey Graham Called His Scheduler Instead of 911 Before His Death, Saying ‘I’m Having Chest Pains. I Need to Do Something’

The sudden passing of Senator Lindsey Graham has taken an even more bizarre turn as shocking new details emerge about his final, frantic call for help.

On Saturday evening, the South Carolina lawmaker was suffering from severe chest pains inside his Capitol Hill residence. Instead of dialing emergency services, he made a baffling decision that may have delayed critical care.

Now, as federal agents swarm his home, the political world is left questioning why he avoided 911 and why Donald Trump wants the investigation shut down immediately.

A Surprising Final Call

The late senator’s final hours were far more chaotic than anyone initially realized. According to Senator Tommy Tuberville, Graham bypassed emergency dispatchers completely and chose to call his personal scheduler instead.

During that shocking call, Graham reached out to his staffer, revealing that he was in pain. The scheduler, who previously worked for Tuberville, was actually at a restaurant watching the World Cup with one of Tuberville’s staffers when her phone rang.

On the other end of the line was a desperate senator in the middle of a massive medical crisis. According to a shocking report from CNN, the senator reached out with a desperate plea. Graham told his scheduler, “Listen, I’m having chest pains. You know, I need to do something.”

Shocked by the news, the staffer immediately asked the South Carolina Republican if he had dialed 911. Graham bluntly replied, “No, that’s the reason I called you.”

The scheduler immediately phoned emergency responders herself, but the indirect call caused critical delays. The emergency dispatch audio later indicated that the initial call actually came in from Baltimore as someone was heading to the home.

By the time emergency crews arrived in Washington, D.C., and broke down his locked door, they were forced to perform CPR on an unresponsive senator. Tuberville later remarked that “Lindsey basically worked himself to death.

The senator added that the unmarried lawmaker had no family nearby. As a result, Graham constantly threw himself into grueling travel schedules to work for his country.

Federal Agents Swarm the Home

The mystery surrounding his death only intensified on Monday when federal agents descended on Graham’s Capitol Hill home. Video footage captured FBI personnel moving in and out of the property less than 48 hours after his passing.

While the Metropolitan Police Department is technically leading the inquiry, the FBI is providing active assistance. The sudden federal presence quickly fueled intense speculation and conspiracy theories online.

However, according to exclusive updates from TMZ, investigators are urging calm. Sources close to the investigation confirmed that “There has been no new evidence to suggest any foul play.

Despite those reassurances, some lawmakers want absolute certainty before closing the case. Senator John Cornyn publicly called for the release of the toxicology reports to officially put the internet’s wild theories to rest.

Cornyn noted that while a dissected aorta is the preliminary cause of death, the senator’s high-profile political advocacy warrants a complete toxicology sweep. Meanwhile, on Monday, an emotional Senator Ted Cruz was seen choked up and fighting back tears when asked about his colleague’s passing.

Trump Dismisses the Chaos

President Trump was quick to shut down the growing chatter surrounding his long-time ally’s sudden passing. Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump made his thoughts on the federal investigation abundantly clear.

As detailed by Time, Trump believes federal investigators are “wasting their time” by searching Graham’s D.C. home. The president dismissed the conspiracy theories, attributing his friend’s death to a known family health issue.

Trump pointed out that Graham’s father had died of a heart attack at nearly the same age of 69. He expressed deep sadness over the senator’s physical neglect, stating, “I wish he took better care of himself.”

On Monday night, Trump reiterated his stance on Newsmax, telling reporters that while he would love to entertain the conspiracy theories, he knows Graham simply had health problems. He confirmed he had been fully briefed by White House physicians on the situation.

In the wake of the tragedy, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster appointed Graham’s sister, Darline Graham Nordone, to finish out his term. She was officially sworn into her new role on Tuesday afternoon.

Reconstructing Graham’s Final Journey

While these startling new developments have left Washington searching for answers, they add another layer of tragedy to a timeline that began with a seemingly routine trip home.

Just a day earlier, the senator had been moving through the polished halls of power, talking policy and planning what came next. By Saturday night, the reassuring rhythm of his public life had given way to a chain of unsettling details that only became clear after it was too late.

As we had previously reported, Graham had just returned from a high-profile overseas mission, spoken enthusiastically with the president, and appeared focused on the political battles ahead.

