Kansas City Chiefs Coach’s Son in Custody After Mother Shot at Home — What the 911 Call Revealed

Police say the investigation is still unfolding, but new details — including who made the 911 call and new remarks from the Chiefs — are offering a clearer picture of the family’s ordeal.

A domestic shooting inside the Virginia home of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy has left his wife hospitalized, his son behind bars, and investigators piecing together what happened inside the family’s home.

Authorities say the shooting occurred Sunday evening, July 26, 2026, at the Bieniemy family’s residence in Ashburn, Virginia. Deputies responding to the home found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and arrested the suspected shooter inside the residence.

According to ABC 7-WJLA, Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman said deputies were dispatched to the home at about 7:32 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting.

“When we responded, we found that there had been a victim of a gunshot wound,” Chapman said during a news briefing. “She had received multiple gunshot wounds, two actually.”

Chapman said deputies found the suspect inside the home and arrested him. Authorities later identified the suspect as Elijah Zion Bieniemy, Eric and Mi’s 27-year-old son.

Chapman described the incident as family-related and said investigators believe it was an isolated event. “Yeah, it’s apparently a domestic issue. So there’s no threat to the community,” Chapman said.

One Detail About the 911 Call Answered an Early Question

One of the clearest new details to emerge involved the call that first brought deputies to the family’s home. According to the New York Post, citing Chapman, it was Mia herself who called 911 after she was allegedly shot.

During his briefing, Chapman described the case as a “domestic disturbance” involving family members but declined to discuss what happened before the shooting or whether an argument had taken place.

Andy Reid Says the Chiefs Are Focused on Supporting Eric

As investigators continued their work in Virginia, Eric left the Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp to be with his family.

ESPN reported that Eric departed the team’s training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri, shortly after the shooting. Head coach Andy Reid said there is no timetable for his return, and pass game coordinator Joe Bleymaier will oversee Eric’s responsibilities while he is away.

Eric returned to Kansas City before the 2025 season after coaching stops with the Washington Commanders, UCLA, and the Chicago Bears. He previously spent a decade with the Chiefs, helping the franchise win two Super Bowls before leaving following the 2022 season.

When the move became official in January 2026, the Chiefs announced his return on Instagram, sharing a collage of photos of Eric on the sideline with the caption, “EB is back in KC. Let’s get to work 🤝.” The post quickly drew thousands of likes and supportive comments from fans celebrating his return to Kansas City.

Addressing reporters Monday in comments broadcast by KMBC 9, Reid said the organization’s thoughts and prayers were with Eric and his family. While declining to discuss details of the shooting, he stressed that football was secondary as Eric focused on being with his loved ones.

Reid said the Chiefs are giving Eric all the time he needs away from the team and expressed confidence that he has a strong support system both within the organization and at home as his family navigates the aftermath of the shooting.

Asked how players and coaches have responded, Reid said the news has weighed heavily on everyone inside the building. “We all love EB,” Reid said. “You hate seeing those things happen. Real life.”

Reid also praised Mia, describing her as “one of God’s good blessings” and “a saint,” underscoring how highly she is regarded by those who know the Bieniemy family.

Mia Remains Hospitalized as Investigators Continue Their Work

Following the news conference, Chapman said the victim’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

“No,” Chapman said. “From what we understand, she’s in stable condition at the hospital and her husband is with her. I mean, and her husband is obviously connected with the Kansas City Chiefs, and so that’s why this is big news here.”

Chapman said detectives are continuing to collect evidence while Mia receives medical treatment.

ESPN, citing sources familiar with the investigation, reported that Mia was shot in the chest and arm. Authorities have publicly confirmed only that she suffered multiple gunshot wounds and remain focused on determining exactly what happened inside the family’s home.

Chiefs reporter Nate Taylor of The Athletic also shared Reid’s update from Chiefs training camp, writing on X that Mia was stable, which he described as “a plus,” while adding that the organization’s thoughts and prayers were with Eric and his family.

Reid later expanded on that update during a media conference.

“I would say yes,” Reid said when asked whether Mia’s condition appeared encouraging. “We’ll see here. I mean, this is fresh, so we’ll just see how things go, but the fact that she’s in stable condition, I think, is a positive for what it could be.”

Video Shows Elijah Being Escorted Away in Handcuffs

FOX 5 DC reporter Bob Barnard shared the footage on X, showing Elijah being escorted from the Ashburn neighborhood by Loudoun County Sheriff’s deputies shortly after his arrest.

The video opens with several deputies walking Elijah away from the home and across a quiet residential street lined with detached houses, sidewalks, and parked vehicles.

With his hands cuffed behind his back, Elijah walks between deputies, who remain close on either side as they guide him toward a marked sheriff’s SUV parked along the curb.

Elijah is wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt beneath a dark jacket, tan pants, and dark shoes. Throughout the walk, his head remains lowered, and he appears to look toward the ground rather than at the deputies or nearby homes. His pace is steady, and he does not appear to speak or resist as deputies escort him toward the waiting vehicle.

After reaching the SUV, deputies pause briefly beside the rear passenger door before placing Elijah inside. The aerial footage does not include audio, and no interaction between Elijah and deputies can be heard.

Barnard also reported that a neighbor told FOX 5 they heard two gunshots followed by a woman screaming shortly before deputies arrived at the home. The footage quickly spread across social media, prompting reactions from people following the case.

One X user wrote, “Looks like mental illness.” Another user commented, “He looks crazy!” A third user posted, “Wow – just so disturbing – can’t see an oz of remorse or any emotion on his face at all. Heartbreaking. Prayers to the entire Bieniemy family.”

Elijah Remains in Custody as Detectives Continue Their Investigation

Authorities charged Elijah with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm inside a dwelling.

Chapman said Elijah was taken into custody at the scene and remains held without bond while investigators continue gathering witness statements, reviewing evidence, and reconstructing what happened before the shooting.

According to USA Today, Elijah was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where he was arraigned Monday morning, July 27. According to online court records cited by the publication, he is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on August 31.

The newspaper also reported that, if convicted on all three charges, Elijah could face up to 33 years in prison under Virginia law. The most serious charge, malicious wounding, carries a sentence of five to 20 years in prison, while discharging a firearm inside a dwelling is punishable by two to 10 years.

A conviction for using a firearm in the commission of a felony also carries a mandatory minimum three-year prison sentence that would be served consecutively to any punishment imposed for the underlying felony. The charges are allegations, and Elijah is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Chapman added that investigators were not aware of any previous incidents at the residence but said detectives are continuing to review all available evidence.

Rival Rapper Detained After Offset Altercation — Denies Involvement, Then Insults Him on the Way Out

A rapper walked out of a Florida jail with a grin on his face, and one loaded word for the man who had just been shot, and security footage may explain exactly how it all started.

The Monday night shooting of Offset outside a South Florida casino sent shockwaves through the music world, but the arrest that followed raised even more questions.

Casino security footage and a probable cause affidavit are now painting a detailed picture of what allegedly happened in the moments before the gun went off, and who may have set it all in motion.

What investigators say they captured on that footage is striking. And the bad blood behind it all goes back further than most people realized.

Trouble at the Valet

The violence erupted on Monday night outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, turning a luxury valet area into a crime scene. Witnesses watched in horror as a disagreement between two entourages rapidly spiraled into a physical fight and, eventually, gunfire.

Initially, police only confirmed they had detained two individuals, keeping the names of those involved in the physical altercation close to the vest. Rumors swirled online, but the true catalyst for the shooting was hidden behind closed doors at the Broward County Jail.

The Man in the Footage

The mystery was finally solved when police released a probable cause affidavit identifying the suspect as 24-year-old New York rapper Lil Tjay — real name Tione Jayden Merritt. The legal documents paint a picture of a premeditated confrontation rather than a spontaneous street fight.

Cops say security cameras captured Lil Tjay leaping out of his vehicle and pointing out Offset to his crew. According to investigators, the “Calling My Phone” rapper didn’t just watch the fight; he filmed the entire incident on his own phone.

As the groups clashed, one of Lil Tjay’s associates allegedly pulled a gun and fired, hitting the Migos star. Despite the chaos, Lil Tjay seemed surprisingly unbothered by his arrest, later posing for a mugshot with a huge grin on his face.

A One-Word Betrayal

The tension reached a breaking point on Tuesday afternoon when Lil Tjay was released from jail after posting bond. Surrounded by reporters and cameras, he didn’t offer an apology or a standard “no comment” regarding his hospitalized rival.

Instead, he walked with purpose and delivered a stinging, one-word insult. Tjay loudly branded Offset a “rat” as he made his exit, doubling down on a beef that reportedly stems from a 2025 dispute over gambling debts.

While the legal fallout continues, Offset is focusing on his survival. He was recently spotted in his hospital gown, sitting in a wheelchair and enjoying a cigarette outside the medical facility while he recovers from the attack.

Moments Before the Chaos

The violence stands in stark contrast to how the evening began. Just minutes before the shooting, the 34-year-old artist was seen moving through the venue, appearing relaxed and friendly with everyone he encountered.

As we had previously reported, Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was shot on Monday, April 6, 2026, near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

Authorities said the shooting occurred outside the venue, prompting a swift response from Seminole Police. What followed — and what witnesses saw moments earlier — highlights a stark contrast.

Police Contain the Chaos Within Minutes

According to TMZ, Seminole Police said the shooting took place in the valet area outside the casino shortly after 7 p.m.

The incident resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to an individual who was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.

Police said officers were “on site immediately” and that “the situation was contained quickly.” Two individuals were detained, and authorities confirmed the scene is secure, with no threat to the public and normal operations continuing.

Inside the casino, however, the immediate aftermath appeared far more chaotic.

Videos from the scene showed panic spreading among casino-goers as people moved quickly through the entrance area. In one moment, a man was seen lying on the floor while a law enforcement officer attended to him.

Nearby, another individual appeared to be restrained by security. The person was seen speaking to the man on the ground as an officer attempted to calm him before guiding him away.

Police vehicles with flashing lights surrounded the entrance as bystanders watched the situation unfold.