Lindsey Graham’s Funeral: JD Vance’s Casket Moment Catches Eyes — and His Niece’s Words Leave No Dry Eye in the Cathedral

The senator’s farewell brought powerful tributes from Washington’s most prominent figures, but a brief movement beside his casket and an intensely personal family announcement became the moments many could not forget.

Vice President JD Vance honored Lindsey Graham during a memorial service in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, before President Donald Trump and foreign leaders gathered for his funeral at Washington National Cathedral. Vance later approached Graham’s flag-draped casket in a way that divided viewers, while Graham’s niece carried news that the senator’s family had desperately wanted him to hear.

A Farewell in the Chamber Where He Built His Legacy

Graham arrived at the Capitol for one of the highest honors Washington can give a departed public servant. His casket rested beneath the Rotunda as relatives, staff members, and lawmakers gathered around the man who had spent more than three decades in Congress.

Many important figures spoke, but one of the most viewed speeches came from the vice president. Vance opened his remarks by addressing Graham’s family and longtime staff. He said their loyalty reflected the kind of man Graham had been, someone who took a sincere interest in people regardless of their position.

According to Vance, Graham greeted dining room workers with the same warmth he showed national leaders. Though he stood around 5 feet 6 or 5 feet 7, he entered the Senate with his jacket open and the confidence of someone much taller.

That larger-than-life manner inspired Vance to call him “swashbuckling.” Beneath it, however, was a man who remembered people, made them laugh, and often helped without expecting public credit.

Vance Remembered the Friend Behind the Political Fights

Vance first got to know Graham while campaigning for the Senate in 2022. He remembered watching Graham speak with voters and pay close attention to what mattered to them, an instinct that followed him everywhere.

Graham also became an important supporter of Vance’s campaign. During one television appearance, he repeatedly mentioned jdvance.com and helped raise more than $100,000, assistance Vance credited with contributing to his Senate victory.

He joked about how Lindsey Graham frequently mentioned his campaign website to help him raise money for his Senate race. In this photo, he spoke during a congressional tribute to the late senator in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol on July 28, 2026, in Washington, D.C. | Source: Getty Images

Their friendship still left room for serious disagreement. After the pair argued over funding for Ukraine, Vance assumed Graham would withdraw his support for a railway bill that mattered to him.

Instead, Graham quietly became one of the bill’s strongest advocates. When Vance asked why, Graham admitted he had little interest in rail policy and replied, “Well, I don’t care about it, but you do.”

Lindsey Graham showed that he could disagree with him on some issues while offering firm support on others. In this photo, Vice President JD Vance spoke during a congressional tribute in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol on July 28, 2026, in Washington, D.C. | Source: Getty Images

For Vance, that answer captured Graham’s character. He could oppose a colleague passionately on one issue, then work behind the scenes to help that same person on another.

“I choose to remember Lindsey Graham as a man who could disagree with you without being disagreeable,” Vance said. He ended by asking God to comfort Graham’s family and grant rest to “a true American original.”

What JD Vance did close to the casket gathered significant public and online attention. As seen in this photo, he paid his respects over the casket during a memorial tribute for the late Lindsey Graham in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol on July 28, 2026, in Washington, D.C. | Source: Getty Images

A Small Movement Beside the Casket Divided Viewers

After the Rotunda memorial, Vance joined Senate Majority Leader John Thune and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer beside Graham’s casket. The three men paused to offer their respects, but Vance’s final gesture immediately drew attention.

As he moved away, the vice president reached toward the casket and gave it a brief pat. Some viewers interpreted it as an informal goodbye between friends, while others found the movement unusually casual for such a solemn setting.

The reaction grew as footage circulated on Instagram. One commenter wrote, “Watch more by tapping on the casket like JD.” Another asked, “Did JD just pat him like a dog? 🐕” A third person made a similar comparison, writing, “Patted that casket like it was a puppy 🐶😂.”

Vance’s speech also faced criticism from someone watching a separate post. The commenter wrote, “JD’s tap tap on the coffin and his speech speaking about HIMSELF is very telling!!”

Some netizens also criticized his speech for talking too much about himself. As seen in this photo, Vice President JD Vance paid his respects over the casket during a memorial tribute in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol on July 28, 2026, in Washington, D.C. | Source: Getty Images

His personal memories had occupied much of the tribute, including stories about campaign money and their legislative disagreements. Still, Vance repeatedly used those experiences to describe Graham’s humor and his habit of helping colleagues without seeking recognition.

The casket itself became the place where lawmakers offered remarkably different goodbyes. According to the AP, Sen. Katie Britt placed both hands on it before bringing one hand to her heart.

Sen. Tammy Duckworth saluted from her wheelchair. Former Sen. Richard Burr bowed and kissed the casket, while Sen. John Kennedy offered a fist bump. Each gesture reflected a separate relationship with Graham. Vance’s pat may have been only a second long, but it stood out.

World Leaders Gathered for Graham’s Cathedral Funeral

The farewell continued at Washington National Cathedral, where Trump joined American political figures and foreign leaders. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy were among those attending, reflecting Graham’s influence on international affairs.

Trump remembered his former presidential rival as “a giant of the United States Senate, a true American original who left us much too soon.” He also described Graham as someone who could make people laugh, but whom few wanted to fight.

Their friendship had emerged from a difficult political history. Graham called Trump “unfit for office” during the 2016 campaign, yet later became such a trusted interpreter of the president that colleagues referred to him as the “Trump whisperer.”

Trump also revisited the time he publicly revealed Graham’s cellphone number. Graham ultimately had the last laugh, he said, because “Lindsey did not stop calling me for the next 10 years.”

Graham’s work continued even after his funeral. According to the AP, senators advanced the Russia sanctions proposal he had pursued during his final days, while Zelenskyy watched the vote from the chamber’s visitors’ gallery.

Inside the cathedral, however, attention gradually moved away from the senator’s public influence, and toward the family he had quietly held together. Graham never married, but he became guardian to his 13-year-old sister, Darline Graham Nordone, after their parents died.

When Fox News’ Sean Hannity spoke about the importance of Nordone and her family in Graham’s life, she placed a hand over her heart. Her daughter, Emillie Boggs Roberts, then stepped forward to describe the uncle Washington never fully knew, and to share the joyful news her family never got to tell him.

His Niece Recalled the Uncle Washington Rarely Saw

Roberts approached the cathedral lectern carrying a lifetime of memories. She thanked those who had supported the family, saying the stories shared after Graham’s death had almost given them additional time with him.

She described an uncle who always answered when her mother called, even before meetings with presidents or world leaders. That devotion began after Graham and Darline lost their parents, when he traveled from college in Columbia to Seneca every weekend to care for his younger sister.

Graham carried the same loyalty into the next generation. He attended Roberts’ milestones, joined family vacations, and even tried DJing at her wedding, though she joked that he did not do it very well.

His protectiveness became especially clear after Roberts underwent brain surgery in 2011. When she complained of severe pain and lost consciousness, Graham immediately called a nurse, an action she believes likely saved her life.

To be loved by Lindsey was to be truly blessed,” Roberts said.

Graham had been beside Roberts from the day she was born and later held her son at the hospital. She expected him to witness another family milestone, but the news arrived on the same evening the family lost him.

The Family News Graham Never Heard

Roberts and her husband had only recently learned that the future was already beginning, but Graham died before the family could place the call they had imagined.

“My husband and I shared with my mother that we were pregnant the evening of Lindsey’s passing,” Roberts said in her eulogy. “The first thing she did was pick up the phone to call him to tell him the great news, just like I knew she would. She never got to tell him, but I have no doubt that he knows and is thrilled.”

The announcement connected the beginning of one life with the family’s sudden loss. Roberts believed her uncle would remain present in spirit when the child was born, just as he had been present for so many other milestones.

She admitted that she had viewed Graham as invincible. To her, he was confident, funny, and so full of energy that imagining the family without him felt almost impossible.

Roberts found comfort in her faith and in the belief that Graham had returned to the parents he lost when he was young. Her final words celebrated the time her family received with him, rather than allowing his death to erase the happiness he had created.

We celebrate a life well-lived, a life well-loved,” she said.

Washington spent the day remembering a senator who argued forcefully and could move legislation through sheer persistence. His niece left the cathedral with a more intimate image of the uncle who answered every call, saved her life, and would have been thrilled to welcome one more child into the family.

Oprah Winfrey Makes Rare Outing with Her Partner of 40 Years — and Netizens Can’t Agree on What They See in the Photos

The acclaimed TV host and media mogul reunited with her former Harpo team in Chicago — and her longtime partner was by her side for the rare public appearance.

The gathering marked the approaching 40th anniversary of “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” but new images of Winfrey and businessman Stedman Graham soon prompted a separate conversation online.

On August 10, 2026, Winfrey shared footage from the reunion on Instagram, explaining that former Harpo parking manager Ty Owens had brought past employees together in Chicago. “I can’t believe that this September 8 marks 40 years since The Oprah Show debuted!” she wrote.