Witnesses Describe the Moment

Witnesses who spoke to the same publication said Offset had been inside the casino around 7:10 p.m., standing near an exit and looking out toward the valet area while talking on his phone.

Images from the scene showed the rapper dressed casually in a cap, dark T-shirt, shorts, and sneakers as he moved through the casino floor. During that time, fans approached him, and he welcomed the interaction.

He shook hands, posed for photos, and chatted briefly with supporters without hesitation. He also smiled and flashed a peace sign. He reportedly appeared relaxed and friendly with no indication that anything was wrong.

Moments later, Offset’s team confirmed he had been shot.

Offset’s Team Shares an Update on His Condition

Offset’s representative confirmed to TMZ that the rapper was hospitalized following the incident.

The spokesperson said Offset is “fine” and “is currently at the hospital receiving medical care,” adding, “He is stable and being closely monitored.”

The shooting comes years after a previous tragedy involving Offset’s hip-hop group.

The Fatal Shooting of Takeoff

Takeoff, Offset’s cousin and fellow Migos member, was fatally shot in November 2022, according to TMZ, in a case that drew widespread attention across the music industry.

Reporting from People said Takeoff, born Kirsnick Khari Ball, was killed in an early-morning shooting outside a downtown Houston bowling alley after an argument broke out following a private event. He was 28.

Houston Police Department Chief Troy Finner said officers responded to a call at 2:34 a.m. and arrived to find Takeoff unresponsive outside the venue. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said there was no indication he was involved in any criminal activity at the time. Finner described him as a “peaceful” and “great artist,” reflecting how those close to him spoke about his character.

Police said the shooting followed an argument among a group gathered outside after the event ended. Many people fled the scene, prompting investigators to urge witnesses to come forward.

Sgt. Michael Arrington of the Houston Police Department’s homicide division said:

“We’re asking them to either call us at the homicide division or if they would like to remain anonymous, they can call Crime Stoppers. We’re looking for any information at this time — any videos, any information. We need all of y’all to send those to us so we can solve this case. We’re looking for anything to help us. We want to find justice for this family.”

Takeoff had attended the event with his uncle and fellow Migos member, Quavo, who was not injured.

Takeoff’s label, Quality Control, said in a statement that his death was a devastating loss, describing him as a beloved figure whose life was cut short by what they called senseless violence. The label also asked for privacy and respect for his family and friends as they grieve.

Takeoff, along with Quavo and Offset, was part of the rap trio Migos. The group, formed in Lawrenceville, Georgia, released music for more than a decade. They rose to fame with their 2013 breakout single “Versace,” followed by their debut album Yung Rich Nation in 2015.

Their 2017 album “Culture” included major hits such as “Bad & Boujee” and “Slippery.” Migos later released “Culture II” in 2018 and “Culture III” in 2020, solidifying their influence on modern hip-hop.

Authorities continue to investigate the shooting as Offset remains hospitalized and officials work to determine what led to the incident.

NFL Star Rondale Moore Passes Away at 25

The lights were supposed to come back on for the young wide receiver this year. Instead, a quiet garage in Indiana became the scene of a tragedy no one saw coming.

Minnesota Vikings receiver Rondale Moore was found dead Saturday, February 21, 2026, in New Albany, Indiana. He was only 25 years old and had his whole career ahead of him.

What happened in his home is still tough to understand, especially looking at one photo on his last Instagram post from three days earlier.

A Devastating Scene

According to The Athletic, police were called to a property in the city, where Moore was discovered inside the garage. The Floyd County coroner later confirmed his death.

Authorities said he died of a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound. But an autopsy is scheduled as the investigation continues.

New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey made it clear that details remain limited. “Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, no additional information will be released at this time,” Bailey said.

For many, the facts are hard to absorb. Just months ago, he was fighting for another shot on the field.

Now, the focus has shifted from football highlights to heartbreak.

A Career Full of Promise

Before the NFL, Moore was a star at Purdue University. He dazzled college football fans with his speed, sharp cuts, and fearless style of play.

That talent led to him being selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. Over three seasons in Arizona, he showed flashes of the explosive player many believed he would become.

But the game he loved began to take its toll. Multiple serious knee injuries disrupted his momentum. Each setback forced him to start over, again and again.

In 2024, he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons in what many hoped would be a turning point. Instead, he was placed on the team’s injured reserve after suffering another knee injury during training camp.

Still, he kept pushing forward.

A New Beginning Interrupted

Moore signed with the Minnesota Vikings ahead of the 2025 season, determined to prove he still had more to give. It felt like a clean slate.

Then came another crushing injury.

In the team’s first preseason game, he tore his ACL. He was placed on injured reserve and did not return to the facility for the rest of the season.

For a player known for his speed and drive, that setback cut deep. The comeback he had been working toward suddenly slipped out of reach.

And when you look back now, the physical pain may have been only part of the story.

The Post That Now Feels Different

Moore’s final Instagram post, shared on February 18, is now drawing attention. The carousel showed him smiling, shopping, relaxing by a pool, and even eating inside a luxury car.

At first glance, it looked like a young athlete enjoying life. But the last slide stood out.

Given the string of injuries and the setbacks he had endured while chasing his dreams, that lyric now feels painfully heavy.

What once seemed like just another music quote now reads like something far more personal due to his struggles.

And those who coached him remember just how fiercely he fought.

The Man Behind the Jersey

Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm shared a tribute that revealed the heart behind the athlete.

“Rondale Moore was a complete joy to coach,” Brohm wrote. “The ultimate competitor that wouldn’t back down from any challenge.”

He described Moore’s work ethic as unmatched and praised him as a teammate who would come through in any situation. “We all loved Rondale, we loved his smile and competitive edge that always wanted to please everyone he came in contact with.”

Brohm ended with raw emotion, offering his condolences and his prayers to his family after this tragedy.

Sadly, Mooore isn’t the only athletic young person to have died this week. Brianna L. Mohr, a 21-year-old from Brick, New Jersey, set out to hike Mount Marcy on February 12, 2026, with her dog by her side. Unfortunately, what began as a winter adventure quickly spiraled into a frantic race against time.

A Call That Changed Everything

Mount Marcy is not just another scenic trail. Rising 5,343 feet above the Adirondacks, it is the tallest peak in New York and widely regarded as especially dangerous during the winter months.

On that February afternoon, the conditions were unforgiving. Snow covered the ground, temperatures hovered well below freezing, and there was little protection from the wind.

Sadly, those conditions ruined this young woman’s hike.

At 3:05 p.m., Mohr placed a call that would set an enormous rescue effort into motion. According to the Asbury Park Press, she told dispatchers she had slipped off the trail near the summit and could not climb back to it.

She was stranded and the only companion beside her was her dog.

Looking for Brianna Mohr

The New York State Forest Rangers received the alert from the hiker and immediately went into action. In a statement from the New York State Police, officials said rangers were deployed and began an extensive search.

Rescue teams advanced up the mountain using snowmobiles and a tracked utility vehicle. At the same time, the New York State Police Aviation Unit launched a helicopter, anticipating that a hoist rescue might be possible.

For a brief window, there was reason to believe she would be located quickly. Then the weather acted up again.

When The Sky Closed In

Clouds thickened over the peak and visibility dropped. According to People, this “heavy cloud cover” prevented the rangers in the helicopter from spotting her from above.

Without clear visibility, the aerial search could not continue effectively. One ranger was lowered to the ground at 6:06 p.m. at the Marcy Dam Outpost to continue the search on foot.

But by then, daylight was fading. The temperature in nearby Keene ranged from eight degrees below zero to 20 degrees that day, and the summit would have felt even colder.

Each passing hour reduced the margin for survival.

Still, the ranger pressed on through the dark, navigating snow-covered terrain and steep sections near the summit. The mission had shifted from a rapid extraction to a desperate ground search in worsening conditions.

Shortly before 10 p.m., at approximately 9:51 p.m., the ranger located Mohr near the summit. Sadly, she was showing no signs of life and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The only silver lining in this tragedy was that her dog was found alive and uninjured and was safely rescued from the mountain.

The Final Determination

Harsh weather conditions delayed the recovery of Mohr’s body until early the following day, when a helicopter lowered two rangers to the site.

An autopsy was conducted on February 14 at Glens Falls Hospital by forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Sikirica. Authorities determined that the cause of death was hypothermia.

After slipping off the trail and becoming stranded near the summit, she had been exposed to extreme cold for hours. In subzero temperatures, the body can lose heat rapidly, especially at high elevation with wind exposure.

As the official findings brought clarity, they also deepened the heartbreak waiting back home.

Remembering Brianna Mohr

In the days that followed, the grief poured out across social media from those who knew and loved her.

On February 14, her mother, Stephanie West, shared a photo of herself with her daughter and wrote, “I am so lost 😭💔” in a post on Facebook. The short message captured a pain that did not need elaboration.

Two days later, her brother Ryan posted a lengthy tribute on Instagram, parts of which were later reported by the Asbury Park Press.

“Dear Bri, I never thought I would have to do this but I just want to say you were the best friend and sister I could have ever asked for,” he wrote, remembering how she helped shape the person he became.

He called her “the coolest person I know” and thanked her for always being there when he needed advice or even just a ride to the job she helped him get. He then added:

“When we meet again we will pick up right where we left off, I love you forever Bri. Rest in peace.”

One of her friends also shared a memory. On February 17, Jennifer Applegate-Schwester wrote, “Had some sad news confirmed today. I was fortunate to have traveled with Bri Mohr on an adventure to Québec/Montréal in June of 2019. Bless you and wishing you peace.”

Through their words, a fuller picture emerged of a young woman who was adventurous, supportive, and deeply loved.

A Stark Reminder

Winter hiking on Mount Marcy draws those seeking challenge and breathtaking views. But it also demands respect for conditions that can shift without warning.

Mohr’s final act was calling for help. Rescuers responded quickly and continued searching into the night, and yet the cold still proved relentless. What remains is the weight of that afternoon call and the hours that followed.