Winfrey thanked Owens for organizing the gathering and former personal chef Art Smith for hosting it at his Chicago restaurant, Reunion. She also praised her former Harpo colleagues, calling them “the greatest team ever.”

“And to ‘all my children’ who got raised from The Oprah Show by me, your mamas, and grandmamas, we’ll celebrate on the @oprahpodcast in September!” Winfrey added.

Winfrey’s friend Jill Van Lokeren shared additional images from the event on the same platform. She described the reunion as “a night of all love and pure joy” and thanked Winfrey, Smith and Owens.

The Reunion Put Winfrey and Graham Side by Side Again

The images show Winfrey standing between Graham and Smith as the group gathered around a large platter of fried chicken.

Winfrey wore a light pinstriped suit with a pale blouse, white sneakers and tinted sunglasses. Her hair fell in loose waves around her shoulders. Graham stood beside her in a dark suit with an open-collar white shirt. He wore his gray hair short and kept his familiar mustache.

The New Photos Sparked Conflicting Reactions

Once the latest images circulated, netizens began offering very different interpretations of what they saw. On Facebook, one netizen said, “He doesn’t look like he wants to be there.”

In a separate discussion, another commenter focused on Winfrey, writing, “Wow, Oprah shrunk and where did that hair go?” Someone else compared the couple’s appearance, saying, “They have the same hairline.” Another person zeroed in on Winfrey’s hairstyle: “Who did her hair? Oprah needs her bangs back….”

Other reactions centered more heavily on Graham. One viewer wrote, “He looks way older than her.” Another simply remarked, “So weird!” A different person appeared surprised that the man beside Winfrey was Graham, asking, “Is that him!😳”

One person joked, “Bro looked like he just woke up after 7 years. lol. I love both of them.” Another viewer added, “Stedman looks like he can barely see right now…. 🤦🏾‍♂️”

The reunion photos appear to be the latest public images of Winfrey and Graham together. Before this outing, the couple had last been photographed together publicly at the Tyler Perry Studios Grand Opening Gala in Atlanta on October 5, 2019.

At the gala, Graham stood just behind Winfrey on the red carpet as she posed in a long dark gown and he wore a black suit and tie. In another photo from the event, Winfrey spoke with reporters while Graham remained nearby, with Tyler Perry standing beside her.

The public appearance also brings renewed focus to the decades-long relationship Oprah Winfrey and Graham have maintained largely outside the spotlight. Although they once planned to marry, the couple ultimately chose not to tie the knot and have remained together in an unconventional relationship.

How Oprah and Stedman Met

Despite being famous and influential, Winfrey chooses to keep her love life private. For over 30 years, Graham has been a critical support system for the show host. Their commitment and loyalty speak volumes. But, how did it all begin?

A young-looking Winfrey met Graham at a Chicago charity event in 1986. The TV host once said she noticed the entrepreneur moving around town with his girlfriend, but they found themselves single at a friend’s house one day.

The duo decided to step out and have a chat. Winfrey once reflected on their first interaction, noting she was not overly impressed at first, although she found him handsome, too handsome to be interested in her.

Recalling the moment, Winfrey said, “We left together, and I asked if he wanted to get a beer. (Yes, I drank a lot of beer then and wore cowboy boots every day.) He said he didn’t drink. (Still doesn’t—not one sip of nothin’ alcoholic since I’ve known him).”

The media mogul continued, “I thought he was nice enough, but I wasn’t that impressed. He was polite, yes, and kind. The sort of guy who sits with an ailing friend. Tall and handsome, for sure. But actually too handsome, I thought, to be interested in me.”

Before meeting Winfrey, Graham was married to Glenda, with whom he had a daughter, Wendy, in 1974. However, the “Oprah Winfrey Network” producer said to People magazine that her producers were wary of the former athlete and sportswear model. They thought he was a fraud.

It Took 6 Years Before Stedman Started Keeping ‘A Toothbrush at [Her] Apartment’

At first, Winfrey said she did not jump into a relationship with Graham. Her friends advised her to keep things simple with him until she was sure he was single and genuine.

The duo only began dating after Winfrey was sure she had made the right choice. However, gaining the trust of one of the most influential black women in the world isn’t an ordinary feat. It took months for Graham to prove his loyalty and support.

Winfrey later remarked that Graham was not one of those who wanted to ride in a limo, but instead, he was willing to “run and catch the bus” with her.

During the early months of their relationship, Graham traveled on weekends from his humble High Point apartment to her luxurious condo on Chicago’s Gold Coast.

Winfrey was headlining her show, “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” at the time. Graham began spending more time in Chicago, working with the non-profit Athletes Against Drugs, which he founded.

Things progressed sweetly between the lovers, but they made sure to safeguard their relationship from the prying eyes of the media. However, Graham sometimes made unannounced appearances on her show.

Graham made a surprise appearance on Winfrey’s show during a viewer Q&A. He dialed in to see whether Winfrey would spill the beans on what she told her close buddy Gayle King about their relationship.

Winfrey and Graham’s romance has been a sweet journey, but one with its fair share of controversies. First, the couple had to deal with media storms, including a false allegation that Graham was having an affair with Winfrey’s hairdresser, which a Chicago columnist spread.

The columnist, Ann Gerber, swiftly issued a retraction and apologized to Winfrey. The lovebirds have had several milestone moments in their relationship. One such moment came in 1991 when Winfrey finally allowed Graham to keep a toothbrush in her house after six years of dating.

Their 1992 proposal was another big moment in their lives. For years, Winfrey had been quizzed on her marriage plans. However, she gave no affirmative response until their engagement in 1992.

The former athlete proposed to Winfrey in style. Winfrey was waiting for Graham to arrive from Chicago and was hanging out in her kitchen with Gayle King. She stepped outside to meet Graham and was stunned when he proposed to her.

Their conversation seemed too casual for a proposal. The pair kept their engagement a secret for a few weeks until Winfrey revealed it during a November guest appearance on King’s TV show.

Why Oprah Will Never Marry Stedman

In her 2020 piece about her romance with Graham, Winfrey recalled the instant joy of being proposed to and then realized she loved her relationship with him as it was.

The media mogul realized she had doubts about being married. In addition, the 68-year-old said she did not want to make the sacrifices of being married. For Winfrey, her show was her priority.

Despite pressure from her famous friends like Tina Turner, Winfrey believes marriage is not for her. However, after attending Turner’s wedding in Germany, the show host considered marrying Graham but had a change of heart.

Winfrey admits that she and Graham would not have lasted if they had married. But, according to the media star, her relationship with the former model is so odd that it wouldn’t have fit inside the boundaries of marriage.

Winfrey said of her decision to stay unmarried, “If you ever interviewed him, he would tell you that had we married, we would not be together today. Because he’s a traditional man, and this is a very untraditional relationship.” The show host believes she does not fit in with the demands of a “wife.”

Their Unconventional Relationship

Although they never got married, Winfrey and Graham enjoy a supportive relationship. According to the longtime presenter, her boyfriend respects her fame and never tries to compete.

Speaking of their relationship, Winfrey said, “I happen to be with a man who has always appreciated the fact that I was…considered a powerful person. [He’s] not trying to crowd in on it, not competing with it. He knows how to hold his own.”

Although she struggled with her physical appearance, Winfrey said Graham was supportive and helped build her confidence. The TV legend remarkably shed some weight but claimed it was not done for her boyfriend.

Winfrey said she did it for herself, even though she loves Graham. She said, “I love Stedman very much. And he cares about me and has been very supportive of me, fat and thin.”

Winfrey believes weight loss should be self-motivated. But, she added, “I did not do this for Stedman…You know you cannot do it [lose weight] for anybody but yourself.”

The couple is now grandparents to Wendy’s child, and the experience has been a lovely one for Winfrey. The media mogul loves her world just the way it is.

At the time, the family requested privacy as they navigated what the representative described as a “deeply personal moment together.”

His Final Posts Showed Him Doing What He Loved

The loss is especially poignant given how active Peabo remained in the months leading up to his death. His social media posts from 2026 showed the singer continuing to perform for audiences around the world.

In January, he shared an Instagram video inviting fans to attend an upcoming concert in Philadelphia. “Who’s coming to see me in Philly??” he wrote. “Tickets are still available!!”

A month later, Peabo posted photos from a performance in Jakarta, Indonesia. Thanking concertgoers for their support, he described the experience as “incredible” and said he could “feel and see all the love.”

Peabo also celebrated his 75th birthday in April, surrounded by family and friends.

Photos from the gathering showed Peabo smiling beside large silver “75” balloons, posing with loved ones, and celebrating with a custom cake marking the occasion.