The outdoor ceremony was attended by his costars Michelle Williams, Busy Phillips, and Soleil Moon Frye. When they separated in 2009, a rep said it was “totally amicable and they remain good friends.” Still, the divorce later made waves. According to TMZ, James agreed to pay $7,750 a month in spousal support, while retaining their Hollywood home and creative assets.

Yet if there were scars from that chapter, Heather’s tribute suggests something deeper endured. “What a journey we shared over the years. I sit here in immense gratitude for the special connection, friendship and love that James and I shared that has endured through decades,” McComb’s post continued.

She described him as “a beautiful soul filled with so much light, love, talent, humor, depth, sensitivity, knowledge and a deep love of God that shined through him.” But it is what she says next that truly shifts the tone and reveals a generosity many did not expect.

A Remarkable Tribute to James’s Second Wife

In a moment that has stunned fans, McComb turned her focus to Van Der Beek’s second wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek. “I am especially heartbroken for his incredible wife Kimberly, his beautiful children and his amazing family, Jim, Jared, Juliana, and all of his family and friends, who I know he loved deeply,” she wrote.

Then came the line that feels destined to be quoted everywhere:

“I know that James loved being a father so much, and oh, how he loved Kimberly with his everything. True soulmates. How she showed up for him with such grace is so beautiful and something I will forever admire.”

For an ex-wife to speak that way, publicly, tenderly, and without hesitation, is rare. It transforms the tribute from remembrance into something even more profound: acceptance, admiration, and grace. She closed with a prayerful message:

“God, please hold Kimberly, his children, his family, and everyone who is mourning his loss in your arms. You are the healer of all healers. Thank you, Jesus, for bringing this beautiful soul into the world and into all of our lives. I love you, James.”

She continued, “I know you had a lot of loved ones up there welcoming you home. God bless you. Till we meet again, you sweet soul you. Prayers up 🙏❤️” Heather also urged support for his loved ones, writing, “James family meant everything to him please help cover them during this difficult season. Link to go fund me in my stories [sic].”

The Photo That Stops You in Your Tracks

And then there is the image itself. In the black-and-white snapshot, a young McCombs beams at the camera, her long hair down and held back with a thin headband. Van Der Beek stands behind her, arms wrapped around her shoulders, smiling softly, his 1990s middle-part hairstyle instantly recognizable.

The background is simple and blurred, keeping the focus entirely on the couple. The mood is intimate, playful, almost frozen in time, a memory untouched by fame, divorce, or tragedy.

It is a photo that feels less like a press image and more like a cherished keepsake. And perhaps that is why her words resonate so deeply. Because beneath the headlines and Hollywood history, what remains is something simpler: a shared past, a lasting bond, and a final goodbye filled not with bitterness, but with gratitude.

While McComb’s tribute offered a tender look back at the love and history they once shared, Van Der Beek’s final chapter is still unfolding through the deeply personal memories and sacred final moments now being revealed by those who stood beside him at the very end.

Van Der Beek’s wife, Kimberly, announced on Instagram that he passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, following a battle with cancer.

As news of his passing spread, tributes began pouring in from those who had stood beside him in his final weeks. Through personal photos and heartfelt reflections, friends offered a rare glimpse into the deeply intimate moments that defined his last chapter.

Stacy Keibler’s Sunset Goodbye

On Instagram, retired professional wrestler Stacy Keibler described spending what she called his final days by his side, calling the time a true gift from God.

“When you know time is sacred, you don’t waste a single breath. You don’t rush. You don’t scroll. You don’t worry about tomorrow,” she wrote, reflecting on the stillness they shared.

One image shows Van Der Beek seated in a wheelchair, looking out across an open landscape as Keibler kneels beside him. She recalled watching the sunset with him just nights before his passing.

“And just as the sun slipped away, a shooting star crossed the sky…as if to remind us that none of this is random,” she wrote, later adding that while the world lost someone extraordinary, heaven gained something remarkable.

Erin Fetherston’s Intimate Farewell

Fashion designer Erin Fetherston shared her tribute on Instagram, remembering him not as a public figure, but as family. “You were loved by the whole world, but to us — you were Uncle James,” she wrote.

Among the photos she posted is a deeply personal bedside image. Van Der Beek lies in bed, smiling softly, as a loved one clasps his hands and leans in close, a quiet exchange filled with warmth and unspoken understanding.

“The space you leave behind can never be filled,” Fetherston continued, promising to support his family and keep dancing in his honor because he always knew the importance of joy.

Mehcad Brooks’ Final Vigil

Actor Mehcad Brooks shared one of the most raw and intimate reflections of Van Der Beek’s final days. In a visibly emotional video posted on Instagram, Brooks revealed he was by his friend’s side for the last four or five days — not as a colleague, but as a brother.

“One of the greatest honors in my life was that I got to be there…And hold his hand, and pray with him and tell him jokes, and tell him how much I love him,” Brooks said, his voice heavy with emotion.

He described singing to him, praying with him, and witnessing what he called an extraordinary kind of strength. “I truly just watched this man handle death like a king. He handled the transition like a king,” he recalled.

In a separate written tribute, he called Van Der Beek “an angel among us,” saying he handled the transition from flesh and blood to spirit and soul with grace and power.

Brooks ended his message with a promise to protect and support his family — a final act of loyalty that reflected the bond they shared.

Just a few months before his passing, Van Der Beek made what would become his final public appearance alongside his former castmates.

As previously reported, Van Der Beek, the beloved star who brought Dawson Leery to life over six unforgettable seasons, was too ill to attend the reunion event at New York’s Richard Rodgers Theater on September 22, 2025.

But that didn’t stop him from making his presence known in a way that left the audience in shock.

Though visibly frail, the 48-year-old actor appeared in a prerecorded message that quickly became the emotional centerpiece of the night.

Dressed in a brown leather jacket, white T-shirt, and flat plaid cap, Van Der Beek delivered a heartfelt tribute to his castmates, the fans, and the show that defined a generation.

“I can’t believe I’m not there. I can’t believe I don’t get to hug my castmates, my beautiful cast, in person,” he confessed in the clip, full of longing.

A Bittersweet Night for the “Creek” Family

Although “Dawson’s Creek” favorites Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, Mary Beth Peil, John Wesley Shipp, Mary-Margaret Humes, Nina Repeta, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe, and Busy Philipps lit up the stage, something vital was missing.

Dawson himself.

Still, Van Der Beek’s touching video message helped fill the void. He thanked the audience, calling “Dawson’s Creek” watchers “the best fans in the world,” and went on to introduce none other than Lin-Manuel Miranda — his stand-in for the evening.

A Tender Family Touch in a Star-Studded Season

The Critics Choice Awards red carpet was bursting with Hollywood royalty, but it was Michael’s deeply personal gesture—walking the carpet with his mother—that set the emotional tone of the evening.

Before this touching appearance, Michael had already made waves this awards season—especially in moments shared with his longtime co-star, Tessa Thompson.

Every awards season delivers its share of glamorous moments, but few ignite the cultural imagination quite like a pair of co-stars whose chemistry refuses to be contained within the frame of a film.

Michael and Tessa managed exactly that at the Critics’ Choice Association’s 8th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema & Television — sending the internet into rom-com hysteria even though they are not, and have never claimed to be, a real-life couple. The fascination itself is the story.

It reveals something tender and very human about how we engage with public figures: when a bond feels familiar, warm, and emotionally textured, audiences instinctively turn it into a narrative. Michael and Tessa aren’t fueling romance rumors, but the public’s desire to weave such into their dynamic tells us something about the power of connection, even when it’s purely professional and friendly.

When Real Life Briefly Imitates a Rom-Com

On December 9, 2025, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, Michael and Tessa arrived in coordinated elegance. Jordan wore an all-black suit while Thompson stunned in a bold red textured gown with black and pink accents.

But what followed amplified everything.

Video clips circulating online show them strolling arm-in-arm, laughing, sharing hugs, and exuding a relaxed, familiar warmth and chemistry that the cameras didn’t need to search for.

Inside the ceremony, Michael took the stage to present Tessa with an award for her work in “Hedda.” What could have been a straightforward awards moment became quietly intimate.

Thompson beamed as she accepted the honor, but the subtlety of their shared gaze — and a brief, gentle touch — was enough to send fans spiraling into interpretive overdrive. Together, they created the cinematic montage that supporters were ready to romanticize.

And then came the moment that launched a thousand swoons: Tessa glancing up at Michael with unmistakable admiration, her face softening as they locked eyes.

A private comment or inside joke sent her into shy giggles. She ducked behind him, peeked out with a sheepish grin, waved to the cameras, and mouthed a tiny “sorry.”

It wasn’t romantic, it was human. But to viewers longing for sweetness, it looked like a movie.

The Internet Writes Its Own Ending

Online, admirers didn’t tiptoe around their feelings — they ran with them. One quipped“This is the last shot of a rom com😂 just walking into the sunset together as the credits roll😂.” Another was simply entranced“I could watch this all day. 🥰.”

Others were fixated on their physical proximity and zeroed in on their eye contact, “They way they looking at each other [sic].” Many seemed overwhelmed by the obvious connection between them, with one admirer declaring“Their chemistry is undeniable 😍😍😍.” Another gushed“His smile is too much when he’s with her omg [sic] their chemistry is beautiful ❤️.”

Many even swooned over how perfectly suited they seemed. Meanwhile, others jokingly suggested that the duo could no longer hide how they feel, and that it was time they stopped pretending.

Across comment sections, netizens projected a full-blown romance arc onto a series of affectionate, but entirely platonic, moments.

Romantic Connection, or Our Collective Imagination?

Part of the public’s reaction is baked into cultural memory. Michael and Tessa have spent over a decade embodying a cinematic couple — Adonis and Bianca Creed — whose relationship is one of the emotional anchors of the “Creed” franchise.

Their characters navigated love, trauma, ambition, parenthood, and partnership. They even underwent couples therapy in character during the making of “Creed III” to access the emotional texture of a long-term marriage.

When audiences watch years of fictional intimacy, it’s easy to transfer that feeling onto the actors themselves. It’s not confusion, it’s emotional imprinting.