His final Instagram post offered a more personal glimpse into his life. Shared in early May, the video showed his young son, Robert “Kit” Bryson, joining him onstage during a concert in Atlanta.

“Super proud Dad moment from last nights Gig in Atlanta ♥️,” Peabo wrote. “Keep shining Kitt 🫶🏾✨.”

Looking back, the posts captured a performer who was still touring, connecting with fans, and embracing family life well into his seventies.

The Little Boy Who Became Part of His Final Chapter

The appearance of Peabo’s son in his final Instagram post carried special meaning.

The Grammy winner welcomed Kit in 2018 while in his sixties. Announcing the birth on X, Peabo described the child as “a new life, a greater love and God willing, a extended legacy.”

Months before Kit’s arrival, Peabo reflected on becoming a father to a son during an appearance alongside Tanya. “Yeah, so I have a daughter, but raising your own son is different because the dynamics are reversed,” he said on Oprah.

Tanya jokingly predicted that her husband would not be nearly as strict as he claimed he would be. “He thinks he’s gonna be like, super strict,” she said. “He’s gonna rain down hard on this little boy, and I’m like, you’re gonna be butter when that baby comes along.”

Years later, Peabo appeared to embrace fatherhood wholeheartedly, often sharing moments with his son online.

The Woman He Called ‘The Other Half’ of His Soul

Much of Peabo’s later life centered on his relationship with Tanya. Before marrying the singer, Tanya built her own career in entertainment.

She was a member of the British R&B group The 411, which found chart success in the United Kingdom during the 2000s. She also appeared in several acting projects, including “Cells” and “Becky & Barry #theactorslife.”

The couple’s relationship spanned decades. In a 2020 anniversary post, Tanya revealed that she and Peabo had married in 2010 after years together.

Peabo frequently shared heartfelt tributes to his wife. In a birthday message posted on Facebook in 2023, he called Tanya “the absolute love” of his life and described her as “the other half” of his soul.

Their marriage remained a cornerstone of the family life Peabo openly celebrated during his later years.

In a 2022 interview with Simply Buckhead, the hitmaker said he loved being a husband, father, and grandfather while continuing to write, record, and perform.

The publication described a busy life in Atlanta, where Peabo balanced touring with time at home and spoke proudly about his family.

“Love is the only true commodity worth anybody’s salt,” Peabo said at the time. “Love has never been so unpopular, and I’m still writing about it.”

Peabo Once Credited His Wife With Saving His Life

The recent stroke was not the first major health challenge Peabo had faced. As reported in 2019, Peabo’s team first announced that the “Feel The Fire” singer suffered a mild heart attack at his home two days before and had been taken to a hospital.

“He is currently listed in stable condition and is awake and responsive. Both his medical team and family are optimistic for a speedy recovery,” a rep statement read at the time.

In a later statement, the legendary singer’s representative assured that he was in stable condition.

“We are happy to report that Double Grammy/Double Oscar Award-winning balladeer, Peabo Bryson, is on his way to making a full recovery!” the statement read.

It continued:

“Mr. Bryson is still listed in stable condition and is improving, rapidly. The family continues to request privacy, but extends their deepest gratitude and appreciation to friends and fans for the outpour of love and support expressed throughout this experience.”

The acclaimed singer took to Instagram shortly afterward to acknowledge the support he received and provide an update on his condition.

“First of all, I have to say THANK YOU to all of you for coming together and praying for me!!!” Peabo wrote, alongside a video of him sitting upright in his hospital bed.

He added: “I know and understand that we have a choice in this world and when I needed everyone the most, everyone came to together and said a prayer for my health and for that… I THANK YOU with a full heart of love and my family THANK YOU too!! I’m getting stronger by the day!”

Peabo had also publicly expressed gratitude to the people who supported him during the ordeal — especially his wifeTanya.

In a May 2019 Instagram post, the singer revealed that his wife played a critical role during the medical emergency. He wrote, “This woman is my wife… She is my SHERO! This woman saved my life! Read that line again… ‘She saved my life’!”

Peabo said his wife helped save his life by following instructions from a 911 operator during the ordeal. He also thanked fans for respecting his family’s request for privacy and for keeping him in their prayers throughout the ordeal.

The post offered a glimpse into how deeply the experience affected the singer and how grateful he was for the support he received during his recovery.

In the final months of his life, Peabo continued to share the things that mattered most to him: music, family, and the son he proudly welcomed onto the stage beside him.