We also have receipts from Tessa that reinforce the perception of closeness, even if they don’t imply romance. In a 2023 Elle UK interview, she divulged, “I think my favourite [sic] thing about working with Mike is that he really is a very kind human.”

And she went even deeper:

“But I’m also of the belief that it’s not just how good a film you make, but what was the process of making the thing like and how good did you make that for other people around you? He made a really joyful experience for everyone. [sic].”

Her words reveal admiration, respect, and emotional ease. They do not reveal romance. But in the landscape of fan culture, where even fictional characters with less chemistry get shippedadmiration can look a lot like a love story waiting to happen.

That deep-rooted appreciation was once again on full display in November this year (2025) when Tessa took the stage at the American Cinematheque Awards. It was an evening that honored Jordan for his contributions to film.

There, referring to their on-screen romance in “Creed,” she quipped, “And for better or worse, it is to date the longest relationship that either of us has ever been in. That’s showbiz, baby.”

Why These Moments Matter

Michael and Tessa’s dynamic taps into a broader truth: audiences crave emotional connection, and not just in romances. In an era where so many celebrity interactions feel curated, their ease feels refreshing. Their warmth feels real. And real — even when platonic — is irresistible.

When two people offer emotional safety, humor, history, and familiarity, we don’t just see chemistry. We see a possibility. A version of connection we recognize, or want for ourselves.

That’s why the internet keeps writing them into a love story: not because of who they are to each other, but because of what they represent to us.

The Heart of It All

Michael and Tessa aren’t a couple. They don’t need to be. Their connection, warm, textured, and rooted in over a decade of shared storytelling, stands on its own.

What fans respond to is the feeling their presence evokes: softness, familiarity, a kind of emotional fluency that’s rare on red carpets.

Shipping them isn’t about reality. It’s about longing for a connection that looks this easy, this safe, this enduring. And sometimes the love story people want to see says more about us than it does about them.

Some Final Thoughts to Sit With

What do you think fans are truly responding to? The chemistry? The shared history? Or the comfort of imagining a romance where the emotional groundwork already feels so beautifully laid?

Chris Brown’s New Baby Boy Has Fans Buzzing Over Uncanny Family Trait — Photos

A new baby announcement has set social media ablaze, with fans zeroing in on one striking detail they say is impossible to miss. And it all comes down to one very familiar feature.

Chris Brown is once again at the center of online chatter, but this time, it is not about music. Instead, it is a newborn photo that has sparked a wave of reactions, comparisons, and bold claims from fans.

The buzz began after one actress shared a glimpse into her personal life, offering followers a rare look at her pregnancy journey and her newborn son. What followed was a flood of comments that quickly turned the spotlight toward the baby’s appearance, and, unexpectedly, the mother herself.

A Quiet Announcement That Sparked Loud Reactions

On April 27, 2026, Jada Wallace took to Instagram to announce the arrival of her baby boy, posting a series of photos that included moments from her pregnancy and the first image of her child. She kept the caption simple, writing, “Purest love.”

Chris Brown appeared in the comments with a short but telling message: “Taurus gang.” His mother, Joyce Hawkins, also joined in, writing, “Congratulations! He’s just perfect! Sending love always!”

The post marked one of the first public confirmations of Wallace’s pregnancy and her connection to Brown, a relationship the pair had largely kept out of the spotlight.

Fans Zoom In on One Detail

While the baby’s photo sparked immediate reactions, some comments also shifted attention toward Brown’s past relationships and patterns fans believe they have noticed.

One fan wrote“I can’t tell them apart no more 😂,” referring to similarities they see among the women in Brown’s life.

Another added, “He clearly has a type, all his baby mama’s [sic] look alike,” while a similar comment read, “No shade but all his BMs look alike! They’re gorgeous though.”

At the same time, other fans focused directly on the baby’s features. “That nose is strong chris,” one person wrote, pointing to what many described as a noticeable resemblance.

More Reactions Pour In

As the images circulated, additional comments echoed similar sentiments, blending humor with observation. “Already has his father’s attitude. Love it 😂,” one fan shared.

Another added, “Born with his dad aura,” while a third declared, “Nowww THATS A BABY BREEZYYYY🥺🥺.”

A Relationship Mostly Kept Out of View

The attention surrounding the baby also brought renewed interest in Brown’s relationship with Wallace, which had largely remained private.

Hints of their connection surfaced months earlier. In an Instagram post shared by Wallace in August 2025, eagle-eyed followers noticed what appeared to be glimpses of the pair together.

Though neither publicly confirmed details at the time, the post added context to what many now see as a long-standing but low-key relationship.

Stepping Out Together

Beyond social media clues, the couple has also been spotted in public.

They attended Paris Fashion Week earlier this year, appearing together at the Amiri menswear fall-winter show. The sighting marked one of the few times they were seen side by side at a high-profile event.

Despite those appearances, both Brown and Wallace have largely avoided discussing their relationship publicly, keeping details limited.

Another Familiar Pattern Fans Keep Noticing

While the latest reactions center on Brown’s newborn son, this is not the first time fans have pointed out strong family resemblances within his circle.

As we previously reported, Brown’s daughter has also been getting attention online after sharing a new set of stylish photos. The images, along with fan reactions, highlight her growing presence and sense of style.

Royalty Brown caught attention online, but this time, it wasn’t just about who she is, but what she was wearing and how she was wearing it. A recent set of photos got fans talking.

A Look That’s Getting Attention

In a recent Instagram post, Royalty showcased a coordinated leopard-print set that blends comfort with bold style. The outfit features a long-sleeve zip-up top and matching high-waisted pants, creating a sleek, form-fitting silhouette.

The ribbed texture adds subtle structure, while the animal print keeps things playful and on-trend. Her natural curls, soft smile, and relaxed poses elevate the look, giving it an effortless yet confident edge that’s hard to miss.

“Happy Sunday || @NovaKids by @FashionNova,” she captioned her post. It didn’t take long for the post to draw attention beyond just the outfit.

The attention around Royalty has been building for years.

A Moment That First Put Her in the Spotlight

Royalty first entered the public eye in 2015, when TMZ reported that Chris had become a father to a baby girl with ex-partner, Nia Guzman. At the time, sources said the singer was happy about becoming a parent, though the two were not romantically involved.

As she’s grown up in the public eye, that attention has started to shift.

Stepping Into Her Own Space

As she grows, Royalty is stepping into her own lane, and not just through standout fashion moments.

In December 2023, Chris shared an Instagram video of Royalty introducing a personal project that highlighted her early entrepreneurial side.

“Hey guys, it’s your girl Royalty. I just got my new jewelry line called Royal Collection by GoGo Lush. I’m actually wearing one of the chains right now. Go check the link in my bio and tell me what you think,” she said while showing off one of the pieces.

Her Royal Collection features jewelry designed with versatility and connection in mind — from matching sets to everyday pieces.

On the site, she shares that the collection is made with “the finest materials” to create lasting items, offering a glimpse into how she’s beginning to shape her own identity beyond her famous last name.

That same sense of growth can be seen in her life beyond fashion and business.

A Growing Family Around Her

Royalty is also a big sister. In 2019, Chris welcomed a son, Aeko, with ex-girlfriend Ammika Harris, according to Page Six.

In 2022, she welcomed another sibling, Lovely Symphani Brown, whose mother, Diamond Brown, announced the birth in a heartfelt Instagram post, writing, “The princess is here! Lovely Symphani Brown🤎 My sweet babygirl… I promise to love and protect you always.”

What Chris Brown Has Said About Fatherhood

Chris Brown spoke about becoming a father after welcoming Royalty during an April 2025 interview with Angie Martinez. He said, “You know, it changes me for good, I think. Cause I actually sit down and think things through.”

He also reflected on his past mindset, saying he previously had a more impulsive attitude.

When asked if he was scared of becoming a parent, he acknowledged the uncertainty and said people are not fully prepared for it. He added that parenting is something you learn over time. “You just have to kinda learn it as you go,” he said.

He added that Royalty teaches him something every day and described her as “my kinda like, that’s my happy place.”

‘Alaskan Bush People’ Star Matt Brown’s Last Posts Reflect His Struggles

Matt Brown’s final posts now carry a heartbreaking weight, especially because they were not dramatic or showy. They were the quiet words of a man talking about recovery, exhaustion, and trying to “figure things out” before tragedy struck.

The former “Alaskan Bush People” star was confirmed dead after a search along the Okanogan River in Washington. But the most haunting part of the story may be what Matt Brown shared before his death, and what his brother Bear Brown later revealed about their final meeting.

Matt Brown Is Confirmed Dead After Okanogan River Search

According to the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office, a group of private citizens conducting a search along the Okanogan River located a deceased individual in the water on Saturday, May 30, 2026. The sheriff’s office said the person was recovered and brought to shore, where he was positively identified as Matthew Brown.

The department added that Matt had been transferred into the custody and care of the Okanogan County Coroner. Officials said the cause and manner of death would be determined by the coroner’s office, and that no further information was being released at the time because of the ongoing investigation.

Before the official confirmation, the search had already taken a deeply troubling turn. In dispatch audio released by TMZ, responding personnel could be heard discussing a backpack and phone that had been found, while noting that no body had initially been located.

The audio also referenced an empty holster inside the backpack and a reported revolver believed to have gone into the river. Responders could be heard calling for the scene to be secured as a county boat and dive team were sent to search for the body and the weapon.

Those details were grim, but at that stage, the situation was still developing. Matt’s brother Bear later gave fans a painful update, reiterating in an Instagram video that a body had been found and positively identified as Matt.

Bear said his and Matt’s brother, Noah Brown, was with officials and helped pull the body from the water before identifying him. He also said he never imagined Matt would hurt himself, even though Matt had struggled for a long time.

He explained that he had worried Matt might “end up” overdosing, but said he did not think his brother would end up how he did. Bear added that the injury appeared to be self-inflicted, though he acknowledged that the coroner and officials would be the ones to make formal determinations.

He also asked people to be respectful to his family, especially their mother, and warned fans that online comments can be more damaging than people realize.

“Sometimes, like, words can hurt more than fists can,” Bear said. He then pointed out that one of Matt’s last videos addressed negative comments, reminding viewers that the people they watch online are real human beings on the other side of the screen.

Matt was best known to viewers as one of the original stars of “Alaskan Bush People.” According to IMDb, the show followed naturalist and adventurer Billy Brown, his wife Ami, and their seven children as they chose to live life on their own terms, connected to wild nature and bonded to one another.

Matt Had Always Been Open and Honest About His Struggles

For fans, Matt was part of the family’s earliest TV identity. But behind that rugged public image, he had also spoken openly about addiction, recovery, family pain, and the difficulty of staying on track.

In a 2016 interview with People, Matt said he knew his drinking had become a problem before he entered an inpatient rehabilitation program. “I could see myself spiraling,” he told the outlet at the time.

Matt explained that he began drinking lightly after spending time with friends in town, but it gradually became more frequent, adding that he saw “the problem around the corner” and did not want to become “one of those guys.”

He also admitted that telling his family about his struggles was incredibly difficult. “There was a lot of anxiety. It took a couple days to work up the guts to tell my parents,” he shared, while saying their support was “unbelievable” and made him feel he could succeed.

After 35 days in treatment, Matt said he had gained a new perspective on himself and his future. “I learned a lot about myself in those 35 days. I’ve turned my weakness into a strength,” he said, before adding, “In life, we all get lost every now and then and have to find our way back.”

That quote now feels especially heavy, because Matt continued to speak about recovery publicly in the years that followed. In a May 2024 Instagram video, he marked his sober anniversary and said he had put the bottle down on March 19, 2020.

Matt said he was thinking about how difficult the journey had been and how, after a certain point, it became easier. He also spoke honestly about relapse, saying, “Relapse was part of my recovery. It doesn’t have to be. It was though.”

He told followers that relapsing meant losing days, but not losing experience. Matt said he eventually built enough faith, self-belief, and reason to keep going, and he encouraged others in early recovery not to give up.

“Early recovery is really hard,” Matt said, mentioning the first 30, 60, or 90 days. He ended the message with one of his familiar phrases: “Never give up, never surrender.”

Cut to years later, and Matt’s brother Bear recently said in a TikTok video that he had heard Matt had taken his own life, although he stressed at that point that he could not confirm it “a hundred percent.”

Bear also said Matt had been struggling “with alcohol and with drugs and stuff,” which was one of the reasons he had made an earlier video expressing concern. He added that Matt had other issues and said there were things the public did not know.

Bear Pushes Back Against Claims the Family Abandoned Matt and Sheds More Insight

In that same video, Bear pushed back against the idea that the family had simply shunned Matt. He said Matt was the one who did not want to associate with the family, but added that when Gabe Brown saw him, he was friendly, and that Bear himself had spoken to Matt and encouraged him to stay on his sobriety path.

Bear revealed that before leaving for Florida, he had run into Matt at Walmart and talked with him for a few minutes. He said Matt later called him and admitted he had “fallen off the wagon,” and Bear encouraged him to get back on track and go to rehab if he needed to.

Bear said he told Matt, “Everybody falls off,” and reminded him that he had fought before. He also said Matt had apparently been going through a very bad breakup with a girl he liked, though Bear stressed he did not know all the details.

In another TikTok video, Bear addressed criticism from viewers and again said it was very likely that the person authorities were searching for was Matt. He said he had heard from locals, eyewitnesses, the coroner, and others, and that the description matched Matt “to a T.”

Bear also said a storm had forced the search to be called off for a time, explaining that the situation was taking longer because of the conditions. He again asked fans to be more respectful and said he was disturbed by some of the “negative, nasty comments being left online.

He also warned fans that accounts claiming Matt was posting on Facebook, TikTok, or other platforms were not real. According to Bear, Matt only had a YouTube channel, and the other accounts were scammers trying to get money from people.

Bear again defended the family against claims that they had turned their backs on Matt. He said the family had spent time, money, and effort trying to help Matt, including with rehab multiple times, while also saying some relatives did not associate with him for personal reasons.

Everybody cared about him […] Everybody was trying to tell him, you know, that everyone cares about him and everybody loves him and stuff,” Bear clarified.

The Brown Family Remembers Matt’s ‘Extraordinary Mind’

After Matt’s passing, Bear shared a family tribute that paints a much fuller picture of who Matt was beyond the headlines. The post describes him as a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend.

The family remembers Matt as intelligent, curious, creative, and endlessly fascinated by the world around him. They called him a gifted outdoorsman, fisherman, boatman, artist, and lifelong learner who loved adventure, nature, and discovering new things.

One of the most touching parts of the tribute was the family’s description of Matt’s mind. They said Matt had “an extraordinary mind,” noting, “he taught himself sign language, studied Egyptian hieroglyphs, petroglyphs, and Sanskrit, learned conversational Spanish, and could spend hours mastering a new skill simply for the joy of understanding it.”

The family also said Matt openly shared his struggles with addiction and mental health during periods of sobriety and recovery. They wrote that he encouraged others to seek help, offered hope to people fighting similar battles, and reminded them they were not alone.

At the same time, the tribute did not pretend Matt’s life had been simple. His family acknowledged that he made mistakes and had painful chapters, but said they do not believe any person’s life should be defined only by their lowest moments.

“He was imperfect. He was human. He was deeply loved,” the family wrote. It was a heartbreaking tribute, but it also quietly set up the most painful details — the ones Matt and Bear had shared in their own words before the end.

Bear Reveals His Last Meeting with Matt

In a May 31, 2026 YouTube video, Bear spoke more directly about his last interaction with Matt. He said Matt did not want to associate with the family, but that whenever they bumped into each other, they would still talk briefly and remain cordial.

During his encounter with Matt at the Walmart, Bear said he suggested Matt should also post on TikTok and Facebook, but Matt told him YouTube was already “more than he could handle.”

That small detail feels devastating now, because it showed how overwhelmed Matt may have been even by the parts of life that looked simple from the outside. Bear said that after he arrived in Florida, he received a call from an unknown number and realized it was Matt.

According to Bear, that was when Matt told him he had fallen off the wagon and started drinking again. Bear said he urged him to get back on track, reminding him that everyone falls off and that the important thing is getting back on.

Bear also told Matt there was no shame in going to rehab if he needed that reset. He said Matt did not want to go to rehab, but Bear encouraged him anyway and told him he would be praying for him.

Matt Brown’s Final Instagram Post Was About ‘Figuring Things Out’

Bear estimated that the call happened about three weeks earlier. It was, according to him, the last call he had with Matt. That revelation makes Matt’s final public posts feel even more haunting. In his last Instagram post, shared on July 20, 2024, Matt spoke about what he did when life became complicated and rough.

In the Instagram carousel, Matt greeted viewers warmly before admitting that “things have gotten a little bit rough.” He said that when life got difficult, it was important to sit down, figure out what was happening, and decide what to do about it.

Matt explained that he relied on recovery tools he learned during his time at Betty Ford. He said he had spent six months there, paid close attention, and had good counselors throughout his rehab stays.

He showed cards he was using to write down what he was going through and possible solutions, and said he would later check those thoughts to see whether they made sense and whether the solutions were good ones.

In the second video, Matt clarified that he used the cards to write down people, events, and patterns in his life, regardless of whether they were toxic or not, then take a realistic assessment of them. He said the process helped him understand where he was “cognitively” instead of reacting only from emotion.

His caption was just as revealing. “Hi friends! This is a quick 2 videos about one if [sic] the life tools I use when things get complicated,” he wrote, adding that he called the method “figuring things out.”

Matt ended the caption with the phrase he had used so often: “Never give up, never surrender.” Looking back, that message feels less like a slogan and more like a man trying to coach himself through another difficult stretch.

Matt Brown’s Last YouTube Video Shows a Lonely Wilderness Trip

Then there was his final YouTube upload, posted on February 3, 2026. In the video, Matt appears shirtless in the wilderness among rocks and trees, walking around before making his way to a road and getting into a car.

The video then shows him driving and picking up essentials like medicine, gauze, bandages, cream, and other items from a convenience store. Later, he laid the supplies on a table and tended to his nose, while other parts of the video show him changing a tire, driving again, and ending with views of the sky, trees, a little house, and the sunset.

The footage was not flashy or dramatic. It felt raw, lonely, and ordinary in a way that now makes it especially difficult to watch.

But it was the caption that now reads like one of the saddest pieces of the story. Matt wrote, “I have a lot of footage to edit and a lot happened, honestly the fight took a lot of my energy [sic].”

He then stated, “I apologize for not being able to do it better I thought I was doing good by not giving in and I hoped that if I was strong enough I could have achieved more and fixed things and achieved things people who give in don’t normally achieve [sic].”

Then came the most heartbreaking line: “I’m sad to say looking back now I don’t think I did [sic].”

It is impossible to read that now without feeling the weight behind it. Matt had spent years telling others to keep going, sharing recovery tools, marking sober anniversaries, and trying to turn his struggles into something useful for people watching from the outside.

His brother’s final memories add another layer to that sadness. Bear said Matt had distanced himself from the family, felt unable to handle more than YouTube, had fallen off the wagon again, and resisted the idea of rehab shortly before his death.

Still, the picture left behind is not one-note. Matt was a reality star, a son, a brother, a man who struggled, a man who learned, and someone his family says tried to help others through his own recovery journey.

His final posts reflect pain, yes, but they also reflect effort. And perhaps that is what makes them so heartbreaking: even in his last messages, Matt was still trying to understand himself, still trying to find tools that worked, and still repeating the words, “Never give up, never surrender.”

At this time, we wish to extend our most heartfelt condolences to Bear, the entire Brown family, all their loved ones, community, friends, and Matt’s fans, and all who knew and loved him as they mourn such a significant loss. We hope for their healing amid their time of grief. RIP, dear Matt.

‘Project Runway’ Judge Tim Gunn, 72, Reveals Why He Remained Celibate for 43 Years

For decades, the beloved fashion mentor quietly avoided physical intimacy, leaving many to wonder why. The answer goes back to one shocking confession, a terrifying moment in 1982, that he never truly forgot.

On February 19, 2026, Tim Gunn, 72, addressed the deeply personal topic of his celibacy during an appearance on the “Dear Chelsea” podcast.

After some banter with the host, Chelsea Handler, he explained the personal wound that led to the life-altering decision he kept for over four decades.

A Joke About Romance Takes a Turn

The podcast began with some light introductions and chit-chat, but Handler quickly launched into this heavy topic in her typical humorous fashion.

“First of all, I want to talk to you about your celibacy. Let’s talk about that,” she said, adding that his celibacy was one of the reasons she thought they could make it as a couple.

She joked that there would be no pressure between them. They could enjoy each other’s company, tell the other person to get out of their space when needed, and never worry about getting intimate.

Gunn played along. “I’ll leave you alone,” he joked.

Handler continued the bit, insisting it sounded ideal.

“Exactly. It’s perfect,” Gunn replied.

Then she asked directly, “How long have you been celibate, Tim?”

“I’ve been in New York for 42 years. 43 years,” he answered.

Handler reacted with surprise. “Wow. So this was a choice that you made. Tell me about that choice.”

Gunn paused before replying, “Well, I would keep a psychiatrist very busy.”

Handler laughed and responded, “That’s great because I’m also a psychiatrist.”

“You’re a good one,” Gunn shot back, before explaining where it all began.

An Abrupt Ending

Before becoming a steady presence on “Project Runway,” Gunn was living in Washington, D.C., in a serious relationship that lasted nine years.

“I loved this person deeply and would have done anything for him,” he said.

This moment remains crystal clear in his memory.

“We were in bed watching ‘M*A*S*H.’ It was a first run,” Gunn recalled and revealed that his partner suddenly turned to him and said, “I have no patience for you any longer. I want you to leave.”

Gunn had his own apartment, but he had been living with that person for years. Still, he packed up and left that night.

He drove to his apartment along Rock Creek Parkway but had to pull over because he couldn’t breathe properly. He was drowning in his emotions, feeling worthless.

This was also someone he worked with, so it was not a clean break where he could simply disappear. But there’s something even worse.

A Confession That Sparked Terror

Gunn said one of the things his former boyfriend told him was that he had been “sleeping with just about everything that walked by.”

Gunn had been completely loyal. In fact, that man was the only one he had ever been with.

But the timing made the betrayal far more frightening. It was 1982, during the early and deadly days of the AIDS crisis.

“The self-pity then turned to completely unbridled anger because I thought he may have given me a death sentence,” Gunn admitted.

For 10 years afterward, he was tested for HIV every six months.

“Thankfully, I had a clean slate,” he said.

Handler responded with relief. But Gunn’s life still changed significantly.

Why He Never Went Back

Although he remained HIV negative, the emotional fallout lingered.

“Whenever I was even tempted to engage in something that could become serious with someone, all this would come back like Niagara Falls, and it would just take the desire away,” Gunn explained.

Over time, celibacy became his way of protecting himself.

He acknowledged that living alone and abstaining from intimacy took adjustment. But eventually, it felt natural.

He even admitted that during COVID and the pandemic lockdowns, when many struggled with isolation, he found comfort in it.

“We had to stay home, and I’m probably one of the few people who really loved it,” Gunn shared before moving on to other topics of conversation.

A Life Focused on Fashion and Mentorship

While his personal life remained private, Gunn built an extraordinary professional career.

Born in Washington, D.C., he began working at Parsons The New School for Design in the early 1980s and eventually became chair of the department of fashion design. During summer hiatuses, he joined the hit series “Project Runway,” which premiered in 2004.

According to his IMDb, Gunn served as a mentor for 16 seasons and became a producer from 2011 to 2017. He also executive-produced “Project Runway Junior” from 2015 to 2017 and worked alongside Heidi Klum again on “Making the Cut” from 2020 to 2022.

Though he left “Project Runway” in 2017, his influence remains undeniable.

Reflecting on the Runway Years

In 2025, Gunn looked back on his time with the franchise in an exclusive interview with People.

“In many ways, season 1 will always be my favorite because it was the first. It’s like your first child,” he said, noting that after 32 years of teaching, he feels like a parent to many designers.

When it comes to talent, however, he singled out season 13, which aired in 2023 and crowned Sean Kelly as the winner.

“There were so many extraordinarily talented designers,” Gunn said. “It was always so difficult for the judges to choose a winner, and that’s exactly what you want.”

He added that the finale still makes him tear up. But not every season impressed him.

“I’m not a fan,” he said of season 14. “I thought the work was very lackluster.”

He remembered hitting the table in the workroom because he wanted the designers to do better. Their work back then looked too boring. In his eyes, people could buy those same clothes at any store, so he did not think anyone would like their designs.

Still, Gunn never took credit for anyone’s success, and he was only there to give feedback. But he would also warn designers not to create looks based on what they think judges want.

“If you’re not confident in what you’re presenting, it doesn’t matter,” he said.

And once contestants leave the show, he keeps a boundary. He does not initiate contact.

More than four decades after that painful night in 1982, Gunn has no regrets.

The heartbreak, the fear, and the decade of medical testing shaped him. But they did not define him. Instead, they led him to a life centered on independence, mentorship, and personal peace.

Interesting Facts about the Late Jesse Jackson’s Six Children

The legendary activist once admitted there was one thing he might have done differently. It had nothing to do with marches, campaigns, or history-making speeches.

Rev. Jesse Jackson, one of the most recognizable civil rights leaders in modern American history, spent decades in the public eye fighting for justice. But in a 2012 interview with The Guardian, he revealed a far more personal regret.

“If you could edit your past, what would you change?” he was asked. His answer was strikingly honest: “While I’ve spent a lot of quality time with my children, perhaps it’s not been enough.”

That reflection now carries even more weight when you look at the six lives shaped under his care. Each one took a distinct path, with some soaring and others stumbling along the way. But all of them are impossible to ignore.

Santita Jackson, 62

Before politics and punditry, there was music.

According to her bio, Santita Jackson toured with Roberta Flack and even performed the National Anthem at President Bill Clinton’s second inauguration. She also became a familiar face on the Fox News Channel and later hosted her own show on The Word Network.

But her story weaves into American history in ways that feel almost cinematic.

According to The New York Times, Santita attended high school with Michelle Obama and later served as her maid of honor at her 1992 wedding to Barack Obama. She also became godmother to young Malia Obama, cementing a bond between two families who would shape national politics.

Still, her most formative classroom was at home.

In a deeply personal interview with Scripps News, Santita described growing up around tense and even dangerous moments during her father’s civil rights work. One phone call from her childhood still echoes:

“You pick up the phone and… ‘Hi, little girl.’ ‘Hi…’ ‘Is your father home?’ ‘No.’ ‘Was he wearing a trench coat this morning?’ ‘Yes, sir.’ ‘ Well, you know, you should call him at the office because if he comes home I’ll blow his [expletive] head off.'”

Instead of retreating, she leaned in.

“The greatest teacher I’ve ever had has been my father,” she said, explaining how watching him navigate hostile political spaces taught her the power of conversation. That philosophy became her own platform, blending media, music, and activism into one.

And yet, her journey was only the beginning of the family’s complicated public narrative.

Jesse Jackson Jr., 60

He was once seen as the political heir apparent. After serving 17 years in Congress, Jesse Jackson Jr. seemed poised for even bigger things.

But in 2012, headlines shifted dramatically when he announced through the Mayo Clinic that he was being treated for bipolar 2 disorder, a diagnosis that Time reported had stirred controversy within the mental health community.

Bipolar 2 involves cycles of depression and hypomania rather than full-blown mania. As the outlet explained, patients may experience elevated mood, racing thoughts, irritability, and bursts of productivity, but not the loss of contact with reality associated with bipolar 1.

Then came a fall that stunned Chicago.

In 2013, he was convicted of misusing campaign funds and sentenced to 30 months in federal prison. The rising star had crashed, and any chance of a comeback seemed unlikely.

But the story did not end there.

In January 2025, Axios reported that Jesse Jr. was stepping back into the spotlight as a radio host on Chicago’s historic WVON-AM. The station’s general manager noted that providing a platform for a talent like Jesse Jr. enabled WVON to maintain its disruptive influence across Chicago and other regions.

He had also sought a presidential pardon from Joe Biden, telling WTTW, “It would change the course of my life.” The pardon never came.

Instead, he found a microphone. And in Chicago, that might be just as powerful. But 2026 might be the year for his return to congress.

Jonathan Jackson, 60

Not every path in the family led through scandal or song.

Jonathan L. Jackson carved his career through business, education, and advocacy. In a 2022 interview with N’DIGO, he characterized himself as an individual fundamentally driven by justice.

He explained that his entire being revolved around a deep commitment to dismantling discriminatory obstacles and other hurdles that stopped diligent people from reaching the American dream.

He built credentials to match that conviction.

A graduate of Whitney Young High School, he went on to study business at North Carolina A&T University and later earned a master’s degree from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Business.

His résumé spans investment analysis, real estate, brewing, teaching, and serving as a national spokesperson for the Rainbow PUSH Coalition.

Yet his personal life may be the most striking detail.

“Wonderful. I have been married for 26 years. I have three adult children,” he said back then when asked about family life. He maintained his residence in Jackson Park Highlands, where he lived directly across from his parents and just around the corner from his brothers and sisters.

But even there, he sees challenges, pointing to gun violence and the city’s population decline. The fight to stop people from leaving Chicago is something close to his heart.

Yusef Dubois Jackson, 55

If one sibling flirted with pop culture from the outside, Yusef Dubois Jackson jumped straight into it.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Yusef has worked as a private investor, attorney, corporate advisor, and community advocate, with more than 25 years spanning beverage distribution, media, and technology. He once led River North Sales & Service, growing sales dramatically before guiding it through a major investment.

Then he made an unexpected move.

In 2006, he put money into Radar Magazine and transitioned it into Radaronline.com. According to Chicago Magazine, the media-shy son of a famous reverend stepped into the publishing world with caution.

“Given my family’s background-and we are a very public family and very public people-there has been a general interest in my story,” he said.

He also acknowledged that a few media narratives frequently overshadowed the products he promoted. Additionally, he noted that some of these accounts contained inaccuracies or provided a false impression of the facts.

Rather than chase headlines, he focused on long-term impact.

In recent years, he has worked with the Jackson Legacy Foundation and Rainbow PUSH Coalition, helping lead initiatives from COVID-19 testing sites to food relief efforts serving over 500,000 meals. He also played a role in documenting and archiving his father’s work for future generations.

Quietly, deliberately, he built influence in rooms far from the spotlight.

Jacqueline Lavinia “Jackie” Jackson, 50

Named after her mother, Jacqueline Lavinia “Jackie” Jackson pursued a path rooted in academia and research.

In a heartfelt birthday message shared on Facebook in 2022, Reverend Jackson praised his daughter’s global impact. He wrote that she has advanced degrees in biology and cultural anthropology and earned a doctorate in International Educational Policy.

He described her as “brilliant and witty” and called her a “powerhouse in her own right.”

“We share lots of deep conversation and giggles,” he added. “She is truly a world changer.” For a man known for commanding crowds, the pride in those words felt intimate.

But the final chapter of this family story began under very different circumstances.

Ashley Jackson, 26

In 2001, a statement changed everything.

In a statement in The New York Times, Reverend Jackson acknowledged that he had fathered a daughter outside of his marriage. “I fully accept responsibility and I am truly sorry for my actions,” he said at the time.

He added, “As her mother does, I love this child very much.” He emphasized his commitment to providing emotional and financial support and protecting the child’s privacy.

That child was Ashley Jackson.

For years, she grew up largely outside the glare of the spotlight that defined her father’s life. Then, in October 2025, she made a bold announcement on Instagram.

“I’m beaming with excitement to announce my debut project as a producer under my new banner, Rainbow Child Productions,” she wrote in her post. The three-part docuseries, directed by Prentice Penny and showrun by Joie Jacoby, will explore her father’s cultural imprint through her own lens.

“We’re here to tell stories that honor legacy, bridge divides, and ignite moral imagination,” she shared.

In the end, the man who once wondered if he had spent enough time with his children left behind something undeniable: six people and one legacy still unfolding despite the reverend’s passing.

As previously reported, the longtime activist, Baptist minister, and two-time presidential candidate died February 17, 2026, at 84, according to NBC News. A cause of death was not immediately given.

A Family’s Farewell

He died peacefully on Tuesday morning, surrounded by his family, the Jackson family said in an official statement.

“His unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and human rights helped shape a global movement for freedom and dignity,” the family said in a statement announcing his passing.

The family confirmed that he is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; their children, and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Burns Jackson; father, Noah Louis Robinson; and stepfather, Charles Henry Jackson.

“Our father was a servant leader — not only to our family, but to the oppressed, the voiceless, and the overlooked around the world,” the family added. “We shared him with the world, and in return, the world became part of our extended family. His unwavering belief in justice, equality, and love uplifted millions, and we ask you to honor his memory by continuing the fight for the values he lived by.”

Public observances will be held in Chicago. Final arrangements will be released by the Rainbow PUSH Coalition.

Rev. Jackson Was a Witness to History

Long before his presidential campaigns, he stood beside Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. He was present in Memphis on April 4, 1968, when King was assassinated.

In a 2018 interview with The Guardian, Rev. Jackson recalled the moment, saying, “Every time I think about it, it’s like pulling a scab off a sore. It’s a hurtful, painful thought: that a man of love is killed by hate; that a man of peace should be killed by violence; a man who cared is killed by the careless.”

Rev. Jackson and Andrew Young were among the last surviving aides who witnessed the assassination.

From Pulpit to Presidential Politics

Rev. Jackson first made national headlines in 1984 when he entered the race for the Democratic presidential nomination. At the time, he was 42 years old and running with limited funds, a small staff, and no early consensus support from Black voters.

As The New York Times reported in 1984, he was not simply a Black candidate — he was widely viewed as a “serious” Black presidential candidate. That shift carried long-term political consequences, energizing voters and reshaping how many Americans viewed Black leadership in national office.

He ran again in 1988, further cementing his place in political history. His campaigns brought issues of racial justice, voting access, and economic inequality into the national spotlight.

Health Battles in Recent Years

In November 2025, Rev. Jackson was hospitalized and placed under observation for a neurodegenerative condition, according to NBC News.

His organization, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, said he had been managing progressive supranuclear palsy, or PSP, for more than a decade. He had originally been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, but in April 2025, doctors confirmed the condition was PSP.

Tributes From Civil Rights Leaders

Civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton responded quickly to the news.

In a statement, Sharpton said, “our nation lost one of its greatest moral voices,” and described Rev. Jackson as a man who “carried history in his footsteps and hope in his voice.”

He added, “Reverend Jackson stood wherever dignity was under attack, from apartheid abroad to injustice at home. His voice echoed in boardrooms and in jail cells. His presence shifted rooms. His faith never wavered.”

A Lasting Legacy

Over decades, Rev. Jackson built a reputation as a figure who moved between protest lines and political offices. Through the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, he advocated for civil rights, economic fairness, and expanded political participation.

His 1984 and 1988 campaigns remain milestones in American political history. They helped expand voter engagement and changed expectations about who could compete on the national stage.

Jelly Roll’s Daughter Bailee Ann Addresses a ‘Private Family Matter’ in Emotional Messages — Photos

Jelly Roll’s daughter, Bailee Ann, is thanking supporters while pushing back against intense scrutiny surrounding her family’s situation. Her emotional messages came as eagle-eyed fans noticed another detail that only fueled speculation.

For years, Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO’s relationship was presented not as perfect, but as proof that two people could overcome almost anything by continuing to choose each other.

That image was shaken after TMZ reported that Jelly filed for divorce from Bunnie in May in Tennessee. Sources told the outlet that the split was “a mutual decision by the two and a private family matter.”

Their romance had long been framed as a story of loyalty, survival, and second chances. The reported divorce now puts years of public tributes, family milestones, and hard-won reconciliation under a new spotlight. | Source: Getty Images

The news surprised many people because the couple’s relationship had already weathered challenges that had been openly discussed over the years. Jelly and Bunnie met in 2015, before the singer became a mainstream star. Their romance reportedly began the following year, and they married in August 2016.

Bunnie, who previously worked in the sex industry, stepped away from that industry in 2023. Their story also included an unexpected chapter when Jelly welcomed a son with another woman just one week before their wedding.

Bunnie later detailed some of their struggles in her memoir, “Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic,” discussing infidelity, separation, fertility issues, parenting, and the work they put into keeping their marriage intact.

While neither Jelly nor Bunnie has publicly discussed the divorce filing, the family’s situation has become the subject of intense speculation online. The singer’s daughter, Bailee Ann, appeared to acknowledge that scrutiny by posting two emotional messages on TikTok.

Bailee Ann Speaks Out as Attention Intensifies

In a TikTok post, Bailee appeared to be lying in bed with her head resting on a light-colored pillow. A soft pinkish-purple filter covered the image as she looked directly at the camera with a serious expression.

Written across the photo was a blunt response to those following the family’s situation. The final word appeared to leave open the possibility that she may eventually address the matter in greater detail.

A Message of Gratitude — and a Plea for Kindness

Bailee returned with another post on her TikTok Story, this time featuring a plain black background, to thank those who had reached out with encouragement amid the situation.

She expressed gratitude for the love, support, and kind messages she had received, emphasizing that everyone deserves compassion because they are human and have feelings.

Bailee said she felt thankful toward those who had made her feel protected and seen, adding that she would not forget the people who showed empathy while she was facing negativity. She concluded on a hopeful note, saying she wished people would place kindness above all else, even when discussing public figures and their personal lives.

Another Detail Emerges on Instagram

Bailee’s messages were not the only development to surface amid the family’s ongoing silence. A screenshot of her Instagram following list appeared to reveal another subtle change.

It shows a search for accounts containing “xo,” but Bunnie’s account does not appear among the results. Bunnie also does not appear to follow Bailee back.

Neither Bailee nor Bunnie has publicly commented on the apparent change in their Instagram connections. For now, Bailee has made one thing clear: she considers the situation a “very clearly private family matter” and is “not speaking on it — yet.”

Bailee’s comments come at a moment when renewed interest in her family has prompted many people to revisit Bunnie’s long and often painful journey, including the challenges she faced long before she became part of Jelly’s life.

Before Jelly Roll, Bunnie Had Already Survived a Lot

Bunnie’s story did not begin with Jelly. In a December 2019 Facebook post about aging and refusing to conform, she said she would be turning 40 on January 22 of that year and joked that she would one day be a “hot [expletive] grandma.”

She also said she would never conform to society’s standards or let age make her feel small. That same no-apologies energy has been part of her brand for years. During a 2022 interview with Sofia Franklyn, Bunnie said she was born in Houston and grew up in Las Vegas after her family moved there when she was around five.

She described her father as a musician and said her early childhood had a wild rock-and-roll atmosphere. Then, when she was about 12, her family made a hard turn into strict Pentecostal religion. Bunnie said she was no longer allowed to listen to secular music or watch movies above a G rating.

She also described her dad as having been an alcoholic and an alleged cheater and divulged how she had an abusive stepmother.

Additionally, she said she left home at 14. That background matters because it helps explain why so many fans see Bunnie as more than a celebrity wife. She has built her image around survival, reinvention, blunt honesty, and refusing to be shamed.

Bunnie and Jelly Roll’s First Connection Was Messy, Magnetic, and Not Instantly Romantic

In her memoir, Bunnie recalled meeting Jelly in 2015 while she was still with an abusive ex she referred to as Karma. She admitted Jelly Roll “was not” her usual type, but something about him intrigued her. After her ex went to prison, she and Jelly Roll reconnected.

Bunnie remembered him calling her while she sometimes had another man in bed nearby. She would leave the room to take his call, and he would ask questions about his daughter. Those conversations about fatherhood caught her attention.

At the time, Jelly had gotten full custody of his daughter, Bailee, and Bunnie said she loved hearing him talk about trying to be a better dad. Still, the romance did not begin with a perfect fairytale setup… It began with two people carrying heavy histories, drawn together in a way neither of them seemed fully prepared for.

The Night He Said No Became One of Their Most Revealing Stories

One of the more unexpected moments Bunnie described involved Jelly refusing to sleep with her early in their relationship. She wrote that she stripped naked and called him into her room, but instead of jumping into bed with her, he held back.

According to Bunnie, he told her they were friends and said he did not want them to regret anything in the morning. He also talked to her about his five-year plan. It was funny, awkward, and surprisingly tender.

That moment became part of the lore around them because it showed that even in a relationship known for wildness, there was also hesitation, fear, and a desire not to ruin something meaningful.

The Road, Her Work, and Their Unconventional Rules

Once they officially started dating, Jelly invited Bunnie to travel with him. Bunnie agreed, but only if she could continue meeting clients as part of her career as a sex worker. In the memoir, she described boundaries around that arrangement, including that overnights were off limits.

She also later wrote about the couple’s unusual views on monogamy. Bunnie said Jelly Roll had been used to having multiple relationships with different women before her.

She explained that they both initially frowned upon traditional monogamy, but she drew a hard line around honesty. To Bunnie, the issue was not simply attraction or freedom; it was lying. That is why the cheating history remains such a sensitive part of how fans are now interpreting the divorce.

A Vegas Wedding, Morning-After Doubts, and the Start of a Hard Marriage

Their 2016 wedding was pure Vegas chaos. Bunnie described the ceremony as involving a chapel, substances, and the couple listening to wedding-ready music before saying “I do.”

She also admitted Jelly Roll had specifically asked her not to do cocaine before the wedding, but she still described herself as in that state. The morning after, she woke up hungover and had her first married fight with him. The fight started after she admitted she thought the wedding may have been a mistake.

It is a startling detail now, given that the pair later turned that spontaneous chapel wedding into one of the most romantic parts of their public love story.

Years later, Jelly shared a reel from their vow renewal and said they had returned to the same little Las Vegas chapel seven years after stumbling into it the first time. He wrote that his only regret from their original wedding night was never seeing her in a dress.

He also promised he planned to give her the life she deserved and called her his anchor. At the time, it read like a love letter. Now, it reads like a heartbreaking reminder of how much they tried to rewrite the rough beginning.

Bailee’s Rescue Changed the Marriage Overnight

One of the most emotional parts of Bunnie’s memoir involved Jelly’s daughter, Bailee. Bunnie described how Jelly got custody after discovering the conditions Bailee had been living in.

The child, then seven, had reportedly been caring for other children, had no room of her own, was living around a registered sex offender, and was not regularly seeing her biological mother. Bunnie also wrote that Bailee was malnourished.

That became especially serious when Bailee needed her tonsils removed and suffered complications because her tissues would not clot properly. Suddenly, Bunnie was not just in a new marriage; she was in a marriage with a deeply traumatized child who needed stability, care, and protection.

Bunnie and Jelly Roll’s First Breakup Came When She Felt She Could Not Carry It All

After Bailee’s surgery, Bunnie said she became overwhelmed. She wrote that she could not handle being a mom and a wife while also fighting for her place in Jelly’s life and navigating early sobriety. So she moved out.

In hindsight, she described that moment as abandoning her family, even though she now says she knows she never would again. That confession gave fans one of the clearest looks at how heavy their life together had become.

This was not a couple dealing only with fame, attraction, and tabloids. They were also dealing with trauma, parenting, sobriety, and pressure from people around them.

Then Came the Infidelity That Fans Still Bring Up

Bunnie and Jelly eventually reunited and moved into a home in Las Vegas. But the marriage hit another painful chapter when Jelly moved back to Nashville without telling her. Bunnie wrote that he was talking to his ex behind her back.

Even so, she went to Nashville to try to save the marriage. The situation became one of the central wounds in their relationship. Bunnie later wrote that Jelly continued to have flings and contact with exes, and that at one point she nearly took her own life before changing her mind.

The couple considered a three-month separation and planned to announce their split. Instead, they found their way back to each other. But Bunnie admitted it would take years to put the affair aside.

Jelly Roll Later Said the Affair Was One of His Worst Adult Moments

Jelly also addressed the cheating himself in October 2025 on the “Human School Podcast.” He said he does not usually discuss the topic publicly, then described having the affair as one of the worst moments of his adulthood. He said it made him feel like he really could not “get this right” even though he knew he loved Bunnie.

The “Son of a Sinner” musician also said he did a lot of work to repair the relationship. At the time, he said the repair had been special and that he believed they were stronger than ever.

The filing comes after a major personal transformation that fans have been openly linking to the split. Online, commenters quickly began speculating about whether fame, confidence, and a changing lifestyle played a role. | Source: Instagram/jellyroll615

He added that although he wished their story had never included an affair, he was proud of who they had become. That makes the timing of this divorce news feel even more dramatic. Less than a year before the report, Jelly was publicly describing the affair as something they had survived.

His Son’s Timeline Was Another Painful Detail Bunnie Tried to Clarify

Bunnie also used her memoir to explain confusion around Jelly’s son, Noah. She wrote that before her, Jelly had been involved with multiple women over many years.

Before me, J was a player […] One of them was an off-and-on again relationship that resulted in a son together. This woman gave birth to his son a week before we were married,” she penned.

Bunnie said Noah’s mother was already eight or nine months pregnant when she and Jelly decided to be together. She also made it clear that while the relationship with Noah’s mother was difficult at first, it had grown into something respectful.

In July 2023, Bunnie publicly introduced Noah’s mother, Melisa, in a Facebook post about their blended family. She called Melisa “one stand up [sic] chick” and said the family could not imagine life without her. Bunnie also praised Melisa for holding things down for Noah while she and Jelly were on the road.

It was a rare public embrace of a complicated family setup. And it showed how hard Bunnie had worked to make peace with the pieces of Jelly’s life that existed before and alongside their marriage.

Publicly, Jelly Roll Often Made Bunnie Sound like His Saving Grace

For all the messiness, Jelly frequently posted about Bunnie with deep affection. In one July 2023 tribute, he called it a “Bunnie appreciation post” and said he had never been more moved by anyone’s story than hers. He praised what she had overcome and said she had supported him through one of the darkest times of his life.

According to Jelly, Bunnie did not want to be known only as his wife; she wanted to build her own empire, empower women, and share her story in a way that could motivate others. That post is one reason the divorce news feels so strange to longtime fans.

The public version of their relationship was not just romantic; it was full of gratitude, admiration, and a sense that they had both helped each other become better.

Their Baby Dreams Make the Split News Feel Even More Sudden

Another emotional layer is the couple’s fertility journey. In February 2026, Bunnie told People that IVF had been one of the hardest things she had ever gone through. She said she believed her past pain and current fertility journey might allow her to become a voice for women facing similar struggles.

Bunnie also spoke about the heartbreak and hope involved in the process. She had previously shared that she received a long-awaited call after months of IVF struggles, describing it as a huge win.

In the comments of that post, she clarified that she was not pregnant and that it was not a pregnancy announcement. She said it was simply a major step forward for them. At the same time, Jelly had publicly spoken about having “baby fever.”

The idea that they were still talking about expanding their family makes the divorce filing feel even more startling. It suggests that whatever happened, the emotional timeline may be more complicated than fans can see from the outside.

Bunnie Posts Her First Reaction Following the Divorce News…and It Is Not What Some May Have Expected

After the divorce news broke, Bunnie did not immediately post a long emotional statement. Instead, she shared an Instagram video of herself looking happy while singing along to Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me.’

The song choice instantly caught attention. The section she sang along to includes lyrics about still loving someone and the pain of being difficult to live with.

In the accompanying caption, she simply wrote, “Banger 💋.” That tiny caption did a lot of work. It was playful, cool, and maybe just a little pointed. Fans looking for heartbreak got a woman singing, smiling, and letting a rock anthem do the talking.

Her Instagram Story Added Another Telling Moment

Another big eyebrow-raiser came via Bunnie’s Instagram Story. She shared a photo of herself in lingerie with overlaid text that read, “She’s getting her sparkle back ✨.”

That line immediately became the kind of post fans love to dissect. Was it a simple confidence caption? A message about healing? A soft-launch of a new chapter? Whatever she meant, it landed.

The image shows Bunnie looking glamorous and self-assured, and the words suggest that something in her had been dimmed and is now returning. That may be the most telling reaction of all. Not because it explains the divorce, but because it shows how she wants to be seen in this moment.

While Bunnie Sparkled, Fans Noticed Jelly Roll’s Ring Finger

Jelly also drew attention online around the same time. In a recent Instagram Reel, he appeared while talking about a protein shake powder he likes and making a shake. The video itself is about fitness and protein… But one commenter noticed something else entirely.

They wrote, “Wedding ring is missing = TMZ is reporting you’re getting divorced?” That observation quickly became part of the breakup chatter. A missing wedding ring does not tell the whole story, of course. But in a celebrity divorce watch, it is exactly the kind of detail people zoom in on, and given the timing, it only makes the speculation louder.

A Love Story Built on Survival Now Faces Its Most Public Ending

What makes this reported divorce so compelling is not just that Jelly Roll and Bunnie are famous; it is that they spent years telling fans exactly how hard their relationship had been.

They talked about cheating; they talked about blended family; they talked about addiction, sobriety, trauma, fertility struggles, and rebuilding trust; they showed vow renewals, appreciation posts, family moments, and raw confessions.

So when a report says the divorce is mutual and private, fans are left with a very public archive of reasons to wonder. This was never a polished celebrity marriage where the cracks were hidden; the cracks were part of the story.

For now, the people at the center of the story remain largely silent, leaving years of shared memories, public confessions, and recent social media activity open to interpretation. Whether Bailee will eventually say more remains one of the biggest unanswered questions.
